Ramiel and Sverre

There was quite a mess laid out before Ramiel as he arrived within the now ruinous place where Team Rocket had been keeping so many Pokemon. It was good to see them being defeated by those they sought to keep captive but at the same time he could tell at a glance that the place was no longer stable. If anything it was going to collapse sooner then later, meaning that those within needed to be evacuated. Looking around he could see various groups working together to do just that, as for Team Rocket they seemed to be scattered and trying to escape themselves. There was a part of the zapdos that almost wanted them to fail... but he knew it wasn't that nice of a thought and as such he did his best to quash it.

He couldn't stand around praying for doom to fall upon the members of Team Rocket. He was here for a reason... and that reason was running around, screeching and otherwise making a mess within the chaos. Shaking his head Ramiel lifted his fingers to his lips, giving a sharp whistle that got the attention of the rampaging aerodactyl, drawing the creature over to where he stood, "That is enough, Sverre, it's time to go home." He said, giving the teenager a look. He was dirty, a bit scrapped up, but seemed none the worse for wear. He'd even found himself a rather powerful artifact didn't he? A megastone, huh? He wasn't sure what he thought of the idea but he wasn't about to reach into Sverre's mouth to try to take it.

Instead he merely motioned to him and said, "Come." And turned, heading toward the exit. Sverre, who seemed to be content enough with the mess his rampaging had made was quick to follow along after Ramiel. The zapdos had been taking care of Sverre for ages, ever since he'd found him wandering around after his trainer abandoned him, and he was the only one the aerodactyl listened to. As such he was only too happy to follow, especially knowing that they'd be returning home instead of to a cramped cage.

Petaya

Petaya's purple eyes went wide as Eilam came over to let him out, just as he'd hoped he would. Saved by an Arceus, he was really a blessed little joltik, wasn't he? How he wanted to tell everyone that he met from here on out about such a miracle! Of course that would only happen if they were able to get out of here he thought to himself, moving out of his cell to stand at Eilam's side instead, sticking as close to him as he could, even though it would put him a little underfoot. He wanted to get out of this scary place and there was only one way to do so, that being to stick close to someone as powerful as an arceus!

As they made their escape Petaya did his best to channel his courage, zapping anyone from Team Rocket that got too close to them. The moment they got outside he wanted to run away as far away from the members of Team Rocket as possible. For now though he'd stick with Eilam, seeing the arceus as his best hope to get out as well as his hero.

Devin

The big winter sawsbuck gave the helpful Angel one last look as he ran off, calling his thanks after the boy. He'd helped Devin to get to this place and now that he was here he was going to get Noble out! No matter what, no matter the danger, and regardless of the fact that the building seemed to be crumbling around them. Rushing forward the sawsbuck did his best to dodge around through the falling debris, occasionally kicking a member of Team Rocket out of his way. The place was a mess, everything falling apart, everyone running in all directions, and dust obscuring the air. It was difficult to navigate he realized, but he was sure that Noble's bright colors would stand out in all the dull colors of around him.

Surprisingly it wasn't the colors that first alerted him to the fact that he was near to Noble. Instead it was the keldeo's voice swearing. The loud proclamation of 'damnit' alerting the sawsbuck that he was nearby. After a bit of searching about he finally spotted him, down on the ground, looking as though he was trying to drag himself to safety. Poor thing he found himself thinking, dropping the axe he carried so that he could go to him, scooping him up into his arms, hugging him tightly, "I found you." He murmured, simple words that couldn't even begin to explain the feelings flowing through him. Such relief, to find him alive, to be able to hold him again, to talk to him. A part of him wanted to hug him like this forever... at least until something crashed down next to them, reminding him they were still in danger.

"AH! Oops... don't worry! I'll get us out of here." He said, turning around to start in the direction he'd come from. He had to get Noble to safety, far from the collapsing building and all the kidnappers within it!

