He gave a small, humorless laugh in return as he returned Finn's wave, noting that Ripley was in tow. He wondered if all three of them would get taken over by their own particular infections by the end of this. Unfortunately, Owain wasn't there to give his annoying, positive support. Neither was Chel able to be contacted for her own brand of casual sarcasm. Rep's nickname for the duo, then, would probably quickly become appropriate.
"He has daggers," Jack informed the man. "I have bandages, which might mean ******** all here. But they're there."
Overhearing Lucky attempting to explain everything, Jack turned to the group and added, "If this is the same strain from previous missions, then there are several things to look out for: a rise in paranoia, the inability to distinguish friend from foe, and finally fully turning feral and violent. A scar or bite mark that turns black or appears decayed is your indicator if the person is infected." Or it had been thus far. He tried not to think of the large one stretching across his face and neck. "Of course, this may be a completely different situation. Keep on your toes."

CourtyardHe had barely managed to stagger his way into the courtyard when somebody was there, right next to him, grabbing his arm the moment he took just one more stumbling step forward. A pale face turned to look to the man next to him, and he gave him a weak smile, always attempting to be friendly even if he felt like death. "I am not sure. I was just sleeping and woke up and...." He paused, and finally, for the first time noticed something very odd indeed. "My weapon, I can not hear her. And I do not feel well. Are you having the same problem?" [ courtyard ] Finn's response garnered an oh-so-mature middle finger salute. Ripley couldn't find his words at the moment, and the sludge of nausea in his head and chest weren't helping.
He weaved his way through the crowd, pausing here and there to let the more panicked through and using those moments to check to make sure Finn was still behind him, and every chance he got, he checked his phone. It seemed consistently down, dead, unable to boot up. He gave up on that venture quickly, deciding to not waste his time on something that was already proven to fail.
Amber eyes scoured the courtyard, spotting a bunch of hunters he recognized, but one he focused on, thanks to Finn's pointing him out. Jack, the tall one with green hair, next to the kid he always assumed was eating sour grapes. Not that he was one to say anything, really. Or think it, in this case. He had been about to make his way over when the other man mumbled something to him, making him pause for a moment, and finally turn to look at him, searching that queasy looking face.
"You know I can't promise that." He replied after a moment, letting the words hang between them for a little longer before adding: "But I will try, if you do the same."

Quinn - Courtyard Apparently Quinn had walked up at the right time, even if Lucky hd not heard the question it seemed Quinn got the best response so far. "So....wait." He frowned. Something was looking for the island? While not surprising, what WASN'T looking to kill and eat them at a moments notice, he had to wonder how Lucky knew this. "So this thing Found us and is spreading some sort of disease on the Island, and thats why the alarms are going off." "Pardon my question, Lucky, But... how do you know this?" Information wasn't usually tossed so readily into their laps this way. While he did trust the other man (they had worked together before), he wondered where this information had come from. "How long has this 'thing' been looking for us? Is there any way to stop this 'disease'?" Was that really why the alarms went off? [Quinn 50/50 virus: 3 ]

