Blushing lightly at Satoshi’s words, she looked down a bit in embarrassment and shame. She shouldn’t have hung up on him, he was right. She’d called him, crying and practically hysterical, only to hang up on him when he was driving. It wasn’t the smartest thing she could have done. Feeling even worse, she didn’t have any excuse for her actions. He’d been worried about her, and he still was.

Looking up at him, she was surprised and touched as he reached out to dry her tears. He smiled down at her, encouraging her to cheer up. She couldn’t thank him enough for being her with her. As soon as she’d told him about her dream, she’d felt better. She couldn’t thank him enough.

Feeling exhausted from all the crying and the anxiety, she felt suddenly very tired. But the last thing she wanted to do was go back to sleep. To her surprise, Satoshi suggested something that she’d never have had the courage to ask. Eyes going a bit wide, she felt her cheeks color with a blush. ‘Oh my gosh…I want to say yes…but…oh screw it.’ There was no way he asking her if she wanted him to sleep in her bed with her. He wasn’t that kind of guy.

“That would make me feel better…” Slipping out of his embrace, she immediately felt cold from his lack of heat. Moving to the side of her bed she grabbed her pillows before asking him to grab the comforter and an extra one from her closet. Leading the way into the living room, she went about making two sleeping spots on the sectional. With the pillows piled into the corner of the ‘L’, they’d both be able to sleep close to one another, even hold hands if they wanted, and sleep soundly in their own space.

Once their little nests were set up, she turned on the TV and put on ‘Howl’s Movie Castle’ one of her ‘feel good’ movies for when she was sick or upset. She didn’t know how long Satoshi would stay with her, but if she fell asleep, she didn’t want him to be bored. Laying down on the shorter side of the couch, she nestled in while Satoshi did the same. Once they were both comfortable, and the movie began to play in the background, she felt herself begin to drift. Laying on her side, turning to look at Satoshi, she extended her hand out toward him. “Sato…will you hold my hand, at least until I fall asleep?” It felt childish, but she needed some kind of contact with him and she doubted he'd want to lay with her like Kasai and Oriko did every night during their after dinner movies...

He had to stop himself from tightening his grip when she slid from his arms, but her acceptance of his offer calmed him with relief that she wasn't going to push him away. Sato gladly scooped up the blanket from the bed and another from her linen closet before following her out into the living room. Yes, the living room is a smart choice, last thing I need is Kasai or Mr. Yamada finding me in her bed. Not that Satoshi himself would mind, but he quite liked his head where it was at the moment.

It took no time at all to help set up the couches, Sato lay down with his covers against the back of the couch, he was quite warm as it was in his street clothes. He loved the pick of movie, and was getting into it when he heard Kori's voice asking of him the sweetest thing. Turning to meet her gaze he smiled and accepted her hand, a rush of warmth spread through him as he felt how soft and delicate her skin was. "Certainly, Kori. Get some rest, sweet dreams." He held onto her hand until she was sound asleep, once he was confident she wouldn't wake up he drew himself forward enough to place a soft kiss on the back of her hand. It wasn't much long after that Sato himself passed out once the adrenalin from his race had left him.

Given how much sleep he’d gotten the day before between the nap and falling asleep during the movies, Kasai awoke much earlier than normal. Slipping out of bed, he kissed Oriko on the forehead before pulling on a pair of sweat pants over his boxers. Stepping out of his bedroom, he was surprised to see Kori’s door wide open and her bed empty. Frowning, he peeked inside but saw no trace of his sister. In fact, her cell phone was lying on the floor next to her bed. Concerned, he searched her room before heading out into the main areas of the apartment. To his surprise, he caught sight of his sister sleeping on the couch, holding someone’s hand. At first, he didn’t recognize who was lying on the couch. His first thought was Hayate, but considering the guy wasn’t covered in tattoos, he knew that wasn’t the case. Approaching the two, he arched a brow when he realized that the guy sleeping on his couch, holding his sister’s hand while they slept was none other than Satoshi.

‘Well, this is an interesting turn of events.’ He knew the two had been spending quite a bit of time together recently and it seemed that they were taking a liking to one another – not that he minded. Kori’s relationship with Hayate had started to sour since his ex-girlfriend Julie had returned to Ouran Academy. Hayate thought he was slick, spending so much time with her behind Kori’s back, but he was in for a rude awakening.

Smirking lightly to himself, Kasai headed back to his bedroom to grab his cellphone. Returning to the living room, he took a few pics of Kori and Satoshi on the couch, their hands clasped together. He didn’t mind the idea of Satoshi courting his sister, he was a good guy and in all honesty, she deserved better than Hayate. Someday soon, he was going to get the a** kicking he deserved. Pocketing his phone, he turned and headed for the kitchen to make some breakfast for everyone.

Not long after Kasai had gathered his ‘evidence’, Kori came awake to the sound of someone moving around in the kitchen. It wasn’t until she opened her eyes and began to get her bearings that she remembered the events of the night before and the fact that she’d had a terrible nightmare – and that she’d called Satoshi, who had rushed to her side to comfort her. Realizing that she was still on the couch and that her hand was still grasping Satoshi’s, she felt her cheeks color in a light blush. Smiling to herself, she took the opportunity to observe his sleeping face. ‘He looks so peaceful…’ Not to mention handsome. Although she was still technically dating Hayate, she couldn’t help but be attracted to Satoshi too. But, in her mind, he was her bodyguard and more than three years her senior. There was no way he was interested in someone like her.

