This isn't a blooper unless you're a choir student like me, but:
When Christine is singing 'Think of Me', she goes to sing this REALLY high note (I can't think of it at the moment, but I'm guessing it's somewhere around a high Fa) and when she goes to do it, she has TOO much of a smile in her mouth! It's way too wide! If she had actually been singing, she would have just gone terribly sharp to the point where it hurts to hear! Her jaw should have been dropped much lower. I don't know, but that really bugs me!

I am also a choir student, and I posed the question to my teacher.

She says that for movies with a lot of singing, like POTO, the actors mouth the words for the camera, and then sing over it in a recording session afterwards, like you would do for animated movies. That's why it looks so pretty, and why the POTO has such a good soundtrack.

You can't get that kind of sound on a stage or set, it's only possible in a recording booth. LOL wink

wouldnt it be easier to just do it the other way around? 0_o like record it 1st then act w/ the music playing and they can re-put the music over it later...

Um...can I just say one thing? To those who say the Phantom was wearing a wig in Don Juan Triumphant...how come when she removed his mask in his lair (And before his hair was black) his hair didn't change colour? If need be I can even upload 2 of my least favourite screencaps.

She takes off the wig in the Don Juan scene and in the lair she doesn't.

He wore a wig the whole movie. If you notice, in the one scene before he burned the miniature set he had built of the Opera House, he had been sitting at a desk like thing, right? When he got up and the camera zoomed back, you could see that he had a collection of wigs there. whee

As for the mask in the lair when she takes it off she gently removes it, but not over his head, therefore not taking the mask off. In Don Juan Triumphant, she whiped the mask off over his head and took the wig along with it. ^^

I'm amazed no-one else noticed this, or if they did they didn't mention it yet.

When the Phantom is leading Christine down to his lair in "Angel of Music", just as they turn the corner down to where the horse is waiting, the light shines on Christine so brightly that you can see the silhouette of her legs through her skirt.

Princess Di couldn't get away with it, why should Christine? 3nodding

Okay, so on the All I Ask of You reprise, The Phantom only takes seven steps when running to the gargoyle, but when it shows him on it, there are like... twenty...
When Raoul is in that pit thing, nearly drowning, watch closely, and in the bottom left-hand corner, the bubbles are going backwards. sweatdrop

Who here hates the fact that at the beginning f the POTO song.. you know
*In sleep he sang to me.. in dreams he came* Christine is not singing on the screen but when thay go aroung the corner she is?

And another thing. When Eric breaks the glass at the end of the movie the pieces break all small like(and fake). But when Eric steps on them they are all big! Grrrr!

Also, what is up with the chandiler falling after PONR in the movie and yet in the play it fell before the end of act 1 which is after All I ask of you reprise.

Hehehe! I'm obsessed!

I can't believe no one has noticed this or said it yet... xd

Near the end of "Music of the Night," when Erik is carrying Christine in his arms, after she faints... Christine's head totally hits the gigantic tassel on the drapes when they pass by! xd

I have more.. which I'll share later.. Yeshh.. obsessed fan right here.. I wrote down all the weird things I found... whee I was going to make a thread like this myself... Should have known someone would beat me to it. 3nodding

Well in PONR before she pulls of his mask his hair is all pretty and gerard-butlery but then when she takes off his mask his pretty hair becomes old wispy hair o.o my sister swears that she saw a wig fall off razz but i dunno

And also in The Mirror she has no makeup and then in The Phantom Of The Opera she has tons of makeup! and also, the snowflake on her lip!! that part was hilarious.

But he IS wearing a wig. That's the thing. That's part of his deformity. If you watch the movie where I think he's preparing for Don Juan, there are wigs around his liar on the those little manican things (I think I spelled it right). So he is supposed to be wearing a wig.

He had a wig at the play too on Broadway. Since I live in NYC, I've obviously seen it.

This thread sort of upsets me though. The lip synching is off but it can't be perfect. They *had* to do the music recording before the actual acting took place.

With the whole elastic thing.. come on. We're making a movie, not trying to re-invent history here. In the play they had elastic too. It's easier.

The snot? Come on, he's supposed to be CRYING with all his HEART. He loved her. I'm sure if you're crying that badly you'd have some snot dripping from your nose too. gonk