Chloe shrieked as she heard the explosions. Everything is falling apart! Her hands shaking the spewpa clutched tightly at the coat of her hybrid rescuer, "Can we make it?" She asked in a quiet voice as he darted around members of Team Rocket. As a pacifist it truly broke Chloe's heart to see so much destruction about her. Team Rocket were horrible people...truly awful. None of this would have happened if they had just leff them alone. Why experiment? There was no need for this...

"We'll be fine." A chuckle escaped Tryce as he dodged through some of the debris. All of the shaking of the building truly seemed to be bringing it down. Keeping his gaze opened the hybrid made certain to freeze any locks or cages that he noticed. So far it seemed that the chaos had allowed most of the pokemon and pokehumans alike to escape. "A perfect ending to the day." He commented with a wry smile before jumping up over fallen furniture that was littering the hallway.

There at the exit he ran full speed. I'm sure the others are fine. At the thought sparks of electricity caught his attention and Tryce laughed to see Ilmari helping "Nurse Raxka" and some other pokemon out of the building. Good deal. Perhaps his plan hadn't worked perfectly, but they definitely had helped to cause this riot.

Slowing down he noticed a familiar figure darting towards the woods, "You should have said hello~" He commented sly towards Truffles before reaching the run, "But I suppose another time, kiddo." Winking mischievously Tryce jumped from the ground and unfolded his wings. Shimmering pieces of ice decorated the night sky in his wake as he twisted through the air. Before he disappeared from view Tryce paused and looked one last time towards Truffles. She's out safely, that's good.

"So where do you need dropped off at?" He blinked down towards Chloe who was shivering in his coat.

"A dance school in the city..." Chloe smiled at her rescuer, "I'm sure the Madame is worried about me."

"Alright then, just direct me."

"Su-sure." And just like that they were off.

"Does he truly enjoy leaving me to clean up after him like this?" Ilmari muttered as he managed to make his way outside of the buildings, "What do you think Raxka?" The whimsicott was determined to keep an eye out and make sure that all of the pokehumans and pokemon were safe. So far it seemed alright minus the building. Already the place was shaking itself to pieces and he could see sparks from the explosion lighting up the air. What a mess...

"I think they'll be fine." Raxka helped Libby to her feet and smoothed the meowstic's fur, "Do you have a home in particular as well, little one?" Slowly the pokemon nodded and Raxka smiled, "Okay then let me help clean you up from this mess and I can take you home later."

Still she couldn't help but to survey. Once more it looked like Team Rocket had truly made a mess. I should go and electrocute a few more. She sighed as she watched a few skimper away into the forest away from the pokemon. Nasty troublemakers. Though that guy looked rather cute...shaking her head Raxka laughed, "Now what? Do we just wait and watch the fireworks?

Ilmari shrugged, "I suppose so." After all he didn't want to leave until he made certain that everything was in the clear.

In her core Edith could feel the churning of prey around her. They weren't that far away, but all of them seemed so panicked...and it was then that she noticed just how bad this whole situation was looking. She raised her good wing to help cover Kole, enveloping them both in a semi-protective feathered shield.

Wrapping her arm around him to hold on, Edith kept all of her limited focus on shifting her wing so that it both covered them and yet didn't slow Kole down. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted a familiar shape, one that had her shrieking in rage, but Kole was moving too fast to stop now. Riff. He'd spotted her as well, had even given a cheeky little wave before disappearing down another hallway.

I'll kill him. I'll kill him!

The little litwick, so pleased with the destruction around her, was caught off guard when the entire facility seemed to collapse. She squeaked when a piece of metallic paneling fell down beside her, instinctively leaping back towards the two following her. That is, until the male took off at a run. In an instant she reached out and wrapped her little arms around his leg. There was no way she was going down in this place! Fun was fun, but you couldn't have fun if she was the one to be snuffed out for once.

Edith's outburst spooked her, but no more than one might get a chill when seeing something particularly amusing. Ooooh, that would have been fun! A fight, a fight, a real nasty fight! But too bad they had to leave...But she saw what the man looked like, and couldn't help thinking that if he survived her fun might not be over...

When they were out into the fresh night she disengaged herself, and toddled away from the frey. Play time was over! Time to seek out some fun elsewhere!