With that thought in mind, she was reluctant to let go of his hand, but she knew that she had to. Satoshi wasn’t hers to keep. Yes, he was her body guard and he was employed to look out for her wellbeing, but that was the extent of his job description and duties. She’d called him when she’d been in distress and he’d come to her aid. She wanted to think that the reasoning behind his actions held a deeper meaning, but she couldn’t assume anything – that line of thinking would only end up hurting her.

Taking care to be gentle, Kori slowly released her hand from Satoshi’s. To her relief, he didn’t stir once his hand was freed. Slipping out of her little nest, she stretched her arms wide and yawned deeply. Heading for the closest bathroom, she relieved herself before brushing her teeth and fixing her bed head. She could only imagine what she’d looked like last night when Satoshi had found her. ‘Don’t even think about that Kor, you’ll only make yourself feel like crap…’ She thought with a frown as she splashed water on her face. Once she was freshened up, she headed for the kitchen.
Kori fully expected to see Oriko moving around the kitchen making breakfast, but to her surprise it was Kasai. Not usually a morning person, it was very odd to see him up so early making breakfast. With an apron hung over his bare chest, he was currently making eggs and bacon, the smell of which was quickly filling the apartment. “Good morning, Kas.” Kori said as she approached him to give him his morning hug and kiss on the cheek. Doing just that, she wrapped an arm around him before placing a loving kiss on his cheek, which made her brother smile happily.

“Morning, Kor. I saw that we had some company last night. Was everything okay?” He asked casually as he flipped the bacon over. Kori, caught a bit off guard by the question, blushed a bit. “Yeah…I had a pretty nasty nightmare last night and I called Satoshi.” Kas glanced at her from over his shoulder, a frown on his face. Nightmare duty was normally his thing, but he didn’t question why Kori hadn’t come to him instead – he already knew the answer, she hadn’t bothered him because of Oriko.

“I was planning on making him breakfast to say ‘thank you’, so why don’t I help?” The perfect team, Kori and Kasai had a full breakfast ready in no time; eggs, bacon, toast, slices of fruit and orange juice were all made and ready to go. Kasai, wanting to surprise Oriko with breakfast in bed, made up a tray before heading to his room. Figuring it was easiest to do the same for Satoshi, Kori made a tray for herself and one for Satoshi. Carrying them both one by one into the living room, she placed them on the coffee table before kneeling next to Satoshi, who still slept soundly, his hand still held out as it had been when she’d gotten up.

Slipping her hand back into his, she squeezed it lightly before whispering his name to gently wake him up. “Satoshi~…Sato…Satoshi~, it’s time to wake up…” She said gently, lightly squeezing his hand again and again. “Wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey~” She said with a small laugh, her head tilted to the side as she watched him closely.

Kasai entered his bedroom, tray in hand. Placing it on his night stand, he crawled back into bed and cuddle up close to Oriko. Nuzzling his neck affectionately, he smiled and simply enjoyed having his boyfriend close. “Wakey, wakey~.” He said with a smile, having no idea that at the same moment, Kori had said practically the same thing to Satoshi to wake him up.

Lightly kissing Oriko’s face and neck, he couldn’t help but realize how lucky he was to have Oriko in his life. Yes, they’d been friends for years, but now they were so much more. He’d heard several people say, ‘marry your best friend’. Given time, Kasai planned on doing just that…

Satoshi had been in the midst of a wild dream, racing more cars than he could possibly imagine in his waking mind. Head and tail lights blazing all around him, he couldn't see when the next turn was coming. Driving blind it didn't take long for the herd of vehicles to force him into the safety rail, a solid bump from that blasted yellow Skyline sent him over the edge of the cliff and all Sato could hear was his own panic stricken voice yelling curses as he watched the ground come rushing up to greet him.

“Satoshi~…Sato…Satoshi~, it’s time to wake up…” He seemed to be falling forever as the voice came to him through his dream. Frantically he struggled to realize that he was indeed dreaming. His grip tightened on the steering wheel, but his one hand didn't feel the firm squeeze of leather that was his steering cover, rather, the soft gentle hold of Kori's hand came through, in the waking world his hand flexed around hers briefly. “Wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey~” The ground was finally drawing nearer as the voice spoke again, the most adorable laugh he'd ever heard rang in his ears mere seconds before the earth was at his windshield.

Eyes flying open he gasped softly, peering up he saw Kori smiling down to him. Taking a slow breath he smiled back, glad that she looked well rested. "Good morning Sunshine, did you sleep well?" It didn't take much for him to shake off the dream, they happened every so often, Satoshi figured it was just his subconscious telling him to he careful on the track.

It was a surprise and a half that Kasai had gotten up before him, the feel of sweet kisses all over his face and neck brought him to wakefulness within seconds. Chuckling loudly he snared his arms around Kasai and held him close to return the affection between small fits of laughter. Once they settled Oriko looked over to see the food on the nightstand, smirking up to Kas he lightly tickled his sides. "So sweet~ Breakfast in bed, what a wonderful way to wake up." He cooed while nuzzling Kasai's cheek before planting a soft kiss to it.

"What's the itinerary for today? More a** kicking? Or did you maybe want to step outside and get some fresh air?" He'd just woken up, but Oriko's mind was going a mile a minute, wanting to cram as much together time into the weekend as possible, dreading the return home.

