While trying to decide what to do, Nashira could have sworn she heard her name called. Turning, she saw Samhain. "Oh, hello Samhain." She wandered over towards her friend. "It..." she paused a moment, to pick her words. "...has been a while. I'm happy to see you again." She looked him over, then sort of offered a hug, unsure how to exactly go about hugging her friend. "Are you enjoying the festivities?" The hybrid was dressed in a pirate lass costume, a tattered red and black striped skirt fit well, but the black corset was ill-fitting for the curvaceous litch-geist.
Kingston:
Kingston grinned then gave Vanna a one-armed hug. "I like your costume. It suits you very well." Though it didn't look too different from what Vanna normally wore. "I didn't expect to see you..." He paused and peered around behind Vanna and spied the young chimera.
"Well hello there princess." Kingston bowed slightly to her. She looked a lot like Vanna. "Hmmm... Such a pretty young girl, you couldn't possibly be Vanna's date. You're far to pretty for a guy like him." He grinned at his friend. "You must be his sister."
Wyrdda approached the door of the haunted house carefully. It was an ominous, unfriendly looking building, in a bad state of decay. The only sign that it was inhabited were the signs leading up to it, promising a haunted house. This is what seniors do, she told herself. No one will fault us for going in here. She would have been the first to step foot on the porch if not for the fact that the other three were taking their jobs seriously. Instead, it was Naihilus who put his foot on the porch first. Nothing happened. Wyrdda let out a sigh of relief. She'd been expecting something. She followed the rest of them. But when all five of the friends were standing on the porch, something did happen. A rain of objects fell on their heads. Wyrdda would have shrieked if she was able. Instead, she waved her lantern and stared at the ground. The rain consisted of five objects: three paper ghosts, a bird skull, and a glass eye. Wyrdda shuddered. Now what?
Oriset scooped up the objects and held them up. "Alright, I'd say we've got our first prizes from the haunted house. Three ghosts and a couple of tricks. Who all wants ghosts?" In the end, the ghosts were divided between Wyrdda, Naihilus, and Kunibert. Jie and Oriset, being the most insistent on letting other people have the nice things, ended up going with the bird skull and the glass eye respectively. Oriset didn't really care either way--she was here to get candy and admire some top-notch set dressing. Maybe she'd open up a haunted house of her own someday?
Jie shuddered. Having a bunch of objects fall on her head was not her idea of fun. But hey, they'd committed to this, and her friends were promising to keep her safe. With that in mind, she consented to taking the bird skull. She had no idea what she'd do with it--probably bury it. It was kind of horrible, after all, how had someone even gotten one?!
Naihilus hadn't been expecting a rain of objects while they were all standing there--he'd been expecting a loud noise when he first stepped onto the porch. Oh well. He gathered the others up, tucking his ghost away. "We'll stick close," he said. "Remember the cardinal rule of haunted houses: we don't touch them, and they don't touch us. We all ready?"
Oh, thank goodness Kunibert wasn't being asked to handle the bones. He'd had enough of bones to last a lifetime, thank you very much. They weren't very useful for crafting anything, anyway. "I sink ve are as ready as ve'll ever be." He put his ghost away in his bucket and steeled himself. "So...vhat's ze party order?"
Some explanation followed, then a discussion. It was determined that Oriset would take the lead, followed by Wyrdda, then Jie, with the rear taken up by Kunibert and Naihilus. Thus settled, they started on their journey.
Their band's first stop was actually at a game booth where they flipped over cards to see what they got. Yaviss flipped over a card at random, earning him a glow bottle. He liked it--it was green and glowing, and it was hard to deny that that was pretty fun.
Quilo as the next to flip over a card. His card was obviously not a very good one. He cringed as a cracked glass eye was handed to him. "Thanks," he mumbled. What could he possibly do with this?
Yaviss looked over his shoulder, an idea starting to form. "At the end of the night, you can give any of your rocks, bones, or glass eyes to me."
Gratefully, Quilo nodded. "Thanks, Yaviss."
