Whispering Minstrel Morning of Day Five The Twiggs had come home after unsuccessfully locating the Healer, taking a rest for a majority of the day after making sure everything was fine. Soundly asleep after being up for an entire day and a half, they did not stir when the wolves attempted to attack the farm, or even hear the Galemn escaping when it did. Lonnie stood numbly at the scene in front of him. A wolf's corpse splayed out by his corn field and the lizard creature, deep gashes along its sides, sat there with its tail thumping excitedly against the dirt. He looked to his sister with a grin. "Can we keep it?" GalemniusAfter the fight, it was weary, It's limbs heavy from the injuries it sustained. It noticed two new presences around it. The two-leg twins were here! That meant foods, and company! As the two rushed over to survey the aftermath of last the struggle. It's tail began thumping as it sensed a change in the mood of the two-legs. A broad grin split it's reptillian features << I do goods? Special meat safe?>>

Goopy didn't like being at the bottom of a barrel, Goopy needed to find his furry friend- oooh more apples, okay Goopy was happy again, absorbing the apple and digesting it contently as there were sounds of things happening outside the barrel, but if they didn't concern Goopy or Goopy's friend then they could make sounds as much as they wanted-
The furry friend! Goopy wiggled and blurbled happily when Cailly peeked over his barrel, she was alive and uneaten! What a successful rescue mission. ...Except Goopy was the one who ended up captured. Details details, now they could go and play together again!
Or they would if the furry friend hadn't been pushed away by the giant holding Goopy captive. No, this won't do! Goopy wants to be with the furry friend! With his determination renewed, Goopy rocked the barrel stronger than ever, hoping to catch his captor off guard and knock the wooden prison over. Nothing can keep a Goopling from his friend!

(Sorry, classes had me busy today) The maid gave a start as the barrel began rocking violently. Half dozing off, she was not expecting the creature inside to suddenly aggressively want its freedom, and before she could get a firm grip on it again, the barrel fell its side and rolled underneath a table, the force almost knocking it off or its legs! ---------------- At the farm, Leira tossed a good sized chunk of the left over elk to the Galemn, a reward for doing a fine job protecting the place while they were dead to the world. The twins agreed that as long as it kept this kind of behavior up, it could stay with them as long as it wanted. Besides, if it brought them the elk, it might bring them more. The Huntress was still sore, both physically and emotionally from the fact that she would have to stick to trapping small things for a while. But if the creature wouldn't mind accompanying her on a hunt, she wouldn't mind too terribly. Lonnie was just happy that the animals were safe, and only a few corn stalks were trampled in the skirmish. If it protected his lively hood, it was okay in his book.

Success! The barrel fell to the ground, wait why was it still going- aaand he rolled all the way under a table. Wow, Goopy must be stronger than Goopy realized! Must be something in the apples. But still, Goopy slid his way out of the barrel and looked around for the furry friend, making sure to stay away from the giants and their tendency for barrels. No more barrels!
(That's okay! And I have to go get my car smogged so I'll be back later)

While appriciating that the healer seemed to be trying to be nice, Scáthach had no interest in the apples. If the maid had attempted to give them to her then the feline would have been tempted to break the plate in her hands but the healer seems polite. At least for now, she knew humans could be as fickle as cats... She instead turned her attention to finding a place to nap as she had been awake far longer than normal. The sound of the barrel falling startles her, causing her to jump back a little and then casually pretend that she totally didn't just hit the wall. She grumbles to herself quietly before going to curl up near the healer, tiredly keeping an eye on the room from her new spot.