Kori didn’t miss the small gasp Satoshi released when he woke up. Her immediate thought was that she’d startled him awake, but she also had to wonder if she’d awoken him from an unpleasant dream. As he smiled up at her, she couldn’t help but return the look. It was only she felt his fingers flex a bit around hers that she realized that she was still holding his hand in her own. Blushing a bit, she slowly slipped her fingers out of his, not wanting to act like she was embarrassed by getting caught holding his hand…hell, they’d held hands throughout the night, it wasn’t a bit deal…

Despite feeling a bit embarrassed she was amused by the nickname and had to wonder if he’d overheard Akio calling Aiya ‘Sunshine’ at some point. It was Akio’s pet name for his girlfriend and best friend, Aiya and it suited her perfectly.

“Yeah, thanks to you, Satoshi…I couldn’t have gotten through last night without you here.” She said with a bit of a sheepish smile. “To say thank you, I made you some breakfast.” She said before turning to grab the tray off of the coffee table. Holding it out, she waited until he was in a seated position before laying it over his lap for his convenience. “Kas and I didn’t know how you like your eggs, so we went with scrambled with a touch of cheese.” Who didn’t like scrambled eggs with cheese?

Grabbing her own tray, she sat back in the middle of her nest and placed it over her lap before grabbing a piece of bacon to munch on. As she nibbled at her breakfast, she had to wonder what Satoshi would do with his second day off. It was a school night, technically, but that didn’t seem to stop him from having fun at night – he was an adult after all. In only 2 short weeks, Kori would finally be eighteen and a legal adult in her own right. It was so weird to think about…Not to mention that his was her last year at Ouran as well. Soon she’d be thinking about college or taking over her role within the family company. Not wanting to think about it just yet, she turned her attention back to her breakfast and her company.

“I was thinking about going to the movies today, maybe dragging Kasai and Oriko along so they actually go outside this weekend…” She said with a small laugh and a smile. “You wanna come too? I mean if you don’t have any plans…”

He had to stop himself from keeping her from taking her hand away, her skin was wonderfully soft and it was nice to feel in his grasp. Sitting up to lay sore eyes on the meal she had brought out for him and herself he let out a small groan of appreciation. "Oh you wonderful angel, I love scrambled eggs, you're just spoiling me with the cheese ontop." As far as nicknames go he was honestly testing the waters on what sounded right, and so far Angel seemed more suitable for Kori than anything else, for now though he would ease into it, curious what she would think.

Pushing away the covers and reaching out for his tray Satoshi dug into the food, it was insane how hungry he was after a night full of racing and running to the rescue of his precious damsel in distress. He was a big fan of having his eggs scrambled, he couldn't stand the texture of running yolks and well done always tasted a bit on the chalky side. It seemed like no one could cook an egg just right for him to enjoy it, unless they were scrambled. Paired with bacon and he was sold, smiling over to Kori he had to wonder what she might have dreamed about when he had held her hand through the night. Did she think about him at all? Or was he just a body guard that was overstepping his boundaries?

Then she went and asked if he wanted to join her and the guys at the movies, naturally he wanted to, and there was no obligation to attend tonight's fun run. "That sounds like fun, what movie were you thinking? Or are you just wanting to check out titles when we get there?" Of course there were going to be a few conditions for him to join them, none of which he though Kori would object to, the boys maybe but he wouldn't care as much. "Two things, one: no zombies, and two: I drive." He loved playing chauffeur for the gang, it was a fun part of his day.

Kori had to admit, she was liking these little nicknames. So far, Angel was her favorite – Sunshine just reminded her too much of Akio and that was just weird, he was like a big brother! But she was glad that Satoshi liked scrambled eggs. It was usually hit or miss with most people; you either love ‘em or you hate ‘em.

Satoshi’s ‘conditions’ for the movie were not only sweet, but thoughtful. He wasn’t outright saying it, but he was worried that Kori would have more nightmares and he wanted to prevent that from happening. Although she wouldn’t mind him comforting her again if she did happen to have more nightmares tonight, she'd prefer not to wake up in a panic every night. She could always pretend to have a nightmare…but no, she wasn’t going there!

“Kas and I have been wanting to see The Accountant, but we’ve been waiting for the crowds to die down. It’s been a few weeks since it came out, so I figured today was a safe bet and a good excuse to get out of the house for a while.” Not to mention she didn’t want to be cooped up with Kas and Oriko being all lovey dovey with each other while she acted like a third wheel. Not that she wasn’t happy for them! She’d just prefer it if she had someone to be lovey dovey with and Hayate wasn’t fulfilling his role anymore. “And I think you’re conditions are perfectly acceptable. I call shotgun though, Kas and Oriko can sit in the back.” She said with a smile before nibbling on a piece of fruit.

Breakfast was delicious, as always and with such good company, Kori was tempted to make Sunday morning brunch with Satoshi a regular occurrence. They could put on cartoons and make pancakes and just laze about in their pajamas…it sounded like an ideal Sunday to her…Maybe, sometime in the future they could have a Sunday morning like that. In the meantime, she needed to figure out what to do about her so-called ‘Boyfriend’. Not to mention she still needed to get Kas his birthday present…Before she knew it, she was finally going to be eighteen!

The movie of choice didn't sound too bad, he nodded in agreement and smiled. "Sounds like a good pick." He didn't think something called 'The Accountant' would be nightmare inducing so there were no sensible objections on his part. Satoshi couldn't help but smirk when Kori called shotgun, leaving the lovebirds the backseat. "Fair enough, they better not fog up my windows though." He laughed a bit at this, considering how inseparable the two were it was amazing their lips hadn't fuzed together.

