Turn 11

Acel's Attack x2: 77 - 70 = 7 (100 - 7 = 93% Defense Chance) (-13% From Acel + Guard's T.A = 80% Chance) (-30% From Stamina = 50% Chance)
Failed!

The Royal Guard watched as Acel managed to balance on his one good leg, leaning into the strike that the exhausted, wounded, Guard had managed to throw at him. The sword clashed against the weaponized arm of the Guard, and Acel managed to completely halt the blow. The dripping, ooze-like orb that was left behind by the Quazzar began to break apart and drift through the air, slowly, without direction, as if it were being drawn by a lackadaisical desire, and not actually being pulled with conviction. The code began to filter into three different directions, eventually, each one of the strands going into the code cores of the individual baiters, as they absorbed portions of the defeated enemy's power. They were falling--and the Royal Guard was starting to fail himself too. He was slowing beyond the ability to avoid the strikes that the man was throwing at him. This might very well be the last moments of its life. As Acel dashed forward, slashing down with the sword, the Royal Guard hopped backwards out of instinct, afraid of the man's reach with the deadly long katanas. The sword clashed against the metal grates, and cut through the wire, opening the hatch to the long fall, but the Royal Guard had already hopped away from the hatch, and avoided the opening door by sheer luck. However, as it wobbled on its feet, the Royal Guard knew that it was not going to be able to avoid the next strike. Its body was barely responding at all. As Acel hopped forward toward the Guard, it tried to lift its arms to defend against the sideways strike that Acel was throwing at it.

However, as the arms slowly came up to guard against the savage swing, only the previously injured arm made it in time, and the sword snagged slightly as it passed through the Guard's arm, cleaving it from its elbow and issuing a loud clang as it dropped to the floor. Then, the sword ripped through the wounded midsection of the Guard, separating it in half and sending the upper torso collapsing to the ground. The Guard blinked as it felt the sword going through it, and it felt its vision spiral as it was dropping to the ground. When it hit, it was already losing sight, its body disintegrating down into its code, spiralling through the air and collecting once more into the ball of luminescent numbers and symbols, collecting so densely that it barely looked like individual characters at this point, and became more of a swirling mass of bright blue colour. The consciousness of the Guard remained, humming within the mass of content, though it waned, faltering as it tried its hardest to hold itself together and keep itself alive after the long battle.

The wound on the Worker's back twitched...burned, chafed, scratched, so badly that it could barely contain its growing rage. The wound itself was light--barely even anything to worry about, really, but the fact that it had watched these people constantly get in the way of what the Worker was trying to do...well, it pissed it off something fierce. These people were absolutely making a mockery of him, and there was nothing that he could do about it. He had thrashed one of their friends--absolutely destroying the man's body--but yet he stood. He had instantly dispatched of the helper that they had sent along, but it meant nothing while there were perfectly healthy enemies in front of him. The baiters refused to fall. They refused to yield. And for the first time, the Worker actually realized why this annihilation had taken so long. These people...they were so much stronger than he had ever expected. In strength, the Worker knew he outmatched them...but it did not matter. When they joined forces together, protected one another, and fought as a team...they could easily best a stronger opponent. This was a problem. He watched as the Royal Guard was dispatched--attempting to block the man, but his fury finally overpowered the tired enemy and the Royal Guard fell to the floor in separate pieces, being totally cleaved in two by the man's vicious attacks.

The Worker felt beads of sweat dripping down his face, and he knew that he was about done for. He didn't know how...but he knew. He would take the man out of this fight, for sure, but he felt as though even if he killed Acel, the other two would be able to dispatch him before he could do anything else. It was then that the woman rushed him, and his eyes faltered for a moment as his mind tried to hit back into what was going on. He was in a fight for christ sakes, what was he sitting about thinking for!? She held the scythe firm and then unleashed the deadly strike--swinging it horizontally toward him, and he found himself paralysed with the fear of his own demise. He truly was going to cease to exist. This was the end for him. He narrowed his eyes at the girl, and as the information blasted through his head, he recognized who she was. He knew her. He had seen her on T.V before. Well, on the old streams of her that floated around in the internet. The Worker smirked as he got a vicious idea and he nodded toward Sarah as she attacked, grinning as she attacked him. He allowed it. He let the scythe pierce into his side, and he grabbed the shaft of the weapon to stop it from going to deep as his hand lashed out, a small needle popping from the man's hand as he jabbed her arm with it. It would do almost nothing in the way of damage--but it would make her bleed, just the tiniest bit, and as soon as the needle had been there, it was gone, back inside the man's closed hand. But, the moment of planning and execution would cost him, as Akio had moved behind him, and the sword was like the lightning that coated it as it was swung at his back once more. The first wound that he had received opened up into several more, and the man growled out in anger as the enemy cut into him twice more. The slashes felt different--as the Worker could feel the electricity surge through his body, zapping his systems and making him slow down. He knew that these strikes were made close to his spine so that it would destroy his motor functions quickly. The Worker had to end ******** YOU GUYS! You think you've won this? You think that you're going to march home and have a victory parade when you're done with me. You'll never find me again, down here, and if you ever try, you will be too god damn late. But you...I am not leaving until you hit this god damn floor, dead." The Worker bellowed, looking directly at Acel. The man had pushed him over the edge of madness, and the Worker streaked toward him, cocking back his fist and unleashing a brutal punch towards Acel's only good knee, hoping to disable the man completely. The second strike would come automatically afterward, hitting at the same time, as all of his other strikes had been doing. The second blow was a hook punch, aimed at the man's cheek in hopes of knocking him out like an old style boxer and seeing the man topple dead to the floor below.

