Otto would consider this. The massage chair. An investment in self care. Noted.

"Mmhm. Yeah, I do." He felt better. Much better. "Better get outta here before our fingers shrivel into raisons, though." Peeling himself from the majesty and bliss of the massage and care of Chance's hands, Otto finished rinsing himself off.

Satisfied, he left the shower for Chance to finish up, getting himself dried off in the mean time.

"Yes, I suppose you're right," said Chance with a regretful sigh as his hands fell away from Otto's shoulders. The water was nice and warm and leaving it was somewhat of a regret, but they couldn't stay in there forever. He rinsed himself off and then flipped the shower off, stepping out to borrow one of Otto's towels, rubbing at his face and neck.

"Well, now I feel a helluva lot better," he said, with a satisfied sigh as Chance wrapped the towel around his waist, reaching for his clothes again. Fortunately, he'd only changed into them a few hours prior, after coming back from the infirmary, which meant they were still clean. He tugged on the sweatpants, pulled his shirt over his head and then slung the damp towel over the side of the shower to let it dry.

The bandages were picked up, and held out as Chance padded back over to Otto.

Otto changed back into his PJ pants, but not much else, still busying himself drying off his hair. The towel was finally tossed to the wayside in favour of getting Chance's neck wrapped back up.

"If it's too tight or too lose, then you're on yer own." Otto mumbled helpfully, taking the bandage in hand. He began rather gingerly, before sucking it up and just wrapping it snugly so that it stayed on. "I mean, it'll probably heal pretty quick. Even the bite Maebe gave me is startin' to fade." It hadn't, but it would. It stung like Hell and was not nice to look at. But it would heal.

"Sometimes I wish Deus had a paper work Division. Like.. the only thing about Death that didn't make me wanna die was paper work. You'd think it'd be the worst part, but no. The boss is. And the missions." He hated doing undercover s**t, or having to talk to people and get to know them in order to gain intel. It felt fake. Felt wrong.

"I mean, we still wouldn't get out of days like last night. But still." Sometimes he liked a lack of adventure.

He stood obediently still to allow Otto to work, Chance tilting his head up a little to make it easier. "I trust you to do it just fine," he said mildly, though he winced a little at the movements. It was hard not to, considering how tender his neck still was, but he didn't want to make Otto feel even worse about it than he already did.

"Sorta like the cops that don't go out on drug busts, but stay at the desk and fill out the forms?" Chance asked, blinking slowly down at Otto, hands reaching out to rest very lightly on his waist to steady himself. "I didn't know you used to be in Death. But I suppose you just mean that you'd rather have a quieter time, instead of always being flung first on the line?"

Otto nodded. "I was in Death for a long time. I grew to hate it. And eventually I just ran from it to Sun, without really letting myself understand what I was running from." He finished up, lightly patting the bandages absently, before letting his hands fall to Chance's chest. "Maybe.. maybe I just wanna help from the background, rather than..." He sighed, shrugging his shoulders.

"Thing is? Sun is all front line fighters. And I ain't a great fighter. Like.. at all. I'm more capable at making a swift escape in the thick of things." Which was a trait he'd learned well in Death. "But.. this is the whole I dug myself into. I can't be wishy washy and change my mind all over the place. Instead of running all the time, I need to lay in the beds I mae proper like."

The bandages felt nice and secure around his neck, maybe a bit tighter than he would have preferred, but Chance wasn't about to complain, because it meant they would stay on. He lifted a hand and idly smoothed a few stray strands of Otto's hair away from his forehead.

"You're nimble," he said. "And you've got good instincts, that's what I've heard makes a good Sun. But I don't really think it's being wishy-washy so much as you haven't quite found your niche in a division yet. Maybe there's a happy medium to be found somewhere between Death's paperwork and Sun's front-lines."

Chance wound his arms around Otto's waist and drew him closer, bending to press a gentle kiss against his lips.

"But it's good that you want to face things head on, rather than run away."

