[ Enter - Jason Kenneth ]

The friendly banter he had shared before seemed so far away, now replaced with horrible screaming and shrieking. Jason had never felt so frightened in his life, running with the others to get clear of the monsters and swinging his sword about clumsily to keep the shadowlings at bay.

Nearby he could see knights were being slaughtered eaten alive, their blood gushing like water, and everywhere he turned he saw the dancing flames of war. He felt like he would go mad with fear, vision wavering as his emotions threatened to overtake him.

Then the order was given to fall back. He wasted no time, running as fast as he could until he was inside. inside he could see only a fraction of their original number, and he went to go lean against a wall and slowly slid down it, shaking with fright.

He stayed there until the three knights gave them orders to move out. He wondered where he should go, not wanting to go on the front lines but needing to do something.

Then he saw Yuki move out with Percival, and quickly made a decision. He jumped to his feet, running after the group.

The Gold knight apprentice was not inside of the drama when the Darkness began its invasion. She heard the loud noises but she didn't go out, she chose to take care of her sick horse instead. It was infected with Dysentery as well, after they went to a king-searching quest. She was peacefully helping her horse to drink some water while someone barged into the place. She stared at the man, displeased.

"What're you doing here? Don't care about the stupid horse, the shadows began their invasion, come out and do something to help!" She gave him a cold look, but after patting Honey who laid down to rest, she followed the man outside. Bow on her hand, she was thinking to shoot the man and took his mobility for a while if not some minutes. She dismissed the thought after seeing how bad the situation was.

The mixture of different noises made her uncomfortable and she frowned in reaction, the main gate was closed. Standing at the sheltered corridor, she listened to the words of the three Great Knights. Her immediate action was not consider which way she should go but where the remaining Great Knights were. It was clear that all of them had gone through some keen battles before they arrived there.

She sighed. As long as she would like to kill some shadowlings, seeing how many followed Morgan like little tails completely changed her mind. She then considered the two options left. Yu would prefer the healing squad more than the defensive squad to be honest. However, she taken the following into account, the possibility of her not poisoning the stupid male injured was well below 10%, she decided she had to follow Percival. It would be better if she could make them shut up with her potions and medicines.

A small smile appeared on her face when she thought of the suffering faces of those males, and then when the group moved, she followed silently behind.

Cadence ran her heart pounding as she dashed forward into the great hall following the other knights and apprentice knights in the mad scramble for safety. The sound of the door closing behind her and locking the monsters out behind her sent a momentary feeling of relief flooding through her. She wasn’t sure who had called out the order to retreat but it didn’t matter as soon as she had heard the words she had taken off towards the safety of the castle. Looking around she could see just how few had made it compared to how many there had been before. She could see the fear on the other’s faces and feel it start to creep into her. Seeing all the dead knights that where being carried sent a shiver down her spine. If the shadowlings had killed them so easily how could she hope to stand against them?

Hearing some of the chaos settle down as three of the great knights approached Cadence pulled herself together and tried to look a bit less frazzled as he listened to the three leaders and their strategies for dealing with the current situation. Which one should she follow? Running away from battle wasn’t going to help her become a better knight but at the same time she was still hesitant about rushing headfirst into the mass that had taken over the courtyard. Following Gawain and helping to heal the injured would probably be the safest path.

Percival’s suggestion of leading a defense sounded like the best option. It would be safer than rushing headfirst into combat, but she would still be out there fighting. If the defenses on the castle fell then the castle would be overrun with monsters and there would be no safe place anyways right. With a firm nod to herself she set off after Percival to help with the defense, if the castle fell both of the other two group’s hard work would be for naught.

[ENTERING]

Retreating into the castle was the first order of business as soon as the shadows had started attacking, and Marosa was none too pleased with how they had gotten in in the first place.

Clenching her teeth, the redhead listened to the three as they gave knights the option to go with one of them: Offense, Defense, or Healing.

It wasn't a hard choice for Marosa. She wanted to prove herself, and the best way to do that was to go on the offensive. She'd always been a bit hot-blooded anyway.

In silence, she turned to follow Morgan, already admiring the woman for going on the offensive. Why had she chosen to hide herself as a mere boy, anyway?

If she'd had her memories still, she would have remembered the reason....

[ENTERING]

Radley had never been a fighter.

Looking at all of the others choosing immediately, Radley found herself thinking it over for quite a bit, not really sold on choosing to attack or defend. No, she found herself gravitating towards healing others, even though she felt that she really couldn't do anything.

But she could try.

Shaking her head and smoothing back her hair, Radley slouched a little as she followed after the one that had spoken about medicinal herbs, wanting more than ever to please someone... but unsure as of how to go about actually doing such a thing.

Before she made her final decision, she stopped at the door and took a look - a good, close look - watching what others chose and why they chose it. Some had passion in their eyes. Some had hunger, and others... they seemed to have a mix of emotion in their eyes that she couldn't quite place, but felt like she wanted to understand, but was too afraid and shy to ask.