Sarah:
Turn 10

۩…………………………………………………………………۩

If Sarah had thought that the bug core was creepy looking, it was nothing compared to how creepy the worker looked as he smiled at her when she attacked. He just stood there with that grin. He had to be crazier than they had originally thought. Teaming up with A.I.s was one thing, but just taking a full hit with a smile was a total different level. She almost wanted to ask the guys what to do with someone like that. The sickness waved over her as her scythe entered the man's side, but the man kept it from going to far inside him, which was better in her opinion.

Before she could do anything, he snapped his hand forward, a sting came from action when it came close. He didn't hit her, not really. He was doing something else. If she didn't know any better, it felt like a needle had went into her arm. She paled at the thought, wondering if he had just poisoned her. She pulled herself away as Akio's slashes hit the worker, quickly looking down at her arm. She saw a bead of blood from where the sting was, realizing that it had been a needle. Dear God he did poison her. It wasn't poison, I'm not sensing any inside you. I don't know what he did, but it was poisoning.

Sarah felt her heart slow down when hearing the Guard tell her that it wasn't poison that was in the needle. But why did he have a needle if it wasn't to insert something in someone. That didn't make any sense. Though the Worker didn't seem all that worried that he didn't put poison in her, he was more focused on getting Acel down on the ground, dead. She glanced toward Acel seeing that he had finally taken the Guard down. That meant only the worker was left. They could win this. See if tough guy is going to absorb that Guard or not. She gave a puzzled look at the request but before she could ask, she saw the worker lunge for Acel.

Sarah charged in front of Acel, angling her scythe so it blocked both attacks with little movement. She glared at the Worker, taking in deep breathes. She wasn't going to say anything, since it should be obvious that he wasn't going to land a hit on Acel until he got rid of her, he was able to. She had surprised herself that she actually blocked the worker's attacks. It was amazing that her Guard could do it, and it seemed surprising that even she could do it. Maybe it was because of Akio. She glanced behind her toward Acel to make sure she hadn't bumped into him when she got between him and the worker. “Guard..... want.... wants to know.... if... if you're... you're goin.....going to absorb the.... the other Guard.” She said slowly, keeping an eye on the worker.

Turn 11

Acel had seen exactly what the Worker had done--the needle that it had plunged into Sarah's arm. With the ability to analyse all the information in a moment, he could see the man's actions clearly, though he could not feign any sort of understanding as to WHY the man was doing what he was doing. Why would he want to p***k her with a damn needle when he could have done something so much more...damaging? He shook the feeling off as he processed everything that had been going on. The Royal Guard had attempted with everything it had to block the strikes that Acel had sent toward it, but the A.I. first had its arms cut through, and then the torso was severed mercilessly, leaving the Guard in shambles. As it deteriorated into code, Acel left it be, knowing that Sarah had an A.I. of a similar type, and she might want to take it for her own. He could have absorbed the code and destroyed it out of spite...sure...but he couldn't bring himself to do it. His muscles--his mind--his every fragment of being screamed for him to do it, but the whisper in the back of his head that told him to care for his comrades--the voice that was trying to break through the screaming of the despair. He ground his teeth together as he straightened up. This Worker was trying very hard to kill him--of this Acel was sure, but the man was being reckless, just throwing himself at Acel constantly. This time, when he came at him, the man was met by Sarah herself. He knew when she intercepted his attacks, that he had made the right choice in leaving the A.I. for her.

She brought up her Scythe and blocked both of the man's attacks simultaneously, and he had to admit, he was impressed. His once fiery eyes had cooled into their old, dull, grey tone, and he smirked slightly as he looked at her back, standing there and protecting him like some sort of motherly figure. "Thanks for....protecting me...even when....I didn't deserve it." Acel said, a smile leaking from his features, though he could barely even summon the strength to twist his face into an expression. Sweat poured from his body as it struggled to keep itself in one piece after the brutal damage he had sustained--but he still stood there. He coughed, blood spattering the ground in front of him as he looked at Sarah. "Let's get this over with so we can get you to a hospital. They can get any toxins out that the Worker might have tried to infect you with, there." Acel slowly managed to speak. His skin was repaired, the burned off sections growing back as the heat subsided in his body. The black hair remained as the angel still lingered on the surface--though the exhaustion didn't allow it the strength to fight for control against Midas and Acel any longer. "Well, I'll be damned. It looks like you're slipping back from the dark side, huh? Welcome back, you d**k." Midas growled, and Acel chuckled as he listened to the A.I. chastise him. Acel nodded slowly. "Well. Someone's...gotta put an end...to this." Acel grumbled as he locked eyes with the Worker. The b*****d had to go down. He had to. Acel blasted forward, pushing off of his only good leg and hopping over the battlefield until he was directly in front of the Worker, swinging his sword up toward him in a savage attack toward the b*****d's neck.

