GreenMoose who do you think was the best rock and roll guitarist of all time? (this might not pertain exclusively to discussing Led, but since Zep is one the most classic of classic rock bands, i thought this guild wouldn't be complete without a thread like this) i have a little chart i made up for such occasion, and i would be pleased if you followed suit. (if you want) Jimmy Page=Jimi Hendrix=David Gilmour= Eric Clapton> Carlos Santana> Eddie Van Halen> Zakk Wylde or someone generic like that > worser> worser> etcJimmy page, jimi hendrix, and eddie van halen. jimi has the most soul, jimmy is the best songwriter, and eddie can play the fastest. :3

and it's the best way for me to show off that i am the best air guitarist in my group of friends...
(when non guitarists air guitar.... they look stupid)

dirty old sod baseball0_123 I'd say Page is second to Hendrix. My top three would look something like this... 1. Jimi Hendrix 2. Jimmy Page 3. Tony Iommi I dont get why people say Hendrix is best, i would like an explination, cause i just dont see it. With hendrix its not so much his skill but his swagger and gimmicks, like setting the guitar on fire during live performances and playing with his teeth. So hendrix isnt famous for his skill, hes just mostly famous for his gimmicks and stuff, thats why people like him. rofl I still think that page is a more skillfull player then hendrix was.

Jimi Hendrix was not only famous for being able to play with teeth and behind the back, but he was the founder of psychedelic rock where jimmy page might/could be technically better Hendrix was more stylistically talented Hendrix is also cited as an influence much more than page