And the sound of the barrel crashing into the table, Martha finally came back to consciousness, immediately straightening herself in the seat she was in. After a few hours of rest, the color of her face had returned to its usual fairness, and her eye resumed their normal lofty gaze as she surveyed the wreckage of the dining area in the bar and in the entryway. She pursed her lips in disapproval. The maid, seeing her boss was awake, felt an ice cold shiver go running down her spine. She was fired...she was so fired. "Annalise..." the Innkeeper said calmly, causing the poor girl to shake in fear, "I need a drink. A strong one." The maid shot up to go prepare the beverage for her, hands rattling and clinking the glass bottles together nervously, causing some of the liquid to spill on the counter. Handing the drink to Martha, she stood to the side, not exactly sure which one she was more terrified of at the moment, the witch-cat or the Innkeeper. Yvenne was about to stop the woman from downing the contents of the glass, afraid it might have adverse effects on the medicine that still might be in her system, but she was a little late, the glass already on the table before she could open her mouth. Martha exhaled a long breath, closing her eyes, before addressing the maid again, "I expect things tidy by dawn. and I expect everyone present to behave themselves..." she said the final part with a sweeping glance to the others present within the room, adding a repulsed look to her face as she saw the slime trying to ooze away. She was not awake at the time to know that another member had joined their party within the inn, nor did she care at the moment. She had a little business to attend to elsewhere. Still a little wobbly, she stood from the seat and called for her furry pet, the orange thing bounding its way up her arm and onto her usual place on the woman's shoulder. Cailly called the slime with a squeak, hoping it would follow them for more fun!

If there was tension in the air, Goopy didn't notice it one bit, but he did notice his furry friend, wibbling on over to the giant that Cailly was perched on, looking up at the furry one and the giant woman with a smile only a creature oblivious to how the world operated could muster. Goopy blubbered a reply to Cailly's squeak and wiggled in place, wondering how the heck he was going to get up to the giant woman's other shoulder. Gooplings are not as agile as furry ones...

Silho darted to the cats shadow as soon as she saw the plate placed for it. Yes! This was prefect! She looked at the cat from its shadow, giving it a smirk, reaching out a spidery arm, grabbing the shadow of the food and pulling it to her mouth, chomping heartily. Good. So good! This was so good! Silho stretched out of the cats shadow, forming her own, crawling across the boards to the plate , opening her mouth wide, devouring the shadows in one bite. Her whole being wiggled with pleasure as her belly was now full. She looked to the cat, smiling.

Scáthach looked down at the strange shadow creature when it darted into her shadow. It seemed to be harmless though the way it smirked at her annoyed her. She hisses at it and halfheartedly bats at it, she was too tired for this right now.

Morning of Day 6
Business as usual was slowly returning to the town of Habit, as the folk grew used to the company of the strange creatures that had arrived so suddenly. Well, most of them anyway. The Twiggs had taken to the Galmen rather well, the reptilian beast making an odd rendition of a guard-dog for when they both had to leave the farm for the day. Leira was especially glad that it was able to drag back what it helped her hunt, her wrist being bound in a splint given by Yvenne. While Goopy the slime stayed away from the humans (and barrels), Cailly always managed to slip away to go and find her jiggly friend, much to the dismay of her owner. Martha sent Annalise to go and keep an eye on them when she would discover the rambunctious pet had disappeared. Seeing that the slime left such an obvious trail to its whereabouts, finding the two never really proved to be a problem. The Innkeeper saw this as a means for the maid to have redeemed herself after what had happened the day before. Sitting at the front desk, she was just finishing a letter to an acquaintance of hers, a previous guest at the inn from some years ago. With an elaborate scrawl she penned her signature and folded the paper neatly, sealing and adding the postage so that it may reach the recipient. She would hand it over to Beety later for delivery. Looking over to the bar, she saw the sleek figure of the cat stretched out underneath a table, making itself at home in her establishment. There was a faint twitch in her face, the barest semblance of a frown, and then it was. -------------------------------- Lonnie stood outside the Blacksmith's forge, waiting for an opportunity to go in that didn't involve getting bludgeoned in the head with a hammer. Gare was busy shouting at his apprentices over the roar of the fire and pangs of metal striking metal, and if a wrong move was made while they were so focused on their work, it could lead to a very serious accident. One of the apprentices looked up to see the lanky farmer standing there, and nodded to the gruff man to get his attention. Looking around, the heavily scarred Blacksmith's face never left his serious expression, but his eyes had a distinctive warmth to them. He stepped outside so that the two could discuss why the young man had come to see him at his shop. "Ah, Hey Gare! Y'seem real busy in there right now. If you want me to come back later..." Lonnie began to say, but was silenced by a wave of the larger man's gnarled hands. "What is it you want boy...don't try to play word games with me." came the low reply, deep voice resonating within his chest. The Farmer nodded, bringing out of a pocket as list, the words written hastily and not all correctly spelled. "I need a few things for the farm, seeing that harvest is almost here. Some of my equipment seems to be in disrepair, and I was hoping you could see if some of it could be salvaged or not", Lonnie explained, pointing to some items on the list. The Blacksmith gave the list some thought, before nodding to him. "I'll see what I can do. I know some of those are very dear to you...yes, bring them in when you can," Gare handed back the list and returned back into the forge, bellowing orders once again to the apprentices. Lonnie smiled wide...now if only he could figure out a way to get the items here.

