"I kinda wanna see you knock your head on a doorframe." Otto murmured wistfully. Tall people getting hurt because of their tallness. Yes... "Uhm.... cause I got mad?" He asked innocently, starting up his game with the tell tale beeps of a video game. "To be fair, I was aimin' it at the kid that was buggin' me, but he was like right in front of the teacher, and he ducked..."

Chance just stuck out his tongue, very maturely, in Otto's direction.
"If you were going to throw something," he said musingly, running his fingers over the spines of the books. "Wouldn't you have picked something, I don't know...a little less obvious?"

"No way!" Otto insisted earnestly. "I wanted to hurt the guy, not scare him." He was super mad, okay?

Chance gave a snort of laughter and finally pulled Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone from the shelf. He padded back over to the couch and flopped onto it, stretching his legs out across it and lying on his back, the book propped up on his chest.
"Throwing desks is bad, Otto," he said delicately, as he flipped to the first page.
A pause, and then -
"Please never throw a desk at me."

"Well yeah, I know that now." Cause you know.. he got expelled for it. Chance flopped onto the couch, the convenient L shape making it so they could have their own half to themselves as much as they wanted. Likely one of them would move closer at some point. That point was not now; Otto had custody of a large sum of pillows, after all. "You're in luck. I don't own a desk." He murmured, fiddling with his game. He had one earbud in connected to an MP3 player. The faint sounds of hard rock could be heard if one was quiet enough. "I use the laptop here or on the bed, usually."

Chance was not about to try and take Otto's pillows from him, because it was kind of like trying to take a cub from a bear: filed under things that are not smart to do. Instead, he just made himself comfortable with his book and peered at Otto from around it.
"Okay, well," said Chance, pointing at Otto. "No throwing laptops."
A pause.
"Pillows are okay though."

Otto slowly smirked at his game. " Nice try." Trying to subtly collect pillows by enabling Otto to throw them at him. Clever boy. But not clever enough to fool the clever Otto... of cleverness. All hail the King of the Pillow Pile.

He wiggled a little on the couch, hiding his smile behind the book.
"You're a s**t," Chance complained, but it was said with affection.

It was likely half an hour to an hour later when Chance would feel something bop his head. A pillow had been tossed. But who would commit such a crime? Surely not Otto, who was innocently eating some chips and playing a game.

Chance took said pillow and tucked it happily under his arms, on his stomach. He didn't say thank you, but he did flash a knowing smile in Otto's direction, lips curving upwards in a smirk.
About an hour after that, Chance had switched positions, and was now lying the opposite direction, with his head at the spot where Otto's feet were, his pillow still in his arms.

"You can have it 'yknow." Otto murmured, his toe poking lightly at Chance's head. "That book. I got three sets of the same series for Christmas a few years back. It's kinda ridiculous."

He craned his neck back to look at Otto, halfway through the chapter on Harry going to the Dueling club at Hogwarts.
"Why do you have three sets?" Chance asked in amusement. "Is this the only thing people could think of to get you for Christmas, or something?"

"I have no idea." What compelled them to buy him Harry Potter, he wasn't sure. Honestly, he was always surprised he was given gifts at all each year. "I'm just surprised they thought to get me books at all." A pause. "Or maybe they think I don't read n' are just makin' funna'me."

"That's an awful lot of people to make fun of you," said Chance mildly, flipping over onto his stomach and catching one of Otto's ankles, absently resting his hand on it, the book still in his other. "Maybe they thought you were like this Harry kid or something."
He turned another page, squinting at it, then glanced curiously over at Otto.
"Actually I've never really asked, I know you have books, but do you like reading?"

"I don't hate it." He murmured back. "I can't do it for hours on end, but it's a time filler. I mostly read when I was a kid cause I liked pretending magic existed. Now that it actually does, it kinda kills the buzz."
