It was a cave. They had long left the central town, and on the outskirts, a black hole opened in the earth. Kale's mouth dropped open in an astonished 'O' and he pointed.

"I know, darling, look at that! Isn't that something?" Marissa bent forward and peered into the darkness. Nothing was visible, past what was illuminated by the clear-day sun. And even that was just a tunnel of grey rock. Or so she thought...; when she looked harder, she noticed a trailing vine snaking across the slate surface. It was a climbing vine, she noticed, but not one the botanist had ever seen before. It's dark green foliage was plentiful, countless sprouts with lacy, frilly leaves. It was speckled with tiny, gorgeous flowers- red, no bigger than the gypsy's pinky nail, and quite foreign.

The mother was intrigued. Kale was, as well, but not so much by the vine as the dark depths before them. He couldn't help thinking what a wonderful hiding place it all would make. There had to be thousands of crevices to plant trinkets.

Curiosity overwhelmed them both. "Shall we take a peek, iubito?" Marissa asked mildly, approaching the plant and running her fingers across it. Then, using the trailing flora as a guide, mother and son pressed onward, into the darkness.

Pan nodded, "Yeah it would seem weird for a theif to play a flute. But theives come in all types." She had come across many of their kind in her life, another wouldn't surprise her one bit. "Heh, I doubt a young canary is much of a match for a theif no matter how bold he may be." She gave a smile towards Amkia as he flew away, Heather following him and Pan running along.

The alley lead way to the thin woman playing a pan flute. Pandara gave a happy smile towards the woman comming up close enough to hear and awaiting for her song to end. She didn't seem like the theif type and her song was rather lovely upon the ears.

"Never had a pastry before, you say?" asks the baker of Anezka with mock incredulity. "Well then, lass, we'll have to fix that, then! Pick anything you like, dear, and I'll give you a little taste."

Caroline smiles, spotting her favourite--an apple twist. She waits (semi-) patiently until the baker finishes her conversation with the baker.
Rojiza had only had a pastry once, but she'd prefer not to express this. She smiles at the baker woman's warm smile and pleasant attitude, but would rather it not be unloosed on her--since she has no way to respond. She see this gooey nut...thing and approaches it delightedly.

Pierre had been silent, hanging back and looking up at his mother as if to say "Look what I'm doing for you. Look how good I'm being." Emelyn caught the gaze, and laughed, pushing him forward gently at the shoulders.

"Go ahead. Pick something out. You've been so good today, I'd be happy to get you some candy."

Pierre gave her a grateful, if surprised, look- and went straight for the counter and pointed at the candied almonds. ...Apparently, he'd been abstaining from the counter only with his form- his eyes had been wandering it for minutes and knew exactly what he'd like.

"And maybe you can even share some with the girls, and they'll let you try some of theirs."

He gave her a cursory look over his shoulder as if to say "Don't push your luck, Mom," then turned back and waited for the almonds to be delivered to him.

Pierre grabbed at the candy with a quick fist, digging at the small, stringed package with his claws as his mother passed the penny coin over to the sweet-faced baker.

At the woman's offer of fudge, Pierre's eyes went wide and pleading to Emelyn- for even though he'd never heard of the treat, it was undoubtedly good, and he desperately wanted to be allowed a piece.

Emelyn smiled and nodded, and the boy plucked the piece from the counter and popped it into his mouth. He let it melt there on his tongue, savoring its sweet goodness.

"Oh, thank you so much...you're so kind." Leshya'e smiled and then took the pastry from the counter, tucking into her satchel and nodding to Anezka, "Try the fudge, love...I'm sure you'll adore it, I was always keen on it." Glancing up at the baker, she smiled, "It's one of those treats that's loved by people of all ages, don't you think?"
Anezka curtsied slightly and took the fudge, taking a little bite and letting the fuge melt in her mouth. She closed her eyes and a large smile spread across her face, "Mmmmm...."
