"Just a bunch of reruns," Lily quipped back at Temperance, taking her stub as she followed into the theater. "Nothing I'd ever want to see again." Lily walked slowly down the aisles, eyes up at the intricate details put into the decor of the place. It kept her from looking at the mannequins, the sheer number of them, and from feeling a little too outnumbered for her comfort. That was a silly thing to think, wasn't it? Mannequins couldn't fight. But they weren't supposed to move, either, so it was best to be cautious either way. Her eyes lingered a bit too long on the banisters above them, plotting a trail to the top that would be climbable, even in this form...but after a moment she shook her head, determined to snap out of it. She found a row that had fewer mannequins than most and sat down, keeping an eye on Juniper's placement, just in case things got a little too real. Once she felt relatively settled in, she looked up at the screen, trying to discern what was playing so far.

Still munching away on her popcorn, and taking great care not to drop any, she paused in her search for a chair when she found the roped off area. "What the..." She stepped towards the rope barrier and peered along the row. She glanced back at the mannequins that wer ein the row behind the one with broken seats. Biting her lip she she looked back at the broken seats before deciding on taking a closer look. Carefully she stepped up and over the rope that was blocking off entry into the aisle and she slid across the seats to the ones that were nonexistent."The hell happened here?" She questioned as she wiped her hand off on her jeans and knelt down to pick up a piece of seating fluff while looking around for anything else. She glanced upwards to see if maybe some freak accident happened and something might have fallen like a light or something.

It is still shadowy blobs projected on the screen, almost as if it was a rorschach test. Were Lily to stare at it too long she would start to see things in the shadows there. For a moment, staring at the screen, Lily would hear what sounded like whispers but if she looked around it stopped. The fluff in Juniper's hand started to fall apart the moment she picked it up, as if it's age finally made it simply disintegrate. There was no damage to the ceiling whatsoever but there was a mural of a starry sky. One that held constellations that were far, far older than anyone breathing in the room. They twinkled sometimes as if they were real.

Well, they weren't like the ones outside, but the mannequins here still weren't normal either. Theo stood straight again and swallowed in response to both the disquieting sensation and the glow, then took a step back. Maybe he'd just watch from the aisle.

Rubbing her fingers together where the stuffing disintegrated, Juniper wondered how long ago all of this had happened. It couldn't be new. Not if the stuffing just turned into dusty particles like that. Juniper gasped at the ceiling. It was a stunning mural. It was perfect for the theatre and...wait...did it just...twinkle? How odd. Maybe there were lights up there to make it look like it was twinkling? Either way it was beautiful, even if she couldn't make out any sort of constellations. Maybe there weren't even any painted up there. "Hey, take a look at the ceiling. It's really pretty!" She smiled and called out to Lily when she noticed the other girl not terribly far away.

Temperance shook her head at Lily's quip. Her eyes moved over to the new guy at the sudden outburst and she was surprised to see a familiar face. "Connor! I, uh, I didn't know you could come here." Though, really, Temperance hadn't been here all that often herself. Who knew what the rules of this place were? "Long story short think... of it as a pocket town within our town. It's weird s**t and we all got pulled in. It's not a dream, though." She rocked back on her heels and wished she had pockets to stick her hands in. Instead they plucked at the edge of her lacy shorts. Maybe she wasn't the best for explaining things. She ducked into the theater and gave a cursory glance around. More mannequins, of course. But, if there were a projector, there had to be someone running it... Ignoring the 'movie' for now, Temperance poked around looking for stairs. "Connor, I'm going to try to find the projector room."

The doors that lead back to the front swung closed with a thump as Temperance went looking for the stairs. She would find them on either side, underneath the upper section. They were roped off, a danger sign hanging on the velvet cord, and just past that was debri as if the ceiling had caved in. It was, strangely enough, exactly the same on both sides. Yet the ceiling looked to be in perfect shape. The shadows on the screen continued to shift and change but slowly, along the edges, it looked as if leaves started to take shape. Whatever music had been playing stopped and now it was the sounds of the forest that echoed in the theatre. The mural that was on the ceiling was starting to cloud over. Shun furrowed his brow as he watched the shadows for a little longer, turning back when he heard the doors closing behind. He looked around, trying to spot signs of potential incoming danger. So far there hadn't been anything particularly malicious, but everything about this was still rather unsettling. He didn't trust it. Glancing between the screen and the mural above, he paused and listened to hear some woodland sounds. Was this about Heliodora's foot? While that was all going on, he went to check the various mannequins, to see if they had sustained similar damage to some of the ones outside.

The mannequins, despite holding concession food and cups, were remarkably still. They did not move or gesture, only giving a sense of purpose should Shun linger and stare too long at one. It was when he got to the damaged section of chairs that he would find something. The back of one was slashed deeply, something thick and ichorous in the 'wounds' but not spreading. Clothing was torn on another and yet more with small signs of injury not unlike those up front. The most disconcerting was the one who's head was bent at a wrong angle, as if something great and powerful had hit it and broken it's neck.