Radley wanted to know those feelings, and not be afraid of asking or letting them flow out. She felt she was a mouse for sure, always scurrying away at the first sight or sound of danger, but a part of her also felt that she'd survived this long just by doing what she felt came natural to her.

But oh, how she wished she could break out of that mold, just for a few hours, for a few moments. Moments. Was that really so much to ask?

Shaking herself out of her thoughts, Radley watched for a moment longer before exiting out the door to follow the healer, intent on giving the best she could.

[Nellie - Entering/Exiting]

Was this it?

Nellie couldn't help the despair as it swelled from within and threatened to overwhelm her. They were powerless to defend themselves from all that much lest retaliate. And just those mere seconds had already cost them a great majority of their numbers. Was this the end for them, Camelot and the human race?

Shuddering at the images and the cries of the decimated and dying that still lingered in her mind, she looked up at the three Great Knights Morgan, Gawain and Percival when they stepped forth to lead and instruct those that remained on what needed to and should be done. She could still fight. Only problem being that she wasn't sure if she could maintain her form and ensure that her arrows found their mark given her current state of mind. She was probably better off tending to the wounded instead and that was exactly what she intended to do, steeling herself inwardly as she went after Gawain.

[ Enter Verusha ]

The chaos was consuming the air, making it almost near impossible to take in a spare or fresh breath. One felt like they were choking just trying to scramble for their lives as the shadows invaded, and the fire tore through like teeth of their own. It was just like what'd happened at home... just like that horrific night...

Verusha was panting, and resting his back against the inner walls of the safety he'd somehow managed to make it to. Hearing his comrades around him quivering, trembling, and stammering in absolute fear, he kept his own head bowed, and eyes closed to try and keep his usual calm demeanor held tight. There was no point in panic. There was no time for fear. Those were weaknesses he wouldn't allow, or stand to keep him shackled.

As the Great Knights stepped forth, only then did his pale white eyes lift from their veil to look to the trio, like the beacons of hope they were. As they spoke the roles they would take to combat the invasion, Verusha listened and listened well.

But he didn't need to, for long. Staring intently at Morgan, he could see the fire in the other mans eyes, the strength and power that pulsed from him like a warmth of its own. He didn't need to think twice. This was the man he'd follow into battle.

A small whimper left her in the midst of the dissonant crashes, screams, and various hisses and snarls of the shadow monsters. Chaos was not conducive to a meek mind, and truly that was what Piper possessed: for all her bravado and bluster and sass, on the inside she was coated with wet paper. Her initial reaction was an impulse to just run, but that wasn't becoming of a knight at all. Why had she joined in the first place, then, if she was a coward on the inside? Maybe she didn't want to know.

Morgan's bloodlust scared her off from plunging into battle. Gawain's stern call for aid made her nervous (she didn't want to catch dysentery again...). All that was left was Percival and the ramparts, and so she bowed her head and followed the rest, hoping she could keep up and not drown in the sea of darkness surrounding them.

Everything Quillan feared was happening all over again. Around him, knights took action against the shadows, but the boy was frozen on the spot. Around him, people fell to the ground and were consumed. Quillan heard a voice yell to retreat to the great hall, and in a manner unbecoming of a knight, the boy scrambled for refuge.

When the three great knights arrived at the hall, Quillan knew for sure he wouldn't be able to join Morgan in the fight. He chose to help Gawain with those who seeked medical aid because he was sure he could be of help there. He quickly followed after the knight and others who'd chosen the same option.

[Tommy]

This was a lot more than the young man had bargained for. The darkness was everywhere, thick, overwhelming, the fire not even enough to hold it back. There were knights shouting, a surge of bodies pushing, and he had no choice but to ride that wave, confused, flustered, slightly panicked as they all made their way to the gate. But would they even make it in time?

He had barely been pushed through when the gate slammed shut behind him with an air of finality that was cringeworthy. There were still others out there, and though he likely did not know any of them personally, it hurt his heart to think that they all might perish, that they all probably would perish.

With his crossbow in hand and his eyes darting about, everything inside of him screaming to find some sense of order in the chaos that surrounded him, it wasn't until he heard the booming voices of each knight speak that he finally began to feel a little bit of inner calm.

Yes, the defenses. That was where he belonged and where he could help. It was his duty, after all, as a knights apprentice, to do his very best. He would follow Percival, and do whatever was necessary.

With everyone going their separate ways, Thomas jogged along to keep up.

She was still out of sorts, still lost. The loss of memories, to Nergui, equated to a loss of self. Personality remained, but it felt like a shell. Hollow and decorative, and nothing more. She'd assisted where needed, lending a hand to the cause, but it was an automatic thing, almost meaningless.

Until the shadows broke through, bore down upon them, and with them brought terror. If it had been chaos before, that was nothing to the situation now. People were fleeing, Knights were bellowing orders left and right, until finally one voice cut through the lot to reach her.

Fight.

A call to arms. Gold eyes blinked, a dreamer waking from a long sleep.

Shoulders squaring, she made her choice, following Morgan's command and making her way away of the safety of the castle and out to face the darkness head on.

