"Scorpa! You're bleeding badly." True alarm and concern showed on Flydra's face and for a rare moment the doctor was visibly upset. She hurried to pull out her medical kit and got to work fishing out wipes to disinfect and clean the worst of the areas. The chemicals would sting and burn but it would kill the rotten germs floating around this cursed ship. They could not let whatever turned the corpses into daywalkers infect their wounds. Wrapping up the wounds with pads of gauze and bandages, she straightened up to reach her moirail and plant an affectionate kiss on her cheek. Scorpa always felt best when she was being showered in attention and adoration which were certainly easy enough for Flydra to supply!
Buffel watched the good doctor heal Flydra, a moderate amount of concern across his face. The tealblood's face was one of panic and worry, and yet Buffel watched as her hands moved quickly and methodically, the actual care coming so naturally to her it was as if it was an afterthought. He turned away politely at the cheek peck, respecting their privacy as moirails. Looking to Lorata, he wondered how the only Siren he hadn't shared more than a cursory moment with was really like. From just this mission she seemed to be much more pleasant at first glance. Maybe he ought to get to know her some more?

"Ah!" Scorpa winced as the treatment stung. She didn't flinch, though. Flydra had patched her up so many time now that her body was used to it. She'd learned how to brace and prepare herself for these moments. Pouting from the pain, as she was really starting to hate this place, Flydra's affectionate kiss was well timed to up her morale. Giving the tealblood an appreciative look and then hugging her tight, Scorpa was rejuvenated. She would take every opportunity to hug her moirail!
"Thanks, doc. I feel better already!" The warrior grinned and moved back into formation! In the next room she dove straight into searching and discovered an old first aid kit! It was pretty sparce though and she could only salvage one interesting looking bandaid from it.
Just a little further, she told herself again. The open room they'd found was a promising omen that they were getting somewhere. If they just kept this up a little longer, they'd have a nice pincer to go on their records again. They were going to do this, for sure.

Flydra is checking the hallway for open doors and found one 13/16 advances 1/3 minibosses defeated
"Ah! I thought I saw something." Flydra flinched as she watched shadows move across the hallways. Being on this ship for so long was starting to wear on her mentally. Maybe she ought to have another visit with Psykgi to work through some more baggage. It felt like it was getting harder to keep the flickering lights from some damage to the ship distinct from the shadows of daywalkers shuffling around down the hallways. She ducked into an open room to catch her breath and sank down against one of the walls for a breather. She was feeling miserable that they weren't doing well this time and struggling to keep calm.

Scorpa finds some tame mutant undead space gerbils!

"What's in here?" Peeking her head into another room, Scorpa discovered a room of more zombie space gerbils. They didn't seem interesting in attacking which was great! Flydra and Lorata avoided looking at them and she felt a little bad about that reaction. They'd been through some rough times with gerbils lately. Still, she packed them up anyway. Once they were back at the dorms she'd talk to Flydra about using them for her research. The fact that these zombie gerbils didn't seem to be behaving out of control was intriguing to her and surely Flydra could take some samples from their bio-matter.
"Onward!" For now though, she wouldn't push the subject and instead marched on after them.
Buffel was glad to see Scorpa up and moving just fine, and followed her into the room to search. As she came across more zombie varmints, he readied his finger-gun, but realized soon that these particular little rascals meant no harm. As Scorpa stashed 'em away, Buffel gave her a slight nudge as they moved forward. ”Hey Scorpa,” he whispered quietly, ”any chance I could nab one of those little varmints from ya when we're back on Alternia? Not the whole lot o' course, just...just one, if that's okay.”
Lorata stared blankly down the hallway, already sure of what they would find if they followed it. Zombies, of course. It was always zombies. The longer they stayed on this ship, the more zombies they would find. Or open doors. She let out a sigh of relief as she stepped through the doorway to have a look.

Flydra checks the open room for stuff and finds undead gerbils 14/16 advances 1/3 minibosses defeated
The next door they opened delivered them to another room full of undead gerbils. After the last encounter, Flydra wanted nothing to do with them and refused to go inside. She couldn't imagine Lorata wanting to see them either. They had been through too much hell over gerbils these past few months.
She slammed the door shut and pointed down a different hallway to try. They were just going to pretend like that had not happened. They would be out of here soon and back on their ship headed down to Alternia. She would be back in her room with her girls, giggling over the weird and silly things they had experienced on the ships and in the tower instead of the depressing reality of endless hordes of zombies.
She did her best to discreetly rub at an eye and took a deep breath before reaching out to take Scorpa's hand.

More zombie gerbils? Wow this ship was a motherload! Scorpa waited for Flydra to continue on before opening the door and gathering the second batch of undead gerbils. If Flydra really hated them maybe she could sell them as pets. Or hide them in Kursha's underwear drawer back at headquarters. She'd find a use for them somewhere. For now she ignored the squirming in her bag and followed the rest of the group down the corridor some more.
No zombies. Lorata blinked at the hallway, tilted her head and listened. Nothing. Not a single shuffle of a footstep or lingering groan. It was truly an empty hallway. And there at the end, she saw, was a door. It looked like a control room maybe. Glub she hoped it was the control room.

You come across a sealed door in the hallway. Trying to open it sends dozens of warnings flickering up on previously-dormant panels. It seems the ship beyond here is too heavily damaged to allow you to pass through. Headquarters confirms the ship is to be destroyed, and you retreat to the exit, leaving the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions along the path.
Congratulations! You have completed your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in!