Goopy was quite content to explore this new land with his furry friend, just how far away from the cave was he? None of this place felt familiar, would the other Gooplings be missing him? ...Well, that can be pondered later, Goopy hadn't yet explored all of this area, and next he found himself oozing into sight of the farm... This is new! Goopy blubbered to the furry friend in excitement, look at this!

Cailly was having a blast, bouncing all over the town with her green gooey friend. The one who had given her a bath unfortunately kept following the two pals around, but that didn't stop them from going on adventures! Like right now! As they made it over the hill, sights of dazzling gold and green swaying in the breeze suddenly filled their vision, a small structure of wood sitting in front of a much taller (if a little rickety looking) one. Trembling with excitement, the tiny fur slinky took off down the hill, wanting to play hide and seek within the tall stalks of the corn field. Annalise frowned as her charge sped off, looking down near the green slime with an exasperated sigh. "You're going to go in there too...aren't you" she said, mostly to herself knowing that the goo couldn't talk, or even understand her really. She wondered if she should tell the twins they were arriving...before something were to happen to their crops.

Galemnius<< Sleepish>>Life at the farm was a new, yet welcome experience for the creature. It knew some new things and some rules now. Bring back meat for more meat, help the long haired two-leg, stop scaring the Special Meat (Friendship takes time it supposed), and fighting the little four-legs was very good. The beast sat by the grains shed it had broken out of earlier. It stared at the tall green stalks across the field and thought it's strange thoughts. << What are green? Special too? But not meat? Two-legs like plant-friends? Weird two-legs...>> It wasn't long before he picked up the scent of the two new comers to his new territory. << Weird sweety-burny smell... And another...what even is? Confuse... Oh, and other two-leg...>>The Galemn made a show of getting to its feet and Sauntered over to where the new creatures of yet undetermined leg-status were headed. It's tail began to sway as it approached. It finally saw the cause of the strange smells after a short distance, and became even more confused. << Greeny thingy? What even...? And fluffy thingy? Oh, there two-legs...>> The Galemn sat down and pondered its new situation.

Cailly wove her way through the tall stalks of corn, the earthy scents nearly overwhelming her domestic nose. Seeing one that leaned slightly against another, she took the opportunity to climb to the top of the stalk, bouncing along the husks containing sweet golden treasure within them. Reaching the top, she chattered excitedly as she looked across the field from her vantage point, the slight weight of her body causing the stalk to sway in a small breeze. Her eyes caught some movement heading toward the maid and her green friend, something large, with heavy footfalls, loud against the packed dirt. The little fur slinky grew wary of the thing, attempting to shrink her size against the stalk as it passed by, it's paddle like tail brushing against some of the nearby rows of corn. This was not like silly grey barking friend that came by with the tiny one, this was dangerous, snappy thing. Big snappy thing. And Cailly did not like it. Annalise took one look at the reptilian creature that sat in front of her, staring with its head turned in a curious manner, and groaned. Did this one talk to? Why was it everywhere she went some new creature seemed to pop up and try to ruin her day. Did the world not want her to like animals? She was about to address the creature, so as not to offend this one, when the Farmer poked his head from inside the house. "Ah! Um...it's okay...I don't think it's gonna bite you...makes a good guard...thing, though!" He called to her with a laugh, before coming out across the yard to meet her.

Goopy was about to go join his furry friend in the stalks, when a very big lizard thing made its way towards him and the giant... Giant lizards? Do they eat Gooplings? Goopy hid behind the giant maid, you could eat her first.
Then another giant came out of that wood house, a skinny giant. Looks like they were talking their giant language to each other, so Goopy looked back at the big lizard... It didn't look like it was going to eat Goopy, so Goopy hesitantly came out from behind the maid giant and wibbled a few inches towards the big lizard bravely... then stopped. That was enough bravery for one day.
