Mercy had to agree with the distracted man, this was wayyy better than KFC. "Well to be honest, Im more of a Poppeyes or Churches Chicken type of girl." She looked to the dreaded blonde that sat at the table, laughing at the comment he made about the food. "Everyone is interesting at some point." She smirked and winked at him and the blonde before continuing, "Its usually the ones that say there is nothing interesting that have the best stories to tell~"
That question though was interesting though..." If I had to travel back in time, I would probably travel to the 80's. Despite the awful fashion, some of the best movie series ever were started in that decade. Hellraiser and Terminator are some of my favorites. Why dinosaurs though? Wouldn't you be afraid of getting eaten? Its a beach ball that acts like a magic eight ball. Can I give it a shot?"
"And what are your names? Mine is Mercy and apparently Im an Ares child."

Table 8
"That's easy," Ewan said. "Cop drama. It'd be a behind-the-scenes sorta thing. There'd be a traitor in the midst. Lots of intrigue." He'd been internal affairs -- he'd rooted that sort of stuff out on a daily basis. "That stuff happens all the time. I caught people doing things in the bathrooms you wouldn't believe."

table 2
"Other people running around with this?" She patted her hair with a little smile. It wasn't a rhetorical question really: she'd already seen quite a variety of styles and colors in her short time there, natural and otherwise. "I'm okay. Curious about what's after orientation. Wondering if I have a roommate."
A pause. "Missing home." She went back to her food mildly.
Only to perk up shortly afterwards as a woman joined them. And speaking of hair colors... Stormy was entranced for a moment, her eyes shifting between different locks of hair to try and catch the different hues.
"Mm," she replied very sagely, forgetting to repeat pleasantries back as she gazed.

Table 8
"Which side of the story would you be on?" Asher raised his eyebrows, chin settling onto his hand and elbow on the table -- and his eyes were bright. Needling, just a little, because Asher simply couldn't help it. He must have been able to tell on which side of the law Ewan stood.
Dahl angled a slender finger at Edward. "You're supposed to answer as well, you know. In fact, first." It didn't really matter, but he liked a set order to things. It tidied. But he turned his attention towards Asher and Ewan. He'd seen that sort of look before - not on Asher, but on other's faces. He was a provoker.
So he deliberately mimicked Asher's pose, gazing at Ewan. "Yes, tell. What were you before this? Cop, detective, playwright, unlucky janitor?" He glanced around at the other men, large eyes almost playful. "Why don't all of you tell, too?"

Ed had returned to eating, attention split between his chicken and Ewen, but stopped as Dahl leveled a finger at him. "Oh, was I?" Whoops. It could have been that he actually didn't know, or he could have been trying to avoid the answering. Either way, it was moot now.
"Musical drama." He didn't even have to think about it. "Worked as a bouncer at a strip club most nights, and when I wasn't throwing out assholes there, I was into bare knuckle boxing." Summer's next big block buster. "Weren't bad gigs. Paid well."

"I'm curious too," was all Mal said, but he smiled at Ewan; not needling, because he could guess what side of the law Ewan would come down on, of course. "Are you our plucky but misunderstood hero, or our lovable rogue?"
And before he had to be asked about his own, he shrugged. "A bollywood rom-com, the kind of thing where you don't need to know the story to know what's going on, where it looks a bit like musical bed partners but everyone ends up happy, even if they end up alone."

Table 4
"Before? Like two weeks ago before?" He chuckled. This guy made it sound like they'd been here so long they'd forgotten their lives. Zan didn't really want to discuss all the things he'd done, so he settled for, "I performed. How about you?"
If he'd had to guess, he would have said the girl was a puppy breeder and these two were independently wealthy yachtsmen-slash-day-drinkers, but he doubted either guess was true. While he was good at picking up on people's emotions and gathering information via eavesdropping, cold reading for jobs, spouses, kids and the like was beyond him. It was why he had never tried reading fortunes.

Table 3
Rob swallowed his mouthful of food before answering. Didn't want to be rude, after all. "Rob. Dionysus Chosen." Shoving more chicken in his mouth, he studied his tablemates for a moment. The tall bloke seemed rather quiet and reserved; maybe he was just expressing the nerves they all must have been feeling. Mercy, though, came across as just the opposite. Cute bird, confident, a bit flirty. He swallowed and flashed her a grin. He was going to have fun here.
Then he pondered the question from the beach ball. "Travel back in time then, eh? I reckon I'd go back to the Middle Ages, like, and hang about with Robin Hood and his merry bunch of blokes. I was named after him, you know. Robin's me full name." The British punk laughed, leaning back in his chair and gesturing with his hands as he spoke. "Prancin' about in tights with a sword, takin' out the Sherriff's men and robbin' the rich and all that. Sounds like a lark to me."
Seeing the wine, he reached for the bottle and poured himself a glass, then took a sniff and a sip. "Oooh, good stuff." He wondered offhand if Dionysus himself had any hand in the making of the wine. "Can I pour some for either of you?"