                                        Turn 11

Akio took a quick step back, letting his right foot fall back to steady himself. Both attacks had landed, hurting the worker just enough to piss him off… Another smirk spread across his face, amused that things were still going so well. It seemed to be for the best that Sarah and Akio attack at the same time, forcing the Worker to be unable to dodge one of their many attacks. With luck, things were going to keep up like they were, and they could take down this damned worker like it was nothing. And, as luck would have it, Acel had killed off the Guard finally, and the Worker was the final enemy left. The smirk slowly turned into a grin, feeling a speck of pride for the people he called his teammates.

The code bobbed, like the previous two AI’s, this one very different from both the Quazzar and the E-Trooper. This was blue and densely packed, but he ignored the floating ball of code, opting to focus on Sarah and Acel. These people were a little more impressive than he had originally anticipated. Sarah managed to hold her own, and on top of this, manage to dodge pretty much all of the Workers attacks in order to protect Acel. Better yet, she was the reason why Acel was still alive… And seemingly back to normal. That made him happy, seeing the person who was probably going to end up a good friend look okay, it made him feel good.

The Workers speech was admittedly hilarious, thinking that he had the ability to take out Acel while Sarah was on the watch. He didn’t laugh, but he lowered himself into a stance that would allow faster movement in his attacks, knowing full well that the Worker wasn’t going to attack him anytime soon. But he did need to say something to Ducky, at least something to make up for him being a douche, as he recognized he was. “You’re not undeserving of protection, Ducky. Never were.” He gave a slight pause, focusing on the Worker as the man reset to attack again. “Now let’s get this over with.”

With that, he saw Acel shoot forward, Akio doing the very same. ‘The worker is in check, we only need to get rid of him, and the game is ours.’ It was a simple, idle thought, but he was right. The strategy had changed slightly. The team had the upperhand, all three still up while the Worker was the only out of four left. If Akio and Acel continued to attack the Worker, doing as much damage as possible, while Sarah supported by blocking the workers attacks… They could easily do this. So, Akio swung his sword, and while Acel went for the neck, he went for the stomach. Both were fairly vital, though he knew that he wasn’t going to do nearly enough damage to the man… That didn’t matter, though. Every little bit counted.

In the next breath, Akio drew his sword back and placed both hands on the hilt, bringing it down with a fair amount of force onto the Worker's shoulder. The last piece on the enemy board, the last bit of work to do… And Acel was right. They needed to make sure that Sarah was okay after that needle. It was best to get her to the hospital sooner, rather than later. And so, the battle moved forward as they worked on their last enemy…

Akio's Attack x2: 50 - 60 = 1 (100 - 1 = 99% Defense Chance) (-30% From Stamina = 69% Defense Chance)

The Worker eyed Acel very carefully as he approached the man, relishing in the moments as he approached, waiting for the impact in which he would shatter the man into pieces, but as his fist launched out and simultaneously fired the second strike, the woman stood in his way, placing herself between him and his opponent, and his fists landed square on her scythe's shaft, smashing into it with incredible force, but not passing through. The woman was a tank, even though she looked like she was little more than a child. If he did not distract her somehow than he would never make it to the man she was protecting. But then it struck him--he didn't need to worry about it. He didn't need to worry about her getting in his way at all--he was just being too greedy. He was trying to hit Acel with everything he had, and he just needed to calm himself down for a second and think--he had the ability to do this, and to finish it here and now. And, as he thought about it, the Worker got excited--this meant he would get to kill the man after all. One hit was all he needed anyways. Acel was almost dead. Hell, the worker didn't even know how the hell he was still standing--it was quite miraculous. But he had no time to actually think about anything anymore, as the cripple launched himself into a hopping assault. It was quite laughable to see someone jumping around on one leg, but the man would refrain from laughing in his face as he ran toward him. He prepared himself, and as Acel hopped forward he watched for how far he could move with one hop, and he timed how many hops it would take--three more.

However, Acel surprised him, throwing more power into the last two hops to add distance, and the Worker was caught off guard. The strike came fast--way faster than the worker thought Acel would be able to manage. The sword blasted upwards in a diagonal slash toward his neck, and the Worker pulled back, but not enough. The blade tore through the side of the Worker's neck, carving through the muscle and flesh, and the tip of the blade glanced past the jugular vein without breaking the arterial wall. The blood came out--and a lot of it, pouring down the side of the man's neck, but the vein was still in tact and he was safe from actually bleeding out within the next couple of minutes. However, the pain and shock of being cut across his neck was enough to throw the Worker into a frenzy. As Akio's blade came in toward his stomach, the Worker's hands both shot out and slapped down on either side of the sword with such force that he actually caught the blade--something very few people could do. As Akio pulled the sword back, he let go, avoiding any damage to his hands and then the second attack that came down toward his shoulder, the Worker just threw himself forward into Akio to knock him backwards and halt the attack before he could take any more damage. The neck wound continued to bleed, pouring down his neck, and the Worker's crazed eyes locked back onto Acel immediately.

