One last time. One last try, and then he was writing this stupid, pointless game off. That decided, he reached in and picked out a duck, trying for one that looked - well, he didn't think it looked like one he'd chosen before, but they all looked the same so he couldn't really say that with any amount of certainty. And -
and -
Holy quack, he'd finally managed to pick a good duck!

Would the infamous duck pond finally let him have his day? Turns out signs pointed to yes! Amazing.

Another dollar, another duck for more candy. At leaat it was lucrative, and Jessie hummed, collecting another duck from the pond. What to do if she won another.. Afgain, families of fallen soldiers came to mind, but maybe her father might know of others who liked stuffies.
Oh well, she just wanted candy anyhow. Owen and Rhian were covered.
...And then Jessie was as she leaned too far for a duck and fell in the pond with an unceremonious splash, the black haired woman blinking in surprise.
AT LEAST THE CANDY WAS SAFE and she set to helop fix her mess sheepishly, sighing.
"Sorry, sorry..."

For a moment, Owen dares to believe his luck had changed. But... another loss later and he had to admit: his moment of triumph had probably been a fluke.

Ducks, thought Lorne. Ducks were easy. They were cute. They were fun. Surely he could -
No. No, he could not. The adorable ducks had betrayed a false sense of ease.

Her brother had finally left. Thank goodness! His date had dragged him off to ride some tunnel of love ride. Eww! Kaileen was good with that.
The only downside to that is that she had no one to carry her winnings. It was OK. She had the keys to the car in her pockets. She would just after tried the duck game again go and put what she had in the cat. Hopefully they would let her back inside the fair

Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy For her next attempt at trying to find the duck she quickly reached in and fished around and pulled out a duck that she managed to get her hands on. She held her breath as she pulled up another duck. This time it had the smiley symbol that she was looking for. With a smile, she handed it over to the clerk at the duck station and was handed the brown dog stuffed animal. Smiling she hugged it and put it into her bag. The next time that Evren circled around to play the duck game she bent down and picked another duck. Of course, this duck that she selected was not another winner so she placed it down and went back to taking a short break from playing carnival games. After a round of carnie games, Evren returned to the duck station. Leaning down after paying the attendant she picked up another floating duck and on the bottom was the smile symbol that she had gotten the second time she picked up one of the ducks. With that, she was handed another stuffed animal this time the pink rabbit. Looking at the lines of prizes that were all over the fair she realized she only had one more large stuffed animal to win before she had them all. Smiling at the stuffed creature she walked away to take a quick break and enjoy the other sights at the fair. Of course, when Evren returned the duck she turned over wasn't a winning duck. Evren saw the probability of winning twice in a row as unlikely. Huffing she smiled as she shook her head and walked away to wait for her next turn. Another turn another duck. Of course, this duck was not a winning duck but it was a very nice duck. Evren had to giggle at her thought process a little as she put the duck back with all the others. With a twitch of her nose, Evren picked up another duck that wasn't a winner. Puckering her lips she put the duck back and went to go take a short break. Evren decided that this turn would be her last on the ducks. Simply because she’s spent a lot of money on these carnival games and it was sounding more and more like a good idea to stop. As she picked up a duck from the pond there was no winning emblem on the bottom. While it would have been nice to complete the stuffed animal collection she was feeling satisfied with her results. Putting the duck down Evren got up and walked away from the fair games for the last time.

Ducks were still stupid and they just betrayed her all the time. There was a reason why, as a superhero, she represented geese, which were superior. She had read things online about ducks. They were creepy anyway.
Nevertheless, she had to win every game, and that included this one, so she dunked her hand into the water and attempted to dig out a duck that somehow got itself wedged under the others. Clearly that was a proper prize duck, right?
No, no it wasn't.85

Jessie didn't mind being soaled. Water meant cooling off some, and Jessie was fine since the candy was nice and safe. Still, she needed to dry, and so she reached, paying up to pull another few ducks, one duck at a time.

Was - had some lady just fallen into the duck game? Owen was so distracted by that sight that he almost forgot to pick a duck of his own. Oh well, it wasn't a winner anyway.
