The black oil was getting everywhere, soaking into his clothing, sticking to his skin, burning and cold and making him feel sick to his stomach. He could hear voices too, voices that didn’t belong to the people fighting around him.

A cursory glance around made him fairly confident that he wasn’t the only one hearing things. People were reacting erratically, his General seemed to be lashing out, and Bloodstone was barely able to back away in time, the oil still crawling up his legs. It was as though he was sinking.

“Reinerite,” he tried calling out to his teammate, as she was another recruit of Aurostibite’s. She looked like she was getting the worst of it, having fought hard against the creature that attacked them.

They wouldn’t be able to get away from the oil, but he quickly knelt down beside her to at least lift her head and shoulders out of the oil before it covered her completely.

“General!” he called to Aurostibite, his own vision hazy, his stomach churning, and the voices and feeling of being confined was starting to wear on him.

She wasn't sure what went through her head as the dark ooze just flooded everybody, clutching her head as something...some memory pushed it's way into her synapses. A memory that she knew, with fogged certainty, didn't belong to her.

Tantalite sunk into the black ooze on hands and knees, coughing. Feeling. She wasn't sure what this was...or if it would go away.

General Aurostibite

The oil was everywhere.

It was crowding his thoughts, sinking through his skin and burning through his veins. He could hear it like an off key song, violent and savage as it twisted inside of his head, coiling through each and every inch of his mind so that all of his thoughts were black, black, black, so much black -

Through the haze, he saw his lieutenant faltering, staggering - what was her name again? He couldn't remember, Aurostibite staggering forward, his boots slipping in the oil at his feet, splashing around his ankles and turning everything to tar. Reinerite, that was it; she was falling, falling, falling -

And there was - there was - Bloodstone as well, slogging through the oil, and they were both sinking, trying to get to his comrade, trying to make their way past, and he couldn't do anything for Reinerite, not now, not after she was already down, Aurostibite's head spinning a thousand miles a second, every thought splintering into a shattered chaotic mess inside of his head.

He had reached Bloodstone. Aurostibite's gaze was hazy; one of his blades disappeared, swept back into Negaspace.

Mintaka.

Mintaka.

His lips parted.

"Fight - "

He didn't know what he was saying. A gloved hand wrapped around Bloodstone's upper arm and then Aurostibite was pulling, the energy burning through him so fast and so suddenly that it almost made him scream, his fingers seizing, digging painfully in, and it was too much, too much -

He let go.

The blackness was in his veins. The oil was burning. He was on fire.

There are snakes. There are hundreds of them, thousands of them, they are inside of my head, they are in my blood, and I am bleeding black blood onto this floor, I can hear you, I can see you, I can hear all of this, you are here, you are gone, where are you, why are you here, you are there -

- you are watching me -

His vision was black and red, blood spatters and oil slicks. There was someone, there were two someones, there were too many people, there was no one at all, nothing and no one except himself and he thought he might be screaming, except he couldn't hear anything except for a ringing in his ears louder louder louder -

The second blade appeared again, dripping black as Aurostibite opened his eyes.

Dark kitty Katya

Katya was small and quick on her feet, good and ducking and dodging things but she wasn't even capable of this. The bubbles of a black oil like substances were unavoidable, just like what pierced her, garnering a strangled cry of pain and a yowling sound. The cat had been headed toward Avior intent on yelling at him to run. he had been good enough to help her and she wanted to do the same, to get him out of here. She had seen what was happening and quick on her paws, and shouting, she had thought she could help him avoid the incoming attack - she had failed.

Where once there were voices there were none now. The oil seemed to be more than just oil...it was like arms and tentacles and wrapped about her and pulled at her small body. Up her tiny nose and into her open mouth it seemed to fill her up and she swore she could feel it running through her veins, like the chaos had when she had first been brought over...only more invasive and more painful. As the ground came up to meet her, or she fell down to kiss it, her green eyes fell closed and sunk her into darkness.

