The Elder Wolf was sure that the feint would have worked. It was sure that it would be able to ram its horns through his little woman's spine, but as it charged forward she ducked down, keeping her body so close to the floor that the wolf merely passed right over her. It might have stepped on her a time or two on the way past, but nothing that would have hurt her too much. It snarled in anger as it whirled around to face her, but as it did, she was already prepared and bringing a second vicious strike down towards its neck. The beast knew it could not dodge, but it also knew it could not take another direct hit where she had cut it before. So it compromised. It shifted its body so the uncut side of its neck took the attack and the blade sliced deep into it once again, stopping just short of its spine. Now there was very little holding the A.I. core's neck together, and the head was in grave danger of being separated from the body. The second strike was avoided as the demon jumped into the air and bolted it, running from the woman in a mixture of fear and pure survival instinct. As it ran, it whirled around, the bloodlust still pouring off of it. It wanted to take this woman down, but it no longer knew if it could...it no longer knew much of anything. As the blood poured out of the Elder Wolf it began to lose feeling in its body and it charged forward once again, leaping into the air and attempting to bring its jaws down in a tight clamp around the woman's neck. It just wanted to taste her blood before it died. That was all.

The beast evaded her strike, moving out of a way and spilling its blood on the marble floors. Quantis' attack the last time made the blood of the Elder Wolf sprayed on her, covering in the dark-red liquid of the monster. Her blade had cut into the flesh of the beastly AI core again that time and deep her blade went. While it didn't done in the Elder Wolf she hunted once and for all, it was a fatal wound nonetheless. One bloody gash that left little muscles, veins, arteries and its spine to nothing keeping its head in tact with the body. It was a surprise it can still elude her attacks, lunged with its razor sharp, jagged teeth and emanate bloodthirst that made her skin crawl again and again just being close to the beast.
Quantis had a new found respect for this Elder Wolf. From what she had gathered from baiters and her uncle, the first AI core was the one from the HALF process, bound to their bodies as it provided them with strength and abilities that was beyond the bounds of humanity; even that those who've surrendered their flesh for metal and circuitry, to become less human and more machine. She won't have any complains having this one her partner against the challenges she'll face. In fact, she was delighted to have something to be her very first AI core to be like-minded as her. Arrogant her thoughts were as the victor hasn't been decided yet, that was just her honest opinion in the matter.
The femme saw the incoming attack or rather, heard it as there was no reflective surfaces she can use to look at the beast that came to her, seeking for her blood to quench its throat. Its hooves clanked against the marble ground heavily and unyielding as it galloped with the last of its surge of energy to attack her. Quantis felt the looming danger that prickled on her skin like needles that sent her nerves on overdrive; the sensation was pronounced at her neck. She had pivoted her heels, sidestepping, in time as the sensation of bloodthirst when over the edge for her as well as the sounds of the hooves so close that it felt like it rattled her mind.
The femme twisted her body after close-call evasive maneuver and letting the momentum from her evasion carried into the chop of her bladed arm onto what remained of the beastly AI core's neck. She simply didn't end it there as she spun on her heels again, continuing use the momentum she was building up and transporting to sever diagonally from bottom-left to upper right of the flesh of its exposed belly. It was soon followed a kick from her bladed leg, one that was lightning swift and precise, lashing to attack beast. Her only mercy to the beast was to kill it fast and quick and a show of her respect.
As the Elder Wolf charged forward across the school floors, attempting to chomp the woman's throat, she surprised it with another show of grace, twisting her body and moving to avoid the attack with expert precision. But as she turned, she also brought her arm down towards the Wolf's neck. This maneuver was something it had been hit with multiple times, and something it would not be hit by again. The Wolf immediately twisted its neck so that it would intercept the strike with the horns, and it caught the blade in the tangled mesh of seemingly indestructible horns. The second attack came sweeping in, and the Elder knew that if it were to be hit by anything this woman was throwing at it, it would be the end of this battle. It was hanging on to life by a shred, and it could barely even stand. Its legs shook, weak and tired. It snarled as it jumped backwards from the woman, and the second and third strikes fell on air instead of the wolf's body. It was ready to collapse, and it barely even managed to stay on its feet after it jumped, its legs nearly giving out. But it managed. The red faded from its eyes, and the Elder Wolf shook its head, feeling the pain from the almost severed spine rolling through its body like thunder. It knew it had lost, but with the last shreds of life hanging on, it could not bring itself to stop fighting. It had to succeed. It had to. It ran forward once more, the beast's last moments, it was sure, and it lowered its head. Even if the impact destroyed its already cut neck, it would bring her down with it. It aimed to plant the horns into the woman's stomach. Hopefully it could tear up her insides and she would die on its antlers. But there was no guarantee that it would even work. All it could do was hope.