Fenaret giggled at his brother's attitude, but just went along with it. He was used to it by now. He followed his brother just outside of the festival grounds onto a street of brightly lit houses. The first house they stopped at was particularly good. The lady at the door asked them what they were, they explained, she laughed, and she gave them not only some candy, but stuffed animals as well! At first, Fenaret thought that his stuffed animal was poorly made--it was missing an eye!--until he inspected it more closely and saw that the missing eye was deliberate. The fabric was still new, the seams were held together well. It was just a stuffed animal depicting an injured rabbit. "Thank you! Happy Haunted Hallows!"
Francesca was disappointed that the same house gave him a much smaller stuffed animal, but hey, the bat was pretty. "Thank you! Happy Haunted Hallows!" As they walked away, candy apple and stuffed animal tucked away, Frankie said, "I liked that house. They were nice."
Batholith was far less impressed by that house. They had given him a rock. That was alright, but this one was glowing slightly, and when he touched it, he felt fear and sadness. He held out the rock to the kids. "If anyone hands you an object like this, one that makes you scared when you touch it, don't touch it. I'll take it." He put it in his bucket and herded the kids over to a less disreputable house (he hoped).
Sound Lee followed his friends to the first house, trilling "trick or treat!" right alongside them. The lady at the door seemed really nice--she handed them their treats, but also included a stuffed animal with each one. Well, she was nice! Sound Lee quite enjoyed his little stuffed rabbit. It had a missing eye, but that was okay--it was October. Not everyone was born with two eyes, and apparently, neither was this bunny. He also received a rock plopped into his bucket, but he didn't think too much of it, except to breathe a sigh of relief that it hadn't crushed his little ghostie. He pulled the ghost out of his bucket and put it into his pocket for safe keeping. There! Much better.
Vederat was a little disappointed--this house wasn't giving out candy. Instead, it was giving strange black rocks that glowed slightly. But hey, stuffed animals, and you didn't see those every day of the week! He thanked the lady and tucked the rabbit into his bucket. It was soft and fluffy in spite of its missing eye.
Aurabelle as as annoyed as Vederat was. In fact, Aura would describe themselves as more annoyed--the boys got stuffed rabbits, but all they got was a stuffed bat! There was no justice in this world, they decided. Oh well. A stuffed animal was a stuffed animal. They put the stuffed bat next to the shiny rock and moved on.
Callessa led the way across the fair. They kept an eye out for their former teacher, Sherald--she usually came to the fair to give out prizes. There was no sign of her so far, though. Oh well. Their first stop was a dart game. It was one of the old classics of the festivals. Callessa got two darts and threw them carefully. Both of them popped a balloon, allowing a card to be read out by the vendor. They handed her the cards. "One stuffed animal and a glove of popcorn," they said. "You pick a stuffed animal while I get you your popcorn."
Popcorn in a glove was never good, and Cal didn't really do stuffed animals, but she looked at the lot anyway, and smiled. There were spider plushies? Nice! She preferred insects to spiders, but anything that killed flies and the pests that tormented her garden were good in her book. "I'd like the spider with an orange head," she said.
"Right you are," the vendor said. They handed her her prizes and moved on to Eidil.
Eidil smiled. Cal was keeping her plushie--that was very good. She didn't always do that. She was glad to see that her girlfriend was learning to accept the power of the plushie. In the meantime, it was her own turn to throw the darts. She was a little luckier than Cal was--her first prize was a stuffed animal as well, albeit a smaller one, but her second prize was a cute ghost instead of some yucky candy. "I'd like the black and purple bat, please, and the ghost with the swirly eyes. Thank you so much for the game!"
"You're welcome," said the vendor. "Happy Haunted Hallows!"
"Happy Haunted Hallows to you, too," she said with a smile. She wrapped an arm around Cal's waist and they moved on.
Hm, okay, so, remember how the skull with a candle on it was the "weirdest thing" Ustule had ever gotten at Haunted Hallows? Not long after that senior ran off, someone else ran past her, or maybe it was the same person again. This time, they dropped a bag full of small animal bones in her cauldron. She was speechless. Why did they have small animal bones? And why were they throwing them in random people's buckets? She glared at the senior, but they did not look back to her. Oh well.
