That...worked out better than Alejandro thought it would. Thunder Fang was just too strong for Abra, and Abra was too slow for Destello. That was perfect. Looking at the Abra, Alejandro tilted his head as he noticed that it sort of looked like it could be a cat. Well, it wasn't like he didn't like Abra and a Psychic-type would be useful....Once it learned useful moves anyway. "Alright. Might as well try." Taking out a ball, he tossed the red and white sphere at the unconscious Pokemon and waited until it bleeped, smiling a bit. That was the first Pokemon he actually caught on his own. The sense of accomplishment was great.

With a new teammate added to the team, Alejandro felt great. It was a win-win for both him and Destello; he got to catch a new Pokemon and Destello got the battle experience. Of course, he wouldn't have even noticed the Abra if Pooka hadn't shown it to him, so she deserved the credit entirely. Meeting Abra would have to wait until he had time to visit a center or healer, though. And, that wasn't going to happen until his training was done. As if on cue, a Rattata came into view and he sighed. More Rattata. Great.

Damn that Quick Attack. That battle was too close. And, Thunder Fang wasn't doing much on the secondary effects department. Still, it was his strongest move, so it was the only move he wanted to use. "C'mere, Destello." Poor thing was all beat up now. They needed to be more careful. Using a couple of potions on the Shinx, Alejandro pat his head softly and was pleasantly surprised when he actually purred this time. Seemed Destello was getting a bit more friendlier. That was a good sign. He was doing something right by him apparently.

Alejandro looked around with Destello for another Pokemon to fight, but he was distracted by Pooka. The Rockruff ran up on him carrying something in her mouth and he knelt, nose scrunched a bit. What was she eating? He sort of had to wrestle it away from her, and it was a relief to see the disc wasn't damaged. "Grass Knot, huh? Hm....Hang on a second." Taking out his dex again, he looked through Abra's information. He remembered he had the TM for Psychic that his parents gave him. If Abra could learn that, he'd have to get that done as soon as he could. And, to his luck, he learned Abra could learn both Psychic and Grass Knot. Great! When Diego was treated, he'd teach them to him immediately. "Shinx!" "Coming, bud. Come on, Pooka. Let's go cheer on Destello. And, thanks for the find, girl. Keep your eyes open for more, yeah?" "Ruff!"

Alright. That was enough training for now. A little break wouldn't hurt. He could get Diego treated, teach him those TMs, and even have Destello looked at while he was at it. They'd be back to training in no time. "Let's get to the Pokemon Center. Abra needs treatment and I don't want to rely too heavily on potions." Alejandro led the way to the center, the two Pokemon following him; Destello with a bored expression and Pooka with a happy bounce in her step. She was just a joyful little thing. Walking into the center, Alejandro handed both Destello and Diego's ball to the nurse with a short, simple request to have them looked at. The quicker they got out of there, the better.

Joy returned his Pokemon to him rather quickly with a sickeningly cheerful attitude, but he gave a quick thanks before hurrying from the building. Once outside, he relaxed and Alejandro got out Diego's ball to let the Abra out. "Hey there. Welcome to the team." "Ra?" "Hope you don't mind that I caught you. You were just too cute to resist. The name's Alejandro. This is Destello and Pooka." He watched as Diego examined the two Pokemon, taking an instant liking to Pooka; which, of course, made her the happiest thing in existence. "So, do you think you'll like traveling with us?" "Ra."

"Okay....Let's see. How do I teach these to you?" After a few minutes of figuring things out, Alejandro managed to teach Psychic and Grass Knot to Diego. That was neat. TMs were interesting things to have. Well, and useful. "Newest member of the team and already turning out to be a powerhouse. Jeez." That was a good thing, though. Diego could protect himself during battles now.

Once Diego was all juiced up on decent moves, Alejandro returned the Abra to his ball. He'd train him up later, after Destello and maybe Cazador. When did Abra evolve? He'd have to check sometime. For now, though, he was focused on Destello and it looked like his next battle was up.

The fact that they were running into Abra that didn't get a chance to teleport away was great, though Alejandro would rather run into a Meowth to catch. He'd be here for days at this rate....Not a bad deal really. It was a nice town. But, he'd probably go crazy if he saw nothing but whatever Hau'oli had to offer.

Walking through the city with Destello and Pooka, Alejandro came across a shop selling evolution stones. He could use a moon stone for Reina....Once she was caught up to the others anyway. "What can I help you with today, sir?" Alejandro ignored her as he thought. Would it be best to buy it now or wait? He didn't want to be tempted into evolving her sooner than he should, but he also didn't know when his next chance to get a moon stone would be. "Ro?" "Thinking." After a couple minutes of debate, he decided to just buy it now and save himself the trouble later. "Thank you for the purchase!" "Mm-hm." Stuffing the stone in his bag, Alejandro walked away from the stall and looked around. Where were all the Meowth? That was the only reason he decided to come to Hau'oli and he hadn't seen a single one.

When you wanted something, it wasn't there. When you didn't want it, there was no way it wouldn't be there. Still, Destello was getting in some effective training, so it wasn't an entire loss. His caster went off and Alejandro answered it, reading the text from his friend only to roll his eyes. He wasn't going out of his way to find Mitsuru just to get her autograph for him. Alejandro didn't even like her music all that much. Besides, there was no way he was going to be able to find out which region the pop star was currently traveling in. It'd be a huge detour he wasn't willing to take. Alejandro furrowed his brows. Now that he thought about it, maybe Mitsu looked familiar because he looked so similar to Mitsuru. His name sounded similar, too. Huh....Small world.
