Magnus' attempt at opening one of the smaller doors held little value as the door didn't budge. The smaller doors also didn't have any hinges or visible door knobs, they didn't even have a keypad which might seem odd. Though there was some sort of panel near the top middle of the door, which looked like it was suppose to be lighted? Without any power it was hard to tell though what the reason for the panel was.

It was difficult to tell how or why the door opened since there seemed to be no visible triggers and perhaps almost no power to the door. However, that didn't keep Mlinzi from managing to open the door! There's a moment before the room lights up dimly, as if it's on backup power. In the center of the room, there's a large crystal on a pedestal. It's quite dusty and there are some wires exposed from the base. The closer the cats get to the crystal, the more their electronics might fritz. It's clear that this crystal is somehow related to their electronics--and it looks like it'll take a little bit of work to get the wires fixed and the room properly cleaned up. If this is what's causing all of their problems though, it's likely a worthwhile investment.

It'll be a team effort, but be careful! An occasional spark or two seems to shoot out of the wires every now and then and the power seems to flicker with each new wave of sparks.

Mlinzi (someone do his journal for me ^.^' )
7

It didn't take long for Mel to get bored studying the little door it wasn't like he could fit in it even if it had hinges or a door knob thingy. There was actually no visible way to open them, not even a keypad. The closest thing was a panel thingy near the top middle of the door which probably should have been lit but without any power that wasn't going to happen. Mel idly wondered what would even be on the panel if it was meant to be powered. Probably some kind of scanner or something equally secretive. The whole base was all 007 like with the hidden space and the bank of computers, granted the computers weren't working right then.

It didn't really matter right then since there was no power to prove or disprove his theory. So really that just left the big door, the one that others were trying to open through various means. It was pretty tempting to see if he could push it open like a few of the others were trying to do but it was something the guy from before (Snowball) that caught Mel's attention. A password. Mel knew passwords! He knew lots.

"I know some, I know some." He bounced over and proudly started to list them off. "Abracadabra, open sesame, alohomora, password, password 123, please, qwerty," He rattled over several more before the door opened. "Was it something I said?" The guardian asked as he peeked into the dim space and promptly sneezed at all the dust.

"Someone needs to fire the housekeeper.... is there a housekeeper? Who keeps the bat cave clean? Do we have a Alfred Pennyworth to keep everything spick and span? Who does it now?" Mel asked randomly and absently as he made his way into the dust filled room, his paws leaving clear prints in the dirt of ages past on the ground.

His tail swished in surprise and irritation at spark of electricity that arched out of the bundle of wires crystal's pedestal. "Shocking isn't it," he muttered to no one in particular as he continued to look around... what little there was to actually look at besides the crystal that is.

((tl;dr - Mel gets bored with the little door, Gets inspired by Snowball's password comment, Rattles off more passwords then one should logically know, Door opens Mel comments about the dirt and the cleaning crew, Mel makes a bad pun))

7 (Etoile)

Success! One of the other cats has gotten the door open, and Etoile followed after the group as they filtered in to the new room. The dim light made it hard to see- or maybe it was all those years of late night tv watching getting to her- but there was a crystal, and there was some sparking wires, and...

Well, Etoile was no electrician, so she didn't really understand it all, but hm. If anything else, the place needed a good cleaning, at the very least.

5 - Sumi

Watching Wendell bounce around him made him wish he was a little more like the brow mauvian. He was always too shy to do anything like that but it seemed like it would be fun. At least Wendell looked like he was having fun

Kinda seemed like he didn't know how not to have fun.

At least Eta was there though so even with all the strange things going on he felt a little safer.

That was until someone got the larger door opened. While everyone started poking around he sat down, jumping slightly when one of the cables touched his fur and shocked him. "Um ... why do none of us seem know this is down here?" It was strange to him that this was their base but no one seemed to know.

He felt worse knowing he'd been down here, asleep, and he didn't know what was going on.

6 Tomlin

Tomlin could only stare as the tiny torches illuminated their surroundings. It did look like it needed power – until Mel got the door to open, revealing even stranger things. Was this their power source? A second command centre?

For a moment, Ash caught his eye, but he didn’t have an answer for her. He’d never heard anything like this mentioned. They had the headquarters, with its star-locked entrance, and the computer banks and shielding. That had seemed like enough, so he’d never questioned. There had been other cats, cats he’d met and talked to, years ago now, who’d been around longer, knew more than him. But he didn’t know where to find them. Until the communicators were created, they’d had no real way to contact each other, just chance meetings in back alleys, maybe following after the same energy signatures, brought together by senshi who knew each other. How much information had been lost to them? Like, who had built all this in the first place? It didn't make sense to hide something in a place already secure to their own kind.

“I thought this would just be… computer guts. The power dampeners, maybe. What the hell is this?”

He moved towards the crystal on its pedestal, circling the sparking wires cautiously. His communicator made an unhappy sound by his ear as he nosed closer to see what the wires were supposed to be connected to.

(#2) [Liryn]

"Maybe" Liryn said in answer to Ash's question, although his cheerful voice was on the distracted side as the majority of his attention was on the door with the large star and he missed Snowball's suggestion about passwords entirely.