Edith, however, from her view over Kole's shoulder saw a miniature explosion take out a section of building. Smoke billowed up into the air, lighting the night sky in brilliant shades of crimson and gold. She sort of hoped it had taken Riff out, but Edith knew better. He was too much of a sneak for something like that to happen.

Still...She laid herself over Kole's shoulder with a tired sigh, allowing both wings to hang uselessly behind her. Tonight had been rough, but at least it was over.

Renee blinked a few times as she gazed up towards Fluff's chin and face, well he definitely filled out a bit since she last saw him, but with muscle and tone she was still registering the fact that it was the same Fluff that she met in the stuffed toy store, but a little more mature and filled out. She had to admit though she liked seeing Fluff similar in height as her and age.

She blinked and let her eyes roam down his arms, she closed her eyes this was not the best time to be checking him out and his growth spurt, she was hoping after this ordeal it would be easier. She opened her eyes and looked around as debris from the building were starting to fall, it looked like it was going to collapse. She really hoped no one would be seriously injured from it. "How are you carrying me? Am I too heavy?" she asked him curiously.

Brenny crawled out of the hole Tammy and his friend had made, and once out, hugged the ninetails briefly. "I thought I'd never get out," He confessed. Being caged had awoken a new fear in him; one of being taken. He wanted to get home! He looked to Humphrey, but now didn't seem like the best time for introductions.