When the darkness faded all she saw were mirrors...was it mirror space somehow? Little paws moved and her head turned as she tried to figure this out, like a great puzzle. She didn't like this, wasn't fond of it at all, and there was no one else here. From what she knew she would need someone to bring her to mirror space...so then not that. But what? maybe that white haired one would know? But maybe not...they had a box in there hands and a feeling of dread washed through her, almost drowning her, as the mauvian stood there on her four little legs. "Don't!" Calling out to stop her from opening the box.

It didn't work - of course it didn't work. She wanted to scream at the girl, and maybe she did, her voice tried to come out but didn't make it past her throat the next time she tried to scream. It was what came out of the box which gained that response. Out of the box slipped and slinked...a younger her. That spark of intelligence in her eyes - not there...the cats had a cone about her head and as the younger, other, her laid down it was obvious as to why the cone was on her head. Katya had, as she would tell anyone who asked, lived in a normal family home before becoming a guardian cat. A normal home which meant meals, cat food, and brushings and shots and vet check up's. It also meant she could have no kittens of her own. Something her past self, lacking in intelligence, wouldn't have known or cared about. Heats wouldn't have been a thing, and that may have been noticed, but the reason...the knowledge with the emotions attached to it - no. But now...now she knew it and felt it at times. There was a sting of betrayal which filled her...a raging hate for her former owners. She didn't care that they thought they were doing the right thing...that they were thinking of her health. She had emotions now, ones she hadn't had then, and a mind and the ability to think and reason.

They had hurt her and only once awoken had she come to know it...to feel it. She never spoke of it, did a damn good job of ignoring it. But deep down she knew that even if she wanted to have kittens, if the war ended and she wished it, it would never be. They had ripped that away from her and she had stupidly not fought anyone at the vets...and she had stayed a happy cat in their home. She had a new home now though, had since awakening, and she was happy with it. She had built herself a new life, though she couldn't forget the old.

The world spun and Leifite stumbled, heavy nausea almost over taking her. The teen swayed, holding onto a wall for support. The oil swam around her, up her legs, down her arms and coated her. The beast shrieked and oil lifted up around her. She watched, bogged down by the oil around her, as they swelled and rippled. Bright orange eyes widened and she backed up.

They exploded.

Sharp tendrils of darkness slammed into her, pinning her to the wall. Leifite tried to scream, but the air was taken from her lungs by the impact. Her head cracked against the wall, limbs dangling in shock. Madness overtook her, telling her of her failings, her secrets, her torments. It slithered under her skin, pulling a shiver from her body. The madness dropped her from the wall.

She stood, staring at a cut on her hand. Leifite began to giggle, softly at first, but then louder and louder and louder.

"Hehe... It's black~"

The wraith's shriek echoed through the walls of the warehouse, shaking the building. The oil that had been suspended in air, with its long trendils fell in large splashes on the ground. The wraith, in all its power, felt betrayed. A prince, of their own kingdom had left it, killed it. A cloaked hand reached out to the prince before dropping down to the floor, melting into the oil chaos.

All that was left of the madness was a blue shard, much like the one's dark mirrors carried around. From it oozed oil, and until picked up, would continue to do so.

The warehouse would shudder with the sudden loss of such power around it,
but there was something else. Something that called to the dark mirrors.

Quote:
CONGRATULATIONS! The Wraith is now defeated.

If you would like to continue to have madness and have not been cleansed of it already, You may now 'drain' or 'absorb' the oil in a large quantity to remove it's presence from the warehouse. You will suffer from automatic 80-100 Madness, and can rp each prompt as you see fit.

However, the Shard still remains and must be picked up by a dark mirror senshi. Once picked up, please quote Pixie Nyxie for a special prompt!

This battle is officially over! The second part for Dark mirrors will be started as soon as I can this week!!

Sailor Elsa: 25/60 HP
Stage: Super
Madness: 100/100

Even when Elsa shuddered back to himself, he could still feel the oil flowing over him. It was a nightmare -- the worst thing that could possibly happen.

He registered, barely, that the Wraith fell under the assault by a Prince of the Court, someone he had never met -- someone he would have been proud to see, under any other circumstance, but consumed by madness and drowning under it, all he could think of was that his Prince had seen his failures and it was another person he admired - even fi they had never met - who knew what he was.

And he was drowning, still drowning, and in a desperate bid to save himself he called on his own wraiths, hoping, praying they would make it stop.