OOC: So, this is his last turn in bloodrage mode. After this, it is back to normal, so your defence chance will go back up a little. =]
The beast proved her again and again how its tenacious in surviving even with the fatal wounds she had inflicted upon it. Straining its already literally loosely hanging neck to evade her strike and parrying with its antlers that she cannot break or cut; leaping away at the moment her right arm wrestled itself to cut it the second time and the follow-up only hitting thin air.
Quantis didn't go after it as she sized-up her opponent again; even knowing it was a good time to finish it. The Elder Wolf proved to be a more worthy foe and one she cannot underestimate. The bloodthirst that it emitted was gone, the sensation in the air that made her skin crawl had disappeared and the thirst in the eyes of the beastly AI Core had vanished as well. While its legs were ready to gave in, it still had a fight it in. There was a glint in its orbs that told her the Elder Wolf will continue to clash against her until she kills it or it landing a death blow on her.
Even in its state that was near to death's doors, it charged forth with its unbreakable horns poised to penetrate deep into her flesh. Quantis' arm blade clashed with the beast's horns; holding them in a deadlock that was only temporary. One will budge or make a blunder. While she still was in good shape (except for her punctured, bleeding left arm), it was no doubt fatigue was present at her face. It won't take long before her exhaustion causes her a fatal mistake. Same goes for the Elder Wolf that was on the verge of dying, only hoping of landing a fatal death blow keeping it from collapsing to its demise and pride or so she suspected.
The femme pushed the beast, the exoskeleton legs of her combat gear buzzed with energy as it drove her forth. "AAAAAHHH!!" letting her own roar for the first time in their battle, Quantis gave one powerful shove, her blade caught up in the tangled mess with the AI Core's horns shot up with force enough to break the neck of the beast. The instant her arm blade was freed, the femme somersaulted forward as her bladed leg came down with a vicious drop kick. Her kick left her opened if it didn't hit but she wasn't out of tricks! Quantis swung her right arm from her left to the right fast, the blade attached on her right forearm was released, flying towards the Elder Wolf as a razor sharp discus.
The battle somehow continued to rage onward with neither of the combatants able to really land that final blow that needed to end this farce. As the Elder Wolf swung in, slamming its horns toward the enemy, she was able to quickly bring her arm up once again to block the blow with those strange blades that grew out of her body. How could she switch them from limb to limb like that? The Elder Wolf knew that it could most definitely not switch the location of its horns. Perhaps it was a strange ability that this woman's species had mastered. She didn't seem quite human...perhaps she was a machine, for real. The Wolf pondered it for a moment, until it saw in her eyes that she was prepared to begin her assault. If it would have been consumed by its bloodrage, it would never had noticed the subtleties that showed she was going to do it, but when she reefed her arm up to snap its neck, the Wolf shook its head, knowing that its only chance for survival was to get her arm away from the horns before she pulled. But as the Wolf tried to de-tangle the horns from her arm before she could snap it, she was already reefing upwards and there was a loud crack that echoed through the classroom as the Wolf's neck was snapped. Her following attacks were stopped as the Wolf's body fell to the floor, limp. The horns slowly began to erase from existence, deteriorating into a bright string of code before the body followed suit, vanishing into thin air and becoming nothing but a string of numbers and letters whirling through the air until it suddenly blasted forward toward Quantis. It would swing around her head and then begin filtering into the mechanism on the back of her neck, slowly being absorbed into her Code Core before the object would change in appearance, shifting to take on certain aspects of the Elder Wolf. When it was finished absorbing, the woman would awake, and she would be filled with the power that the A.I. Core fed into her body.

With her entire being, she felt it; from her right arm, travelling to her feet planted on the ground. The strong resistance coming from the tangled blade and horn vanished as the painful snapping sound reverberated throughout the silent classroom. What follow-up attacks she intended to do, Quantis stopped herself from executing them; her prey was slaughtered already. The Elder Wolf's body laid collapsed on the floor, blood pooling from its corpse, coming to her direction yet she stood there without a single desire to move. Her amber-hued eyes were still locked onto the dead carcass of the AI Core. She watched as its physical form become a thousands strings of data, from its unbreakable horns she had clashed against with her blades numerous times then to its entire body.