"You sorry...sack of s**t. We had more people...we had stronger people...and yet here you three are. We made sure to focus you out, blondie. We made sure to throw everything at you. Hell, we destroyed your body, but you just. Won't. Die! WHY!?!?! Well, your luck is at an end. This...is your final moment. The blood you drew on me will come back to you ten times more." The man snapped, grinning wildly as he blasted forward toward Acel. The Worker made sure that he prepared his strike perfectly as he dashed in, whipping around to the side and slamming his hand--fingers outstretched like a knife--toward Acel's ribs, hoping to pierce through the man's side with the hand like a blade, and break through his ribs and into his lung. Simultaneously, however, he vanished and was standing beside Sarah, his fist flying forward toward the center of her forehead. He would not let the woman get involved--he would force her to defend herself against him, and be unable to go to Acel's aid. The man was as good as dead, and she was helpless to stop it. Finally. Finally this battle would turn in his favour.

Sarah blinked in surprise when Acel actually thanked her for protecting him. He looked like he was returning back to his normal self. A wave a relief washed over her, glad to see that Acel was finally coming back. She shook her head when he said they would take her to the hospital after the fight. “I'm fine, he didn't put toxins in me. The Guard could sense it, though he isn't sure what the needle was for.” She explained. There was no need for her to go to the hospital when nothing was wrong with her. She didn't have a scratch on her, unlike Acel who was holding onto the last bit of his strength it seemed.

Sarah looked at Akio as he spoke up, smiling a bit when he said that Acel wasn't unworthy of being protected. She nodded in agreement, before readying herself to attack the worker. The worker began to rant again, saying that Acel was going to go down from his luck running out. The boys threw their attacks at the worker but before she could bring herself to attack as well, the worker had jumped into his own. Sarah watched, amazed at the speed as he went after Acel first, she couldn't get to him in time though before she could blink, the worker was beside her. She gasped in surprise, quickly leaning back, the worker's fist moving past her face instead of hitting it. She let out the breath she had held, looking at the fist before swinging her scythe toward him, bringing up it up from below, aiming at his arm that had tried to hit her. She couldn't look at Acel, but if the worker had actually gotten a hit on him because of his punch, she was going to be so angry.

Turn 12
Worker's Attack: 66 - 61 = 5 (100 - 5 = 95% Defense Chance) (-30% From Stamina = 65% Defense Chance) (+8% From TA = 73% Defense Chance)
Failed!

When Acel ran in, hopping on his one good leg in an attempt to close the gap with the Worker, he put all of his might into the last two jumps, hoping to throw the man off--and somehow it had worked. The slice had come faster than the Worker had anticipated, and the blade carved right through his neck, causing blood to start pouring down the side of the man's neck. No spray meant that the artery had not been hit, and the man was going to live to walk away from that attack. Damnit. He had hoped he could end it with the strike, but the man was even more durable than Acel had expected--and quick. The strike was so close to hitting the man's artery that Acel could almost feel the damn vein against his sword as it passed by it. As soon as the attack had missed, Akio began his own assault, but the Worker was ready for it and managed to skillfully avoid both of the attacks. This was going to be a problem. Acel knew that the Worker wanted him dead--desperately. He wanted to see some sort of reward for his hard work--and without killing one of them, he likely felt like he had completely failed the mission. It didn't take the Worker long as he launched himself forward, closing the gap between him and the injured Acel.

Acel coming out of his possessed state was likely the cause of him dying. It was too draining for him while he had been taken over by the angel--his entire mind was switching personalities and information at will, and it was so mentally exhausting, that when Acel began to retake control, he was already to mentally fatigued to function properly. His short black hair seemed to fall like ashes, and the falling ash became blonde hair that flowed from his head, until it was back to the same length that it had been before the transformation had taken place. In this moment, blood dripped from his lips and he coughed, blood shooting across the ground in front of him as he looked down to see the worker's hand lodged in his side--buried in his body all the way up to his wrist. Acel looked confused at the man as he stood there, wobbling on his feet before he clapped his hand down on the Worker's shoulder for a split instant, before he disappeared. He was going to say something witty to the b*****d at the end of it, but as the Worker vanished, his hand, that had been on his shoulder slipped forward without support and Acel faceplanted on the ground. He tried to speak--to say something to encourage his comrades, but blood was filling his lung and gargling noises were all that came from his broken body as he tried to thank them. "He hopes that he did enough...that you guys can win this without either of you losing your lives...said...he already went through death--no sense in you doing the same thing. Good luck."

