I've done skyclad rituals but seeing as I'm in the middle of town and I still live with my family I can't do it that often

For me, it depends on the ritual I'm doing. If it's a fertility ritual, for celebrations and what not, I do, because I'm alone. But you don't have to. It's purely on your intent. Sometimes, clothing can be distracting and it's better to be without. I don't always practice naked. I practice alone, so I can do whatever I want really, but I don't always. It all depends on what you're comfortable with. If you're really uncomfortable being naked and you decide to practice that way, you'll probably think more about being naked than the intent of your ritual. In that case, you'd be better off to practice with clothes on.

I don't have anything against doing rituals skyclad, but I find that it works better for me if I wear my normal clothes. Wicca has become such an integral part of my everyday life that there's really no difference to me whether I'm wearing clothes or not.

I've never been skyclad. My house is next to a road and across the street is teh school. There aren't many places to be...There is a forest but the school owns the grounds and I don't think they want a naked student beside the school. Hmm... sweatdrop I have nothing against skyclad but I've never tried it whee

I don't think doing rituals skyclad are odd. In most covens, that's only what they do.

I've only done skyclad once....and even then I kept my underwear on xp I just couldn't take them off.....lol. Most often I do rituals in what ever I'm wearing at the time. Sometimes I'll put on my robe, but only if I feel its needed.

I sometimes go skyclad... well.. sort of... I usally wear my cloak.... but be naked under it...
Sometimes I can't wait too long at night when the neighbours are still awake, so I usally don't go skyclad... ( I love that word)

Well I've been in rituals where people were skyclad but my mom wouldn't let me join in because i was too young to do it but this year when i go up to starbridge my mom says i can go skyclad if i want to since i'm 18 if she gets reported then she can't get in trouble since i'm legal and everything is my choice.

I have once, and that was during my initiation ritual. Other times, I've performed in underoos smile I don't feel that clothing inhibits my energy. So, go for what you want.

In my coven we do not practice skyclad for a number of very good reasons.
In my personal practice and when working with just my husband I often work skyclad...unless it's winter and the house is too chilly!
I find no difference in the two as far as energies go. I have always felt that energy that couldn't make it through a layer of clothes wasn't very powerful energy to start with.

That's an interesting point, Lark. Hadn't thought about it that way before, though I've never been a big fan of skyclad ritual to begin with. I don't mind doing that when I'm working alone, but in a group I would definately have to know the people well to privelage them with such a view. whee

I personaly would fell really nervous working skyclad with anyone other than my fiance. redface Although I've never noticed any difference in the energy when I was clothed or unclothed.

Some sorces may say it's best, but overall, what you wear for rituals is kinda go-with-the-flow. Some people mearly take off their shoes or something, some put on simple clothing, some wear robes, and some wear nothing at all. It's your own choice.
I wouldn't do my rituals in the nude, though.