Table 2 Beth honestly never meant to be late in her life. Though her parents espoused that being fashionably late was better than being awkwardly early, arriving any time after the agreed upon start made her gut vibrate with anxiety.
But the long walk along the entirety of the Prytaneum had surprisingly done her in. (Or not so surprising for someone as delicate as Beth. Or wearing her stilettos.) She'd had to break out her floppy hat to protect her skin, she'd spent most of the time scribbling down what Max, their guide, had said about rules, regulations, and trivia, and she'd swallowed any protests about cracks threatening to snap her heels as their tour continued.
And of course that long walk meant that she had wanted to nap first thing when she returned to her dorm. Upon rising and seeing that more than two hours had passed, she kicked herself into overdrive to make herself presentable for dinner. But that meant a shower, and then choosing what to wear, and then styling her hair and then putting makeup back on. By the time she found herself click-clacking into the dining hall, dinner (and conversations) were well and truly rolling.
Beth paused, surveying the room, wondering if she wasn't a tad bit overdressed. She gently laid a hand on the badge pinned to her chest, straightened her shoulders, and strode purposefully to a table with three people--two women with breathtakingly beautiful hair and a lone man whose muscles alone might power a city block.
"Excuse me," she said, flashing them all a wide smile. "I hope this seat isn't taken." She slid onto the cushion, careful to leave at least one person's worth of space between her and her nearest table mate. No need to intrude, after all. She began piling potatoes onto her plate before spooning soup onto them. As she moved, her eyes caught on the beach ball. "Ah! Excellent! Party games!" She looked between the other three, as much to gauge their reaction as to invite them to react. "Have we decided who starts?"

Ewan looked up from where he'd been happily spooning huge amounts of mixed vegetables [sauteed in butter and garlic, as far as he could tell, they were delicious -- and just about anything beat snack food dinners fresh from the machine]. "I was internal affairs in a major facility," he said. "Not quite a cop. I rooted out, um ... to make it sound super cop movie, I rooted out corruption in the prison system."
He grinned. "I guess I'd be the detective who knows too much."

Table 8
Asher hummed, leaning back just a little bit -- eyes flicking around the table like he couldn't decide to poke fun at first. Of course, he still hadn't answered the question himself, and so his focus finally settled on Ewan. Elbows on the table he leaned in just a little, fork still dangling from one hand in an idle sort of way.
"Well, maybe we'd end up in the same movie, then." It came with a bright flash of teeth as he leaned back again, thinking it over. "I don't think I'd be the main character in any movie, though. I'm the friend in the romcom or slacker comedy who everyone wishes was the main character, because he doesn't whine or overreact to everything."
And with that, he stabbed another mouthful of food.
Rasmus smiled and wondered if the conversation was moving towards more comfortable waters or sex was really on the agenda for all. They were all in the primes of their life with virile, strong bodies. Scientists, artists and alchemists all sought to capture and reproduce pheromones at one point or another if they weren't chasing the golden idol.
Catching the scent of sunmarked hay, he turned his attention to the newcomer. "Cas, you've been so quiet. A quick tumble is good for the soul. What brought you all to the attention of your deity? You don't have to answer if you don't want to."
He kept a watchful, friendly gaze on the two dames, keen to their plotting.

Sorry for the delay and holding up of the ORP! I'm halfway between here and there most days and with my training and post-training vacay coming to an end, I'll be hitting the ground running but am looking forward to RP for sanity.

Table 2
Lincoln's eyes flickered to Stormy's hair, the corners of his lips twitching slightly as though he was hiding a smile. "No," he admitted and leaned back in his chair, hands resting on the table. "Your hair is relatively unique; and besides, I've known you long enough by now, I should be able to recognize you well enough."
Even if he'd tried to believe it wasn't her, if only because it made him think of Lissa.
"I haven't seen my roommate either, if I have one," Lincoln said. He couldn't exactly return the sentiment of missing home, but he did miss his sister, at the very least.
He opened his mouth to say something, but someone else had slid into a seat at their table as well, and Lincoln's gaze went to her instead, his eyes sweeping across her face.
He gave a little nod in greeting.
"Lincoln," he said, and then, with a slightly amused tone of voice, "And that's Stormy. We were just talking of roommates and home."
A woman had slipped to the table while they'd made their introductions, and Lincoln tilted his head at her as a hello, nodding genially, though he maintained his usual less-than-talkative habits, preferring, as he always did, to observe first. It had been part of his job, after all: observe, then take action.
"No one is sitting there," Lincoln said, by way of greeting, since she'd asked. "And I don't believe any of us have started yet, if you wanted to."

Table 5
"Good for more than just the soul, I'd argue," Cas answered with a quirk of his brow. All kinds of tumbles.
"I grew up on horse and cattle ranches," he said in response to Rasmus' question. "And I was a Marine for quite a long time. Horses and the ocean... I guess I'm right up Poseidon's alley. As for what I've done to deserve attention, I can't be sure."
Maybe Poseidon just wanted someone who'd look at an impending fight and feel, oddly enough, almost at home. Cas had been fighting all his life - his not his father, then the other ranch hands or kids in college or an all-out war.
