Venice Page of Ganymede- outside.

Venice had been walking toward the big tree with the two other knights when he realized he was moving around more puddles. It seemed they were getting more and more...that wasn't good - he was sure of it. "More puddles...too many now." Venice said, flicking his dark eyes to both of the knights, as he jumped over a puddle and nearly landed in another that decided to suddenly crop up.

Regaining his balance, before he face planted in the newly formed puddle, the page hurried his pace but was mindful of the puddles. "More careful." He added. He really wasn't liking this, as he saw two puddles become one. It seemed like they were collecting and becoming bigger, even as more cropped up. "Not good feeling..." This really wasn't a good feeling.

He wasn't expecting what soon happened, what he was soon faced with, as he was staring soon at a puddle but it was standing up and in front of him. That feeling he'd felt was stronger now and right in front of him, coming from the puddle that was his size and seemed humanish in form.

He didn't have a weapon, a feather duster was not a weapon, and lacked magic so he had to lash out with a physical attack. Kicking at it he brought his leg up high, toward where the shoulder would be, and hit as hard as he could.

Kairatos -outside with Meteora and others

Trust Kairatos' first instinct to be to curse loudly and belt his gooey doppelganger with a crutch. It was probably not the best for the crutch, but delivered a firm looking hit, even if the impacting sound wasn't quite... right. It made a sound a little more like hitting a large rubber covered punching dummy, and felt... well... not unlike that too, vibrations running up the crutch and shivering through his palms, making them slightly more numb on the grips.

Well, he hadn't been wrong anyway. The bad feeling, the summons...

Then again, predicting that something bad would have come about after that combination was sort of like predicting that the earth would continue to orbit the sun for the foreseeable future. Sort of fish in the barrel affair.

Eternal Chaldene- outside.

Watching the ground, for more puddles, he heard the chibi's question and answered without lifting his head. He had been noticing a few more puddles turning up, and he wanted to keep them from walking into one of them. Prodding the kitty on his shoulder he pointed down, to indicate this, as he answered Oort. "Transcending is what those with the glowing markings have done. They are unable to be corrupted by the Negaverse. They also have a deeper connection to their planet." He had found out from Maia, it paid to live with a transcended eternal senshi and her family. He was able to learn a lot from her, she had a good amount of experience.

"There are several transcended senshi and knights as well." He added right before he had to move quickly to avoid a newly forming puddle. As it formed, and grew, it seemed to migrate into the next puddle and combine with it. As it formed into one larger puddle he lifted his head, standing there, his eyes on the chibi.

"Be careful, we're getting more puddles and they are moving now." He said, letting his concern shine through his voice. He didn't like this one bit. If Maia was here she'd know what to do, or at least be doing more, he was sure. Instead he was taken by surprise as the puddles around them had started to form one big puddle before it seemed to...stand up and than take on a form. "s**t...ummm...this isn't good." He said looking from Tomlin to Oort.

"This is where I'd say we fight...and-." And nothing, he was getting hit across the face by what looked like an arm but felt like...like silicon, he wasn't about to say what it really felt like he was hit in the face with. His mind was a bit in the gutter with the idea his brain had provided him, for no real reason either.

The sting and throb in his cheek, from being hit, had him reaching up to rub his jaw for a moment to ease the throb. He didn't want to spend too long on trying to make himself feel better, knowing it didn't matter right now. Instead he turned his focus onto the thing which felt so wrong - so off. It felt like if it were a a living thing it would be equal to him in power. Returning the favor he used his lower arm to smack the thing across the face.

"Oort, be careful. You too Tomlin. If you need help I can provide a distraction - to let you regroup."

It started out almost unnoticeable, and then it grew. A feeling of warmth that seeped up through the soles of shoes into feet and legs before traveling upwards. Before long, the whole body felt warmed and unusually energetic.

The failure to do more than surface damage to some of these beasts seems to have sparked a reaction. Energy, from the planet itself, surges into those who have come to protect this place. Ida is not going to sit idly by and wait to be saved.

You heeded it's call. You've gained it's blessing.

---

If anyone rolls below 10 at any point, you may add +5 to that character's next roll. Ida is sending you a surge of energy to bolster you in this fight.

Sailor Skoll - Outside the Tower

Black... goo. There was black goo on this tower. Where ever this tower was. (Ida? The planet Ida? She though that's what she heard maybe.) Black goo in space rarely meant anything good in movies or video games (blight, reapers, corruption, interstellar replicators). It raised interesting questions in her mind a she watched the good move. How did a world become sick? Did this happen to Earth? Did she have a planet in her namesake that was also sick?