Finishing up his breakfast he stood up and began folding the blanket that he'd been using, tucking it neatly off to the side with his pillow set on top. Sitting back down in the corner near to Kori he smiled thoughtfully. "Maybe we can hit up the mall ahead of time and do a little window shopping before the feature?" He needed something nice to put his presents for the twins in, it was the last piece of the gifts that he needed. Plus, he figured Kori might like another shot at picking something up for her brother, considering how well her last attempt went.

The movie was one of the better depictions of what life could be like when associated with a mafia family, that Kori and Kasai had seen so far. Satoshi seemed to have enjoyed the film as well, and to her delight, he’d chosen to sit next to her for the film. At one part, Kori had jumped from fright, only to feel Satoshi’s hand cover her own in a small show of comfort. The gesture had not only comforted her, but brought a deep blush to her cheeks and a warmth to her heart. He hadn’t removed his hand until the end of the movie…not that she’d wanted him to…

After the movie, Oriko and Kasai had opted to do a bit of shopping at the mall – most likely to look for her birthday present, which left her and Satoshi to look around for Kasai’s gift. In the end, she’d found him a couple of vintage video games that he’d been wanting to pick up as well as a few comic books that he could add to his already enormous collection. They’d also bought bags, tissue and wrapping paper to wrap everything in. By the end of the night, they’d all opted to go out to eat instead of heading home to cook.

After some amazing sushi and miso ramen, their little group wandered around the park, enjoying the evening air before they’d headed back to the high rise to enjoy a few short hours until Oriko needed to head home and the rest of them needed to head to bed.

That night, Kori laid in bed, a happy smile on her face. With each passing day, she felt like she as drifting farther away from Hayate and closer to Satoshi…But she wasn’t upset about it. It was a natural transition and one that she wasn’t willing to necessarily fight. With her thoughts full of what she should do, she fell asleep and dreamed of Satoshi…

    ----

    -Friday Afternoon-

The week had gone by much like Kori had expected it to. Classes were pretty standard; Club activities had resumed after a small hiatus and Kori had gone back to her usual routine. Monday morning, Hayate had been waiting at the front of the Academy to meet her and walk her to class – he hadn’t done this since Julie had come back to school. It seemed that since Kori had ditched him at the mall, he’d realized how much he was ******** up. He’d walked her to class every morning this week and had made it a point to visit her during lunch and after school at the Club as well. He’d wanted to make plans to hang out after her hostess activities, but she’d declined – there was no way she was going to get ditched again.

All week she’d been contemplating what to do about her relationship with Hayate. Now that he was paying attention to her again, she was feeling conflicted about breaking up with him. He really was a sweet guy and he’d been so thoughtful and romantic when they’d first started dating…She suspected that, like her, he was conflicted about what his heart wanted. On the one hand, he had Kori, his new girlfriend…and on the other, he had Julie, who was his first love and someone that held a special place in his heart. Kori understood that he was sorting through his feelings, but the longer he took, the more irritated she became and the more she just wanted to be done with him. Just when she’d begun to get close to a point where she could let him go, he’d begun to reel her back in.

With the weekend ahead of her, she was just looking forward to enjoying the weather. It was overcast outside, the rain clouds grey and purple. The sky was threatening to rain and she couldn’t wait. Rainy days were her favorite. She didn’t know why, but good things always seemed to happen on rainy days…not that nothing bad had never happen on a rainy day…but she had more good memories on rainy days than bad ones.

Placing the tea tray in the back room, she wished Minako a good weekend before heading back into the Club to grab her bag. She’d made plans to meet up with Satoshi to go grab some warm drinks and head to the park they’d visited the week before. She was looking forward to just taking a stroll with Sato and talking about random things. They’d been hanging out almost nightly – if he didn’t already have plans in the evening – and she found that they were becoming very good friends and she couldn’t have been happier about it.

Slinging her book bag over her shoulder, she bid the other girls good night before stepping out into the hall and heading for the parking lot to meet Satoshi at his car. He’d taken her out on several drives over the last few days and she’d loved it. She was halfway tempted to get her own car, but there wasn’t really a need – someone was always with her and if she drove then her bodyguard/whoever was watching her would have to follow behind. It would just be too much of a hassle. Stepping out the front doors of Ouran Academy, she headed straight for the faculty parking lot and smiled wide when she caught sight of Satoshi, leaning against the side of his car, waiting for her.

During classes through the week, Satoshi found himself daydreaming of his weekend with Kori more than once a day. Holding her hand was one of the big things that stuck in his mind, he couldn't get over how smooth her skin was and how delicate those artistic digits were. From there on out the nickname 'Angel' stuck, she was a wonderful porcelain angel, and he had to keep her safe. Thinking about this as he leaned against the hood of his car, Sato felt like one of those chivalrous knights he'd seen in a few western movies, charged with protecting the grace and dignity of their Ladies. The one thing he couldn't really do anything about however was starting to irritate him greatly; Hayate, there was just something fishy about the guy and Sato could smell it from a mile away. It seriously bothered him that the creep only started picking up the pace when he was ditched at the mall. Sato had even gotten to the point where he'd begun to sit in on Kori's Host Club activities on the Wednesday to keep an eye on the pair. For Kori's sake, he told himself. He was loving all the time they were spending together after class, and the best part was that it didn't feel as if it were just in order for him to be doing his job as her body guard.

