Tevini knew her job. She scurried over and got to work. Three clicks here and two twists... One cap off and she was done! Turning back to Lorata, Tevini nodded. Then she nodded to Forera and moved away. She did not want to get hit in the cross fire of this body slam! Tevini was pretty sure Forera could crush her bones and grind them up into oatmeal for breakfast. She was fine being the background nerd here.
"It's all your's!" Tevini smiled nervously, bracing herself for the oncoming sound.

And Tevini detrapped the door again! Forera pat Tevini's back excitedly, a bit more forceful than intended, before preparing herself again. With a fierce kick to the lock, the tealblood slammed the door open easily, releasing a loud grunt in the process. Wait a second, what was that...!

"Oh my Glub," Lorata gasped, free hand lifting to cover her mouth as her expression shifted into sheer horror. Of all the things they'd seen up here in space, this abomination was the worst. Had it always been like this, some bizarre lusus left to rot with the others? Had it mutated into this? And if the latter, what could cause such a thing...She didn't want to think about the implications of that thought process, so she put it away and went in for an attack instead.

Cerpin punches the boss Damage: 6 Boss HP: 29/40 9/21 advances 3/4 minibosses defeated
"Dude, you're ******** NASTY." Cerpin groaned at the sight and the stench of the abomination in front of them. He almost felt bad for it, it was clearly some kind of tormented mutation. There was only one thing to do and that was to put it out of its misery. Cerpin flexed his shoulders and sized the monster up, twirling the handle of his sword in his hand playfully. Though honestly, he mostly just wanted to throw up at the vision of the beast, he was looking forward to taking it down due to its size. Lunging forward, he drove a strong strike straight through its midsection before pulling back. Some kind of foul liquid spewed out of it onto his legs and he gagged. Man, he had just gotten a new jumpsuit too! He wasn't sure he would want to use this one again even after it was washed.

It was started to thrash around lopsided which meant it was getting weaker. Cerpin circled around it, looking for a good opening. His own movements were slowly down as well which meant he wasn't going to be as quick as he had been at the start of this ship. Tapping his fingers on the flat part of his sword, he let the others distract it for a moment before slicing through part of the creature's arm and taking a chunk of its limb off.
"Perore, I got ya something-" He kicked its back and propelled it towards her, "Back!"

It was almost sad, watching the thing fumble around weakly. She would've felt bad for it if it wasn't some sort of melted combination of lusi, daywalkers, and whatever the ******** else was on this ship. And look, the control panel was right there! Forera cracked her knuckles and rolled her shoulders. It was time for the big punches.

Punch, kick, shove-- At this point, it was almost routine to Forera, but she managed a couple hits before jumping backwards and pulling out her missile launcher again, aiming it at the creature and shooting it from afar. At this point, the best thing to do for the sickly thing was put it out of its misery. "Curly-- Ya think ya can...?"

The abomination was horrible, truly a masterpiece of terror. Tevini flinched at the sight of it and backed away as her team went it. She didn't understand why it was so unsettling to her though. She'd grown up in a junk yard and seen incredibly gross things tossed in. From trash to... dead bodies occasionally... and some things she still couldn't describe. So why was this one so much worse?
Then she considered. Had it been a troll at one point?
The image of needles and drugs... vials of chemicals shot into the skin... submerged in tanks for sweeps... all in the name of progress. What if this was an experiment gone wrong? Tevini swallowed, wondering what other experiments were going on even now. She couldn't stop them all. She could barely stop the things happening in her own life.
But maybe she needed to consider thinking beyond that. A certain tealblood was known for the unsettling tests she was conducting. She'd learned the girl was now a lieutenant in the army, or a trial one for now. If she continued to grow in power, what kind of horrible medical programs and infusions would she try to enact? The thought was terrible to bear as she fired a nail straight into the abomination's skull.
"Got it." The redblood murmured quietly, watching the creature die. But the true monster lived on, somewhere out among these very stars.

Lorata stepped into the control room, limping more than a little but unable to contain her excitement long enough to rest. The controls were just here, and all she had to do was power up the ship to see what state it was really in. As screens throughout the room lit up, she held her breath. Then, a moment later, she let out a breathy laugh.
"It still works!" It took a long moment to compose herself again, to stop grinning at the rest of the squadron long enough to do the rest of her job, but eventually she reached up to her communicator. "Headquarters, this is Sergeant Lorata Gorgos, currently on mission in the culler ship designated The Vicious Revenge of the Empress. We're ready for a helmsman."