Acel's body slowly began to break down as the beacon from the B.A.I.T.R. Headquarters was activated. It locked on to the code core in his heart, and as he was broken down into millions of pieces, the glowing code his body was comprised of shooting through the tunnels and access passages until reaching the surface--blasting through the hatch and up into the skies until it was back in the city of Gondora--all in the blink of an eye. Acel could only hope that when his body reformed and he saw his friends again--they were okay, and he had successfully been their shield to stop them from experiencing death.

                                        Turn 12

Acel’s attack did a fantastic amount of damage, but it wasn’t nearly enough to kill him. Blood splattered down the worker’s neck, leaving a plethora of small steady streams of crimson to stain his shirt. It wasn’t a beautiful sight, but gruesomely satisfying. To see the man’s health drop, even by a little bit, it was like finally getting close to the destination of a road trip, seeing it in the distance. So close, he could taste it. But Akio’s sword was blocked, not allowing any more hits to be landed on the damned worker, who shoved him back like he was of little importance to anything. This worker…. He was something else. Akio gritted his teeth even just listening to the asshat speak. It was infuriating and downright insulting to think that anyone would speak like that to another human being. Akio had already questioned the man’s sanity, but now… He wasn’t sure that the man before him was human anymore. The worker was nothing but a chess piece, a pawn in the grander scheme of things, and yet he managed to do so much damage. So much harm to the team than Akio could come to terms with.

Unfortunately, though, the words the Worker spoke were very true, and soon after Akio caught his footing Acel met a fate Akio didn’t know he wasn’t quite ready for. He didn’t notice that the Worker also attacked Sarah, eyes trained on Acel falling and spitting blood. His mind stopped working for a moment, everything in him shutting down before he could catch it. It happened all over again. A death because of him, his fault, unable to successfully land hits in time to kill him before Ducky, his friend Ducky, died. He didn’t stop to protect him, help, or sacrifice anything to make sure that his friend would be okay. His fault. Again.

‘No. No, no, no.’ A voice spoke to him, as Akio let out a shaky breath.’Stay focused, grieve later. Kill him so that Acel’s death wasn’t in vain.’ The E-Trooper spoke the truth, but Akio’s eyes still focused on the particles of his friends body float away, back to the headquarters to be placed back together in a tank. His fault… ‘Akio. Pawn to E-4, possible check. One piece down doesn’t mean you lose the game.’

Akio knew the damned program was right, gripping the hilt of his katana in a trembling hand. He didn’t want to see another die, let alone because of a mistake he made. Sarah was still alive, that was for damned sure. All he had to do was make sure it stayed that way. ‘Breath. Take three deep breaths, then attack. Have your panic attack later, there are things you have to do.’ God damn it… Clenching his jaw, Akio forced himself to focus, tearing his eyes from where his fallen friend now used to be. As requested, Akio took a deep breath, assessing the situation for a quick moment. ‘Sarah is still alive, only injured so far by her summoning the Guard…’ he let his breath out slowly, eyes flicking from Sarah back to the worker. With a second slow intake of breath, his hands were already steadier and his mind a little clearer. It was enough to focus on an attack, but something that worried him was that he could feel the pain reliever wearing off. No doubt his headache would be coming back soon, more than likely worse off than during his first fight with Fae… This was a bad idea. The morning was going to be rough for him, he knew that. But he still had to focus on the now, the battle ahead of him. ‘I remain uninjured, while this guy is covered in his own blood. It’ll take a few more hits to bring him down, but we might be able to get a few of those in quickly.

Akio let out the second breath, gripping the sword and turning the blade to face up. Right, they still had the advantage. Acel was down, but the two of them were still up and fairly healthy in comparison. With the third breath in, he lunged forward in an attack, calculating how much speed he would need to take the worker down. Flashes of lightning followed him in small trails as he shot forward, swinging his lighting sheathed katana with both hands at the man’s neck, aiming for the spot close to where Acel had hit.

There was little to no time between the end of his first attack and the start of his next. Lightning flashed, Akio’s fury and fear mingling into his attacks, affecting the power of his attacks. While he knew he was placing too much emotion into his attacks, Akio didn’t care. If that allowed him to hit harder, so be it. That is what needs to happen if they were to make it out alive.

Akio aimed his sword to the other shoulder, placing his bodyweight into the attack. They had to win this battle. Otherwise, Akio wouldn’t be able to live with himself. If Sarah also died while on his watch…. No. He couldn’t think about that just yet. They had to make it through the battle, and win. They had to…

The Worker grinned from ear to ear when his fingers contacted the man's side. As they blasted through his tissue and the fingertips stabbed into the man's lung with ease. Finally--he had won. The hand pulled out and he was already else-where--no time to enjoy his little victory. But as he swung his second attack toward Sarah, the woman was able to avoid the strike easily. Killing the blonde man had given the Worker some form of confidence and mental stability. He was not so frayed now that the man who was defying all logic was out of the picture. He stood there, tapping his toes as he waited--knowing that the two baiters would come for blood after their ally had been cut down like that. The glee still pittered through the Worker's blood as he looked from baiter to baiter--the girl's expression was what he was waiting for the most. He wanted to see the look on her face while Acel coughed blood and slowly died--fading away. As she came in, however, striking out at the arm he had used to attack her, he pulled it back and did a little hop to get out of her range--distancing himself from the scythe. But as he hopped backwards the man with the katana was lying in wait. The man flew in and struck out while the Worker was still gaining his balance from the hop, and he was cutting toward the damn wound that Acel had already inflicted.