Her confusion (and annoyance) did not last long, as within quick succession, she saw four things that brightened her heart. The first one was her friend Histeol, walking forward with his guide-fox. He had left the cane at home this year--presumably it was so that he could have a hand free for treats. She walked over to him to take his arm. "Hello, Histeol. Eet's good to see you."
The second (and third) thing was Prometheus and his brother. She'd heard about Xeizii, but had not yet been formally introduced. Guiding Teo along with her in their direction, she smiled to the Litch in the wheelchair. "Eet ees good to see you both! You're not late, Prometheus, you are right on time. Eet's good to meet you et lest, Xeizii. I em Ustule, end thees ees Histeol."
The fourth thing came as a bit of a surprise, and it wasn't technically a sight--not at first, anyway. Something ran into the long, ragged grey dress she wore and got tangled in the hem. She knelt down to handle it (it was doubtless a pet of some kind). It was a revenant! Of course, Ustule had a soft spot for them. She picked up the revenant and arranged its paws around her neck so that it could cling on. "End thees ees...Cerecloth, I guess."

Histeol's response is in the post below--I'm not going to quote you there 'cause I don't want to quote spam you. Perigor will join the group of trick-or-treaters when he's grown.
Melisara knew this place better than either of her brothers did, so she took the lead, starting off with a booth where they could turn over cards to win a prize. "Some prizes will be tricks," the vendor explained. "And some will be treats. Some cards are also marked with a star, which mean that you can turn over another card."
The entire table was covered with cards--she estimated there were about one hundred. "How many tahms can we play?"
"Just once every half-hour," the vendor said. They winked. "I'll be keeping track!"
Sara laughed and turned over a card. There was a drawing on the other side. It took her a second to realize what it was, then she laughed even louder than before. "O' course! It wouldn't be Haunted Hallows without turnip lanterns!"
The vendor chuckled. "They're a tradition in Asphodel Garden. You're the first person I've met who wasn't annoyed by them."
Sara grinned. "Ah took mah kidden with me one year, and she ate every turnip we got. She was so gassy that night!"
"Oh dear," the vendor said, grinning. "Well, keep 'em away from her tonight, eh? Oh, you've got another card. Go on, then!"
Sara turned over the second card and found that it lead to a stuffed animal. She turned to look at the boys, but they grinned and shook their heads. "Your turn for a stuffed animal, Sara," they said. She shook her head and picked the large red bat plush and stepped aside for her brothers to have a go.
His sister's cards looked promising (well, the second one did, anyway). Sara had spent way too much time giving her plushies away. It was time for her to start keeping them for herself. Deni reached out to flip over a card and sighed. Oo, a bracelet! Not as good as candy, but better than bad candy. He picked out a green bracelet and slid it on. "Thank you," he said to the vendor.
Niol patted his twin on the back in sympathy and tried his own hand at the cards. He had less luck than his brother. Raisins? Raisins were okay on their own or better yet baked into oatmeal cookies, but not on Haunted Hallows. Oh well. He nibbled the raisins as they moved on. Pretty good raisins, but there was a time and a place, y'know... "Raht, what's next?"
Card flipping, eh? How prosaic. But Zuna took their turn anyway and was rewarded with a blue sugar skull. Thankfully, the skull did not taste of anything more than sugar when they licked it. "Well, that was fun," the Naiad said. "What next?"
Histeol was a little startled to someone's arm wrap around his, but relaxed when it just proved to be Ustule. Haint, however, growled. She was not going to forget this in a hurry. "Well, I'm glad I'm so easy on the eyes," Teo joked. He let himself be led along. He trusted Ustule to be taking him somewhere good.