The strings of codes, changing from binary, to decimal, to hexadecimal then into different chains of programming codes and so forth, made their way towards her direction alike a lightning bolt. They swirled around her then flowed into her Code Core. Quantis had closed her eyes and took the codes in with opened arms. From that point, she felt immense power beyond what she had experienced in her life. The femme opened her amber orbs, watching as the mental landscape shrouded in darkness alike light being switched off from one location to the other until the place where she stood experienced the same thing.
Quantis opened her eyes yet again. This time however, she didn't found herself in her old classroom but the Code Core Department of Paris. The femme slowly sat up and still dazed that all of that just happened. Blinking, "I-I passed..." she muttered to herself, her lips tugging into a victorious and satisfied smile.
Her eyes met the figure of a familiar face, the doctor from before. A lady taller than her, likely around 5'7", who sported an auburn hair braided beautifully and tidily. She pushed up her rectangular frames; the dark-brown eyes behind those spectacles met her amber eyes. The lips of the good doctor curved into a smile and made a beeline towards her. "Hi~ Good morning and good to see you passed the Procedure" upbeat and soft was her voice as Quantis recalled.
"Yeah..." she replied with a distant voice, "I can't still believe it that I passed but in the same time... I feel it. The Elder Wolf that's in my Code Core; I can feel his presence at the back of my mind. How my body felt.... stronger.... as well."
The doctor nodded and made a holographic window appear before Quantis. It showed her face but that wasn't the point of why the other femme opened it. With her unclothed hand, she reached towards her choker around her neck. It didn't have the metallic yet gel-like texture she was used to. The choker felt like ivory but much stronger, reminding her of the horns of the Elder Wolf; strangely enough, the longer she touched it, the more its becoming less of ivory in texture and more of soft fur. Black wasn't the color of the accessory anymore, from white becoming dark-brown in color. At the center of the choker was an gem-like stone embedded, yellow in color and shone when touched, it also gave a faint heartbeat as well, telling the Elder Wolf was active.
As Quantis was about to stand up, the doctor placed her hands on her shoulders, stopping her. "What? I am free to go, correct? I want to head to the headquarters already." while she sounded rude, it wasn't intentionally. She was slightly groggy, exhausted mentally from fighting the Elder Wolf. "I know." the doctor merely smiled at her, understanding the condition of the femme. "But there's one more matter you should settle before going over the main HQ."
As if it was timed by the female or the person at the other land, after her words, Quantis received a transmission from an unknown number. "Transmit call." voicing the command, a holographic window opened in front of her and she was flabbergasted by the person on the other side. "U-uncle?" composing herself yet her voice quivered somewhat, Quantis asked with a smile and excitement in her voice.
"First and foremost, congratulations on passing the HALF Procedure. You are now officially a Baiter so give yourself a pat on your back my adorable Kuu!" cue Quantis pouting at how he still addresses her like that! In front of someone else too! She looked away when the doctor chuckled. "And? That's not the only reason you called, right? Except also wanting to see me."
Leonardo beamed a soft smile at her niece and nodded. "I apologize for not being there before they put you up for the procedure. Because... as you know, my hands are tied up here. Anyway, I'll meet you up at the Headquarters when I'm done over here. Until then, hone your skills and keep yourself alive!" the transmission ended there, without much of a goodbye from the two parties. However, that was normal in Quantis' book.
