Eostre expected more of the same from the wheel, but instead she hit two panels that allowed her to choose the quadrant and the troll. She grew blue in the face, realizing this was her perfect opportunity to do something... unexpected. She quickly checked her gloves, pulled her hood down and checked her hair. She didn't want to be scruffy looking or anything like that, clearly.
To be honest with herself, Eostre knew she'd been hiding her feelings for a while. She never expected that she would develop a crush on somebody at all, let alone someone like this. She liked to think herself clever and slick, a two-faced sneak who could do anything she wanted with total control. But her pump biscuit quickened when she saw her, and she could feel color rise into her cheeks when she thought about... flushed things. She could fake a face easy enough... and maybe she could make it seem she was cool and detached, the way she liked to be seen. A flirty smile here, a quick touch there. She could do that.
She sauntered up to Odette with a smile. "Are you busy right now, Miss Cygnet?" she asked. The redblood had been quite popular at the booth from Eostre's glances, with wrigglers as well as other teenagers. She was a bit jealous, but she knew she was much better than any lowblood child riff-raff that talked to her.
Kimbley Kitty obviously eostre is choosin some flushed quadrants with odette!!

Sinter had expected to get a reaction out of Odette from the get-go, but he had to admit, she was more animated than he had anticipated. It would have been cute if he didn’t find her wildly suspicious. Sinter found levity in his own childishness. Perhaps the Bloodfestivities were getting to him.
Still, it was out of Sinter’s character to be purposefully rude (for an extended period of time, at least). He pulled away from Odette with a sheepish laugh and hands held up in a placating gesture. ”Just keeping in the ashen spirit of things.” It was technically a hate quadrant after all.
”No hard feelings,” The feelings, if anything, were mushy and unpleasant, but otherwise harmless. ”Hence the joke. I see things seem to have resolved themselves.”
Sinter felt he was testing his luck by sticking around, but he genuinely was happy to see Odette’s situation improve, considering the state things were in the last time they’d met. Unsure of what to do with his hands as Odette busied herself behind the counter, Sinter leaned over and plucked a rubber swan from the nearby pool.
”Oh!” Sinter hadn’t expected to actually win anything. He picked up a pen from the counter. It was something he could use, no less. (Though he couldn’t help but wonder if putting one of the cute plushies on the Juggalo booth’s counter would help cancel out some of Tamiya’s terrifying décor.) He clicked the pen a couple of times and tucked it into his vest pocket.

It seemed that all Keionx could do was be afraid ever since the events in the cave. Afraid of herself, afraid of not being herself, afraid of the world, afraid of being alone... Keionx didn't know if it was or wasn't 'like her' anymore.
”I would.” she said haltingly to Odette, ”I'd... I want to talk.” It was only when Odette pointed out how un-private it was did Keionx realize that it was public. Too public. She flushed, this time to her ears, and nodded. ”R-right. Yes. Private.” she nodded again, for good measure, realizing – again belatedly and after the fact – that Odette's hands had been on hers for a long time. So what? What of it? What did it matter? Did it matter?
”I... shall come back. When it is quieter.” she said, glancing askance at the purpleblood and the redblood arguing over... a swanbeast. ”Later... then?”
~~~
Keionx was a little later than she intended, but Odette was apparently elsewhere. Where, Keionx realized, she had forgotten to ask. So, she attended to the swanbeast pond instead.
She plucked one of them out of the water and stared at the sticker on the bottom. And then at one of the big plush moonscouts.
She'd just won one. She'd wanted them, and she'd won them. But which? How could she choose between her heroes? She couldn't. She just couldn't.
"I'm not wrong! You are!" Lorata hissed, giving another sharp tug on the plushie. How dare this girl sabotage her and then try to play the victim!? The seadweller grit her teeth angrily as Aerona called for help, caught between the surety she had that she was in the right and the fact that the other lowbloods here had probably all been in on it. So, even though everyone should have been on her side, she couldn't count on them to be. She bet they wouldn't dare try to hurt her though, not with MeduMa here, and so she didn't let up.
Something was wiggling in periphery, though, and Lorata risked a glance without loosening her grip. Another plushie? That one was hers? Her eyes narrowed at the yellowblood, considering how on the level she might be, and then widened as the adult's voice went low. She was so startled by just how angry the woman looked that she nearly did let go. As Vremea composed herself, though, the seadweller's eyes slid back to Aerona and then down to the plushie they both still clutched.
Alright. They wanted her to let go so they could give her another plushie, fine. She would let go. The seadweller pulled one last time, as hard as she possibly could, and waited until she felt Aerona do the same to counteract before she dropped it. Lifting her chin, she turned to take her plushie from Vremea. "Thank you."
She was giving her a prize. The yellowblood was giving this do-nothing a prize. Aerona gritted her teeth so hard her jaw hurt. This wasn't fair. She was just playing with her, after all. Sophitia would give her an earful later for being so forward, but -- but!!
Aerona found herself embarrassed at her loss. If Lorata wasn't prizeless, it was as though Aerona had given up her own toy to her. Angry tears beaded in her eyes. And was she still pulling? Lorata gave the toy a sudden sharp jerk, and Aerona nearly lost her balance. Fine then. With all of her strength built into one tug, Aerona pulled back. Lorata let go.
The redblood stumbled backwards and crashed down on her rump. She shrieked with pain as the tingling of the hard ground shot up her back, and looked up through swimming vision. Lorata was there. Claiming her stolen merchandise. She filled up her field of view now with her smug air and disgusting sense of self-righteousness. Aerona dropped her plushie and shot to her feet. She was close enough that she only had to take one step before drawing her arm back and releasing a fistful of pent-up anger, punching Lorata directly in the face.
In no time at all, Sophitia was pulling Aerona away. They had to go, now.