His trust was rewarded--it was clearly Prometheus! With--a stranger? A short stranger. No, that wasn't right. The voice came from a low height, but it had the sound of someone with a teenager's chest and vocal cords. A short person would have been higher pitched--this sounded like a tall or medium sized person sitting down. It was odd. Apparently the stranger's name was Xeizii, and judging by his accent, he was a Borean. Most likely he was a Litch--in Teo's admittedly limited experience, even Borean Chimeras didn't sound like that. Okay, so someone seated but moving. Prometheus standing behind him. So...someone in a wheelchair? Yes, that made sense. Teo therefore extended his hand at what he estimated to be the level of the person in the wheelchair. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Xeizii. You must be a new friend of Prometheus's?"
Someone brushed past Teo and dropped something in his bucket. He didn't pay attention to it because he felt something at the hem of his pants. He bent his knees to feel what the object was and felt his fingers brushed by a set of whiskers. "Hello?" he said. "Who are you, dear? Don't worry, I won't hurt you." He reached down to feel at Haint. She was alert. She didn't act like that in the presence of a cat, so it was probably a fennekit. He turned to the three Litches. "I'll be just a minute." With that, he knelt down on the ground and extended his fingers in the direction the whiskers went. They brushed past him again, this time accompanied by a wet nose sniffing at him. The head got a little closer and Teo gently reached out to touch it. The kit shied away again, then came back for another round. This time, it let him scratch its ears. "Hello, dear," he said. "Would you like to come with us?"
The kit yipped softly. "I'll take that as a yes." He carefully picked up the kit with his free arm, then turned to the Litches. "Alright, sorry about that, apparently we have even more friends with us tonight. Speaking of which, where's Peri?"

Anchriesel sighed. There was still no sign of Zalir. Oh well. He set off in the direction of a ring toss game. He got a couple of rings to toss and proceeded to do an okay job. He did well enough to get a trick instead of a treat, but not well enough to get a plushie or one of those rats they were giving out as prizes. Oh well. He picked out some candy corn and moved on.
Talya found some of her friends a lot sooner than he thought he would. She saw Darryl walking with his mother and ran over to them. "Hey, you're here! It's so good to see you!" She tapped Darryl on the back and waved to Mesektet. "Evelyn's not done yet?"
Someone passed by and she held out her bucket. "Trick or treat?"
"Sure, kid," the adult said with a smile. They handed her a large lollipop.
"Thank you!" she said. "Happy Haunted Hallows!"
Mesektet smiled as they saw their daughter's best friend. "It's good to see you, too, Talya. Evey's still working on her homework, so far as I know. The night is still young, though."
Darryl was glad that Talya hadn't hugged him--or at least, he thought he was glad. Now he wasn't so sure. Oh well. He gave her one of his rare smiles to indicate that it was, indeed, good to see her, too. Now if only everyone else were to show up... He held out his bucket to the same adult that Talya had greeted and whispered, "Trick or treat!"
The adult awed and handed him a candy apple. He accepted it with another smile and a murmur of thanks. The evening was looking good, and it had only just begun!
Jurvik chuckled. "Flat cola? That's disgusting." They moved on to a spin-the-wheel game. Jurvik tried his hand at it and came up with...okay, that was worse than flat cola. "Is this real?" he asked the vendor, appalled, as he held up the bird skull he'd found in the treat bag he'd been handed after spinning.
The vendor grinned. "Hard to say, on a night like this."
Jurvik didn't like this place at all. He shoved the skull into his sporran, then backed off to watch the kids nervously. He wanted to get out of here, and soon.
Something ran onto his boot. He stared down at it. It was a small patchwork rat, wiggling its nose at him. He smiled and reached down his hand to it. It crawled into his hand, still sniffing at the air. "Well, alright, then," he said. He showed it to Xeno and Ruka. "Alright, your turn at the wheel of terror."
Xenophon took his turn at the wheel, keeping in mind the grisly prize his father had won. However, he was a bit luckier than Dad--he instead won a candy apple. "Maybe the game's rigged," he teased Jurvik.
Nkiruka took a deep breath and tried out the wheel as well. She had a pretty good chance of getting something nice, and she succeeded--she won a deep red stick of cotton candy. She laid it reverentially in the plastic bucket she'd picked up at the entrance. "I agree with Xeno, Dad--it's totally rigged."