Tilting his head back to stare straight up into the sky, he smiled to himself as he wished for the clouds to crack open and rain down on him. Sure a part of him wanted to hear the squeals of terror from some of the girls walking by without umbrellas, but the rain against the sheet metal of his car was pure bliss and he had begun to miss it. Hearing footsteps approaching and the door of the building closing in the distance he dragged his attention down from the sky, all reluctance evaporating at the sight of Kori heading his way. "There she is!" He announced for no one in particular, grinning and moving to open the passenger door for her. With the notion of knights and chivalry still in his mind Sato even went so far as to bow his head and give a slight bend of knee while flourishing his arm towards the passenger seat inside. "My Lady." He added with a chuckle before zipping around to the driver's side and hopping in.

Satoshi didn't waste time, knowing exactly where they were off to and made for the wonderful coffee shop he'd taken her to the first time they grabbed a coffee together. "Maybe we can ask if they have any stale bread for the ducks? Think we can find a few to feed?" He suggested while waiting for a red light to change, unless the roads were empty Sato behaved himself during their drives, but when he had the chance he loved hearing her giggles as he banked them around corners or sped down straightaways. Once they collected their drinks and were heading to the park however he picked up his game a little bit, the impending inclement weather deterring most from being out on the road. His driving was so smooth, if Kori were to watch her drink she'd be able to notice that the liquid wasn't disturbed in the slightest by the movements he was making. Satoshi's passion for driving was second only to his love of literature.

Satoshi’s broad smile and enthusiastic greeting made Kori smile happily. She was beginning to see him not as her bodyguard, but as her friend. Yes, he still worked for her father and yes, he was expected to guard her, but they had a lot of fun hanging out together. She loved it. It was just like the relationship Kasai and Kori had with Akio – he was an ‘employee’ but more importantly he was a friend and a member of the family. Smirking at his bow and flourish as he opened her door for her, she laughed lightly – he certainly knew how to make a girl feel like a Princess.

In no time, they were on the road and headed to the coffee shop. It didn’t take them long to get their drinks and a little after school snack. Enjoying the ride, she felt little bursts of adrenaline as Satoshi drifted corners and sped down straight aways when he could. It was so much fun riding with him. She was halfway tempted to ask if he was a street racer – he certainly had the skills to be one…

But before she could ask him, she was pulled from her thoughts by their arrival at the park. Since leaving the school the rain clouds above them had only darkened more, but Kori didn’t mind in the least. She hoped it would rain. Stepping out of the car, their drinks in hand, Kori handed Satoshi his tea as she fell into step beside him. They kept a leisurely pace, taking their time to walk around the area just enjoying the fall colors as they walked the path. With the impending rain, there weren’t very many people in the area. She didn’t blame them, most people hated the rain, which was a pity really. Those people didn’t know what they were missing!

By the time they’d finished their drinks and had tossed the cups, the first raindrops began to fall. Looking to Satoshi, Kori smiled wide. Taking a step ahead of him, Kori spread her arms and did a little twirl in place, her face pointed upwards as the drops fell on her slowly. “I was hoping it would rain while we were walking.” She laughed before dropping her arms to look at Satoshi with a smile. She knew that he liked driving in the rain, but she wasn’t sure if he’d want to walk in it. To her surprise and delight he didn’t run for cover like the other people in the area.

No sooner had they began to continue their walk, did the rain really start to come down. First it was a sprinkle, then a steady trickle but in no time, it was pouring down on them, coming down in literal sheets of water. Laughing, completely amused by the change in weather, she just smiled and let the water completely drench her. She and Satoshi splashed in the large puddles and strolled through the small ones. Eventually, they came to a large Japanese Maple tree whose leaves were already changing a brilliant red. Coming to stand under the shelter of its leaves, she wiped the extra droplets off her face with her hands before looking to Satoshi with a smile. His once stylishly spiked hair was now limp and plastered to his scalp – she could feel her hair doing the same. They were both completely soaked through, their clothes sticking to their skin, dripping with water - but they both seemed to love it.

Standing there, under the maple, the rain coming down around them, Kori felt a child chill run up her spine. Wrapping her arms around her torso, she shivered a bit, goosebumps appearing on her skin. Satoshi, not missing a thing, immediately moved to wrap an arm around her to pull her close to share his warmth. Despite him being soaked through as well, he was still warm and she appreciated the extra heat and the feel of his arms wrapped around her. Tipping her head back, she smiled up at him. “Thanks, Sato…” As she spoke, her gaze moved over his face. Satoshi was a handsome man, but even drenched, he still looked amazing. Small droplets of water clung to his eyelashes and face. As she gazed up at him, she found her gaze moving from his eyes to his lips. Subconsciously, she nibbled her bottom lip for a moment, hardly realizing that she was longing for a kiss while gazing up at him in a provocative way.

But Satoshi noticed…Feeling his hold around her tighten a bit, her gaze moved from his lips to his eyes for a moment. She could see a change in his gaze. Before, the look in his eyes had told her that he was a bit concerned about her being chilled, but now, there was a heat in his gaze.

As if sensing a dilemma within him, Kori nodded ever so slightly, before leaning in a bit, her gaze moving from his eyes to his lips once more. It seemed that Satoshi didn’t need any more invitation than that. Leaning in, they both closed their eyes just as their lips touched in a warm, loving, gentle kiss. Placing her hands on his chest, she lightly grasped his damp shirt as he held her a bit tighter. As the kiss lingered on, Kori tilted her head to the side a bit, allowing for better access. As she did, her lips parted slightly in a silent invitation for Satoshi to deepen the kiss, if he so chose. To her delight, he accepted, and soon they were kissing one another deeply. Hands slipping up his chest, she wrapped her arms around the back of his neck to pull him a bit closer. As she did, he pulled her into him, holding her close to his body.