There was no hinges or door knobs and not even a keypad - at least nothing visible - although there was something up by the top middle of the door that looked like some sort of panel–

Although Liryn couldn't discern any immediate purpose for it.

But given that the strange signature seemed to be coming from it, Liryn also knew that they needed to try and find some way past it.

In the end it was
Mel that managed to get the door open, somehow, the dim light that booted up glinting off more motes of dust.

It also revealed a large crystal on a pedestal and what appeared to be exposed wires by the base.

He followed after
Tomlin as the ginger-furred mauvian edged closer, purplish eyes watching the sparks.

"I have no idea" he admitted his tabby ears twitching unhappily as his cat communicator started to make fritz-y noises "But maybe we should try to connect them back up and see what happens."

Liryn frowned thoughtfully as he spoke as he mentally tried to remember if he had anything that could potentially be of use in his pocket.

9 - Coeur d'Or

It was surprising to hear the click of an opening door, but Coeur was excited. "Oh! Awesome job," she said to the Savannah Cat (Mlinzi). Coeur followed everyone else in to see a large crystal on a pedestal. It looked kind of dirty and gross, but maybe they could fix it.

Coeur reached up and looked at the crystal, trying to brush off some dirt with her paw. She could see some wiring out of place and tried to fix a little bit of it. The wiring seemed to need some organizing as well. Maybe that would help them fix it easier next time. Someone needed to maintain the cleanliness of the room too.

"Hmm..." The room was dimly lit, and she couldn't help but wonder if there was something she could clean with. There was always her tail, but it would make it too dirty and well, she didn't really want to spend too much time cleaning herself later.

2 Pyewacket

While he pondered, Pyewacket missed the discovery of the door. He was one of those cats who easily lost himself in thought, to the exclusion of noticing what was going on around him. By the time he decided he had pondered enough, shaking his head so that his collar bell and geegaws jingled as merrily as a windchime, the others had opened a hole in the wall and were going through it.

"Oh my," he blinked, following them into the darkness. Well, not so dark: someone had managed to find a flashlight and was illuminating the way as best they could. Pye watched another big Savannah open a door at the end of the hallway and went up to investigate with the other Mauvians. Loose arcing wires were everywhere. Was this a second control center? And if so, who or what had damaged the electronics?

Then he noticed the crystal on the pedestal. That must be the true source of the power for their technology! Crystals often were the source of concentrating magical energy, he'd learned from his reading at the occult book store he lived at. And this was a large one, too.

"My guess is that these wires," and he motioned with a paw toward them, "connect somehow to the crystal. Fix these wires, you restore the connection. And our devices."

Snowball hadn't really expected anyone to take the suggestion about passwords. After all that'd been a slightly farfetched idea. . . or had it ? ? ? Mel had managed to open the door. The raggamuffin mau smiled slightly and chuckled.

"Hm . . . looks like it's been pretty abandoned down here. I wonder what happened. . . " Though his mind went back to the youma and wondered if that had something to do with it and how long this stuff had really been damaged. "Do you think this could've been damaged longer than what we truely knew about? After all it only started a little while ago with seriously acting up."

He ventured closer to the crystal and the base kneeling down to look at it, there was a pause as he thought if he had anything on hand. Granted there wasn't much he could think of. Their luck there'd been some stuff in their command room, but it was too dark to try and get there and back safely.

It didn't take long for the small group to get some progress on repairing the system, even if some of it was hoping that they were right with the wires. Suddenly a number appears on a dusty screen below the crystal. It seems to read that the system is now working at 50%! The lights are brighter but in all the tweaking, the wrong wire got crossed--a little red light began to flash above the Mauvians. Suddenly a mechanical voice echoed from the hallway they'd traveled down. "Intruder! Intruder Alert!"

Before anyone could react, the voice was closer; a mechanical Mauvian rolled into the room. Its eyes were glowing white and it seemed to scan the Mauvians in the room--only, it didn't seem to recognize that they were allies. The glass star on its forehead began to light up--red--and it shot a poorly aimed laser at the cluster of cats.

"Intruder!" it screeched.

Any Mauvian an earpiece, the warning echoed in their ears--a message straight from their system.

Unlike traditional Mauvian lasers, this one seemed to only need a few seconds to recharge; though it missed the first batch, it was already firing new lasers at them. There were two colors--a white laser, and a red laser. For any Mauvian unfortunate enough to be hit with a white laser, they would find the area hit, up to two inches around the contact point, numb or tingling. Any Mauvian hit with a red laser would feel a a sharp, stinging pain that is slow to fade.

You can now choose to repair the system or fight the robot!

Repair the System
Please roll 2d6 and post in Bold Red at the top of your post that you are repairing the system. Your first number is the percentage of the system you repair, and the second number is if you've dodged the attack or not. If you roll a 1-4 you're okay, but a 5 or 6 means you've been hit--and you lose the process on the repair (and your first roll becomes a 0!)
Repairing the System : [# here]

Fight the Robot
Please roll 2d6, and post at the top of your post in Bold Blue that you are fighting the bot. Your first number is how much damage you have done to the bot so include that in your post! Your second number is if you've dodge the attack or not, if you roll a 1-4 you're okay; but 5 or 6 you've been hit somewhere!
Fighting the Robot : [damage here]

If you are hit with a laser, you may choose which type--and where it hits! You can only roll once per round, so please keep your eyes open for the next prompt before you roll again!