Aurelia was having a grand old time, skipping about and seeing so many others in costume. This was literally the greatest thing ever! She walked up to a door and enthusiastically said "Trick or Treat!" as she held up her bucket. The litch at the door said nothing but smiled in a rather mischievous way, carefully placing the plastic pumpkin goblet into the waiting bucket. Aurelia thought it was nifty looking but just as the door was closing a junior litch came back to the door and put something else into bucket with a wink to the nixie. Another plushie! So cute! As she reveled in her booty she heard a familiar screaming, making her search among the crowds until she spotted a familiar naiad. She weaved her way through the crowds to sneak up behind Meadow before bull-rushing him with a hug. "BOO! Imma getchu!" Instant giggles followed the words.

Aaaand Aurelia says Hi. ^_^
Iolanthe was starting to have more fun as the night went on, seeing how excited everyone was and how pretty the spooky yet cute decorations were. Despite the weird glowing rock sitting in her cauldron, she was still managing to have a good time as she walked around more. She froze in place when a random freshling rushed up to her and dropped a bag of chocolate skulls into her bucket, then skipped off singing "Treats! Treats! Lots of good eats!" rather excitedly. The fey decided not to question it, smiling and giggling to herself as she looked at the delectable little treats sitting there now.
Kohaku was actually skipping a bit as they made their way around to see the sights. Everything was just so...colorful. A few pointed out that they matched some of the colors and they were inclined to agree, given their green horns and orange-ginger fur and hair. Someone tapped them on the shoulder and they turned to see a little grimm who leaned over and whispered into their ear. "Pssst. I'm keeping an eye on you." Something was dropped into Kohaku's cauldron and the freshling grimm ran off giggling like mad. The baphomet looked into the bucket to see a glass eye, slightly cracked, looking up at them....and they couldn't help but chuckle. They had to admit, it was a good pun. As they were walking away they nearly tripped on something, glancing down to see an abandoned and slightly scuffed up plushie at their feet. Kohaku frowned and picked it up, placing it gently into their bucket; if they found the owner, they'd return it and if not, then Goldie had a new playmate
The necklace was amazing and a great start to the festivals and she loved the fact that it glowed. Putting it in her bag she wondered what she would get next. Maybe she could go after more jewelry after all it would be good to have more pieces to go along with her new necklace but then there was all that candy and she was getting hungry. Oh here she was again swamped with all of the different choices.
It was about then that she passed a vendor selling bracelets. Oh that one went so well with her colors and it was in fall and haunted hallows colors that she decided it would be jewelry first and then off to go find food.
Xiaoshi was half tempted to try a bite of the chocolate but what if it actually did make you scream that. She definitely didn’t want to suddenly yell out in the middle of a crowd, that would be rather mortifying. Especially since she was sure she had seen a flash of familiar neon green and multiple tails. So Samhain had to be around here. Well he should stop being shy if he was going to watch her and come enjoy the festival, although she supposed he could have convinced lace to come and-
Xiaoshi scrunched up her nose as something hit in her in the face. She looked down to see a box of raisins lying on the ground. She really wanted to run after that freshling and teach it a lesson but it darted into the crowd and she noticed something sticking out of a bush. While it wasn’t nice to be hit with raisin boxes, the plushie was adorable and she was keeping it.
“Well who knows when I’m going to get called away and if I get into a dangerous situation I don’t want to be dressed in something that they won’t take me seriously in. Thus a suit of a different kind. The chalk was Mai and ren’s fault.” Vanna replied rolling his eyes. The two had ambushed him when he opened the door and as soon as he got his costume on had decided he was going to be a professor and dumped chalk powder on him. He had just stopped sneezing. “Haha very funny Kingston, besides if I was going to take a date then I wouldn’t be taking a-” He trailed off as something tugged on his coat and a freshling smiled with a toothy grin before handing him a plastic thingy and a plushie. Vanna opened his mouth to try to give it back but they disappeared into the crowd. He looked down at the little bat thing. “I think someone has a crush”
“Ugh shut up Ren….” Vanna snapped. Still he put the plushie in his bag. Ren had to chuckle. He didn’t think he had ever seen Vanna that way. He could almost see Mai in the older Chimera and it made the Fey happy. Still he didn’t want to get in the way of Vanna introducing to his sister so after his little quip which surprised even him he wondered over to a nearby vendor and picked up a thing of cotton candy. He didn’t think it would really last the festival but it would be nice to munch on and he didn’t mind sharing it. It looked like it would be a fun flavor too.