This was a bit disconcerting. Something had certainly come ravaging through the theater at some point. Though he couldn't say for certain why the mannequins would be attacked of all things. Of course, if the cause was just going completely batshit, that might be reason enough. Shun tilted his head as he examined the one with a broken neck. Whatever had caused this damage had claws. And was rather strong. If this had been Ashdown, he might have thought it was a moonwalker. But from what he knew based on what Lucas had told him, they were actual animals in this realm. That, and the madness seemed like it was only a thing if they shifted in regular Ashdown. He was also reminded that Jeremiah was fairly certain that something had managed to rip Michael from this realm to theirs. Was it possible that they could make them go rabid here as well? He couldn't dismiss the possibility. The detective moved over to the mannequin that had its back slashed deeply. Cautiously, he reached to try and touch the ichor within the wounds, to examine the substance. It wasn't spreading, so it was possible that whatever it was had dried. If it were still wet... then there was a very distinct chance that whatever had done this was still lurking somewhere nearby.

Shun's finger tips would find that the ichor was dry except for the rare place where it was tacky. It would stick to his fingers and nothing would be able to clean if off. As his hand is pulled away it feels as if something is breathing heavily behind him. The breath is hot and fetid but fades. There is nothing behind him. B1ade Kuroda the ichor on shun's fingers that stains them cannot be removed until the event is over and he is back in ashdown.

A deadpan look was given to each person who answered his question, because that's all their ridiculous explanations deserved. Alternate reality? Called here to see something? Brought here? A ******** pocket universe inside the city he lived in? " Christ" He muttered, running a hand through long, sandy hair before rubbing at his face. "Well ********. And what do you mean didn't know you could come here, sweetheart? This some kind of exclusive club member deal?" He half mocked, while following the others into the theater proper once it was opened. Temperance was given a nod, but he left her to it, as he walked down the aisle, glancing at the screen before shaking his head and looking away. Eventually, he came to find an empty seat, plunked his a** down in it, lifted his feet up to put on the back of the seat in front of him, and kicked the mannequin seated there in the back of the head."Okay, I'm ready for whatever the ******** it is I'm here to be shown." He sassed, crossing arms over his chest. anyone else in hearing distance

Just ink blobs, whorls on the verge of recognition, and a voice, just barely under comprehension, though Lily leaned forward, as if she might just be able to pick it out... And then a voice called out, and it snapped her back to reality, blinking as she turned to look at Juniper. "Oh...yeah, it's pretty sweet," she replied flatly, looking back up to the painted starry sky above them. What was an expression of mild wonder twisted to a frown as clouds began to overtake the sky, and she pressed a finger against her lips, as if unsure of what to say. "Hey..." she addressed the general assembly, slowly pointing to the ceiling. "You think that's a bad sign, or is that just me?" She'd come inside for the express purpose of not getting rained on, but it looked like the building had other plans.

Mostly dry. As he pulled his hand back to get a better look at the ichor, he felt something breathing down his neck. Shun quickly spun around, ready to defend himself. A hand had just been reaching for a weapon of sorts, but he paused as there was nothing there.
He remained still, tense as his eyes darted around to try and find whatever had been behind him moments ago.
"Something else is here," he muttered under his breath. Something aside from these mannequins that sometimes moved on their own. He went ahead and palmed a pocket knife as the feeling of danger skyrocketed for him. He also took inventory of anything in the area that was small but effective enough that he could possibly fling if need be.
It took him some time before he marginally relaxed, finally glancing down at his fingertips. After awhile, he tried to wipe them off onto the seats. It didn't come off. The detective furrowed his brow and tried again, but it seemed his hands were stained for now.

It happens instantly. Even before his foot pulls back. There are hands around his face, covering Connor's eyes and another hand with fingers around the offending foot. There are two mannequins there, in business suits, and the rest of the mannequins - aside from the one that was kicked - are all now standing at their seats and facing him. A hissing sound fills the air, disapproval blatantly obvious. Some of the mannequins are holding a hand up, a single finger swaying back and forth as if to say tsk, tsk.Connor feels something pushing in on him where he is held; the hands over his eyes and the hand around his ankle. Darkness slides over his vision and there is a very pointed hard squeeze to his head. A warning. The hands slide away but the darkness remains. Where Connors eyes should be there is nothing but smooth skin and, as his foot falls from being suddenly let go, it clunks to the floor with an odd sound. It too, apparently, has been changed. The mannequins all sit again, one by one, but the two in business suits. Those two stand on either side of the screen now watching. There is now a forest on the screen. Quote: next post will be @ 2300 EST please quote whaler if you're wanting to do something specific! 5eussi CONSEQUENCES: for the remainder of the event, connor cannot see. his foot is also now that of a mannequin, though it is usuable and acts as a mostly normal foot. this effect will pass once he is back in ashdown.
