"Thanks." Her voice held the truth that she knew what the redhead was doing. The change in topic was welcomed because frankly, being from money wasn't all it was cracked up to be. People thought money could solve all their problems but the truth was it just made different ones.

"That was a Lavender and Orange Blend. Made for both relaxing and destressing." Smiling as she looked back at her guest, her arms crossed loosely in front of her, Delilah continued. "I figured we could both use something to help us unwind a bit. If you like it, I can give you the name of the tea shop I got it from. It's the next town over but they ship."

Her words might have been calm but her eyes said 'thank you'.

I can see the Baron but who's the appentance?

"Anyway, would you like to see my tea stash or the master?" She chuckled.

Mercy gave the older woman a small smile and a shrug. Money wasn't everything, and at the end of the day, what really mattered was what you did with your time and your interests. You could have all the money in the world and still be incredibly boring. So she shifted the discussion away from the dryer topic onto something that she personally found enthralling.

Now, as to the question that posed she actually had to give it some thought. "I mean, it would be a shame to end the tour early," she offered. "If you don't mind, that is. Then we can go and raid your stash and I can see if I can add a few more to your list?"

Because she had her own stock list that she had to get shipped in via a particular company - and she had a few of their more interesting flavors on her next shipment for review... but that was neither here nor there at the moment.

A very interesting young man who happens to have a bit of a talent himself - good people.

Sounds like you have a new muse

"Oh?" Delilah found her smile cracking at the edges when she leaned her head back. "Someone else who is very much into tea or just talking a big game?"

Still, it was a nice change of pace as she slipped past Mercy and walked down the hallway towards her own bedroom. "Sadly I lost a good portion of my recently acquired teas just the other day. Just before I got them put away, my cat," She stressed the word as she put her hand on the master bedroom door and looked back at Mercy, "Decided right then was a great time to jump on the counter. Into the sink they went..."

"You...aren't allergic to cats, are you?" Delilah raised a brow just then, it dawning on her to ask.

If only - at this rate I'm going to own stock in every teal dye producer in the state.

"The only thing that I like more than tea is Unicorns," Mercy said, not at all ashamed of the fact and more than happy to state as much. "I also went to the trouble of custom blending a unicorn tea - which just happens to be all of my favorite flavor notes really - but that's beside the point and I'm rambling."

"Loose leaf, pre-bagged, green, white, black," She said. "Match, builder's, chai, you name it I've probably tried it at least once."

She reached for her phone and realized she'd left it on the table. "Shoot - remind me I have a VOD of my last tea review that's still up on my page that I haven't uploaded to Youtube yet to archive."

Now that had been a fun one, had been an asoortment of milk teas.

"You have a cat?!" She asked, not entirely sure why that was shocking but Delilah didn't strike her as the cat type... still... "I love cats. Not as much as unicorns but they rank at least top five. And I'm not allergic I don't think."

"Okay, so what is in the Unicorn blend then because that sounds more like rainbows and glitter to me." That would be a terrifying cup of tea or a drinkable bathbomb. Neither sounded rather pleasant at the moment.

"I'm more into subtle flavors. Things that you can savor and take time to enjoy. Matcha is wonderful in some things but chai, well, Starbucks chai is horrible."

Pushing open the door to her master bedroom, Delilah stepped inside and walked across the floor to flip the light on the nightstand on. Could she have controlled the entire room by a panel on the wall? Yes but what was the point? That would have blinded them both. This was warmer, softer...

And didn't make the white fluff ball curlled up on her bed as angry when one grey eye opened.

The bedroom itself was large. A sitting area on onside and doors to what had to be walk in closets and a bathroom on the other. One wall was nothing but currants from floor to ceiling that began to open to reveal one heck of a view of the city.

"Welcome to my silce of Mayet."

Mathias White, put down the paint and stop stalking the woman! If you see her again, you see her again. Let it go!

Maybe it was harsh but dear God he was hooked. Maybe he did need to take up a new hobby...

"Oolong base, orange, hibiscus, and a hint of vanilla," Mercy offered as she ticked each flavor off on her fingers. "It's actually pretty good with a little honey."

As she carefully entered the room behind Delilah she looked around, taking in the master. it was very nice, and she liked the fact that Delilah had lit the room with only the nightstand. She liked not being immediately blinded when entering a room.

She noticed the white fluff at the foot of the bed, and had to hold her breath for a moment.

"Okay, love the view," Mercy said softly, edging near the foot of the bed and carefully offering her hand to the cat. "And hello to you too, aren't you a pretty kitty..."

I'm being good - like you said, if I see her again I do, if not... I'm hoping it burns itself out in time...

And you call me hopeless....

"I think you like the appearance of something else more." Delilah smirked, sitting on the edge of her bed as she watched the cat lift her head up, yawning before even taking notice of Mercy. When it finally did, she looked down at the woman's hand, stood up, and moved a foot to the side before sitting down to bathe.

"And that is classic Arianna. You came with no offerings and saw her before her bath." Delilah chuckled noticing the cat shot a look at her but paying no mind to it. "She's not so bad once she gets to know you."

Was the cat glaring? Yes, yes it was.

"So, what do I have to do to get a sample of that mix? It sounds wonderful."

Hey! I mean you're not wrong, I'm an absolute mess... but hey!