Lost in their kiss, their tongues moving against one another in a coordinated dance, Kori let herself go. She didn’t care about Hayate, or him ignoring her. She didn’t care that Satoshi was her body guard and technically someone who should be ‘off limits’ to her. No, in those lingering moments she was just a girl and he was just a boy, kissing her under the fiery leaves of the maple tree. Once their lips parted, Kori slowly opened her eyes to look up into Satoshi’s. They were both panting lightly from the intensity of the kiss, their lips swollen and a bit achy. But despite that, Kori found herself smiling and blushing a deep pink. She didn’t know what this meant for them, but it felt amazing…it felt right.

But the moment, as sweet and romantic and perfect as it was, wasn’t meant to last. A chill breeze blew against them, instantly cooling them both. Realizing they were still soaked through and likely to get sick if they didn’t head home to change into warm clothes, she unlocked her arms from around his neck and slid them down Satoshi’s chest. Grasping his shirt lightly like she’d done before, she smiled up at him. She honestly didn’t know what to say…She wasn’t about to question what had just happened between them, but they would certainly need to talk about it. But first, warm, dry clothes were needed.

Reaching back, she took one of his hands as he released her from his hold with a bit of reluctance. “I think we both need some warm, dry clothes…once we’re comfortable…we’ll talk about…” She stopped, her blush deepening, a wide smile on her lips. This… It was the only word she could think of to describe what was happening between them, but they’d figure it out together. “Come on, lets head back!” Before he could protest, Kori, still grasping his hand, darted from the shelter of the maple and back out into the still pouring rain, taking Satoshi with her. They laughed as they ran back to Satoshi’s Toyota, hand in hand the entire time.

The ride home was quiet, but pleasantly so. It was a comfortable silence, and one that was filled with thoughts of the kiss and where it might lead them. But the bliss she felt was short lived. As Satoshi pulled into the Porte cochere at the front of the High Rise, they both caught sight of Hayate’s Jeep, parked in his usual spot. With permission to enter the building as he pleased, Kori knew that he was already up in the apartment, waiting for her. She hadn’t made any plans with him this evening, it seemed he had decided to surprise her.

It was only Hatate’s presence that reminded her that she was still spoken for. She had a boyfriend and yet she’d made out with Satoshi under the Maple tree not twenty minutes ago. Part of her worried that Satoshi would think less of her for it, but it was an irrational fear – he’d known she’d had a boyfriend from the start. Despite this knowledge, she suddenly felt very awkward. Once the car was parked, she slipped out of the passenger side and waited for Satoshi before heading to the elevator with him. Standing in the elevator, in silence, she felt her cheeks color with embarrassment and a bit of shame. She didn’t know how to feel about this situation, let alone what to say. As the elevator stopped at Satoshi’s floor, she looked up at him for a moment, not wanting to let him go without saying something.

“Satoshi…I-“ She stopped herself. She just didn’t know what to say. ‘I like you’? ‘I still want to talk later’? ‘I don’t want you to go’? She didn’t know how to address this particular situation. She’d never cheated on a boyfriend before, and she found that despite Hayate’s treatment of her, she still felt a bit guilty about it, even though kissing Satoshi had felt so wonderful to her. In the end, all she could say was, “I’ll see you later…” With Hayate in her apartment, she didn’t know if Sato would come up to spend time with her like they’d planned, but she would leave it up to him.

As the doors began to close, obscuring her view of him, she didn’t look away, but instead held his gaze until the doors closed between them. As the elevator began to move again, she couldn’t help but feel the growing distance between them and the awkwardness that was mounting with each moment. Only one thing was for sure – she had feelings for Satoshi…

Hayate’s appearance hadn’t only surprised Kori – Kasai and Oriko had been openly making out on the living room couch when they’d heard to door open at the front of the apartment. Realizing the time, Kasai and Oriko had untangled themselves from one another, settling on the couch just as Hayate walked in with his arms full of take-out boxes. Catching sight of them, Hayate smiled wide, “Hey guys! I brought dinner. Is Kori around?” Kasai wasn’t overjoyed to see Hayate – in fact he was highly irritated with the way the guy was treating his beloved sister, but he was happy to see the food.

“Hi Hayate. No, Kori’s not home yet. She had an errand after the Club let out. But she should be home soon.” Kasai said before looking to Oriko, who seemed just as enthused to see Hayate as he was. “Oh, well, in that case, you guy want to dig into the food and play some Halo while we wait?” Arching a brow at the suggestion, Kasai found that he didn’t hate the idea. It’d give him a chance to beat the crap outta Hayate in the game, and maybe get some answers out of him while he was distracted.

Glancing at his boyfriend, who seemed to shrug in agreement with the idea, Kasai gave in. “Alright, you’re on.” While Hayate brought over the food and set everything out on the coffee table, Kasai grabbed the controllers and set up the game. Oriko, ever the glutton, dove right into the food and began to make a plate for himself. To Hayate’s credit, he’d picked up some top quality Chinese food from Kori’s favorite Chinese restaurant. Kas just hoped that she’d be home in time to enjoy it.

Tossing Hayate a controller, they went one vs one on the game while Oriko ate. Once one player died, another would rotate in so they could all have a break to eat and enjoy the meal and the game. While Oriko and Hayate went head to head, Kasai pulled out his phone to call Kori to check up on her. Although she was with Satoshi, it was getting late and he wanted to make sure she was alright. To his surprise, as the phone rang, he heard Kori’s ring tone chiming lightly from the apartment entrance. Hanging up, he pushed off the couch and headed for the entrance only to round the corner and see his twin, completely drenched and looking a bit miserable as she attempted to pull of her dripping wet shoes, a small puddle at her feet.