[ENTERING]

Kari leaned against a wall as the shock of the situation caught up with her. Everything had happened so fast that she was only now beginning to process what she'd seen. All the time that she'd been training, she thought that she would be ready for anything. Those... things... that had attacked them out there had driven into her just how wrong and naive such thinking was. So many had been slaughtered before they even knew what hit them. It was nothing short of a miracle that she hadn't been among them. She wasn't ready at all.

The call of the three great knights broke through Kari's thoughts. Each one gave out a speech detailing their respective tasks. Kari mulled over her possibilities as she slid down the wall to land in a sitting position while absently clutching her spetum in both hands. Fighting with Morgan didn't seem to be an option for her. She would only be a hindrance right now considering how she balked at the shadow creatures that had appeared earlier. The same could be said about Defending with Percival. She didn't feel ready to face the hordes of enemies that had ravaged their group so easily, not when she was still reeling from the initial attack. That only left the option of aiding Gawain in his effort to heal the injured. That felt like something she could do even in such a frazzled state.

Standing up and pushing off the wall, she made her way towards Gawain to receive her first orders.

Their safe haven had turned into a hellhole in just a matter of minutes.

Cold dread washed over her as she unsheathed her sword, but the scene before her was overwhelming. The orders given to fall back, she tugged Radek's reins backwards and her mount obeyed without a sliver of doubt. Perhaps he too, was terrified of the creatures before them.

It was something she would not care to admit. There was fear coursing through her veins and it was an emotion Marzena did not favor. Gritting her teeth, she watched the three Great Knights (narrowing her eyes slightly at Gawain), before she made her choice and followed Percival's lead.

It had nothing to do with her dislike of the Green Knight; she was not much of a healer nor a caretaker in nature. Others could handle that, while her priority right now was to keep the castle safe and prevent their home from falling.

It was pure chaos everywhere. All around him, Aiden could see fighting, death, and monsters of nightmares. It was hard to think around the terror that had risen thanks to illusion shattering like fragile glass. He was distantly thankful that his body was at least defending him automatically against any foe that opposed him. Even if he had no earthly clue just what the foes really were other then shadowy creatures. You could fight off one monster only for two more to take it's place and it was very taxing. He had just fought off something with tenticals when he heard the order to fall back to the Great Hall.

The red eyed knight started to fall back with the other knights, though he went slower so he could help defend anyone who was getting attacked while running. Once they were in the Great Hall he frowned heavily at the evident loss. So many had fallen in battle outside. How were they going to be able to come back from this? How would they be able to win against foes like this when in one battle their numbers had been greatly reduced? He didn't have any answers to the questions and all he could do was hope the Great Knights knew.

When said Knights appeared and started to talk, Aiden's attention snapped to them quickly and he listened attentively. They didn't offer answers, nor promises of victory. Instead they gave tasks to keep everyone working, keep everyone from spiraling in despair thanks to having too much time to think about their odds against the creatures. The green haired man straightened up and pondered just which Great Knight he would follow. Which was the choice he should make? Where would he do the greatest good for everyone? Which one, which one?

Morgan would be fighting against their foes head on in the Courtyard and would need those able to go one the offensive. After the Courtyard was won then it would be more fighting else where as they took back the castle. Could he find the strength to go out there and fight, and then keep fighting?

Gawain would stay here and help heal those who were wounded in the first battle. He was the Greater Knight that Aiden followed in the first place and healing was part of his oath. But could he really just stay here when he had the ability to help out else where? Could he just stay and help out here only to see fellow Knights leave for battle or come back wounded?

Percival would be defending and adding more defenses to the castle. He would need a strong backing to keep their foes out and keep from losing more ground to these creatures. If they didn't have enough help then it wouldn't be long for them to be over run. He briefly wondered if Makayla would be with the Greater Knight's group.

Thinking of Makayla made him look around the Great Hall to see if he could find her anywhere. After a few moments he realized he was putting off the decision that he had to make no matter what. He took a deep breath then looked at Morgan. Gawain may be his leader, and Percival may need a lot of help, but Morgan needed him more. He would need strong, still able followers into this battle so they could take back what belonged to them. He gripped his spetum tightly then started to make his way over to the group gathering around the Greater Knight.

He would fight for his new home and his comrades. He would fight for his new friends. And he would not lose.

Chaos. It ate all his attention, made it hard for him to focus on anything but the shadow monstrosities around him and the horrifying screams. He drew his sword because that was the only option, pushing the monsters back from him with heavy swings.

The ground shook and something intensely bright shot past him. The fire made the shadows reel back, which was good enough to let him breathe, just a little.

"Fall back into the great hall!"

Chris immediately obeyed, happy to back down from this particular fight. The number of injuries he saw as he passed was staggering. He even helped to drag one downed knight to safety. The weight of the fear around him was palpable, making the hair on the back of his neck stand up. It was almost reassuring, though, to have solid orders from the great knights.

He followed Percival, hoping things became more organized.