She would have stood there pondering about it, except the goo then became monsters and one lunged at her. It was an ugly thing, slightly mushy and very much a 'no'. Skoll was not used to this whole monster thing; youma were one thing, this was another. It swung one of its gross arms at her, the senshi deftly dodging out of the way except for the tail pinned to her pants.

"Oh come on, not the tail I like that accent." She grumbled and rounded on the creature, slamming a fist into it's face with a squelching noise.

Yep. As gooey as she expected. Ugh.

Gorner, Page of Castor. - Just entering the building.

Was it just her eyes or were more puddles forming? Not just more puddles but were they moving? Though maybe it was just that puddles were spreading out or becoming bigger...either way it seemed one puddle was joining with another - forming an even bigger mess. It wasn't just outside, where she'd been looking, but what was coming down the walls as well.

"Might want to watch it. Looks like something is gonna happen soon." Thinking about horror movies and such, she was sure something was about to happen. What though? She hadn't a clue, but she would be ready for it...at least she hoped so. if she wasn't, if she got hurt, she was sure to hear it from her cousins.

When the puddles started to stand, somehow defying gravity and some rather big scientific laws, she felt it was time to act rather than look around and talk and ponder things. She'd been wanting to act this whole time and now it seemed she could do something! Finally! With something in front of her to do the white haired page sent a fist at the rubbery like...persons face? It wasn't a person but it had taken on the shape of a person, and was even her height!

"Looks like we finally get to fight!" Did she sound a bit excited? Because she really was, if she wasn't busy she might even be bouncing on her feet.

Scholomance Knight, fighting Scholomance Knight

Scholomance knew Venice objected heavily to the tar on the ground, but as he wasn’t directly attacked last time he was on Ida, he didn’t worry terribly about their appearance. If there was danger to them, he imagined the puddles would be more interested in Ida herself- others fumbling about on the planet proved more of a distraction than a deterrent. As the pair of knights walked with him, he intended to ignore the disgusting goop and find Ida as soon as he could (even if he wasn’t her greatest fan).

The gelatinous, squelching mixture rose before him, however, and barred his path as it shaped into his own charcoal likeness. Taken aback, Scholomance was uncertain how to react to such a gesture, but recourse soon became clear when the imitation struck out at him. Scholomance took the hit to the face - a blunt strike that assured him of a bruise later - and corrected himself enough to catch a glimpse of Venice fighting his double. Scholomance himself backed up in response, and soon summoned his own weapon to his side - even if he wasn’t certain that a whip would do much good against jelly.

Still, he made an effort of it. The bone whip uncoiled in his grasp, and he aimed a cracking slash at the thing, which resulted in a deep wedge forming in the material. The sonic aftermath of his own whip startled him, shedding light on his own inexperience with his weapon, but the creature-form seemed unaffected by this notion. Instead, it only continued toward him with the intent to harm.

„I don’t know what the hell these things are, or even if we can stop them. Stay, or fight?“ He asked toward the other two, though his gaze remained on his adversary. „If it’s possible to get rid of them, I can help you dodge hits after, but that’s… I don’t know how to fight tar.“

He hadn't heard the pair down the hall conversing, they weren't in view, but the shout wanting to know what was happening was easy enough to hear. He picked up speed heading towards the others. He almost slipped in a puddle of goo that trailed down the wall and pooled on the floor. He frowned deeply, not liking what was going on here. He touched the goo, pulling it away from the wall and staring at it. It felt disgusting and a shiver ran down his spine. It didn't belong here ... "Ida what on earth is going on here .."

He wondered where the planet's senshi was as he moved away from wall and side stepped any puddles that formed. He rounded the bend frowning as the oozes ran more thickly and pooled more readily. Finally he saw the other's in the hallway, but he couldn't be relieved. Two of them were negaversers, the third a knight and ooze seemed to run and pool as thickly even down the hall.

The red headed squire frowned as it seemed to pool in front of him and pulled together gathering and growing. He tried to move around it without touching it or being touched by it and backed away from it watching the substance. "Ida ..." he spoke, not so much asking the blob, but asking without words what was going on.

He summoned his weapon, as the thing solidified and looked somewhat like him, an ooze version. He slashed out at it, backing up more quickly, watching it get sliced, a gash opening in it, but seeming not to much more. He chanced a peek at the other's, only to get scratched by the creature his jacket tearing.

"This thing has talons," he shouted a warning of sorts.

No worries, Elpis has thick skin and is equally annoyed. XD

Sailor Elpis // Miss Kitty

"Eh, better to cover my bases." Elpis shrugged. "Same boat then. No idea where in space we are. For all we know the Pioneer probe is going by." She groaned, shaking her head as Miss Kitty's ear flicked.