They drained the oil.

That did not make it stop.

That made it worse, like the oil could sense his desperation to make it go away, because it flowed over him and through him and in him, and Elsa felt like he was being set on fire, like someone had struck a match and lit the whole thing up.

He wanted to scream, but he couldn't make himself make a sound.

And in all of that, something in the darkness called to him.
'
Elsa stood, slowly, and flexed his fingers, and the madness in his soul screeched to fight, to rend and tear and kill.

Sailor Hydrus: 20/50
Stage: First
Madness: 100/100

There was a single moment of clarity, as the wraith died and there was a burning need to go find something, something that was left over, that would save her.

Then he drowned in oil and pulled on it. It burned and tore at his soul but he needed more and more of it until it swallowed him whole. He screamed into the void of madness, and it screamed back, primal and hungry.

It burned, it burned, but oh how it cleansed, how it brought such purpose to him.

Hydrus held out a hand towards Aurostibite, fingers black and energy dripping from the digits. It coalesed, the faintest image of a leviathan head forming in his palm.

"She's gone because of you. You should die," he said, voice too high, too shrill. His head snapped to the side in a tilt, and the energy in his hand exploded forward. "Shallow Sea Monsters!"

Faustite: 60 Madness Solo

The monster's quaking malice pooled around him in thick, bitter oil. Despite the distance Faustite cultivated, he could not wholly escape its vast grip - and suffered for it in his loss of movement. The viscous fluid sucked at his legs and rooted him effectively, drowned his boots in black, crawled up his legs in darkened clots that left him panicked for a way out. Faustite jerked desperately at its stony hold and found himself stuck steadfast. Clawing at the thickened past only left it clinging to his fingers with the same adamance as that which claimed his legs. Soon it climbed up him in capillary deceit, ever higher, ever further, soaking beyond the uniform to his bare skin and further. His breaths came shallow in trepidation as he waited for the fluid to claim his narrow collar bones, to cross his neck, to seep into his mouth. He expected to taste it long before others took notice of his condition.

And in shutting his eyes, in willing the lot of it away to happen to someone else, somewhere else, his grasp slipped and he fell beyond the margins of his own comprehension.

He fell to a time not of his own recognition, though he knew the space —

She towered over him, roiling with rage and deceit and all the unfettered furies of righteousness. Her ire fell upon him without pause, and he knew an equal blistering hate for her disapproval of his actions. Her opinion mattered not - a traitor herself, she commanded their ranks as if she earned the right to stand equal to him as a general. She wielded that blackened blade, catching within it the cold reflection of the carnivorous flames that devoured the warehouse, and looked to him in her grim decision.

But she deserved nothing of his time. The dark joy taken in reigning chaos welled in his breast, nearly spilled out between his ribs as his skin stretched taut with every breath. He reached for someone else - a senshi, blonde, as tall as she, the same vehemence claiming his eyes in flame. He reached, he yearned, he locked his elbow with every measure taken to touch the glittering starseed housed in that chest. Faustite knew he would claim that life wholly. He would know the taste of that man's resignation before the night ended, before the flames burned out from the building's bitter, blackened husk.

His hand betrayed him and he cursed it so. He cursed it with a raw, wordless, raking cry, and his chest heaved, and his fingers splayed out with every joint hyperextended, every joint begging to break if only to touch that starseed, for he knew then that salvation lay beyond that man's breast. Faustite's chest heaved and shuddered and stuttered along the burgeoning chill that pierced his sternum so, and in looking down, he recognized the blackened blade buried within him. Its frost spread vehemently, cooling out the blistering pain that sought to stop him. He almost thanked her. He laughed. He laughed, and the outstretched hand lay bare to him now, the thick robes he once wore now retreated to another realm. He stood with a hand pressed to a senshi's chest, shaken in its draining strength, before she forced Elex to the ground with a knee upon his chest.

He drew a sucking stutter between his ribs. Wheezing, he glanced down toward the sliver of black pervading his peripherals. Surely... A jerking, staccato laugh bubbled breathlessly from his throat alongside metal. The zinc splinters were as laudanum, purging his throat of further sonance.

