She smiled softly, breathing out relieved to have found someone at least to talk to for the moment. ""I'm glad! Ah --" the doe looked over to the acha announcing things, it was almost about to start, she was rather nervous. Though the game was about 'killing' and 'hunting', two things she was actually.. rather used to, though not really very cheerful in doing -- it was more the mingling she wasn't used to. But! She puffed her chest, psyching herself even with all these other kin around --- oh goodness, was that a tree that moved?! "I'm not sure exactly what to do," she admitted, chuckling, "But what a gathering this is, so many others are waiting to start. I hope it's, er, safe." Araucana LMAO sorry late reply, and it's okay, bare trees is so nice she doesn't know the difference LOL

Merry Wanderer shook his head and gave a laugh. Prancing lightly in place, "If all the family showed up, it would be a rather boring game! Of course you and your siblings are always welcome in The Den."
Then he was off, counting the number of players. Best not to give the other players the idea that there was some sort of favoritism going on (though he did give a quick bump of nose to cheek to Peep, she had helped raise him after all). After one last round of mingling and observing the players, he retreated to the fringes and to prepare his opening speech.
Almost time to begin.

"This is a story of survival, of hunting, and of disguises. You've each been given a role to play, so play it well." Merry Wandered let the smile drop from his face before beginning, "Our stage is set: wolves walk among their prey, disguises keep their murderous natures hidden. Though they are vicious, their numbers are small and they cannot risk revealing themselves."
"During the day, the wolves must play prey, but they rule the night with their claws and teeth. If the prey want to live, they must learn to work together, but they are afraid and fear makes them easy targets," he looked out ominously at the gathered group of players. "Our story begins now, the sun is shining."
"It is day and, though there is no blood on the ground, all our characters know that something is coming. There will soon be blood in the air and better their murderers' than theirs," he bowed his head and backed away from the center of the grove to take his spot as observer.

The 24 hour-ish day round starts now. You have until Merry Wanderer's night opening post to discuss and cast your votes.

The game was... begun? Snake Flower blinked at the kin around her, feeling an eerie sort of chill settle within her stomach that she wasn't quite sure was to call. She felt so, unprepared; yet excited! No one had said anything yet, most were just looking at their neighbors or the kin across from them; each countenance so different from the next. Oh, how would this ever even begin? How to choose a predator among prey? When she speaks, her voice is a quiver. "Wh-what now? How do we start? How do we- how do we decide?" Surely the other kin around her would want to think about their decision; to discuss it? Wasn't that the first step to be taken, into these mysterious waters?

Blood? Murderers? Giveforward frowned and was reminded of her nightmare where she had found her sister dead. This was no dream, nor reality; it was acting, he said. And yet it did nothing to make her feel better. Not even a little bit. She might actually prefer the dream where she'd wandered until she'd crumbled to dust. (Just a smidgen.) The quavering question turned her mind to the now. It was time to play the game. "That's a good question," she nodded at the doe who had spoken. Then stilled. "I don't know."

Although he was loathe to admit it verbally, Flesh was woefully ignorant in the ways of this game. While gears began to creak rustily in his mind, eyes beneath heavy scales inspecting the game's other participants, a wonderful little doe spoke up to voice her trepidation with deciding on a vote. With an audibly disagreeable *POP!* probably from a knee joint, Flesh stepped towards Snake Flower and inhaled deeply her scent. This aged dragon was not as impulsive of a creature as he once was, and would take his time deliberating his vote.

"I suppose the first one would be the hardest, wouldn't it?" Acknowledgement proved only to embarass the small flower, and she withered now that eyes had turned towards her. "I'm sorry- I shouldn't have spoken first I don't know much about this game, really, I-" Her babbling ended rather abruptly at the sound of a loud *POP* that could belong only to bone. A dragon stood before her now, and when he leaned in to breathe her scent; Snake Flower let out a tiny squeak. Perhaps she shouldn't have come, after all. Perhaps this game really was a bit too much for one so unused to others.