"Still, unusual location, unknown elements -- Temporary truce to check things out together? More lkely to live long enough to get--"

Miss Kitty jerked to stand then, fur ruffling at the black yuck rising in humanoid (and one feline) form, hissing.

"If you two don't mind, I think this stuff is alive."

The Mauvian growled, fur ruffled as she snarled, and Elpis groaned, looking to Witherite.

"Feel like dancing with the weird equivalent of goo-clones?" She nodded.

Tomlin, Guardian Cat - Outside

Infected homeworlds. That was not good news. Tomlin eyed the monumental trees around them suspiciously, wondering which senshi this place could belong to. Clearly the two with him were as much visitors as he was. So if what Chaldene had described was the same as what was going on here, somewhere there could be another senshi in very dire need of help.

Coppery eyes fixed on the sliding puddles the Eternal pointed out. They weren’t even pretending to be static now, visibly flowing together even as he watched, and taking on a solid, unfriendly shape. Dammit, it really was going to be a battle. He’d hoped for Oort’s sake that there would be some other way to help, something else they’d been summoned to do. But the kid was still ready to fight if he had to…

Tomlin saw the tarry arm lash out, too slow to call a warning. The cat leapt from Chaldene’s shoulder straight back to the ground, landing neatly in the jungle grass behind him.

As if triggered by his paws touching down, a new patch of liquid chaos swarmed towards him, flowing upward and forming into a simulacrum of a black cat, about his own size. Arching his back, Tomlin hissed at it and swiped out with a claw on instinct. It felt like trying to slash a car tyre, and he expected his claws would have about as much effect, but the creature reeled back from the strike.

Regrouping. Yes, something like that, he decided, and turned tail, bolting towards Chibi Oort while Chaldene fought his goop-double, and the black cat oozed.

“Oort!” he called, and hesitated. He knew what he needed to do, but the words tasted strange to him, so contrary to his nature. But this was an emergency. He steeled himself, and spat out his request.

“Oort, pick me up!”

Wither frowned and made a face to which he said point blankly, "that is not funny. Been picked up once already ... in this crazy war everything is completely possible." He was almost tempted to huff exasperated with the girl, but refrained.

He didn't like the idea of a truce with a magic slinger, but this one wasn't terrible and he liked the idea of dying far less. He was engaged now, survival was pretty key if he wanted to make it to the alter.

"Okay, but any funny business and I'll not hesitate to drain you until you pass ..."

His sentence wouldnt be finished, as he frowned when the goo ran over his shoe and the cat bade them to pay attention. The goo was turning into something, three somethings that looks vaguely like the three of them.

"Never a dull moment," he muttered before giving a nod to the senshi. "I have a feeling we do not have a choice in the matter ... tell me you have some useful magic." He clutched his weapon tighter, it was obviously what he had. He slashed out at them trying to keep them back his fork contacting in opening a gash in the one that looked most like him.

Caia was a mixture of intrigued and grossed out; the oily monster in front of him, that looked kind of like him was enough to make him feel disgusting. He wanted to go home and take no less than three showers.

He had been briefly separated from the rest of the group, but he could still see them, fighting their own battles. Being close to them was reassuring, even if he didn't know what exactly he was doing.

His instinct shouldn't have been to think about showers though, and the brief distraction of trying to figure out what was going on and what he was fighting and what to do was enough that his gooey opponent got the upper hand. His side was suddenly on fire, like he'd run hip first into a sharp corner. He flailed just enough to whack the monster's...arm?...when it recoiled, but Caia did a fraction of the damage that had been done to him. He didn't think he was bleeding, but he knew he was going to have a bruise.

Chibi Sailor Oort
Location: Outside with Chaldene and Tomlin

As Chaldene started to explain more about transcendence, Oort realised that he did know what it was..

Well more like he had seen people with glowy markings before - Methone had had had glowy markings and as had Megrez...

The woman at the New Year's party with the stupid masks had had them too.

But more and more of the puddles were appearing and they seemed to be running into some of the other puddles from before and Oort didn't need Chaldene to tell him that it was a bad thing - because he could see that it was a bad thing - a really bad thing.

Tomlin's sudden call had him looking over in the ginger star cat's direction and away from the weird goo-thing forming in front of him and whilst Oort wasn't sure why the other wanted suddenly up, he also didn't argue because it would be safer for his friend off the ground.

He swung at the goo thing that was looking more and more humanoid-like but was not able to avoid it as one of the forming arms lashed out at him the thing surprising solid.

It hurt but it wasn't enough to stop him from taking the opportunity to move over to Tomlin and carefully pick up the guardian cat.

From bad to worse to . . . much worse.