This is where all your trials, all your efforts, all your godforsaken tribulations meander to their end - at the hilt of your own peer's sword. What was it you said to x###xxx— in the Rift, that fated day when you named that fetid beast as your own?

Incite betrayal and expect its gaze upon yourself.

These deeds - they come full circle. A strained groan petered into a wet scream with the blood that frothed toward his mouth like seafoam lapping at the shore. It ached in waves burdened with turbulence, with red tides roiling up his throat and out his chest as trickles turned to veritable rivers. Blood spread its fickle fingers down the front of his uniform, down the tip of the blade to meet concrete in an ever-expanding, sickening darkness. It looked somehow surreal beneath the brilliant light of the rainbow stretched overhead, raining ultraviolet violence upon those beneath its pall, even as it petered to a close as echoed in the pool.

Elex's grip tightened on the senshi's white bodice while he searched the last desperate threads of breath within his lungs before they peeled away on bloody saliva. A jerk as the blade loosed from his form form, and the resounding groan stemming from the man that once stood as a general sounded far older than the bones within his body. It spoke of blatant agony derived from the blade lodged in his chest, the boiling haze of retribution surrounding the ashes of resolve. Yet, the grip on his throat hushed any last remnants of monologue that lighted on the tip of his tongue.

It hurt, but the stars surrounded him now.

The oil dropped him against the parapet unceremoniously, jerking him from his feverdream without care. Faustite clutched at his chest, desperation working as livewire beneath his skin, and he checked his hands several times for blood. He still felt the spreading frostbite upon his breast, the heat of warehouse flame as it sought to steal away his breath. He could taste the lurid excitement on his tongue, mixed with madness —

A last glance toward the rooftop informed him that the wraith vanished. Others fought with each other as he lay helpless on the parapet, slave to his own weakness in waking from such a memory. He laughed then, empty as it was, and forced his palms over his eyes. He much preferred the darkness, he decided.

Disce pati, he thought. What a strange phrase.

Morpheus

The combined efforts of the assembled ragtag team dealt the final blow to the wraith, with the Dark Mirror Royal taking the last hit. Both eyebrows shot up at the dude as Morpheus whistled his surprise. Apparently the Royals packed a damn lot of power in their punches. Inwardly he wondered if he'd ever reach that kinda power. And how long would it take to get there?

Like you'll ever make it.

Just as quickly as the expression arose, his interest slipped into a despairing pout. The monster was gone, but what good did it do? All around them, the building swam in thick oil and corruption. The great rivulets of it opened up and outward, spilling over the sides of the building to drain into the windows and drown the contents within. And Morpheus didn't know the first thing about taking care of all the corruption - it wasn't like he could pull a fire hose out of his a** and clean the place up, and his magic wasn't good for any of that.

A dull reflection existed in the epicenter of the mess, however, and Morpheus approached it with interest. More of the black oil erupted from its surface ad nauseam; he wondered if someone had to break it before the damned thing shut off. If the piece of mirror kept on with its oil production, then everyone there was about to drown in it. And since some of the people around him were fighting with one another…

Morpheus reached down tentatively for the shard. So much of his being understood that doing so was yet another exercise in futility - as a basic senshi, a failure at that, he could do nothing to improve this situation - yet he could think of no other course of action. He would reach for it, and if no one else wanted it, then maybe he could try his hand at snapping it in half or something.

Though if he did that, it might just double the oil ********' A, can I get a break here? The Mirror Senshi thought despairingly.

Titanite: 40/60
Stage: Captain / Second
Madness: 60/100

The creature was gone, but the whispering remained, and the nausea that pulsed through her veins.

Around her, others were going wild with the remnants of it, their bodies seeping in the oil. they accepted the darkness, the horror, and Titanite pressed a clenched hand to her belly. She wanted to further part of this.

It was sinking around her, even after death pouring its filth through her veins. She shook her head, water-colored tresses spinning around her head, and she- she couldn't breathe.

She did not wish to stay here. The madness discomfited her. It was not the pleasant release of being high, or fighting. This was unclean. Unwanted.

Titanite ran from it.

