The word 'angel' means 'messenger', as they were mostly used for correspondence between the gods and the phyiscal world. The only reason that angels are associated with Christianity is just Christian art, the Tanakh, and the Bible.

But if you prefer a different word, 'celestial' is also fitting.

Indeed. For example, the Japanese "tennyo", which is often translated as "angel", can also mean something along the lines of "celestial".

The word "angel" in and of itself is very Judeo-Christian in nature, though there are mentions of such celestial beings in every culture. In that way, they are a race. It's just a little easier in this culture to use angelic, since "celestial" or "star people" (Yes, I have heard this term actually used.) starts getting people thinking about aliens... eek

*nods* Like Azana said, there are certain associations.

Starpeople or Starchildren are often used to describe those who feel that their souls came from some other part of the galaxy. Starseeds are those who feel that their souls came from some other part of the galaxy but are supposedly aware that they were sent down to reincarnate on earth on a mission of sorts that was assigned to them from their home planet or The Council. I used to remember the Council's name, but I've forgotten. It's been quite awhile since I've stumbled across a Starseed site. sweatdrop

The FLCL Guy
The FLCL Guy
I was a normal kid(somewhat). I have an older sister and a younger brother. My mom rased me as single mom becuase my dad was in and out of jail and prison all my life. I live/grew up in a small town named vacaville and its pretty boring. I never really questioned God or religion but that all changed when I started to watch DBZ and found a website about Ki and then I surfed the internet finding infromation about magick and such. I later foundout that I was a copy of a Fosaken Angel named Zero and after searching Astral I found him and he asked if he could use my body. So I let him and now he lives in me and is almost like a split personality. Now I know almost everything he knows and have spent the rest of my time learning earthly magick and such.

Anything else you want to know?

fascinating.
what technique did you use to search the astral plane?

I wonder, does anybody have any links to lists of Angelic names? Preferably with names that start with "A" ?

..Eh..I used to have a website URL that had a big list of Angels from various writings..or something..Though..I fail to remember it.

If I can find it again, I'll post it. sweatdrop

EDIT: Nevermind. Found it.

You're welcome. Though, sadly that's the only internet resource I have at present with regards to angel names.

Well, I could start to list out all of the A names from the Angelology book I have if you want. All you have to do is ask. 3nodding

Is it a pdf? Or an actual book? I wouldn't want to put you to the trouble of typing it all out ^.^;. Besides, I think I may have found it..but I'm not 100% sure. Instead of it being like "EUREKA! THERE IT IS" it was more of a ....being drawn to it but not obsessed over the name.

An actual book. I wouldn't mind typing it all out. Anything to help out. ^^

Oh? Might I ask what you think your name might be? Just out of curiosity, of course.

Ha, funny thing happened today. Found a book called "Angel Numbers" which had the meaning for 444, a number I see EVERYWHERE. And it said I'm surrounded by angels, and am an incarnated one on earth...my dad was there so I tried to control my laughter at the irony and accuracy but...I still had to laugh. Might be something I invest in next time I go back =P

Has anybody ever heard of an angel named Tzadkiel or Cabrion?
any information on these two would be greatly appreciated
PostPosted: Thu Mar 15, 2007 5:12 pm

Tzadkiel, on a site I found, is apparently an angel of divine justice. ^_^

Cabrion wasn't on the site, though I did find a Cabriel, who was an angel of the sign Aquarius.