The Worker brought his fist up, slamming it into the bottom of the blade, but it did not move it in time. It knocked it up, sure, but it only changed the impact location from his neck to his jaw, and the lightning coated blade shocked and cut its way through the Worker's jaw actually severing the bone of the man's jaw with the strike and sending a new torrent of blood cascading down the front of the man's shirt. The Worker cried out in pain, screaming in anger as the blood poured forth without stop. As the next attack blasted in toward the Worker's shoulder, he stepped to the side, sliding away from the sword swing, and launching a kick to send Akio reeling backwards. The strike would not find its mark, but the Worker could feel the buzz of electricity running through the wound in his jaw, and he attempted to grind his teeth together, but his jaw would not move. Seemed Akio had silenced the angry enemy. The Worker, however, was not prepared to lay down his arms. He narrowed his eyes and blasted forward, aimed straight for Akio. The man jumped, kicking off one of the pipes on the wall to redirect himself, sliding around the side of Akio with the leap and swinging his elbow down in a vicious strike toward the top of Akio's head. Simultaneously the man's body would disappear--leaving the same trail of energy from the modules on his body. His second strike came in the form of a monstrous headbutt aimed to crack Sarah right in the face. He would kill these meddling pricks. Both of them. Right here, right now.

Sarah watched Acel after blocking the Worker, her face losing complete color when she saw the hole that the Worker had left in him after attacking him. It was horrible to look at, watching as Acel seemed to turn back to his normal self, but with blood coming from his mouth. She couldn't handle gore movies, what made her think she could handle this? This was real, it was real blood coming from Acel's mouth, real blood coming from the hole in his side that the man caused. There was real blood coming from the Worker, that Acel had caused to spray out. She watched as Acel disappeared into a ray of code, after hitting the ground. That didn't help her with the guilt she was feeling along with the nausea that was growing inside her. Keep fighting, and don't worry about him, he's died before. That's what Midas said that Acel wanted to say. The Guard said, but she barely heard it through the rush in her head.

Sarah's attack missed but she was sure it was because her wave was rippling and waving, threatening to bring the small bit of food she had that day to come back. She put her hand to her mouth, feeling a lump in her throat. She couldn't keep it down, she was sure of it. Sarah! Keep it together! This man isn't going to wait for you to recover from vomiting, he'll hit you even more when you do so. Throw up after we're done, whether it's when we die or when we win. The guard called out. Sarah swallowed hard, letting out a choked cry. It was right, she couldn't let go yet. She could let it go later. There would be time later.

Sarah saw Akio hit the Worker, glad at least he could still fight. She felt useless with the nausea inside her. It was causing her to slow down quite a bit. She watched as the Worker made his attack, going for Akio first. This man didn't give up, honestly it seemed he was even more happy. She wondered which of them would be his focus this time since Acel had died. She gasped a bit, looking at the worker who used his quick speed to appera before her. She couldn't react quick enough, watching as his face came toward her, slamming into her right eye. She heard the crack then the pain shooting from her eye across her face. She yelped, backing away. The top bridge of her nose hurt as well, sure that the worker hit it along with her eye.

Her eyes stung as tears started to well up from the pain. She took a deep, shaken breath in, slowly collecting herself as she realized the nausea had passed. For now, she knew it would come back once all this was over. She sniffled, fighting back the tears before gripping her scythe. She would keep fighting, until either she or him were stopped. Akio could do it, it was obvious, so could she. She swung her scythe sideways, aiming toward the worker's side with the blade out.

                                        60 - 58 = 2 - 100 = 98 - 30 = 68%
Oh how kind of the worker to wait for Akio to push away his mental breakdown before continuing his assault on them. Akio’s hands still shook during his attack, but he still shot forward and did what he needed to do, somehow managing to land an attack on the damned man, though it did almost nothing in terms of damage. However, he did notice that the worker was slowing down, reducing his strength behind his movements. The swipe along the enemy’s jaw seemed electric, same as most of the other wounds which Akio dealt. Another beautiful outcome of the attack which hit was that it successfully dislocated the jaw of the Worker. Good, at least the last moments of this mans life would be completely silent.