Also, if you missed something, you can still catch up and post!

Hania ~ Repairing the System : 5%

When the door was opened by the large male Savannah Mauvian, Hania had ended up gotten more distracted by the crystal and just plain looking around for a bit there then actually being of any help repairing the power. He did however snap back to attention when the alert sounded both from the hallway and in the earpiece only for a mechanical Mauvian to show up. The black cat stared at it for a moment with wide eyes, with the stray thought to wonder if fellow Mauvian's had made it or if they had help from any other technical inclined world, then darted over to the wires to try and repair them farther.

After all it would be a shame to damage the robot when they didn't know how to fix it and maybe fixing the system would help it recognize they were allies. Thankfully as he worked he managed to dodge an attack that got a bit close for comfort.

Repairing the system! - 2% repair, attack dodged!

The door opened and the cats flooded into the new room. Ash had a moment of a sour expression when it was one of the more… clueless members of their group that managed to do it, rather than her, for all her fiddling about. It didn’t last long. What was in the room was far too enticing for her attention to be anywhere else.

Eyes wide, the guardian padded inside with the others and stared about in wonder and a bit of shock.

“I can’t believe we didn’t know this was here…” She murmured as she turned in a circle, her tail trailing behind her. Her visor flickered and buzzed, making her flinch as she swung around to view the crystal hanging in the center. Crystals weren’t normally an order thing… but they weren’t unknown either. It drew her forward to put hands on it with the few others that chose to do so.

Helping the other fiddle with it, since she had the fingers to do so, they managed to get… something cobbled together, enough that the lights brightened and there seemed to be more power flowing… but that proved to be as much a hindrance as a help, when it apparently activated a defense system none of them knew about.

A robotic cat burst into the room and Ash’s ears pinned as it screeched, her eyes showing rims of startled while as her tail puffed.

“Oh shoot…” She mewed, before diving into the wires to scrabble around for whatever it was that had gotten mucked up with all the paws and hands trying to do the same work. A laser shot past the side of her head and Ash yelped, but never paused in her work.

The robot would be defeated faster if they could just… get it switched off.

Mlinzi (his journal will get done.... eventually >.> )
Fighting the Robot : 1

Mel's ears flattened and his tail lashed when whatever the others did set off an a flashing red light. That wasn't good. They were never any good in movies there was no way in hell that it would be good here in the spooky underbelly of the cat HQ. Nope. No, way. His prediction was right when a mechanical voice echoed from the hallway, 'Intruder! Intruder Alert!'

The voice was quickly put with a figure, a little robotic cat, a Mauvian... a mechanical one that was shooting lasers at everyone. "I believe the word its looking for is 'EXTERMINATE!'," the large guardian quipped as he dodged a poorly aimed laser. The Doctor wasn't his favorite but the show was prolific and there were some really neat brain twisters on there, lots of mysteries which was Mel's favorites. His favorite doc was the one that referred to time as 'wibbly wobbly stuff'.

While the others did their damndest to repair the crystal thing Mel went after the kittylek. He wasn't electronically inclined but hurting stuff, that he could do. Mel jumped at it, his claws swiping at the metallic figure only to scramble to twist out of the way of a laser, his claws barely scraping the paint on the creature. The savannah yowled in pain as the red laser he had tried to dodge burned his haunch. That s**t hurt!

Golden eyes narrowed in pain and annoyance the large cat stalked the robot, dodging the lasers and trying to keep it distracted while he waited for and opening. Maybe sitting on the damn thing would work.

((tl;dr - Mel dislikes the warning light, Compares robokitty to Daleks... and apparently likes David Tennant, Attacks the robot, Gets zapped in the butt by a red laser, Biding his time to attack again))

Repairing the System : [0%] [Liryn]

Liryn had cheerfully got stuck into helping to connect the wires back up, whilst trying to avoid getting sparked and whilst he wasn't sure if the wire he was working on were all going in the right places, it looked like between his and everyone else's efforts that they were at least making progress.

In fact more than 'some' progress if the number that suddenly appeared and the brightening of the lights was anything to go by...

And then a red light started flashing overhead.

Liryn looked up startled and was in time to have his ears assaulted by the loud screeching of the word 'Intruder'.

He winced, because it had been sooo loud, purplish eyes turning to the source that appeared to be some sort of mechanical mauvian complete with forehead star.

As it turned out it also came complete with kitty beam and Liryn was just about able to avoid the red laser beam that came sailing in his direction - and fortunately it missed the wires too.

Liryn went back to work on them, well at least he did his best to try and continue to try and work on them, but it was hard to do so whilst at the same time keeping half an eye out for kitty beams - especially as the kitty robot seemed to be able to fling them around without getting tired.

A white beam hit him in the tail causing him to hiss unhappily as the area around it went numb.
