Widget doubted she'd amount to much in a fight without specialized gear and the revelation that the woman before her was talented with dancing kinda irritated her, in the back of her mind. Though, she was as impassive as ever externally. Dancing was such a social skill to have, a skillset she personally lacked horribly. Social interaction just wasn't her thing. Though, her tail tucked in behind her more when the woman pointed at it. She wasn't really big on the idea of drawing focus to it. Her stomach twisted as she saw the food brought out, reminding her of just how long it'd been since she last ate anything. Nut, it wasn't the first time she'd dealt with that annoyance and, once she got into tinkering, her mind would be taken off it. She refocused when asked about her semblance.
"Enhanced senses. Sight, hearing, and smell. I can see perfectly well in near complete darkness, pick out minute details others can't see without tools, can hear even a whisper from several dozen feet away, and I can pick one person from another based on their smell alone. But...and I'm not sure this one is because of my semblance or not, but, I'm photosensitive constantly. Which is why I'm wearing these goggles. Even normal indoor lighting will blind me. But, when I activate my semblance, sudden loud sounds can deafen me and strong odors can overwhelm me. I was blind and deaf until about fifteen minutes ago. It's...rather annoying. But, I can't help but feel there's more to it. I've read articles about them and, generally, it seems that as one's body starts getting used to a semblance, they start noticing there's more to it than they thought. And there are several who theorize semblances may have ties to one's strongest skillsets. Like, the first showings of their semblances might tend to make them more naturally adept at a particular skillset. It's only theories though and it's not always the case of course. But, if it is right, then...it might end having applications with technology? I'm rather skilled at running tech, building, coding, etcetera. Though, it could have potential application if it follows that path as I'm particularly skilled at...ummm..."
She faltered as she realized she'd started rambling and had cornered herself into divulging that she was a hacker. Not exactly the best thing to admit to given all the illicit possibilities."Um...well...bypassing encryptions and picking apart coding of other systems? Ugh...I guess there's no good way to admit I'm a talented hacker is there? I haven't done anything worth raising a fuss over though."She hoped her little escapade to fund the first suit wasn't worth that anyway. She really needed to avoid sharing that bit. Even if she had only taken it in bits of only a few Lien here and there, it was technically illegal, even though no one would have noticed the amount she'd taken individually. Maybe she should follow through with being a huntress until she could reimburse those accounts.

Amélie Lacroix - Sniper
Amélie listened intently to the girl and as soon as she said her trouble a nod came. Getting up once more she'd shut off the lights, the natural light being the only thing coming in. "I’m not one to judge. Hacking is a very impressive skill, as far as I know only one other student has the aptitude for such work. Are you hungry? Sorta rude of me to start eating but my semblance requires a high protein diet." Grabbing some more food she'd offer it to Widget. "It’s pre-cooked chicken. I like it personally, nice easy snack." Going back to her previous seated position. Thinking a little more. "That’s a little what I noticed but sometimes it works a little differently. Sometimes it’s a characteristic. I guess it’s the magic of a semblance." She'd finish her thing of chicken, placing the package down. "This is a safe place, no judgements. And if I can help you, with anything, I will. I having to change up how you fight isn’t fun, and until we get you a new suit it’s sadly what you have to do. Now with your light and sound sensitivity I do know what we can do to help with that." Sliding off the table she'd walk to a rolling tool chest, unlocking it and pulling out a cylinder. Returning back she'd take Widget's pistol, sliding and screwing the cylinder onto the barrel. "This is a suppressor. It reduces the decibels of the gun and will also dim the flash. Slight recoil increase but a new grip can give you control. Or we do a submachine gun housing, extended mag, and a lighter trigger to make it rapid fire." Upon the last part she'd walk around, pulling out what would be needed to make each option. Placing it all down on the table. "As to the suit get me a shopping list of what you need. Parts, materials, tools. I'll see just how much I can collect for you. We could honestly get most of it donated. Just about this whole classroom was donated anyways."
Widget watched as the woman shut off the lights. It was a nice gesture and she hesitated before testing to see if it was dim enough for her eyes without the goggles. With the natural light, it was something she could adjust to, though, it was still bright enough to sting a bit. After a few moments though, they had adjusted. She had deep brown eyes, though, it was difficult to tel as her pupils seemed to take up the majority of the portion of her eyes that wasn't sclera. When offered food, she took it somewhat hesitantly. She wasn't quite sure which action would be more rude, to accept it and claim it as hers, or to refuse the generous offer."As I remember, nutrient requirements tend towards physical semblances, like strength or speed, or high-energy output ones like Pyrokinesis. Though, I think protein specific is generally for the former?"She'd have to take note to see what she could find on this other student who could hack. While not a common skill itself, her experience told her it was a fairly competitive skill. After all, what better way to improve such a skill than to test it against another person who had the same skill? She watched as a suppressor was added to the gun while she ate.
"I did consider one, but, I'd decided not to. I never really intended to use my gun without my goggles, which, to be fair, in most cases, would leave me helpless anyway due to most areas involving light levels that would blind me without my goggles, or with my semblance active. If I'm shooting, then someone already knows I'm there and a threat so, they'd be shooting anyway. But, I guess Grimm don't use guns and it might be useful for a first couple of shots. I'm not a great shot though, like I said, my suit's been my primary and it had rudimentary targeting systems to compensate. So, I'm not really sure a rapid fire option would be best. We might be able to extend it to a modified machine pistol with variable fire modes though. Had Semi-auto and Auto modes. But, as far as the suit goes, I think they plan to send a standard model to replace my suit. So, I'll probably get the majority of it in a bit. But, I'll need to modify it to even be usable as I'm much smaller than what the cockpit is designed for and it'll probably be heavier. Mine was designed in a way I could still move in it with it powered off. To replicate that, I'd need to modify the frame and joints extensively as well. Almost to the point that about two thirds of what they send very well may be of no use to me."

