The shinigami, after another dozen push-ups, grabbed a book from the pile with a freed right hand. He propped it open with a nearby pebble, and began to read it as he resumed his push-ups. 'Lording evils; the masters of society' was title of the first chapter. Intrigued the man continued to read the book, seeking the messages within it.

A sweat drop fell upon the seventh page of the text. He continued to push himself from the ground in his push-ups, sending small beads of sweat down his forehead to hit the yellow-hued tome. Ugu continued to do his exercise, only taking a split second to turn the page of his book.

"'Solipsism'?" he wondered aloud, as he continued to stretch his body and mind at the same moment. The shinigami continued to stare at the description in the book. The philosopher writing the book was some sort of.. Oddity. He declared his opposition as persons unable to see that their ideals were false. The man never even tried to cause any factual information against the said opponents.
It made the sweating giant sigh.

Soon enough the shinigami was at the part about Plato's Philosopher Kings of the book 'The Republic'. It intrigued him to no end as he read into Socrates and the Gyges ring. Another bead of sweat befell the book's passages.

After finishing half the book, and setting a large sweat stain on the ground beneath him, Ugu closed the text. He continued to do more push-ups. Slowly, ever so slowly, he continued up and down with his rhythmic exercise. His muscles tensed as he pushed himself away from his book.. Then continued to tense as he brought himself back down toward his book.
Ugu then, after a minute of continuous push ups, stood up. He sighed. Then he began to move towards the edge of his clearing, heading towards a deeper corner of the deserted forest.

Eventually, as noon turned to dusk, Ugu found himself at the edge of a small river. To his right was a waterfall that flew up to a high ledge. He began to walk toward the waterfall, and let his heavy sandals fall upon the water's sandy edge.
He made it to the waterfall. After looking at the natural beauty for a moment he noticed a small rock beneath the falling rapids. His body blurred, then, as he moved to the rock.
Water pounded on his massive shoulders. He stood there beneath the falling water, letting his body bcome soaked from the liquid lifesource. Ugu closed his eyes as the water blasted against his sweat-laiden skin.

Ugu faced away from the cliff. With the water beating down on his shoulders. He sighed, and brought his hands together. He clamped his fingers together, overlapping their wiener-sized finger tips together. The dull roar of the surrounding water hummed with the radiance of nature..
Everything around him remained beautiful. The small bits of leaves on the sandy shore were the jewels of life. The pieces of wildlife, even the parasites, had their magnificent spice that flew with the world around them. Ugu was simply in awe as he watched the world through the clarity of the waterfall.
And the water continued to bash against his shoulders.

He, upon his rock, continued to stand. After a minute of standing, however, he began to tire of the angle of an eagle. The monster of a shinigami then sat down on the rock he had just been standing on. Ugu crossed his legs and kept his hands were they had been for the past minute.
The man closed his eyes. He inverted his perceptions as he began focusing on the nearby reiatsu. The birds, the bees, the squirrels, the trees.. All of them possessed soul energy. He took a deep breath, and aptly exhaled it.

Kaiya picked her way through the woods on the way back to the dormitories. She had only been back this way a few times and was concentrating on watching where she was going. So it was that she didn't notice the man until she was almost right on top of him. She let loose a small startled squeal, her wide eyes taking in his tall form. She ducked behind a tree, extremely embarrassed and peeked out. "Oh, please forgive me...I did not realize that you were training here..." She turned crimson and grated to an awkward halt.

Every bird, every worm, every drop of water, every.. girl? They all, indeed, possessed a certain amount of reiatsu- but a female shinigami would most likely possess more than a bug, and Ugu obviously felt this as he focused onto Kaiya with his inner awareness.
He remained beneath the waterfall's drop. The man continued to keep his eyes closed, too, as the woman dived behind a tree. Ugu smiled at the woman's movement. It was weird for him to see any woman, or anyone period, afraid of interrupting him.
"Hello," he said over the light roar of the waterfall. "My name is Ugu Zenmaru."

He didn't seem to be watching, but her mother's fierce training hadn't dissipated after all this time. She bowed formally. "Hello, I am called Iida Kaiya." Her head remained slightly bowed, but her eyes watched him cautiously. She knew a true shinigami warrior when she saw one. This is what she was working so hard to become. Her sharp eyes took in every detail of the scene. The wounds on his body looked quite severe. The furrows in the ground all across the meadow were also very deep. Her eyes returned to the man called Ugu Zenmaru, wider than before. She wondered what kind of training she was doing now. And if it would be as hazardous as the rest appeared to have been.

Water continued to poor down upon his scarred shoulders. The sodden clothing on his back closely fitted themselves to Ugu's many deep gashes. Each single crevace on the man's chest was thickened with the black garb of a shinigami.
He took a deep breath. His mind shook from concentration as he sought after his surroundings. He would feel the girl, the ants in the ground, the fish around him.. Everything. Even the rocks had soul energy. Even the shadows had their faint remenance of reiatsu.
The man then exhauled, still focusing. "Willing to join me, Kaiya-san?"

Ugu let out another breath of air. It went through the cold dosed air, blowing back some sprinklets of water. He pressed his hands together, focusing against the powerful thrusts set down at him from the top of the waterfall. The shinigami's eyes remained closed as his focus remained tensed.

Another breath came from Ugu. It flew down from his mouth, breezing across his wet limbs. His eyes remained loosely shut, wavering with focus as he sat on the rock beneath the waterfall. The shinigami inhaled, then exhaled, then inhaled, as he drew upon his innner chi.
His hands remained clutched and at his center.