He took Tammy's hand and led the group away from the cells. "Which way is the way out? I woke up here, I didn't get to see." He looked to both of the fire types hopefully.

~~~
Eliot felt, more than he saw the explosions. But rather than run in the opposite direction, he headed for the building. He entered. "BRENNY!" He called, looking around with urgency. The celebi had to be here! But where--wait. He heard a response.
"Eliot?"
He spotted the green headed boy then, with two fire types. For the first time since the celebi had gone missing, Eliot smiled. "You're alright," He reached to fluff up Brenny's hair in sheer relief. He was okay. He was safe. "C'mon. You guys too. This place is going to explode, or something."
Shadow turned when he felt the tap on his shoulder and was surprised to see the Onix girl, Frank. He had expected her to already be on her way out by then with how hard she had fought to escape her captors. What was even more astonishing was the words she said to him.
"You want to help?" he asked, trying to make sure he'd heard right. But she was just a child! He didn't want to put her in any more danger than she was already in. And she was already in bad shape from the fight she'd put up. Still, he knew they could probably have used all the help they could get. The stability of the building seemed to be more dubious by the second. Could he really afford to turn her down?
He didn't seem to be the only one questioning whether or not she should be allowed to help, either. Shadow noticed Havard regarding her and her scars with a scowl. Before he could ask the other teen's opinion on the matter, though, said other had brought out pokeballs and released several pokemon within. Was this guy a trainer? What had he been doing here, then? Why had he been allowed to keep his pokemon with him if he was a captive?
The ghost hybrid closed his eyes, putting a clawed hand to his temples as he shook his head. There was no time to question trivial things like that right now. They had a mission to accomplish and a time limit by which to do it. People were counting on them - people of all kinds.
When Havard addressed him, Shadow was glad to hear he would not be going after the Riolu alone. He was interested to note Havard still had two pokemon he planned to rely on, but even more so that the guy seemed to believe that the Onix girl should have been allowed to come along. The Rocket traitor had no doubt she would be helpful, but he had been worried about her safety. If the trainer seemed to think she would be okay, though, and she had the two of them to support and protect her, what could Shadow say against that? Besides, they were desperate and losing time.
"Alright, the three of us, then," he conceded. "Stay close. I'll lead, since I know this place best. I'm pretty sure they took him this way. They took some of the other prisoners down this hall when they were ordered to move them deeper into the facility." The Haunter-Gengar pokehuman spoke as he swept down corridor after corridor, checking signs or glancing at room numbers as he went. He didn't slow unless he failed to see Frank or Havard behind him, and once they were in his sight again, he increased his speed to make up for lost time.
As he went, he thought about the ones who now seemed to trust him or at least listen to what he had to say. Eilam and those two other girls, even the Chandelure kid... everyone was cooperating in this time of crisis and they were all helping each other out. Even the Reuniclus from before, who hadn't seemed to know anyone else that well, had cared enough to warn them to be careful while watching over the vulnerable Munna.
These pokehumans and even the pokemon they got along with...they all worked together as a community; a team that had more concern for each other and selflessness as a whole than Shadow had seen in all his time in Team Rocket. It almost brought tears to his eyes to think that these beings like him whom he thought had no place in the world had made and found places for themselves with each other.
All this time...he'd been wrong. They weren't just mistakes of nature. They could find their own purpose in life pursuing happiness the same as anyone else - human or pokemon. Maybe...maybe if they could find a reason to exist, then he could, too.
As he rounded another corner, Shadow nearly collided with a Dark Cresselia pokehuman carrying in his arms the glowing blonde Riolu teen they'd been seeking. It seemed the legendary had already beaten them to rescuing him from the Gliscor Rocket. However, they were still really far into the facility. Shadow looked up at the crumbling ceiling that threatened to give way at any moment. He wouldn't have time to lead them all safely out to the nearest exit. There was only one other thing to try.
"Hey!" he called to the Onix girl. He had to raise his voice to be heard over the parts of the building that were already collapsing. "I'm going to try to phase this place's structure along with me so that you guys can escape through it. But I can't phase the whole building and I can't hold it for very long, so we're going to have to hurry." He met her gaze. "There's probably going to be debris that cave in when I make the supporting walls intangible. If pieces fall, they'll break away from me and become solid again, so I need you to keep those pieces from hurting anyone. I know you can do it."
He had never attempted to phase anything so large before. Heck, he rarely phased even himself through stuff on account of disliking it. If he didn't try now, though, they might all perish right then and there and he wasn't about to let that happen without giving it his all first.
"And you!" the ghost called to Harvard. "If you and your pokemon could keep their way clear and get them out somehow when I make that opening, you'll all be safe. You seem like you have others waiting for you, so you can't disappoint them," he reminded the trainer. "You're not allowed to die here. Not you or her or them." He nodded toward the Cresselia and Riolu. "You have lives to get back to. So go and live them." Sharp, white teeth shone in a small, bittersweet smile. Not like me.
"Ready?" Looking to Frank, Shadow levitated a little to place his clawed hands on the middle of a trembling wall. "On three. One...two...three!"
With luck, the wall, the ceiling, and a little further beyond the immediate area surrounding Shadow would become transparent, flickering in and out of the physical plane along with the ghost teen before eventually turning invisible. The sky would show through, as would the earth under the foundation of the base, as the hybrid pokehuman did his best to make their obstructions intangible. His eyes were shut tight in concentration as he strained to keep the holes clear. Every few moments there was a flicker, reminding those who saw it that the view was very temporary.
The ex-Rocket didn't know how long he'd be able to last, but he prayed it would be long enough for the ones with him to make a clean getaway. He didn't know what would become of him after he lost the strength to keep that section of the base intangible. Maybe the walls and ceiling would fall in on him. But would he die? He was a ghost-type. Did that make him a real ghost?
Even if he didn't die, he'd probably go unconscious from fatigue. And when he went unconscious, his body slipped out of its physical form on its own and he ended up falling through floors and the ground. It was the fear of being caught in the Earth's mantle forever by its gravitational pull that gave him such a fear of sleeping or fainting.
Now, though...maybe it didn't matter. He had only ever known being a Rocket and now he had forsaken that. For what? For these other pokehumans; the ones that had shown him that maybe he did have a right to exist. He had always wondered if he had a reason for living as a ghost-being; not quite dead but not quite alive, either. And yet...by doing this for those he'd helped capture, maybe he could repay them. All this time he had sought a purpose for his existence. What did it matter what became of him after this now that they had given him such a purpose? He had managed to help save other lives. That was enough for him.