Standing up, Quantis thanked the doctor for being in her care and headed to her next destination. She wasn't heading for the teleport chamber. Not just yet as she made a detour and went outside. The femme scaled up one of the highest skyscrapers she could find; it was much faster now being a baiter. Quantis looked over the city she had become fond off for the last few years. The streets she roamed during her school days with friends and enemies alike. The places she went and breathed in the landscape. Nostalgia engulfed her but only for a moment. "À tout à l'heure ... Paris." bidding her farewell to the city, Quantis returned to the Base and this time, her destination was the B.A.I.T.R. Headquarters
It had seemed like it was just yesterday that he kissed his sister goodbye. His eyes were still slightly frozen shut, rubbing them had helped with the thawing. Things were getting easier to see. Where was he? When was he? As far as he knew, he was still at the cryo lab in Geneva. The only thing familiar to him was the smell of his old Police uniform and the feel of his firearm at his side. "What happened to my Lilly? My little sister..." People had helped him and moved him from there. Paris. That was where they were now. He sat in a metallic room as his vision finally came back. He set a hand on his lap and heard a crinkle. James raised an eyebrow and pulled a piece of paper from his pocket. “What’s this?” He opened it and read. Dearest James, When you finally read this, I hope that we will meet again with you being there when I awaken, healthier than when you went in. James, I couldn't try living alone. Especially not with Nanan. She fusses over me too much and all I wanted was to be with you, mon frere. Until that day, think of me as your one and only lily. Yours always, Lillianne He smiled as a weight lifted off his chest. "Lillianne. You beautiful, foolish girl. I swear, I'll find you...." He looked up and nodded to those who were nearby. James handed them his pistol. "I am ready. What must I do?"

Ghoul
The young man was from a time they couldn't even imagine. From a time before there was monsters roaming so much of the planet. From before walking outside the walls of the city resulted in death. He was a special case, frozen until a time came that they could cure his disease. How, or why he was frozen was lost in time.
Actually, all they really knew about this young looking gentleman was that he was from a time long forgotten, and he was really interested in finding his sister. So, one of the doctors suggested he become a Baiter, the funds they have access too would no doubt make such a search an easy thing, and the man agreed.
They gave him a moment alone with his gear, within which he found a note apparently, from some lass named Lillianne. This furthered his resolve to become a Baiter, for as soon as he was finished with it, he was ready to go.
They lead him towards the operation room, while explaining the details. He would be pit in mortal combat with a randomly selected core. Upon victory it would surge through his body, strengthening him in ways he couldn't imagine. It would also produce an incredible healing factor, which they firmly believed would easily handle the disease in his system.
However, they also warned him that dying against this creature meant death for both of them. There was no coming back, there was no do-overs. They made sure to stress this fact.
They moved on to explain that the battle field would be something his mind came up with entirely. It could be a familiar place, or somewhere he felt comfortable. They urged him to pick a place he could find himself fighting at maximum efficiency, given they had no idea how much of an impact his disease might have on his ability to fight.
As they finished explaining that up, they finished setting everything up. The doctor looked down at the man ready to undergo easily the most difficult test on the planet. Succeed or die.
"Good luck."

Ghoul
Turn 1
It opened its eyes to darkness.
Before it could help itself a giggle escaped its lips, though it was a warped a twisted sound. It knew what this meant. This meant it was time for a fight. Fights meant pain! Pain was exquisite! It couldn't help but giggle at the idea of embracing that all time magnificent blanket of pain.
What was better than pain though? Sharing the bliss.
It stretched its body as wide and large as it could go, working out all the kinks of being locked away for so long. It could feel the weakness from such a long period of containment. The sounds from it stretching were like that of an old leather coat being pulled almost to tearing.
About then it sensed them, whoever its soon to be opponent was, and it couldn't stop the stream of giggles that came from its oddly shaped mandibles as its head turned towards life time imprisonment, or death. Both of these options tickled the Ghoul in a way it couldn't describe. This meant one thing, this person was its soulmate!
"Oh can it be?!" It shouted out, it's voice shrill and easily described as feminine. Two of its many hands came up underneath its chin, and it squealed a high pitched sound while it's upper body turned back and forth in an obviously excited manner.
Suddenly the creature took off at full pace, it's mandibles opening wide to loose a long, slimy purple tongue that was dripping some form of green ooze as it trailed behind it. It's eyes took on a crazed light, as it sought out the only other presence.
"My one true love!" It shouted in glee as it found the man it was searching for. He was a small black haired thing, looked like not much more than a twig, but the Ghoul didn't care! This was its soulmate! Looks simply didn't matter!
"True love conquers all!" It shouted in response to thoughts only it was aware of, as it launched an attack towards his face with one of his many fists, desiring nothing more than to share the ultimate pleasure with its closest love.