One thing he didn't mind about his size, like Chance had mentioned, was his nimble and agile abilities in a battle. Or running from danger. It made fleeing terrible opponents that much easier for him. He could slide under things without knocking his head, and get into spaces others would find themselves stuck in.

Maybe one day he would find his niche. For now, he was stuck doing the things he'd thought he could do at first, and now found himself disenchanted with.

Otto nodded after the gentle kiss made his worries ease just a little lighter. "Yeah. But wanting to do it and actually doing it... I'm still getting there." He leaned his head against his shoulder very briefly, letting himself relax and enjoy the clean shower scent from Chance's body.

Then, with a final breath in to resolve himself, lightly nudged him back a step.

"Okay. Lemme show you how I play drums." He turned, taking his abandoned shirt and pulling it on before leaving the bathroom.

"One step at a time," said Chance mildly, running a hand up and down Otto's back reassuringly. "You'll get there eventually, right? Can't jump all the hurdles in one go, after all, it would be too easy."

He smiled down at him as his arms fell away, and Chance padded after Otto after the bathroom, looking quite pleased to finally be able to hear Otto play. He made his way over to the living room and sat himself on the couch, shifting so that he could turn and watch Otto, Chance drawing his knees up to his chest and wrapping his arms around his legs.

"Ready when you are," he said, resting his chin on his knees and smiling broadly.

Otto sat at his drums, and a feeling of familiarity came over him. Drums were second nature. They were an extension of himself and his creativity. He picked up his sticks, spun them in hand as he thought of what to play.

And play he did.

Nothing made Otto fell more excited, more energetic or more accomplished than when he played his drums. It was one of the few passions he held near and dear to his soul.

Everything about Otto seemed to shift when he picked up the drumsticks. His expression, the look in his eyes, his entire countenance; Chance's jaw fell open a little, eyes widening as he watched, and he couldn't quite tear his gaze away.

This was a side of Otto he'd never seen before, and it was pure passion and magic.

Chance kept staring, lifting his head up to hear better, expression fixed into one of utter awe.

Otto always smiled when he played drums, because he was just that happy. Just that at ease, and just that into everything he was doing. This was his element. What he was born to do. A dream that never came true, but he still had a deep root with that never died.

When he finally finished, his smile remained. He ran his hands through his hair after dropping his sticks aside, his temples damp with beads of sweat from exerting himself.

He looked up, having completely forgotten Chance had been watching. "So?" Drums weren't everyones thing. But...

Chance was silent for several minutes after Otto stopped playing, his expression transfixed, lost within the sound of the drums that still echoed throughout the room. His lips were slightly parted, eyes focused on Otto and the drums.

He seemed to snap out of it after a second or two longer.

"Holy ******** s**t," Chance breathed, tilting his head sideways to lean against the back of the couch. "I mean, I knew your hands were magical, but this is a whole new ******** level of magic."

"Ain't just the hands, man. Though maybe it's all the drummin' that made me so damn talented." He smirked, playing like he was all that and then some. He stretched out his arms, feeling really good and happy. "I can play more if you want." Since Chance seemed so enthralled, and all.

Eventually there would be movies

Chance was indeed enthralled. "Well, I could have told you that, but for now, your hands are what I see moving around, and that is pretty ******** amazing," he said, running a hand absently through his curls. "Man. I mean, I might be biased, since I haven't heard too much drum music, plus it's you playing, but that was ******** amazing, it's like you were in a different world or something."

He settled back comfortably into the couch, eyes sparkling with interest.

"Please," said Chance, gesturing to the drums.

"Yeah, I get really into it. I forgot you were even here." He said bluntly with a laugh.

He gave a nod, and eagerly got right back into the drumming. He played until his arms were sore, until his feet were numb. Song after song, because when he was drumming, nothing else existed.

Finally, he broke a drum stick, and tossed it to the side. "Okay... I think I'm done for the day." If Chance looked, he would see the stick was added to a pile of snapped sticks.