Munching on it he frowned, how was something that was blue grape flavored. Ah well, it was tasty?
Mai actually gave a rather feminine snort as Kingston complimented her. She always did think she looked an awful lot like Vanna for anyone to think that they were siblings, that and Vanna was in his twenties while Mai was 17. Vanna wasn’t the type to date some one that much younger than him. Still it was nice to get compliments. She always worried that she’d reflect back poorly on her brother’s siblings. “Hello there. Thank you for the compliments. From everything that Vanna is told me you must be um… Kingston. It’s a pleasure to meet you” Mai stated. Since she was busy looking at Kingston, she didn’t notice the same freshling that gave Vanna the plushie also slipped in a paper ghost in her bag. “Mai he’s not going to bite stop hiding behind me” Mai ignored her brother. Vanna wasn’t really serious anyways considering he had yet to move and push her forward.
“It’s good to see you again. Sorry I meant to try to track everyone down but I wasn’t the best for a while. I’m glad to see that you’re doing well. I just got here myself. I’m sort of following an exchange student I was saddled with. However I guess I am having…” Samhain trailed off as something hit him in the face. He scrunched up his nose and his ears lay flat against his head. “okay so I was having fun…”
Looking down at his hands, since he had caught the object when he fell he came face to face with a… white… chocolate… bat? Ahhh had to love festivals.
She listened to Sam and nodded as he spoke. "Do not worry. I don't believe most of us were... in much of a sociable mood after that. Though you and our ... power squad friends were in my thoughts often." She blinked in surprise when something hit Samhain. "Oh! Are you ok?" she asked as he looked at the bat in his hands. "..." Her face twisted into a mildly contemplative frown. The fact that someone was throwing things at them made her think of that night.
...She pushed the thought from her head. She was about to say more when there was a faint clatter of plastic. "What...?" She looked into her bucket and found a cute plastic bracelet. "At least these are rather nice surprises." No one was throwing rocks at them... yet. "So you are hosting an exchange student? A kumiho from the village, perchance?" She asked curiously. "I hope they are enjoying the festivities. Are you worried about them? We could attempt to find them if you like. After all... we are part of the power squad. We can do anything." She gently nudged him with her elbow. Sure it was probably childish to think of her small circle of friends as some sort of secret club or something, but it made her smile to think about it. "Would you like to walk around together for a while?"
Kingston:
"Good heavens!" Kingston put his hands to his face. "Vanna talked about me? All good things I hope!" He laughed. "Yes, I'm Kingston. It's a pleasure to meet you. Vanna has spoken fondly of you., Mai." The Grimm's smile was warm and friendly... he hoped. "And your brother is quite right. I don't bite, unless you're something delicious, like a big strawberry cake." He nodded. There was a clatter in his bucket and he looked down. Huh. Someone had just dropped some sort of locket into his bucket? Ok, he would look at that later.
His eyes then drifted to the third member with them, a fey he did not know. The other returned with some candy. "Smart kid! I like you already." His tail wagged. "But I don't think we have been introduced yet. I'm Kingston, and you are...?"
Vega:
So far, this night was looking like fun. Vega was pondering eating the strange gummy poo he was given... though he might give it to his sister as a joke. His thoughts were interrupted when someone jumped out at him. "BOO!" And a strange puppet was shoved into his hands. Vega looked at it and... started crying. What was this creepy thing? Why did he get it? "Geeze, Kid, shhh, I didn't mean to startle you... Uh... here, take this, just stop crying, kay?" The person who startled him handed him a pastel skeleton plush toy. Vega sniffled and looked at the new toy. It was rather adorable, so he held it close. The one who'd given it to him had vanished.