Amélie Lacroix - Sniper
Amélie sighed a little. "The gun would be for range. Your Faunus ability only goes so far." Looking over the parts, thinking a little. "You might not always have your goggles either. It’s best to be prepared for all situations." Walking to a wall she'd bull down the sub machine gun version. "Be similar to this. Give this a try." Installing the pistol upgrades she'd hand it over as well. "And try this, find which one is comfortable." Amélie sighed, trying to help the girl out.
Widget caught the sigh with a bit of confusion. Of course the gun would be used at range. She was no good in a straight up slugging match without her suit."Well, yes, I would assume so. That is the function of a gun after all. And my tail...I'd rather not expose it anyway. Honestly, I can handle loud sounds if my semblance isn't active. Just, not with it going. And I can't specify which sense to enhance. As for my goggles...I designed them myself and they're a bit more durable than ones you might just buy and I have backups on me most of the time. But, if I'm in a situation without any and there's any light, I'm completely helpless. I'm just naturally photosensitive and can't do anything about it except artificially filtering the light before it reaches my eyes."The instructor handed her a weapon from the wall. An SMG. Not really what she was hoping for as she never really had to deal with manual recoil before. She drew the slide back and checked the chamber and mag before snapping the slide back in place and selected the burst fire mode before disengaging the safety and approached the firing line. She took aim at a target about ten meters down. Resting it against her shoulder, she aimed down sights and pulled the trigger.
Immediately, she was grateful she'd set it to burst fire as the three rounds spat out and jostled her. Only the first round hit it's mark, the other two hitting a wall and the floor. It had also caused her shoulder to go numb for a moment and she immediately removed her finger from the trigger and reengaged the safety before setting it down and rubbed her shoulder. "I think it might be best to stick to pistols..."Next was her modified pistol and she drew the slide back and ejected the empty clip. Setting it down, she reached into her hip pouch and withdrew five rounds, which she loaded into the empty clip and slapped it back in. Releasing the slide, she took aim and disengaged the safety on it before firing five times. She took her time with the shots and still missed two of them. She clearly knew how to handle a gun, but had very little practice doing so."I think I'll stick with the pistol. I know, I'm horrible at shooting, but, at least I can hit something more reliably with it. And full auto might be too much recoil for me to handle for a while.