Dorms (In Nellies) Cain hadn't been able to sleep, instead he was up drawing the figure asleep in the bed when the alarms went off and lights went dim. A sit down of the sketch paper and Cain moved, only to pause as the lights went out. For a second the teen was silent, then a hand moved to push against a pale leg. "Nelly wake up, we need to move." Something was obviously going on, Cain stepped back picking up some clothes and tossing them on the bed to her before pulling on a shirt he could barely make out. Unluckily he had picked up one of Nellies and now donned a pink shirt with something written on it. Zipping up some shorts he glanced to the girl again and frowned, Jojo? The witch wasn't answering, wasn't laughing. There was nothing. Silence. Under the dim glow of red Cain felt vulnerable but tried not to show it. Instead he reached out to help Nellie up if she wasn't already, "lets go see if we can find someone who knows whats going on." Cain had to withdrawal his offered hand instantly almost as it slapped to his mouth as the sound of gagging came. A rush of nausea hitting him and bringing a shudder over tanned body. "Ugg.." Cain tried to straighten again, shaking it off before a ringing started in his ears. "Do you hear that?" The now blonde, freckled faced tanned hunter asked, pushing up the end of bright yellow square glasses. Virus Counter: 8 HP: 40/40 -----------------------------------------------------------
CourtyardLilac had woke with the alarm, generally confused and feeling terrible. Aprulz wasn't scolding her or making rude comments, which in turn let Lilac know something was instantly wrong. Aside from the silence it was clear Aprulz wasn't present. Not wasting any time to try and summon the woman instead carefully got out of her bed, head spinning as she went about to pull on some jean shorts to go with her brown tanktop. A tie back of long multicolored hair into a ponytail and she was out the door with a pull of her moon coat. What was going on? People were scrambling all around and the dim red alarm light of the hall furthering Lilac's confusion as she tried to make her way out of the basement dorms. Once out Lilac found herself in the courtyard, a hand curled around her stomach as she tired to inhale deeply to calm herself, counting to seven. Everything would be fine, everything would be fine. Lilac tried to force a smile through her terrible feelings, looking on at the other hunters and the vines that confined them to the courtyard. CHANCE - COURTYARDChance gave a shrug, wincing a little.
"Not entirely sure myself, really," he said, but at the very least he'd been able to find someone he knew within the throngs of people. "But I feel like s**t, and by the looks of it, I'm not the only one, so we've gotta assume that something seriously ******** up happened if we're all out here."
Dawson was staring at something, and Chance followed his gaze to see Maebe and - well, it looked like a slumped over Otto - against one of the walls. A small amount of relief trickled into Chance at the sight of him, and of Maebe, and he tapped Dawson's arm, jerking his head (a mistake, dizziness sweeping over him) in their direction.
"Come on," he said. "Let's go make sure they're all right."
He padded over, face pale, and offered a smile.
"Hey, fancy meeting you guys here," Chance said weakly. "You two doing all right?"Quote: Chance:Virus Counter: 9 HP: 50 ARORANGI - DORMSRelief washed over him in droves, because Lydia was here, and she was safe, and she was fortunately not looking quite as terrible as Arorangi currently felt. He reached out for her hands and met them halfway, tangling their fingers together.
"I am all right, do not worry," he said, which was not quite true, but that was beside the point. He gave her a weak smile.
"I would kiss you, but I do not want to risk anything," said Arorangi teasingly, his voice a little hoarse. His hand tugged hers towards the door. "Come, aroha, we must get out of here, there are many more hunters that are gathering, and we should go with them. Stay with me so that we are able to not be separat - "
Halfway into the hallway, he slammed into someone unintentionally, Arorangi giving a slight gasp of surprise.
"Please pardon me," he said breathlessly. "Are you heading outside as well, you should come with us, it is not safe in here!"Quote: Arorangi:Virus Counter: 9 HP: 40

Her face flushed, and Mimi shook her head. "I can't either. I miss Dae..." While her weapon did boss her around a lot, she found it comforting, in a way. Having Daeris scold her for being silly and scared of the dark was better than crying. The blaring alarms certainly didn't help either.Quote: MimiLocation: Dorms Virus Counter: 2 HP: 40/40

CourtyardHe made a mental note to possibly stagger over to where Jack was later, when the other man didn't look quite so busy. He was probably brainyacking it up over in nerd patrol central, anyways, and Finn's head didn't exactly feel like it was up to dealing with droves of speculation at the moment. He did manage to catch a little bit here and there though, and was able to piece together a picture in his mind of what was going on. "Okay, try then. And let me know if you start to feel off. "Oh I'm just peachy, dear!" Nora replied with a slightly manic smile. "Nevermind that the alarm's going off and I can't hear a damn thing from my weapon."
Stormy froze, checked for herself, and grew cold. "I can't either."
"Brilliant. Put some shoes on, we need to get out of here." Evan had already moved on ahead, and she was eager to get the hell out of dodge herself.
As Stormy moved about, she tried to check her phone, maybe message her brothers or her cousin. To her dismay, however, all communications were down. "Phones aren't working either," she reported quietly, and Nora growled a sigh.