Quartz took in the whole of the situation and struggled to come up with a plan of action. He had a nearly-defenseless lieutenant to look after, the walls were dripping with black ooze, and now first one and then two knights were right on top of them and demanding answers. It was a public relations fiasco at best.

"We're as confused as you are," Quartz said with as much honesty as humility. As far as he knew, he and Idrialite were trapped on an enemy world, surrounded by enemy hostiles, and possibly likely to be blamed for the walls starting to bleed some kind of living tar. The best thing to do would be defer as much blame as quickly as possible, and try to lower the stacked odds against them by using diplomacy rather than a show of arms. "And we don't know anything. We're not here to attack anyone -- we just want to go home."

As he spoke, he attempted to keep track of any movement in his peripheral vision. This wasn't hard; the dark ichor oozing off the walls stood out easily. And it was -- moving, more than just with the flow of gravity. It was coalescing.

Quartz grabbed the lieutenant by the upper arm and pulled him behind his back; with only the two of them and an unknown situation, a back-to-back defense was a versatile, solid option, and it let Quartz put his weaker, less experienced partner safely behind him, away from the greatest source of threat. "It's moving," he cursed, his eyes flickering around between the sludge and the two knights. To Idrialite, he added, "Stay close to me. Try not to let it touch you -- we don't know what might happen."

That was about as much complex planning as there was time for, while -- all around them -- the black amber pooled on the floor and then rose up into humanoid shapes, looming dangerously in toward them. There was a sense of malevolence, an unfamiliar aura of Chaos; and then analysis was left to compete with reaction: the creatures attacked.

Quartz was as prepared as he supposed he could be, in the situation. He preferred, in most cases, to avoid fighting; and beyond that, he preferred not to use his weapon, keeping it as an ace-in-the-hole in combat situations. This case was a little different. Without knowing the nature of the things attacking them, he wasn't willing to risk the possibility of engaging in fisticuffs with a creature made of living acid, or sap from a poison oak, or the swamp thing from the special arsenic swamp.

Accordingly, and with the silent, cold fury of someone who has had the worst day, he summoned his beautiful gold spear to hand and sliced downward hard, neatly severing one of the creature's black clawed arms and temporarily throwing it back a few feet.

"Any ideas?" he suggested to the group of them at large.

Hvergelmir Knight of the Cosmos - 4th Floor

Hvergelmir had always liked the tree behind the glass. The parent tree, Ida had said it was -- the one that spawned all the little memorial buds around it, the one that past Idans had so carefully sheltered in its own little bio-tube.

To Ida, perhaps her whole asteroid was special. That was fair. That was how it should be. But Hvergelmir had only an academic interest, where Ida had a connection -- and to her, the parent tree had always seemed special.

It was what Hvergelmir waited for, hoping that the asteroid would keep coming back to life. Hvergelmir was waiting for a particular rebirth: this tree.

Ida had fallen asleep long ago. Hvergelmir, wanting to give her her privacy to rest -- and wanting a little privacy of her own -- had taken the opportunity to wander her way to the fourth floor to check on the progress of the parent tree, to see if there were any signs of stirring.

None that she could observe, as it turned out. Still, she was no expert on plants. She just sold them. Perhaps there were signs an experienced gardner might've noticed. She wouldn't lose hope yet.

"Someday you're going to bud again," she'd murmured through the glass, studying the beautiful shell of the once proud tree. "I believe that."

The tree didn't answer.

There was movement, though, suddenly -- at the edges of her vision. A sort of darkening . . .

Hvergelmir looked around.

The walls here had always been covered in little memorial bulbs. They were puffed up with pods now, too -- but unlike before, what she was seeing wasn't a series of solid pods. It was liquid -- as though the walls were bleeding through the skin.

Hvergelmir took a step back, nervous.

All around her, the black sap-like material was oozing forth, slurping down to the ground. It pooled, thick, and began to gather into -- into a worrisome shape.

"Ida...?" she called out, uncertain.

There was no answer.

Hurriedly circling the gathering sap -- its presence registering Chaotic to her senses -- Hvergelmir ran the rest of the way to where she'd left Ida sleeping earlier, only to find . . .

. . . nothing. An empty bed.

"Ida?" she shouted, louder this time. "Ida! Ida, where are you?!"

Whatever this creature was, it was following her. Hvergelmir found that worrying, to say the least -- but not nearly as worrying as the fact that, in the middle of all this, Ida had gone missing.

What had happened? Had one of these things gotten to her already? Was she in danger, or hurt?

"Ida!" she shouted repeatedly, reaching out for her distaff to defend herself. She smashed it into the tar monster's face with gusto, reeling away toward the stairs to try and look for her missing friend. "Ida!"

Please be okay.