Belle, with the help of her new Spheal hat friend finally had arrived to Rocket HQ, only to realize that the building had started to fall apart! This was very very bad! Belle sat Atlantica on the ground at a safe distance as she didn't really want the small living ball to get into harms way. And she had a bag full of potions too, which should help anyone hurt, right?
"Hey, over here!" she shouted when she started seeing pokemon and pokehumans alike starting to move out of the building, waving her massive psy arms to gain attention. "I have healing items if you need them!" Belle was ready to help all she could if they wanted helped, that's for sure.
( This post made possible thanks to Dooma and her lovely poke-kids. <3 )
(Eclipse & Mitja, Rostek & Switch)
(First aid for anyone needing it!)
If Mitja thought she was going to get a response out of Eclipse, he was too far gone to give her that satisfaction. The light-footed movements he always made hid the weight he bore in muscle. He was large for a kid of his apparent age, but that weight only went so far. Still, being completely limp in her arms, all of that weight now bore down on her.
Switch could not help but watch as Mitja only complained about Eclipse. She did not move to throw him in the river like she said she wanted to do, and merely complied with Theo's instructions. That is, a human child's instructions. She could not keep a growing smirk from her lips as she turned back to Rostek and Rocío.
"Oh! I almost forgot. Switch, can you get in my bag and find that lid with the straw?" It took a moment for the farfetch'd girl to find what Theo wanted, then to close up the backpack. "Give it to her." Switch nodded and offered it to Mitja, letting her finish wiping the venom away from her battle-ready body. Meanwhile, Theo continued: "Sometimes that lid with a straw helps if it's too hard to swallow normally. Exchange it with the one on the bottle, then slide the straw along his cheek and hold his mouth shut."
Switch nodded. "All right. Rostek was right, we should hurry."
Mitja was forced down on to the ground and was holding Eclipse trying to lay him better. She could see Switch smirking and she tensed but knew they would be moving away. She did not thank the farfetcht’d as the straw and lid came to her but she did take it and moved to switch it out. She wanted to keep fighting she had so much anger to deal out and yet now she was watching Eclipse. However once the others had left her the whirlipede reached out and stroked Eclipse’s cheek. Why did seeing him like this actually make her sad. She moved to follow the human’s instruction and tried to get the potion into the fallen child, “It is better than a kiss transfer…what were you doing this for this time?”
Rostek watched what was going down and then moved off with Switch and Theo wanting to be help. He would use his brute strength to help shift the falling rumble around. “Looks like most are making it out.”
Eclipse's swallowing reflex allowed the liquid to go down until he awoke and it faltered, causing him to choke. He felt a lot better than before, still weak but no longer ill. He frowned in confusion as he looked up and found Mitja holding him. A happy smile filled his face and his tail actually thumped the ground. "So I wasn't dreaming."
The smile faded. If he had not been dreaming, then they really did fight and he really did lose. What rotten luck to have Mitja and Switch find him here! What he couldn't figure out was why she was helping him still instead of leaving him there or worse. "What now?"
- - -
Switch nodded in agreement to Rostek's observation. "Looks like most of them are all right. But I think we're going to need all of Theo's potions."
"Don't worry, I have bandages too!" Rocio was upbeat but the whole situation had scared her to her core. Some of the pokemon and poke-children looked powerful, but they had been captured anyway. Who could be strong enough next time? With Team Rocket there would always be a next time.
"You're always prepared."
Theo decided they would have to be prepared for anything "next time."
(Amit, Frank, & Risketi, Bürschli Maazel, Havard & Koujen)
(Reply for Kitomyx' Shadow)
Frank nodded when Shadow second-guessed her, though she seemed no more set on the task than if she had shaken it with a 'no.' She didn't want to fight. She didn't want to stay any longer than she had to. But who was going to watch the riolu if the others were fighting? She could definitely do that! Since the purple Rocket seemed to know everything including the direction to go, she followed and looked down at the shorter, cowled Rocket with curiosity. "You're pretty short for a human. Do you know him?"
"No." Havard's voice was his usual near monotone. It was difficult to hear him over the shouts and cries. "You're pretty tall for a child," he countered. His face was covered up by the mask, but his eyes betrayed his smirk.
"I used to be taller," Frank replied with a sigh. Nothing about her current form was right, except for her tail. "Who's left in your belt?" she asked. The chit-chat was to pass the time outside of the confines of her terrified mind.
Havard, despite his gruff demeanor, sighed silently and acquiesced: "Tuncay, a lunatone, and Dorian, a drifblim. I probably could have sent them with the others," he added with a frown, "but we might need them."
"Oh, so... you probably didn't need my help," the onix girl realized with dismay.
"You never know." Up ahead, Shadow nearly collided with someone. Havard slipped up against the wall to give them room (and Frank was easy to maneuver around what she could not move). His eyes widened as he saw Iah rushing past with Riley in his arms. That had to be the riolu boy Hazan had mentioned meeting a year ago. He hissed softly to himself. Had everyone else grown? That was irrelevent, however. He pointed in their wake. "That's the one."
Frank nodded, having watched the curiously glowing apparition pass them by. Shadow yelled at them, then, spouting some nonsense about phases of the moon. "I think we should follow them," she said, referring to Iah and Riley.
"Yes. You go first." Havard called back to the other boy in the Rocket get-up. It would seem that wearing that big, red 'R' meant nothing anymore. "Are you coming?" He did not wait for a reply. Riley had been his only reason for doing something this stupid.
He's in pain, one of the seeds murmured softly as they fled the building. Each seed that comprised Ufuoma's being was looking all around them, looking for debris, enemies, and other obstacles; they came from all angles, including straight up. The Rockets are fleeing, one remarked. Or helping, another replied. One looked up at their new ally, the reuniclus, concerned for her wellbeing, but seeing what she saw: Musharna? If Koujen was about to evolve, there really was nothing to be done about it. The floor bucked beneath them and flung several of the seeds into the air. The space immediately around them flared bright-blue. The move, Psychic, saved those that had gone airborne then nudged all of them where they needed to be: safely outside, and just in time. Hurry, Havard!
From deep inside the compound, the mewtwo teen growled a reply. He's already been helped! We're coming.
Bürschli Maazel was starting to feel the edict of the nightmare that the munna within her was casting. She was starting to feel fear and seeing things. She did not have time to respond as the ground bucked and rolled under them. She saw several of the seeds flying up and the flash as then were drawn back but in her distraction she was knock up into the air. She shot her arm out to try and catch herself before she flew too far and she felt a shift within her and as she caught herself she lost her hold of the munna and the poor thing went flying from her.
As Koujen’s limp body was flying threw the air the dark cloud swirled around him and he gave a cry as he broadcasted imprison to all though around him.
~~~~