[IN COURTYARD]
Rep nodded, daggers were a start and bandages might well be useless, they didn't have shields and all he knew about the bandage tech was that it was in some way related to accelerating shields to assist healing. They might be back to gold old human triage, which most people were woefully unprepared for, ******** great. "Hope they ******** work." he said to Jack.
Leslie got a snarl. "I'm guessing you don't have a ******** shield shithead, you are infinitely ******** strangle-able, don't have me make you the first ******** casualty tonight." The runic dagger got brandished vaguely in the other man's direction. "And maybe you should ******** find out if I can summon Tracey or not. Call me that shite again and you ******** will."
Unwilling to start a proper fight when they were in the middle of an emergency he turned his attention to the discussion at hand, a wild and distant sort of blankness coming over his features.
"If you get sick, the only solution might be to put you down for good. The more infected there are, the more danger people are in. The grail might only stop when its ******** fed enough. If you see some b***h called Samantha around, leave her be, she had the tech keeping this s**t in check at one ******** point, she might have it still."

[ courtyard ]"I can't hear Haruko, either, something's definitely up." Quinn had found them in the courtyard, and at his question Shiloh nodded towards Lucky, who at the sight of him had given him a squeamish look, and Shiloh was willing to bet that it wasn't due to the virus the Life hunter was describing - at least not entirely. "Something? Is it something we can defend against? Something a little more specific than something, Lucky!" It didn't take long for him to remember the familiar groove, and while it was familiarly annoying, he begrudgingly knew Lucky and therefore had some semblance of trust in the man. And unfortunately for them, Lucky's hunches were usually along some vein of correctness. "What happens if we get sick? How contagious is it?" His eyes didn't leave Lucky, but his free hand searched behind him for Ian, making sure he was there. Luckily for Lucky, Shiloh's other favourite person beat him to the answer. "Excuse me?" he said loudly, head whipping around. "Samantha? LUCKY!" He hadn't even gotten married yet, and already the honeymoon of ignoring things on Deus was over. There was something really painful about the way Dawson looked at her, and then at Otto, and then - just looked away.Because she wasn't even important enough to check on. Where the <********> was Taym and his cigarettes when she really needed them. Chance, of course, ruined both of their plans by bringing him over, and Maebe gave the man a weak smile. "No. This guy almost wretched all over me. He's sick as hell." And when she got a good look at Chance, she realized he looked just as bad, and it started to click. Otto wasn't normal sick at all - there was something going around, something worse than flus and sniffles. Something that made her back straighten with a new sense of fear. "I'm fine though. Just trying to watch over him and make sure he doesn't die. Did you die, Otto?" She asked the slumped figure, checking his breathing. He was asleep, but his heart beat just as hard as ever. "Nope. IAN - COURTYARDIan was too busy leaning on Shiloh to pay much attention to what Lucky was saying, except he managed to catch most of the gist of it. His arm was looped around his fiance's shoulders, Ian's head slanting sideways against Shiloh's hair, and he let out a low whistle. He really, sincerely, didn't want to have to deal with this, not when he was just on the cusp of getting married.
"So basically, there's something on the island that got in that's making us all sick," he said, wheezing a bit. "Well, that's just fine and dandy, the hell are we supposed to do abo - QUINN IS THAT YOU?!"
He reached out and snagged the other man, reaching to ruffle his hair and maybe slap him a few good times on his shoulder.
"Jeez, you're alive, I'm so glad, the hell you been, man?!" said Ian, but the pressing matter of staying alive was weighing heavily on their shoulders, and he kept his arm protectively around his fiance, Ian's head going back to leaning against Shiloh's.Quote: Ian:Virus Counter: 7 HP: 50 GALE - DORMSThe look he gave her bordered on annoyed, though Gale wasn't about to start an argument now.
"Yeah, I kind of got that, actually," he said, and then stopped abruptly when the last part of her Nora's registered. Jinhai's voice, usually a prominent and integral part of Gale's thoughts and everyday life, was stopped, the silence louder than ever. It felt bizarre and wrong, and he sucked in a sharp breath, trying not to overthink.
"Okay," he said, pinching the bridge of his nose as he slipped to get his boots. Gale tugged them on and then reached for Stormy, trying to make sure that he didn't lose her in the chaos.
"Let's go, is everyone else outside already?" he asked. Quote: Gale:Virus Counter: 8 HP: 60