"Awww," Mercy pouted as the cat walked away, her cheeks puffing a bit but she knew better than to try and push it with cats. That way only lay bandaids and cussing. "Well next time I'll bring some chicken, or fish, or whatever sort of treats she might like."

Oh well that was quite the imposition, inviting herself over again. But she turned and smiled at Delilah. "I'll get you a sample tin, I need to order more anyway so an extra tin should be pretty easy to snag."

If she noticed the cat glaring she didn't make a point of saying anything about it as she turned to look out at the city through the window.

"Okay, I will admin that the view here is nice," She laughed a bit. "Better than my apartment anyway - I get a wall."

Turning her attention fully back to Delilah she grinned. "Now... about that tea stash..."

While I won't disagree, not going to fight you on this.

"Anything fresh or wet food." Delilah smiled, eyeing the cat one more time who was turning slightly to watch their visitor. Her eyes were taking in Mercy, almost studying her as she flicked her tail a bit. That made Delilah a bit nervous to see.

"That would be back in the kitchen." She quickly added with a flick of her wrist and pointed towards the door. "While this may be a high rise place, still get ants amazingly if food is anywhere else but where it should be. Still think there is a nest in the wall somewhere..."

"Ants are the absolute WORST," Mercy agreed. Turning she paused to give the cat one more brief smile and a wave. "If you change your mind and want pets, I'll be in the guest room."

What, its not like the cat could understand her. Well some could. Some cats were... special like that. But Mercy wasn't about to talk about any of that - nobody would believe her anyway.

Heading out of the room she waited for her host to clean things up in her room and set things to her desire before she started to walk back down the hall toward the kitchen.

"It is a really nice place," She said with a nod. "But, I think that's more what you've done with it than anything else."

Alright, brat, I'm going to go back to inhaling oil fumes, I will leave you to your guest <3

With that text, Delilah put her phone on the charger next to her bed, deciding to deal with Mathias later. What had started as banter left a sour taste in her mouth and she knew where she was going tomorrow morning after Mercy dropped her back off at her car.

"I appreciate that." She finally said, looking back at Mercy. "Between you and I, I'm only here because it was my Uncle sucking up to my father after this place was open. Good for business if a young, single, female family member moved in." Shrugging a bit, she stood up. "And since I was going to college, meant I didn't wake up my parents when I got home every night."

"When you are given a blank canvas, the rest is just having some fun." And an interior designer but she left that out.

Heading back down the hallway, she led Mercy back into her kitchen and wordlessly offered her a seat at the island as she opened up her cabinet to pull out a few cans, boxes, and bags of tea.

"Hm...think I need to get some more of this one." She muttered, looking at her bag marked 'Strawberry fields.' "Black tea. Strawberry, Orange, Rose, and Safforn. A nice summer drink."

There was very few things better than a well stocked tea cabinet in Mercy's opinion. Tea could both serve as a soother or an energizer depending on the type and needs at the moment - not to mention the plethora of herbal blends that "supposedly" had medicinal value. Which - to be fair - some of them actually did, but more because it extracted the native chemicals of the plant in question more than anything else. The ancients may not have had pharmicutical companies, but an apothicary was right up there with alchemists in figuring out how the world worked and why eating lead was bad for you.

History was nuts - how had they survived as a species Mercy would never know.

Still she sat perched on the island stool, once more cursing her flat 5' of height and prodigious assets because they always got in the way most of the time. Still, as she looked over the collection she smiled.

"Is it a cold brew blend or do you need a half ton of ice?" Mercy asked. "It does sound delightful though! And your relax blend was really good too! I should hook you up with my sleep blend. Chamomille, lavender, and a hint of mint."

What, she liked mint - sue her.

"I would love to try it." Delilah admitted, putting the bag down as she scanned a few other containers. "Right now, I've been trying this blend for sleep." She grabbed a small bag, clearly a sample size, and slid it to Mercy.

"Beauty Rest." She offered with a sort of embarrassed smile. "Valerian root, cardamom, and spearmint. Not sure if you are picky on your mint but worth a try. Some people prefer one or the other."

"As for cold brew, I don't keep many of those but..." Her hand hovered over the boxes and she tapped one when she found it. "Hibiscus Tea. Basic but it's the only one I liked cold brew. Find the process makes the tea lose some of the flavors that hot water draws out of it."
PostPosted: Fri Oct 22, 2021 12:31 pm

Her smile was bright and her eyes took in the array of teas in front of her very akin to a kid in a candy store. "Oh that sounds good, and I'm partial to all mint really - though spearmint is best in small doses. Peppermint is my favorite overall though, if I had to pin one down."

She carefully took the offered sample bag though, more than happy to give that one a try later at her appartment.

"Cold brew can be super tough," She added. "It's way better to brew it hot, then dump it full of ice, just to make sure you're getting all the flavor. Of course, once you're doing iced tea you really need to add at least a cup of sugar per gallon of water."

No that wasn't the southern from her mother coming out at all.

Torvil
-and the southern in me comes out-

"Sounds like someone has spent some time south of the Mason Dixie line?" Delilah smirked, leaning forward a moment on her counter as Mercy brought up iced sweet tea. "Some places make it far too sweet for me and asking for 'unsweet' makes them look at you like you have last your mind."

New Orleans had been her last trip 'down south' as it would be. Business of course but she was sure to enjoy the Big Easy.

Not that anyone was going to find out what went on there.

"So, besides mint, what are your prefered tastes?"