While he had enjoyed the drive to the park, the walk was even better, watching the clouds darken around them set the stage for the upcoming downpour and Satoshi was looking forward to it immensely. The tea they picked up did the trick to keep him warm, along with the jacket he'd grabbed from behind the driver's seat of his car, which was beneficial once the rain began to fall at long last, their cups ditched in the nearest receptacle and his hands tucked away in pockets. He loved how Kori came alive when she felt the droplets coming down around them, watching her twirl about in the light drizzle was magical, it only made his feelings for her grow all the stronger. He smiled when she spoke of her hope for the rain to come down on them while they were enjoying their walk, his only regret was leaving his umbrella at home, while he loved the rain, he had not counted on getting soaked.

Several times during their walk he had to restrain himself, the urge to take her hand and hold her close were strong, and when the rain became a heavy fall he could not resist running through the puddles and splashing with her like a pair of kids. He couldn't remember the last time he'd had so much fun that didn't involve racing or cars. Dashing for the maple Sato was laughing, he could feel his hair plastering to his head but didn't care, they were both thoroughly enjoying themselves.

Watching as she wiped the excess droplets from her face, Satoshi smiled fondly, even soaked thoroughly she was beautiful. While he admired her she shivered, and instantly his arms were reaching out to wrap around her protectively against the cold, holding her to himself in order to share his warmth. That she didn't pull away was a wonderful sign for him, her thanks brightened his smile all the more, if anything he should be the one thanking her. Never in his life did he think he would have a chance to be so close to someone as wonderful as Kori, every moment spent with her felt like a dream, he was having a hard time bringing himself to admit this aloud, uncertain of her reaction considering she did have a boyfriend.

These thoughts were dashed away when he noticed the way she was looking up to him, gaze flitting between his eyes and lips, her own tucked so adorably beneath a tooth as she struggled with her own internal thoughts. His mind was screaming at him, he knew what he wanted to do, but he would never do anything to offend Kori, and that included taking an uninvited kiss, no matter how much he longed to show her exactly how he felt for her. By some miracle of silent communication she gave the subtlest of nods, and before he could stop himself his lips were gently pressed to hers in a heartfelt kiss, his hold on her tightening ever so slightly to emphasize his want to be with her like this.

He gladly accepted the depth Kori offered as she shifted in his arms, her hands upon his chest would feel his pulse as it began to race from the thrill of moment they were both sharing. His hands rubbed her back gently, one slid up to cup her cheek tenderly as she brought her one of her own to pull him closer. For a while they stood beneath the maple, lips pressed together lovingly as they abandoned the world to the bliss of that singular moment.

Reluctantly the passion that had surged between them drew to a close, breathing heavily he held her gaze as she stared up to him, so many emotions and thoughts flying through both of their eyes. He wanted to speak, to say something endearing in spite of the cold facts, but an even colder chill forced it's way between them as the winds came bearing down, urging them to leave the sacred space that was the Japanese maple in order to seek refuge inside of his car. Her hands slid down his chest, taking hold of his shirt once more, the smile she gave him melted Satoshi's heart. He didn't stop her from moving away, but he was reluctant to let her slide from his grasp completely and gladly took hold of her hand as she reached for his. Words failed him in that moment, Kori was the first to speak and the notion of dry clothes was very appealing. The last thing he wanted was for her to catch cold on account of him keeping her out in the rain.

If not for the wide smile upon those perfect lovely lips, her saying that they needed to talk about 'this' would have given Satoshi a panic attack. He would gladly talk about anything she wanted, so what had transpired between them in the heat of the moment wasn't exactly a surprising choice of subject. There were some, complications to work out after all. Before he could sink too far into such thoughts she was pulling on his arm, dragging him along after her through the rain back to his car, he was so happy about their time together that the fact his car's interior was about to be soaked from their wet clothes didn't bother him in the slightest. Honey would understand, it just meant her upholstery would be getting a thorough detailing before his next race.

Just when he thought that nothing could possibly ruin their night, they pulled up to the highrise only to see a familiar Jeep parked in the guest lot. Driving them into the underground parking he tried to remain calm in spite of what they'd seen, knowing what it would mean for her. The ride in the elevator was quiet, his slight glances down to her made him well aware of the blush on her cheeks. Once they arrived at his floor Sato stepped out, only to turn as she spoke his name, smiling warmly to her as she said she would see him later. He nodded and gave her a thumbs up, bound and determined not to give up the wonderful feeling that seeing her always gave him. He was not ashamed of what he'd done, she deserved someone better than the guy who was waiting for her upstairs, and he was honoured that she had chosen him.

After the doors to the elevator closed he made his way into his apartment for a hot shower and a fresh change of clothes, deciding it was time he showed his true colors to the guys. Tossing on a tight fitting black muscle top, he layered it with an overshirt that had toxic green designs on it that amplified the green of his eyes, which were freed of glasses in exchange for his contact lenses. Slipping into some comfortable black cargo pants he ran a small bit of gel through his hair to keep it out of his face before stuffing his feet into some sandals and making his way upstairs. Hell be damned if he was going to stop hanging out with Kori just because Hayate finally decided to show up.