Akio let out a nervous sounding chuckle, his hand still shaking as he gripped his sword a little too tight. The attack came at him with an interesting slowness that confused Akio. It wasn’t that the Worker was slowing, or slower than normal, but that Akio perceived it faster than he had previously. The worker aimed to strike the top of Akio’s head, the man obviously going in for hits that would end the battle there. But, Akio managed to slip away, avoiding the hit to this vital spot. But without giving Akio the chance to blink, the worker then vanished. No, he didn’t vanish, the Worker dashed so fast his mind couldn’t process it, that had to be it… Yes, but before he was able to fully register this completely, Sarah was smacked in the face by the Worker. She obviously reeled in pain due to the workers head colliding with hers, a small bruise more than likely going to form across her nose, marring her pretty features. He could see a small amount of tears well in her eyes, but he couldn’t think about that at the moment.

As Sarah retaliated immediately, so did he. Akio focused on the Worker, allowing himself to shoot forward as fast as he could, small streaks of electricity flowing and striking behind him in his speed, he made his first attack. His knuckles white against the hilt of his sword, he swung down in order to strike the Worker along the jaw, the same place he had struck before. Lighting still engulfed his blade, sparks connecting with the worker, whether or not these attacks landed. Sparks flew around him, emanating as he felt a sort of anger well up in him. After seeing what he had seen, Kimiko dying and it being his fault, then Ducky dying and it being at least partially his fault. Sarah was next, and he knew it.

No, he couldn’t let it happen. He struck again, attacking in quick succession to the other, this time coming from the right as he brought the sword around to the Workers shoulder. None of this was okay, and he had to end it as quick as possible...

Akio's Attack x2: 50 - 60 = 1 (100 - 1 = 99% Defense Chance) (-30% From Stamina = 69% Defense Chance)

The Worker could not grind his teeth, he tried to clench his jaw out of frustration when the man who had cut through his jaw was able to avoid his strike--but when he tried, he found himself overwhelmed by the pain sensors--shooting the feeling through his entire head, and he let his jaw go slack. He could not move it without agony--so he could not do much other than suck it up and just not move his damn mouth. But the bastards would pay--sure as s**t they would. Even after he had missed his strike on the man, his second attack was a grand success as he slammed his head forward toward the woman and managed to smash her in the face with his head. Sure, pain exploded through his own head as well, but he knew he did more damage to her than he did to himself. This was a good thing. He watched the tears well up in her eyes and he knew that the strike had done exactly what he wanted it to. The bruising had already started across the bridge of her nose, and the Worker revelled in it. He would cause her more pain--he would cause them both pain, until, like their friend, they died. But, as he had finished striking her, the woman launched a counter attack. She swung her scythe, recovering from the blast to her face, and the damn thing was so fast that the Worker tried to dodge backwards, but the scythe was so long, that he misjudged the reach and the blade sunk directly into his side, blasting into his ribs and cutting into his insides, and the man cried out in pain as the blood began to drip from that wound as well. Son of a b***h these people were getting annoying. He would not have his victory stolen from him like this!

Akio was the next to come for him, but the Worker was prepared this time--the sword was something he was familiar with. As the asian man launched his first attack, the Worker narrowed his eyes, seeing the trajectory and realizing immediately that he was going for his jaw again. That greedy p***k! He was trying to cut up the Worker's face even more!? The Worker ducked low and shot a kick out at the man's leg, striking him in the shin to throw him off and reduce the effectiveness of his next strike, as well as avoiding the initial blow. As the man's second attack came directly after, it was shakier due to the strike to his leg, and the Worker grinned as he tucked and rolled to the side, avoiding it completely, and preparing in his mind the way he would be able to strike back at the man. He launched himself back toward the man, shooting over toward Akio and pulling back his fist, throwing a vicious punch forward toward the man's face, but in the last moment curving the punch down sharply and instead aiming to smash the punch into the man's collar bone and break it, so the man's slashing power would be reduced. He needed to weaken them somehow. The blood from his side was pooling--pouring down and soaking through his shirt and pants as he was marred by the woman's weapon. He needed to end it quick. As the punch for his collar bone was thrown, the streak of energy left behind from his modules would barely be seen as he blasted across the battlefield and threw another monster of a punch at Sarah's left elbow joint--hoping to break the woman's arm.

Sarah swallowed hard as she watched her scythe sink into the worker's side. Dear God she was not helping her sickness. She thought maybe she would just scrap the guy, but no, her scythe cut right into him like a kitchen knife cutting into a stab of meat she had seen on a few kitchen shows she glanced at when looking for something to watch on television. The biggest difference was that this was a cow, it was a man and he was leaking a lot more blood than that steak ever did. But both didn't help her stomach though. Stop making yourself sick please. You're starting to make me sick. The guard muttered in her head, not sounding so good himself.

Sarah stepped away as Akio began his attacks on the worker, feeling bad that she didn't try to hold him in place so his hits could get in when she saw the worker avoid them despite the newest wound, but she was too shaken to think clearly. She hoped he would understand, she would be better against an A.I. but against an actual person, she couldn't keep it in. Sarah took a step back as she tried to clear her head, maybe if she thought of a song or a melody, it would help. Maybe. She wasn't sure. She tried to keep the two far away from each other. Fighting and music were work and joy, two different things. It wasn't right to bring the two together. She looked up, her eyes widening when she saw the worker beside her. She couldn't react quick enough, hearing the bone snap in her left arm as she raised it to defend herself.