Amit was rushing out carrying the Dilibird with him. He was not going to loose any more vials. The pokemon thief was just hanging in his grasp but then out of no where he found himself almost ran over by a large stone tail. He placed his hand on the back of the Onix, Fank’s tail and flipped over it. As he did his hold on the pokemon’s tail loosened a bit and he watched as a vail started to slip free. He hissed if it broke this onyx was going to be in big trouble.

Frank cringed when she felt the weight of the cacturne pivot over her tail. His weight was astonishing, considering his size and the sand coursing through his veins, even though it did nothing to harm her. Only her surprise caused her to falter. Oh, was she in the way?

She watched as the delibird in his grasp seemed to drop a vial full of an unknown substance. She knew that she would never be able to catch it in time, but reached out for it anyway. Her movements felt too slow, but then the vial's descent seemed to slow, ever so slightly. Then all at once she caught it and offered it to the strange spiked man and his avian charge. "I'm sorry... this is yours?"

"Onix-girl!" Havard slipped smoothly past the trio without acknowledging Amit at all. "Dawdling will get you killed, or you'll have to eat your way out." He hurried on without waiting for her to follow, just as he had with Shadow.

Frank's head dropped as heat rushed to her face. Surely everyone knew what an onix ate. But that did not make the quaking earth any less terrifying. "Um, we should go," she stammered.