Removing her wet shoes, lost in thought, she hardly noticed when her phone rang and then suddenly stopped. She didn’t realize that Kasai was close by until he spoke to her. “Hey, Kor. You okay?” Kori was known for going out into the middle of a thunder storm to splash in the rain, but when she came back, soaked to the bone, she was always exhilarated, happy. She knew that Kas sensed something was wrong from her demeanor alone.

Glancing up at her twin, she didn’t bother trying to hide her mood. “Not really…I need to shower and change. Can you throw a towel on this puddle for me? I’ll clean it up after I’m changed.” Kas, the best brother ever, nodded without hesitation. “You got it Kor, don’t worry about it.” Kori lightly kissed Kasai’s cheek before heading to her room, taking care to bypass the living room where she heard Oriko and Hayate playing video games.

Stepping into her room, she closed her door and immediately began to peel the wet clothes from her body. Heading straight for the bathroom, she tossed the wet garments into her sink before starting the shower. She didn’t know how long she stood under the hot, steamy spray, but as she did, all she could think about was Satoshi and the kiss they’d shared under the maple. It had been pure magic. It had been the most amazing kiss she’d ever experienced in her life. Forehead resting against the tile of her shower wall, water gently striking her back, she was at a loss as to what she should do.

Stepping out of the shower, she toweled dry, taking care to wrap her hair in a fluffy towel before wrapping out around her torso. As she stepped from her bathroom, she was surprised to see Hayate sitting on her bed, waiting for her. All it took was one look at her in a towel, and a heat entered his gaze. Although he had seen her naked before and although they had had sex before, she felt self-conscious with his gaze on her. “H-Hayate…I didn’t hear you come in.” Taking care to walk directly into her closet to grab something to wear, she tried to ignore the fact that Hayate followed her and now stood in the doorway, watching her.

“I wanted to surprise you, babe. We haven’t been able to spend a lot of time together recently and I’ve missed you.” He practically purred. She knew what he missed, and it wasn’t movie night. Grabbing a cute outfit she took the items into her arms before walking past Hayate to head back to the bathroom. “I thought you were busy this weekend.” Hayate just shrugged a shoulder and smiled. “The plans fell through, so I thought we could hang out. You don’t have plans do you?” Deciding it was best to put everything out on the table, she shrugged lightly. “Well, it’s junk food and movie night. Satoshi should be coming to hang out.” Glancing at Hayate she could tell that he didn’t really like this news. Ever since she’d started hanging out with Satoshi and posting pics of them together, Hayate had been texting her like mad, clearly jealous. “Let me change and then we’ll hang out, spend some quality time.” Even as she said the words she felt a sense of dread come over her. She wanted to talk to Satoshi, she needed to talk to him…But with Hayate here, they wouldn’t be able to have any privacy – not unless Hayate suddenly left.

Wearing her new outfit, her hair dried and pulled up into a messy bun, she entered her room to find Hayate on his phone texting – surprise, surprise – clearing her throat, he looked up in surprise only to shove his phone in his pocket. Smiling at her, he arose from the bed. Wrapping his arms around her, he kisses her lips quickly before placing them against her ear. “You look amazing, but I think I preferred the towel~.” Even as she rolled her eyes at his words, words that would have ignited something in her months prior, she found that she didn’t care what he wanted. And as they left her room and headed for the living room, all she could think about was the fact that Satoshi’s kiss as ignited a fire within her, while Hayate’s had left her colder than the rain…

Satoshi had gone up in the elevator not long after Kori had left the shower and entered her room. He saw the towel on the floor by the entrance and smiled, knowing that Kori had brought in just as much of the rain as he had. His mind was still buzzing with thoughts about their kiss in the park as he knocked lightly on the entertainment unit in the living room, bringing himself out of his own daze and garnering the attention of the boys on the couch that were thankfully still playing their game instead of making out. Satoshi respected their relationship, but didn't need to see how much they were in love, he had his own emotions to sort out. "I call the winner." He said with a smirk as he plopped himself down unceremoniously next to them, unaware of the stunned expression on Oriko's face as he looked him over. "Daaamn man, lookin good. You should wear that kinda stuff more often, it suits you." The remark drew a raised brow from Satoshi, and he had to laugh. "I don't know man, keep gawking and I think I'll stick to my suits thank you very much." He teased, grateful that the style was appreciated.

He was in the middle of a round against Oriko when Kori came back from her room, Hayate in tow. One glance sent an amazing match into a downward spiral, both stunned at Kori's adorable outfit and furious at Hayate being all over her, Satoshi's character stopped dead in it's tracks, giving Oriko the opportunity to decimate him and win the round. "Dude! You just got schooled!" He heard Oriko declare victoriously, but he didn't care, it was taking all the self control he had not to leap over the coffee table and smash the guy's face in for laying a hand on his Angel. They hadn't been able to talk just yet, but already Satoshi was feeling possessive, as the kiss in the park had told him that she did indeed have feelings for him in return.

His features contorted into a twisted grin that was a stone's throw away from becoming a snarl. Silently convincing himself to focus solely on Kori his expression softened into a more genuine smile, he loved her shirt, and wondered if it was intended to be a subliminal hint to the idiot at her side. "Hey Kori, were you able to warm up okay?" He managed not to sound like a guy struggling with his angels and demons, and was even able to appear unphased by Hayate's presence outside of his initial reaction. "I brought Mochi~, this one is a different flavor than last week, you like strawberries right?" He pointed to the box of sweets on the coffee table he'd brought up with him. "This batch is strawberry filling in a mint chocolate bun, they're fantastic." Satoshi wasn't ashamed of his love for sweets, and talking about them helped him ease up on the tension dial.
