Lykos unfortunately couldn't capitalize on the challenger being out, because the referee just would not wake up. This gives the challenger time to recover, and nail the champion with a low blow. The champion doubles over in pain as the crowd rains down the boos. Lykos only remains vertical when his free hand grabs the ropes

Brad fully pushes himself back to his feet, and sees Lykos at the ropes! Bad Boy looked to kick him in the back of the leg, looking to drop him down to the middle rope so that he could bounce off the opposite side, and attempt a Mid Rope Clothesline!

already reeling from the low blow, Lykos is dropped by the kick down the middle rope. Before he can gather himself, Bad Boy clocks him with the Mid rope Clothesline, dropping him backwards to the mat after all. Things aren't looking good for the new champion

Brad landed on the outside, near the announcers tables! He saw where he was at and immediately marched towards the time keeper's table, ripping the Intercontinental Championship out of the stagehand's hands!
Immediately sliding into the ring, Bad Boy looks to call Lykos back to his feet, and once he is Brad would look to run at him and drive the IC belt off the skull of the big man!

Lykos is in quite a bit of jeopardy here after the low blow and the clothesline on the middle rope. There hasn't been a count, so clearly the referee is still out. Slowly, the champion starts to make his way to his feet, starting to look around him for the challenger. Once he's up, he turns and Brad is coming for him again with something Lykos can't readily identify in his hand. Either way, he can't take another big shoot and swings his foot up, aiming to clock Bad Boy with a big boot to the face to avoid getting his head knocked off

Bad Boy eats a boot to the face as he comes in! The belt flies into the air and hits the mat as he scrambles to the ropes, trying to pull himself to his feet!

Lykos is still limping from the low blow, but now he's more determined to put the veteran challenger down. Looking to put Bad Boy away, he'd let him get to his feet before attempting to catch him with a popup version of the Howler
|

Bad Boy stumbled forward, getting tossed up into the air onto the shoulders of Lykos, and was driven down!

The crowd pops as Lykos finally nails his finisher, and quickly drops down and hooks the leg for the pin out of habit, hoping that the referee had finally come to enough to count the pin

The referee woke up and crawled over, making the count!
1!...2!...3!

finally, the three count gives Lykos his very first title defense after winning the gold at WrestleMania. He rolls off the pin and lays on the mat for a moment as his music hits the PA.
"Here is your winner and still the the WWFG Intercontinental champion, Lykos!!!"
Lykos finally forces himself back to his feet as the referee hands him the title belt and he raises it to the cheering fans. Tossing the belt on his shoulder, the champion steps out of the ring and makes his way up the ramp, stopping on the stage to look back down to the ring and raise the title over his head again. A fitting scene to close out his first night as the champ