He looked at the creature with a twisted, horrified expression. “You are far beyond ugly, my friend...” James looked around as the imagery changed. It appeared as Annecy once did, with it's pastel coloured houses and cobblestone roads. “Very creepy.... I guess it's fight or die from this point on.” James drew his pistol and readied himself to make a run for it. The only open area where he'd get a clear shot off would be Champ De Mars, the largest park in Annecy. They were currently on Rue Sommeiller. It would take roughly three blocks before he could turn onto Rue Jean Jaures. Then, he'd be at the park. Luckily, it seemed traffic was nonexistent. He fired one shot off at the building near the creature to distract it before bolting away. James focused on the run in front of him but his lungs hadn't completely thawed. He stopped, resting his hands on his knees and panting in vain. At that moment he began remembering more things, more times that he spent with Lillianne. They had went to Paris one summer and visited Rome in Italy the next. They had spent so little time but they had enjoyed it. James stood back upright and looked to see the creature was closing on him fast. He swore under his breath and took off running again, pushing as hard as he could with his still slightly frozen lungs. It wasn't getting him anywhere fast so he stopped where he was and readied his gun again, loosing two rounds at the creature, hoping one would hit. He watched the creature, not sure what would happen. More memories came back to him. “Jamie,” He heard his sister's voice. “Do you believe in fairy tales?” James chuckled and looked up from cutting an onion to see his sister with a pencil eraser in between her lips. “What do you mean? Fairy tales are fairy tales for a reason, Lilly.” Lilliy set her pencil down and looked at him seriously. “I'm serous Jamie. Faeries, dragons, the whole lot. Do you believe in them or not?” In order to appease her, he set the knife down and smirked. “I don't need to believe in fairy tales when I have my very own fairy living with me.” Lilly shook her head. “Smooth, you big doofus. I'm a fairy, am I?” They had laughed at the conversation for almost ten minutes. James smirked before starting to chuckle. His chuckle turned into a full out laugh. He lifted his head and laughed at the sky. “Lilly, you're out there somewhere. I'll find you. I swear it on my life!” He faced the monster with a look of determination before raising his gun at it once more. “Come! Fight me as the gladiators once did in the coliseums of Rome!”
As those first words left the mouth of his Senpai, the Ghoul couldn't help but stop rushing forward and blush heavily, which was an interesting sight, as its cheek area lit up a lovely violet color. Two of its many arms coming up to reside under its chin as it squealed in delight, its upper body twisting back and forth. "He called me friend! That's the first step to true love!"
About that point his partner in bliss shot in its general direction, causing the Ghoul to suddenly stiffen and turn to look at the nearby wall that had gotten shot. Now, looking at it for what it looked like, one might suppose the monster was terrified of having almost been shot. One could easily suppose that it was frozen in fear, disbelieving of the fact it had almost been hit by gun fire.
However, looking at its face one would immediately tell that was not the case. It was staring at the bullet hole with a hungry expression on its face. Not only was the Ghoul not even slightly scared of being shot, it actually looked upset at the notion that Senpai had missed.
It turned and stared after the male that turned out to be its soul mate, finding excitement thrum through its entire body. At first the Ghoul thought it would have to share the pain all on its own, but it seemed like Senpai was willing to do his share of the work too. This caused the Ghouls heart to swell, and the excitement to grow, it started curling into itself slowly but surely, as its body got tenser and tenser.
With a massive cry of "I LOVE YOU SENPAI!!" it shot off like a bullet, its body powered by pure love. It was so moved emotionally by the fact that its Senpai wanted to share the euphoric grasps of pain with it, that it charged full speed towards the male, even dipping down to use all of its limbs to power itself forward towards the man of its dreams.
As it was charging down the once police officer, the male fired off two shots while running away. If the Ghoul had to guess why Senpai missed, it's likely because he was running away and firing at a moving target. The Ghoul had knowledge of old school police tactics, and while on paper they seemed like great ideas, the actual practice of these ideas was very slim. Meaning that training was halfassed, results were shoddy, and very rarely was anyone decent produced.
Thus, it was no big surprise that the attacks missed, no matter how saddening that fact was to the Ghoul.
However, instead of deterring the creature, who was running forward with basically hearts in its eyes, and its tongue once more basically flopping about alongside it, it encouraged it. Senpai wanted to play! This was so exciting! They would experience the symphony of pain that was battle, then the magnificent pain of death!
Truly they were soul mates!
Within instants of the bullets being fired off the Ghoul was in range, its body unfurling in front of Senpai rapidly. "SHARE IN MY BLISS!" It shouted out with a cry of passion, thrusting it's fist forward with as much force as was possible, aiming to cripple one of Senpais legs