- - -

Havard was nearly knocked to his knees as he approached the exit. Somewhere too near part of the building had collapsed, its shock wave hitting anyone unlucky enough to be anchored to the ground. He glanced behind him then, but did not see Frank or Amit. Perhaps they had found another exit.

Hurrying on ahead, he finally made it to the exit just in time to see Koujen's limp form soaring through the air. He reached for his belt and released a drifblim from its pokeball. "Dorian, can you catch him?" The blimp-like pokemon made a negative-sounding reply but hurried forward with a blast of Ominous Wind. Choking his way through the cloud of noxious haze, the mewtwo teen called out, "Koujen!"

Seeing the distorted shape of the drifblim holding the munna teen a mere inch above the ground, he rushed forward and with Dorian's help eased Koujen into the grass. "Thank you, Dorian. Koujen, I'm here with you now." He brushed the hair from Koujen's face. Sleep easy now or wake, but I won't leave you again.

(Richelle & Velvet)
(Reply for Moogz' Shade)

While Lucy had been freeing Velvet and Richelle, Eliam had freed one particular shiny hariyama. She had a very small part to play in this whole ordeal, but she had friends looking for her and another to save. Richelle spotted Shamira just as she stepped out of her cell. The pokemon was too large for a normal cage and her bulk was nearly impossible to miss.

A tearful reunion was cut short by a tremor and falling plaster. "Have you seen Chestnut?" Richelle grated out with a cough, holding up a set of keys she intended to use to open up every unopened cell she came across. Shamira nodded and lead the way to a cage with a rather peterbed-looking ferroseed. "Chestnut!"

Richelle carefully handed Velvet over to Shamira, who held her with equal care. While the hariyama got a happy wet-nose kiss, the Mareep-Archen girl knelt down and did her best to unlock the door to the cage. Chestnut shook with fear and excitement until they worked out an arrangement to carry her prickly body safely using Velvet's blanket. Shamira carried both small pokemon in her big, strong arms while Richelle unlocked more doors.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the compound, a fennekin-trapinch team were doing the same. Ken used her best fire-type moves and her strongest kicks to take out doors she could not reach the handle to. Campbell merely used Bulldoze to forge her own path. In the process, she made a touching rescue of the blindfolded and chained girl, Shade. She wished there was more she could do to help out this poor, abused soul!

Their path was partially blocked by the unmoving bulk of Shamira. At over seven-feet-tall, she would have been a lot more imposing if she had not been cradling the tiny forms of a swinub and a ferroseed. The delicate form of a girl with blue hair and feathers peeked around Shamira's elbow. Campbell chattered her jaw happily at the sight of so many freed pokemon and pokepeople! Then she urged Shade on her original course with a gentle nudge.

They were nearly free of the compound when a shockwave hit the ground beneath them. It hardly phased Shamira, though Chestnut's thorns pricked her arms and tiny trickles of blood began to well up. Richelle was thrown to her hands and knees, leaving her skin raw and broken. Another tiny form sailed over the girl's head-- Ken the Fennekin howled in her squeaky voice: "Come on, guys! This whole place is gonna come down any minute!"

Richelle did not even bother to try to dust herself off. She merely nodded and sprinted for the nearest exit.

Doctor Murphy managed to get out of the facility with the help of some of the Rocket members who saw him fleeing and finding this to be the most preferable means of getting out of there, than any other.

As he headed for one of the vehicles pulling away from the building that was collapsing around the various pokemon and pokehumans trying to escape the wreckage he held what little of his research he had managed to salvage and stared a long moment. So long he heard one of the team members talking about leaving him there if he didn't move it.

Finally, Murphy was easing into the car, the battered laptop held in his lap, ignoring the panicked plans of those around him. They were of no concern to him. Already he was planning and plotting. His research would continue, but on a grander scale. This could be accomplished, right?

His thoughts weren't on the building behind him, on his subjects that were struggling to escape, or to help others, but instead miles away envisioning a bigger, better, grander operation. A better hidden one. He would get his answers, some day. Some way.

This wouldn't be the last Dr. Murphy was heard from.