Meadow:
After a bunch of screaming and the rest of his chocolate bar, Meadow looked around for something fun to do or someone to torment. He spotted a rather tall geist with pink hair that could be amusing, but lost sight of them a moment later. The naiad walked by a crowd, and someone bumped into him. They both dropped their buckets. After the other person had picked up all their goodies Meadow found a little pumpkin necklace in the grass. Cool! Free stuff.
Charon:
Charon didn't know what to do with himself. He was a little hungry, so started looking for something to eat. He was distracted a moment by a pretty girl with several tails. Whoa, was she one of those kumiho he'd heard about? None were in his classes yet... No, maybe she was just hallowed. Either way, hubba hubba. He quickly bought a bag of candy to try and follow her to share, but lost sight of her. Oh well. Candy for him.
Keahi:
So this was trick or treating? Keahi wandered around, staring at everyone in their strange costumes. Eventually, they stood in front of a group of older kids and held up their basket. The older students thought they were adorable at first, and tried to shoo Keahi away to trick or treat at the stalls, but they stood there, holding their basked up, staring at the older kids. One of them finally broke down and dropped a bracelet into their bucket. Appeased, Keahi went on their way.
Adelinde wasn't as fond of the next booth she hit. Just reaching into a jar and pulling out a slip of paper with a prize written on it was sort of dull. But she couldn't fault the prize she'd won. Smiling and moving on, she nibbled at the mixed chocolate bat the booth's owner had handed to her.
Quote:
Stretching out, Coralie considered the handful of old, kind of gross candy she'd just been given. Wrinkling her nose in distaste, she considered slipping it into one of the kid's pails, but no. That would be mean. With a sigh, she let the candy fall into her own pail and looked up at the faint glow that seemed to be getting brighter.
Above her head was a small wisp. Smiling, Coralie reached up a hand to it.
"Well, aren't you pretty. Don't be afraid, little friend."
Quote:
Smiling as Coralie made friends with a wisp, Ashlynn kept the children in sight as she took her own turn at the game. Within moments, a large bag of candy corn was handed to her.
"Don't fret about the candy you got, Cora. We can share mine. And what is it with you and wisps anyhow? You're like... a wisp whisperer."
Laughing softly, she caught the imp up in a hug as the family continued through the fair.

It was just about time to meet Eliza. Jogging back towards the school, she had gotten close enough to the back to hear a shrill yelp. Speeding up, the grimm raced to the school just in time to see ELiza almost fall and then steady herself. Slowing slightly, she saw what had probably scared her friend into screaming and smiled faintly.
"I'd say you've made a friend, Eliza," she called softly to let the blind nightmare know she was there. Eyeing the revenant curiously, she began to describe the critter. "It's eyes are glowing, which is not quite the norm. Here, carefully touch it's face. It's the prettiest blue color with pink and teal. It's bigger than the pup I gave you and I think it knows that you're special. It's being so quiet and gentle."
Reaching out a hand, she gave Eliza's shoulder a reassuring squeeze before setting her arm around the other girl's shoulder to help her up.
In all the rush and amusement, she never saw who had left the nightmare fuel turnip in her pail.

"Now who left you here," Binhdi reached down to pick up a worn out jackalope plush. Glancing around, she didn't see anyone who seemed to have lost it. After a moment's thought she decided that she'd keep it. It would only need a good wash and maybe a seam or two tightened.
As she lifted the plush, a tooth fell from one of those loose seams. Eyes going wide, Binhdi looked at the tooth, then at the plush and back to the tooth. Then, just to be safe, she shook the everloving hell out of the plush to make sure no more teeth were inside.
Once she was sure the toy was safe, she tucked it into her pail and wondered how that single tooth had gotten there.

Wandering off a little way from their family, Gilby found a darkened booth manned by a seemingly irate litch.
"Get out of here, kid. We ain't open, okay?"
Since the litch looked kind of scary, Gilby didn't mind turning around and fleeing for their life. THey heard a faint yell from the litch as something hit their bucket and added a sudden bit of weight.
Once safe, Gilby checked their bucket and saw a rock inside. The litch had thrown a rock at them. Good grief.