Amélie Lacroix - Sniper
Amélie would nod a little. "Even though you don’t plan to have it as your main weapon, becoming proficient at it will help. Mostly since we're trying to get back that suit of yours." Looking over the pistol she'd think a little more. Grabbing a few items she'd have it disassembled in seconds, putting a new trigger and laser sight on it. "These may help your accuracy by a bit. The trigger will help recoil control and the laser will give you a general area." Handing the pistol back over to Widjet she'd smile. Bringing the SMG over she'd open case, revealing a modified pistol. "Not every thing is as it seems. But you are welcome to use the facility, if you intend to fire a weapon make sure I’m here."
Widget wasn't ignorant of the fact that she'd have to improve with her weapons if she was going to make any progress here. But, outside of a little bit of practice handling, the mission she'd been on recently had been her first occasion to even have need to use them, and still, she hadn't needed to fight since bailing from her suit. Another set of modifications later saw her gun fitted with a new trigger and a laser sight. Frankly, while nice, they wouldn't solve her biggest concern. If she unloaded enough rounds into one in the right place, she might be able to down a beowolf, but, that would be about the limit for a gun of that calibre. She noticed thet the smg had been stripped to reveal a modified pistol frame.
"I'm sure these will be useful, but, the underlying concern hasn't really been addressed. I doubt I could even sting much with this thing. Full metal jacket rounds would help, but, frankly, a larger calibre to fire would offer more."She was relatively certain that she could modify it to take a larger calibre. After all, the suit had been far more complex. But, it would be easier if she could manage to just trade it for one from here. Especially given she needed to save what little money she had. Plus, she was starting to feel the fatigue set in from the recently concluded mission."I suppose this would be a bit of a stretch to ask, but, would there happen to be a ten millimeter or a forty-five pistol here that I could simply trade my nine for? As I said, money is a bit of an issue and it would ultimately be easier and quicker than modifying what I have. I'm reasonably sure I could, however, it would eliminate the need to entirely."

Amélie Lacroix - Sniper
Amélie would nod a little more. "Pistols are set for a certain caliber size. It’s the design of them, hence different ammo types." With the inquiry of a trade the teacher would wave, walking over to a large rack of weapons. "Heavier gun, packs a greater punch, large recoil but..." Highlighting a small segment of pistols. "These are all forty-five rounds. Magnums, Desert Eagles, a few custom made pieces from fallen students and staff that families didn’t want. These will punch holes in people and since you are trying the, out simulated rounds. Same accuracies, same kick, just minus the bullet. This is mostly because it’s a bit more expensive to fire so we make our own in house." She placed several down on a table, having a display like an arms dealer. "As to your suit let me know what you need to make it and I’ll try to get my hands on anything and everything." Turning around she'd pull some stock less, short barreled, Automatic rifles. "ARs, more compact but they do five-five-six rounds. Just incase you want to expand your arsenal." She'd also place down several Sub Machine guns. "Play around, find what is comfortable for you to use."
Widget understood what the teacher was saying, but, like all machines, guns could be modified to suit a particular purpose more effectively. But, that was neither here nor there really. The fatigue of the mission was setting in and she wouldn't have the energy to dedicate to modifying a gun like that. Plus, there were easier options. She followed as she was led to a weapon rack. She set her gun down and picked up a Desert Eagle first, but, it simply felt too big and clunky. Not practical for her to use. She then reached for a magnum, but, another caught her eye. It looked like an FNX-45 Tactical. Rail system for attachments, high-rise sights and a threaded barrel. She picked it up and found an appropriate clip with some rounds and ejected all but one, setting them neatly on a table. She approached the range and took aim. She wasn't going to test for accuracy just yet, it was more important to get a feel for the recoil, so, she kept the gun out of line with her head as she aimed down range. Just in case it was more than she expected, she didn't want it to fling back and hit her in the face. She took a moment to prepare herself, and fired. The recoil was definitely more than her old gun and she'd have to do something to reduce it, but, a better fitted grip would probably be enough.
"FNX-fourty-five Tactical? Could do with a modified grip to better fit my hands and maybe a rubber skin around it to help with recoil. But, I like the rail and threading, and a fifteen round clip is pretty good. Semi-Auto. A strobe attachment would be pretty good for disorienting enemies and it's already fitted for a suppressor. Could I trade my old gun for this? It'll offer more flexibility than the nine will. I just need to adjust to it. As for the suit...I still don't know precisely what they'll be sending me as a replacement. They never gave me a model. So, I don't know what I'll need yet. But, I can get a list down when I know. And an AR will be hard to lug around with the suit. Cockpit will be too cramped for it. It's why I went with a handgun and collapsing stun baton. Or, part of the reason anyway."

Amélie Lacroix - Sniper
Amélie watched for a little bit before tucking weapons away. Letting the girl feel around, find HER gun. "Alright, just let me know." Upon mentioning what was needed Amélie immediately pulled it out, having nearly everything one would need. "I’ve got the modifications. But yes, you can trade your old weapon for the new one. As to other weapons here was we need to do; we need to see what your new rig is set for and judge the room, then see what is open space. From their if you can fit a spare weapon with range or a higher fire rate then we set a mount." Grabbing her scroll and showing various mounting ideas. "All up to you though."
