Day 77 Sun  I wanted to see how little I could do but still mimic water. I need to grab a different ref at a different time of day and of a different beach that has waves. Having more of the white of the crests would help. But also... finding better brushes. I’m sure I must have a brush that’d work but I couldn’t find one. I’ve been really frustrated by my lack of brushes that can mimic paintbrushes. Note to self, get more paintbrush brushes Anyway, I’m blaming brushes when I know it’s mostly me. One of these days I’ll have to watch a few tutorials for painting the ocean and see if people have techniques for getting the look of detail with few strokes. I love when painters convey a lot of info in just a few chunky strokes

Day 80 Improve/finish: pig (day 71)  I can see more spots I’d like to tweak but I didn’t notice it while playing with it. I liked the color palette of the original, but I also wanted to have some fun. I think adding pink was a good compromise

Day 82 Color challenge: monochrome blue  Posting now (since I happen to be up) so I won’t worry about forgetting tomorrow c: Tomorrow (day 82) will be crazier than usual. Drew this earlier. Took advantage of the monochrome challenge; felt like drawing bird blobs

Day 83 Otter  Started the drawing and decided to stretch it out. It’s weird, but I’m happy with it. I had hit an art slump but I felt back to normal tonight. I hope the slump is gone but we will see~ I’m sure I’ve seen dragons in similar poses but didn’t use refs for this. I love when art flows well

Day 86 Horse  The colors were inspired by today’s color palette. This was about a 25 min draw, including the sketch. Didn’t have a plan and made it up as I went. Glad it went better than the last horse. I feel that art slump creeping back in. I hope I can stave it off for another couple weeks One of these days, I need to set aside some time to post in the main thread again. The time has flown by

Day 87 Nguruvilu  Googled then ran with no refs. Stretched out fox? Sure. XD... and kinda ignored the other details. I definitely see bits that I need to fix but... I usually don’t draw elongated twisty stuff so it worked out well I was gonna put it in water but I swirled out this pose and wanted to keep it

Day 88 Junk food  The app’s time tracker said an hour and twelve mins. BUT. I was watching TV the whole time. Kept glancing up but also would stop drawing to watch. So I have no idea how much time I actually drew for but it was much less than that. XD Had fun. As usual, I see things I’d still tweak but we’re never really satisfied, are we? Just gotta call it quits.

Day 89 Study a subject (you pick): ocean sunset  Been wanting to study reflection on ocean waves again. I took my time and built a lot of layers of color... within one digital layer. I chickened out at the end and added the sun on another layer in case I messed up. Idk why since I could’ve just undone it but I didn’t really undo or erase, just added. Study reference 26 min
