As Matao fell over another branch, she began to reflect on her life. She hadn't done much with it. She wandered the Roguelands a bit aimlessly, not quite sure how she was going to proceed with her life except knowing that she wanted friends to play with. She never had much of a puphood, she thought, so maybe that was the reason for her constant seeking of companionship.
But she was beginning to think this race wasn't worth it. She was starting to get tired and hungry and bitter. The winners circle seemed so far away now... Maybe she should just give up... But what if she was just a few steps away?

She must have traveled the unbeaten path, maybe the one away from the normal path. There were just so many stupid branches in her way! Her limp was bordering on severe and she had to make more frequent stops to nurse it. She let out a sigh and slowed to a walk. Maybe she would get her motivation to run again in a moment.

Leading the pack! He had dodged a few mishaps in front of him and was once again leading the others. A fantastic feeling that was all to suddenly taken away from him as he was going on an unexpected ride. Face full of dirt and mud he staggered before getting to his paws. Where had that power gone? As he staggered forward he caught the sight of the zebra before he was chased off by it. He didn't need to be told twice! Still reeling from the zebra attack he nearly tripped over some debris in the way but luckily caught himself before he was to fall down again. Best to let that all go and continue on. [Rolls: 4, 1, 5, 3 Total Points: 45] Having watched others have a rough go at it like herself she had a near miss with a tumble from the debris before her as her paws hit the ground hard from her run. So many tails were in front of her, this would not do. With a burst of energy the female rushed forward. Her paws carrying her forward soon neck and neck with other and then finally in front of them. HA! Eat dust. Craning her head to just look behind her she didn't even notice the rock. Paw snagging it, she tripped and after a splash in the water just resigned herself there for a moment. Taking in the refreshing feel before moving on. [Rolls: 3, 4, 6, 5 Total Points: 47]

Another zebra found Shideezhi and gave chase as she slipped off the path once more. Man, they really should have chased off these guys before the race! It seemed she wasn't the only one getting hassled. A few times she tried to break ahead, but with the press of the pack and everyone around her stumbling it was hard to keep going, especially when rocks and roots showed up right in her path! Finally she found a little space and broke through, trying to separate herself from the pack so at the very least she could see the obstacles that were ahead of her rather than almost tripping over them.

Cŵn Annwn found himself within a pack once again, the bodies of the other wild dogs making it difficult to see. Twice he nearly tripped over a branch, and when he finally got clear of those wild dogs he heard a strange sound off to one side, which caused him to lose his balance and tumble into the river once more. He found himself with the same pack of dogs and, even though he was dripping a trail behind him, he hoped he'd be able to break free again. Just not before he had to avoid more debris in the pathway.

Nalo was doing well until he heard a series of sounds that distracted him from focusing on what he was doing. Feeling uneasy about the sounds he was hearing, Nalo took a chance to glance behind him to see what was going on while he was still in a full run.
While he was trying to figure out what was going on, he did not pay attention to the large rock that was fast coming up in his path. So, Nalo tripped over the rock with such force that he was completely thrown off course and into a nearby stream. Nalo splashed a bit in surprise, but eventually got his bearings back and stood up.
He got himself out of the stream and shook as much water off as he could before taking off to join the others again. At least he was cooler now.

Halia is doing well. She’s in fifth place, which was better than she thought she would be. Nothing could stop her from finishing this race. Except for some weird noises coming from behind her. She doesn’t want to look, but something wasn’t right. She chanced a glimpse and tripped over a rock. She falls into the water, away from the track. Afraid she would lose her place, she gets out of the water, shakes her body and runs as fast as she can to get back in the race.

This was your proud moment - it looks as though you've practiced really hard for this event and you've got the attitude of a winner. 1. You're faced with the grueling task of completing a race, perhaps a race you weren't prepped for? At least that is how this display was seen - you've stumbled over a stick, collided with a rocky wall and collapsed in a muddy mess. You eventually get yourself cleaned up and do push forward. [1 Point]
3. You've seen a couple of individuals falter from the start, it's just your luck that you seem to be near those who are having some trouble. It is also just your luck that there happened to be a branch in your path, hidden by some additional debris and you almost stumble. This startles you and you must take a quick breath before continuing. [2 Points]
4. You're a winner! Through and through you have an outstanding outlook on this race and have not encountered anything to troublesome. Even those things you did encounter you quickly got over it and moved on. You're doing very well at this point in the race. [6 Points] Stumbling a little bit as she ran on she thought she had regained her footing only to slip on another stick and collide into a while. She wasn't entirely sure what it was with this race and tripping over sticks and stuff but sure enough she was seeming to do it quite well. She just shook herself off and continued on, the rest of the way going pretty smooth as she raced on. Quote: MinthePrevious Points: 22 Day 4 Points: 8 Total: 30 1. [2 Points] As she stumbled on a stick and slid into a wall she was quickly distracted by the sound of hooves and forced herself up as she looked around frantically to see if there was an animal nearby but in her hurry she stumbled and fell into another stream and grumbled to herself. Day 4 [Total: 44] Ha! Still leading the others! What a great feeling being out front while everyone needed to catch up to her paws. It didn't seem to stop as her paws were still carrying her forwards. Muscles taut with power as her paws made almost thundering sounds, even the momentary stumble didn't catch her off guard until the second stumble. A second stumble that landed her in water. Taking a quick drink to refresh herself she kicked off again. Catching herself just before another bad fall. Cursed debris in the way. No matter time to keep going.

Quote: Zebras. So many zebras. Shideezhi would be glad if she never saw another zebra in her whole life! She had one chasing her and when that one tired, another joined in! She was panting hard when she finally escaped it's snorting charge, but due to her fatigue she stumbled and tripped and fell headlong into a few obstacles that caused her to lay on the ground and pant as she tried to catch her breath. She didn't have too much time to do so, though, because a third zebra gave chase. She whined as she ran, hoping this would be the last of the black and white assault. Cŵn Annwn shook himself as he emerged, trying to run at the same time, but that wasn't the best of ideas as he sent himself stumbling into obstacle after obstacle. Finally he ended up on the trail once more and pushed on, hoping he hadn't fallen too far behind. Wandering into the zebras he snapped at them and dodged hoof kicks. A blow from one of them he would not be able to run the race. Being cautious he moved from them and continued on. The ordeal had left him jittery and not paying attention to where he tripped and landed into some water. He took a sip before continuing, feeling somewhat refreshed. Guess not refreshed enough as he nearly stumbled upon debris. At least he had caught himself. Guess both those encounters had given him the motivation to continue stronger and harder because now he was racing forward. Muscles screaming as he pushed himself. Yes! Day 5 [Rolls: 5, 6, 3, 2 Total Points: 54] Bursts of energy as she kicked herself into an overdrive. Her muscles screamed not once but twice to the female's urging. This was fun! The feeling of being on top of the world was what she had. Even after she tripped and landed in the water she laughed. Feeling giddy and happy. Jumping to her paws she let the world fall away and continued on this race. Slowly at first catching up to everyone. Then faster and faster she was starting to go fromt he back to the front of the race. Day 5 [Rolls: 2, 2, 6, 4 Total Points: 63]