Another choked cry came from her mouth, quickly dropping the scythe. She couldn't hold it anymore. She needed both hands to swing it and her left arm couldn't stand the weight. She didn't dare look at her arm, sure it looked bad. The bone trying to stick out of the skin, she could almost see it in her mind as her hand ran across it. She could feel it, but she wasn't sure what to do with it. If there was anything to do with it. She was pathetic, twice in a row she had gotten hit. She couldn't keep her mind on the fight like Akio or Acel could. After this, she would be surprised if she saw Akio or Acel at all, let alone talk to them. She wasn't much of a fighter and they would see that, Akio would tell Acel and they would both agree to not have her join them anymore. They knew where Chicago was, so that meant they didn't need her anymore.

Sarah moved her hand away from the broken bone, her right going immediately for her belt and pulled out one of the two last boxes that sat on her belt. She pressed against a button, the sword emerging from it, forming in her hand. It glowed blue, letting off a light like Akio's lightening. Sarah took a few deep breathes, keeping her left arm tucked close to her stomach as she lunged toward the worker. This maybe her last group mission, but she wasn't going to walk away. She was going to see this through. She became a baiter for a reason didn't she? Sarah swung her sword once she was in range, aiming for the arm the worker used to break her bone.

                                        Turn 14

                                        60 - 58 = 2 - 100 = 98 - 30 = 68%
Akio let out a breath. He had to be calm, had to calm himself down. Acel’s death shook him up too much, and there was no other choice but to calm down. The logical side of his mind told him this, and yet he was still panicking; his hands gripping his sword to the point where his knuckles were white, his palms cold and trembling, his heart beating way too fast. Akio couldn’t think straight anymore, all of his ideas and plans for the battle threatened to escape him, and he had to fight them to keep them where he needed them. Then again, he was fighting well enough without them. Or at least he thought he was. For most of the battle, he had landed hits that mattered on this Worker, and he had managed to kill the E-Trooper. Granted, he had a chess board playing out in his head during most of the battle. Now? It was almost as if someone had wiped the board, all of the pieces he had discarded jumbled with the ones still in play. All of his moves gone to waste and future ones lost in the panic.

All he could do now was breath and continue trying. Death had shaken him too much, but he had to fight it. Push the panic away, at least for a moment, while the battle raged on. Was there a way to calm the storm? To fend off the encroaching panic to be able to do what was necessary? ‘Yes. Ground yourself. Death is not the end game, it is not the end.’ Akio took in another deep breath as his attacks were effortlessly blocked, then Sarah’s broken through. Her scythe sliced into the man’s side, spraying even more blood around as the blade imbedded in skin. Akio would loved to have said that he was unaffected by the amount of blood coating the walls and floor of these Chicago tunnels. To say that he was okay enough to continue the fight without worry of dying, knowing that he was going to survive. But then he heard the grotesque snap of Sarah’s arm breaking, and he couldn’t help but visibly flinch, stepping on a puddle of blood and almost slipping. While this gave him the chance to dodge the fist flying at him, aimed perfectly at his collar bone, it was not a beautifully graceful move.

None of what was happening was graceful, nor fluid. Akio didn’t fall, but he slid a decent length away from the worker, allowing the attack to slide right passed his chest to hit open air. It was true that he still had yet to have received any damage, but that didn’t stop Akio from panicking. What if he died? What if Sarah died in front of him as well, and he could do nothing to stop it? It was already well displayed that he was unable to help out during the battle, and Sarah had to suffer for it. Now her arm was broken, and he was perfectly fine.

Once again, Akio had to pause and grind his teeth. He had to think his way out, force his thoughts to align themselves again. Place the pieces back on the board and continue playing. Because, in the end, that’s all this was, right? One big chess game? Taking a deep breath in, Akio widened his stance to stabilize himself, loosening the grip he had on his Katana. What was there? What could he see and touch? What was real? He could touch the blood on the ground, the heavy boots on his feet, the sword in his hand. He could taste the iron in the air, the fear in his mouth, and the bile he could feel creeping up his throat. Then there was the smell of iron floating through the air, and the sweat of the worker as he attempted to kill them with the small amount of hope he had left. He could hear bones breaking, and the gasping for breath as they all fought for the same goal. Death. Sight? He could see many things. When he finally made his way to the final sense, he felt a little better, and was able to loosen his grip on the sword enough to make for a more accurate hit. He could see the worker leaving an opening for an attack, a beautiful spot for Akio to place an attack.

Another shot forward, Akio took off to attack the worker along the back. There was a good chunk of time which he could swing his sword and connect a hit, and hopefully he was fast enough to work it. He swung down, forcing the attack to have as much power as he could muster, only able to wish the man dead. In quick succession, he spun and attacked again, hoping to stick his sword into the Workers side where Sarah’s previous attack had landed.

Wish another man dead? Wish something at all dead? He hated the wish, but there was nothing better to describe his wants.
