um correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the egg would be worth less than the slippers
I read somewhere that it doesn't give you a choice but it is the original pink box, it would give you a random item either one of the two slippers or an item that now comes in the pink box.

other than that i don't see what is the sense of it staying in ur invent

So...if I remember correctly, it wasn't like a pink box, but could either get one of the slippers or 1000g oo"! And that was choosen randomly ^^"!