She might not have played the game before, but the idea seemed fairly straightforward to her, as the acha buck explained it. There were prey, there were predators, or wolves, and only the kin themselves knew which they were, for now. Keeping secrets might be tricky, but the how of the game shouldn't have been confusing. "We figure out which kin are threats, just like we would if we were really trying to stay alive. Which ones of us are dangerous. Which ones aren't." She considered Flesh and the creepy -- or odd, or both -- way he sniffed the other doe. "And which ones just want us to *think* they're dangerous."

Well... that was that, then. Trouble looks around her at the other kin gathered and wonders how, exactly, they're supposed to figure out who is who. After all, they can't reveal their roles to one another, now, can they?
"I suppose that's the only way, isn't it?" She glances at the others gathered around, taking in their faces, their countenance with a calm sort of scrutiny, and the smiles faintly. "This should prove interesting."

And with a simple announcement, the game was begun. Sage hoped he'd have time to get cozy with a couple of these does during gameplay - he'd totally spaced on actually courting anyone in the pre-game hubbub.
"The first few days will be difficult," Sage said with a nod. "With little to nothing to go on, we can only vote at random and hope for the best... but it is better to vote," he added. "As tragic as it might be, it's better a small chance at killing a wolf before they reveal themselves than definitely leaving them all alive."

Swamp Trees took in the rest with some wide eyes. So far it seemed like nobody noticed her, but that probably was not true. For now she was just trying to figure out each. The dragon was a bit strange to watch, but so was the tree buck. Now there was a buck that could blend in with the swamp here. For now she wasn't wanting to draw any attention. Nodding with what the doe was saying, Swamp Trees fully agreed. Two more spoke up as she was thinking and made her heart skip. "All true. So..." This was harder than it sounded. Mainly since she didn't really know the others and now she would have to pick one?

"If you all would heed my word, a vote today would be absurd," The Once and Future King intoned, trotting back from her father to join the others. When she glances around, she offered smiles- no one had left the game yet, and thus, there was no need for suspicion. They would have strength in numbers at the start, so the reasonable idea was not to evict anyone yet.
"The wolves have not yet done their harm, So while we're susceptible to charm, I don't think there's yet cause for alarm."
The doe paused, then laughed to herself.
"But then again, I sound suspicious! You all most likely find me vicious. I tell you all, I'm not a threat, I hope you come to trust me yet."

Snake Flower seemed to pout when the doe with the rhyming voice began to speak. Briefly, Snake wondered if the other kimeti girl always spoke like that or if she were simply getting into the eeriness that this game seemed to leak. Either way, The Once and Future King was an odd one, definitely... but Snake Flower wasn't suspicious of the way she spoke. She was more suspicious of what it was she was saying. "B-but if you truly weren't a predator, then how could you trust anyone?" Snake Flower baled when she realized her words might come off as a bit uncharacteristically hostile, but still she continued; eager to get the game moving. "When you're prey... you can't afford to trust... after all... since the one who you think is on your side very well may be the same that will be feasting on you later... that's why... that's why my first vote will be for The Once and Future King!"

He couldn't help it, he chuckled softly at all of the confusion he overheard. It wasn't unreasonable, no, but they would all need to come to some sort of decision. Nonetheless, until one was reached, he would be amused. After a moment, he spoke up. "Nothing to guide us in this choice, so far, and nothing to lose by choosing... But everything to loose by not."He glanced at the doe who made a comment about those who would want others to think them dangerous. "And surely, in a game like this, wanting others to think you dangerous... is a good way to lose your chance to go further, a way to be marked immediately as 'wolf', not prey? But perhaps I'm just seeing things through... rose tinted light." His tone was delicate, and relaxed. He glanced over at the dragon, for a moment, considering him with interest.

Blooming Sunrise blinked a bit as the game was explained. This game didn't seem so difficult! Though she figured that the hard part was going to be guessing who was who. She would have to be a part of this discussion for sure!
She hopped over to see the others, it was certainly going to be best to talk to the others at least! "Hello all..." She smiled.