As the shard was reached out by Morpheus, the young senshi would feel it pulsate, like a heartbeat in his hand. Faint and weak, but odd and alive.
He could not crush it, though it could feel that he wanted too. On the surface of the shard was what the great wraith looked like, but smaller, contained, and not much more of a threat.

The oil that had spilled from it stopped, leaving the warehouse with whatever was leftover. It gripped Morpheus's hand instead, circling the young man's wrist with oily trendils, they stung only for a bit until the oil settled, marking the hand and wrist of the dark mirror with its shape.

"Return it." The small woman's voice, one similar to Mintaka's whispered like silk in his ear. "Return it to mirrorspace." The call had been made, and Morpheus would feel the pull to the mirror so strong. The shard licked at his fingers, as if to say yes, return me.

Admist the battle, and in the chaos that was well the chaos of the creature, Lace had been dropped from Sera's jacket (though she hadn't blamed him). The oil was something she was barely dodging at the moment, being stuck on the windowsill.

She had no way of helping those that suffered from the madness, but she could hear someone calling from the compacts of the senshi. Mintaka's voice was a small whisper to her, barely heard and all she had registered was the small cry for help.

She could see some of the dark mirrors, those that took chaos to cleanse this building, disappearing into mirrors.

She moved as close as she could to one of the mirrors and pawed at it.

"Wait, Let me help too!"

Morpheus grimaced at the visage in the reflection. All wrathful clothes and roiling hate, the wraith stood out from its background of sunny sky by its complete blackness. And while Morpheus struggled to swallow his unnerved, scattered mental state, he felt a modicum of relief when the oil ceased its flow. Maybe, he thought, maybe I can do something with this. But asa soon as the thought arose, ubiquitous negativity smothered it without mercy.

He felt despair tighten its noose around its throat, and malevolence wrap its tendrils around his wrist. The oily smear remained but for a moment before it dissipated entirely, leaving Morpheus with the same sense of dread that pervaded him from his prior quandries with the black, viscous fluid. The sensation of a wriggling mass in his guts came back into his purview and he could not bite back a groan. Everything about this battle, this weird black s**t, and this wraith spoke of nightmare fuel and he knew for a fact now that he wasn't into it. No, he'd rather snap the damned thing over his knee and toss it off the building before he —

Return it.

Aw, hell, he cursed to himself with a deep huff. His shoulders sagged, his mind felt tired and steeped in abject failure. He wanted to go home, to crawl into bed and sleep away the nightmare that was this day. He wanted a cup of coffee, for once, and a can of squab over some picked beets. Maybe he'd get tricky and add some garlic to it. And he wanted a godddamn bath, too, especially after all this gunk plastered the whole damn place —

Return it to mirrorspace.

It dawned on him, then, that he recognized the slight, lilting voice. He recognized its cadence from somewhere, though he knew not where. And the mystery provided a last push, one that encouraged his legs to move once again from their rooted spot. A mystery to pull his beleaguered mind forward into the depths of their court's enigmatic structure.

"Fiiiiiiiine," he sighed out to the world, as if his admittance meant something to the disembodied voice. And in his capitulation, he left for Mirrorspace.

Sadalsuud quite sure just what it was that had called to her, but that 'something' had called her to mirrorspace–

And she had answered the call.

She had remembered there being a mirror located at the warehouse and whilst it wasn't one that she normally used, the call was too insistent.

She had to get to mirrorspace and she had to get to it now!

But the warehouse wasn't quite how she remembered it, green eyes widening as she took in its changed state - because whilst she hadn't used the mirror located in the building recently, it hadn't looked like this–

Like at the park

At least Sadalsuud was sure that it hadn't looked like this...

But the call was pulling her, was pulling her to mirrorspace, and so whilst normally the stuff coating the building would make it the last place that Sadalsuud wanted to be near - this time she made her way into the warehouse.

She had ignored others around her as she made her way towards where she remembered the mirror being, a part of her relieved when the mirror was still where she remembered it–

And there was someone else by the mirror - someone familiar, Sadalsuud stepping over to where the small black kitten was pawing at the surface.

"Miss Kitten!" And there was happy relief in her voice and then "Do you want through? Because I can take you if you want?"
