Zakhav had proven to be an intriguing character, and it was easy to imagine Apollo enjoying his company the next time they met. He'd have to get in contact with him within the next few days, of course he'd have to take the initiative to text him first-- he had been the one to ask for his number, after all.
With a smirk still plastered on his features Apollo lifted a hand in parting and watched as Zakhav left the pokemon center, his eyes lingering on the automatic door for a few seconds more. A loud, obnoxious coughing resounded throughout the room within the next second, and he looked down to find all three of his pokemon looking at him-- Sylvia's unamused. "What?" Neither offered him an answer, though his starter quirked an eyebrow at him. "We got a new pokemon." he spoke, as if that had been his goal the entire time; not a priority, obviously, but it had been a goal and one that was eventually achieved.
Sylvia simply rolled her eyes, displeased to have wasted precious training time with training, and without another word headed for the door. They'd gotten distracted and it was up to her to get them back on track. Apollo watched her and waited until she was halfway out the door before putting the Rotom's pokeball away-- he'd meet the pokemon at a later date-- and waved to his other pokemon to follow him out.

Through self-election Sylvia became the leader of their group, her confident stride lead them farther into the heart of the city and with an ever-vigilant gaze kept an eye out for potential opponents. She gave the occasional gaze backwards to make sure she had an actual group to lead and found that only once the other three weren't following her, and that was when Ceti darted off to collect something that had caught her eye and came toddling back, hands above her head, to hand Apollo an odd item that only he recognized.
An Exp. Share, all that pre-journey research really was starting to pay off. Tossing out Iris' pokeball he released the buzzing Combee, who stared at him with an emotionless gaze that quickly became wary when he approached him. "I'm not going to hurt you." he gently assured, and after a bit of arts n' crafts managed to actually give her the item. "It'll make you stronger without putting you at risk." he explained, though he wasn't sure if he even understood her; he hadn't been able to get a good feel on her ever since capturing her.
"Ya wantin' ta get stronger, sonny?" Apollo jumped as an unfamiliar voice spoke up from beside him and in the same moment his back tightened he turned on his heel to face the stranger: a hobbled old woman, and by her side was Sylvia, who was more than pleased with her 'find'. "Why, Ah've got just whatcha need!" Her bright blue eyes, the only thing still youthful about her, peered up at the man and grinned at his curious expression. "Now don'cha go doubtin' mah words, boy-o! Ah know just tha place ta send ya! Free a' charge, a' course."
Colored him intrigued. Apollo quirked an eyebrow at the woman's words, and they only raised further up his forehead when she placed a knobbed hand on his forearm and eventually wrapped around it. "Nah Ah know a strapping yung mahn like yaself wouldn' deny a little ole lady, yer a gentleman; Ah can tell, us prettah people are always tha kindest." The woman took his shocked silence, and then later his hesitant nod, as confirmation and without waiting began to hum an old hymnal, its words only remembered by her-- and even she forgot a verse or two.
Apollo only had enough time to return Iris before a strange feeling came over him, a light-headedness that eventually spread throughout the rest of his body, from his pokemon's startled cry he could only guess that they were experiencing the same feeling. A flash of light flood his eyesight and just as quickly vanished, leaving him in total darkness and in that duration of time he was teleported.

Well that had certainly been... a rush. Apollo pressed his forefingers to his temple in an attempt to ease the oncoming headache that, he was quickly finding out, came with teleportation. The man groaned and opened his jaw, switching it from side to side, and when the building pressure began to decrease he began to take a look around at his surroundings. They were back, from what he could tell, and conveniently placed right in front of the Pokemon Center. Apollo made sure he had all of his pokemon, including his newest addition, before he walked in to have Sylvia and Kahn healed, and after some thought Mona as well.

After he had his pokemon healed up Apollo decided to take a look over his PC, obtaining two new pokemon had reminded him of the few water-types he'd caught earlier. Only the Froakie he'd given Zak had seen the outside of the PC and considering the fact that he already had Brooke, he didn't need anymore water-types, let alone the twelve he had in storage. A frown etched itself across his features as he scrolled through once he realized he had no true idea what to do with them. Maybe Zak would be interested in another pokemon, but he couldn't very well give him all of them. He needed to figure out what to do with the rest then, but before he could get any farther in his planning his XTransciever went off, alerting him to his text.
Apollo pulled his eyes away from the screen to place them on the smaller one, his previous frown turning upward into a slight smirk when he saw who it was. Putting the decision making process off for now the musician turned to begin sending out a reply to Zak; and here he'd thought he'd be the one to make first contact.

While waiting for Zak's reply Apollo went back to his PC, going over the few options he had for clearing it out. Of course, there was the obvious: just set the pokemon free, but there was a bit of a waste in that. There was the GTS too, which sounded like a good idea to him. He didn't know much about the trading system, so some research was necessary, but then came Zak's reply and... well his attention shifted once more.
Apollo's eyes widened at the response and a slow grin appeared on his face, a horrible, too wide of a smile that let all who looked upon him that he was incredibly amused; and how couldn't he? Oh Zak... he certainly knew how to keep things interesting. Shifting himself to lean against the counter, his fingers fluttered across the screen of his device as he typed out his reply, though stopped when another message came in. So it'd been a 'typo'? How unfortunate...

Just like before, it didn't take too long for his wristwatch to vibrate and alert him to Zak's reply. Maybe he'd just caught the guy at a good time? A lull in training or perhaps he was just bored, either way, he greatly appreciated his quick response. If not just for the entertainment value, but the fact that he could figure out how to give one of his water hoard members away. Apollo scanned the text and then turned to look at the PC screen, Mudkip, huh. Well, he had two and after a quick check he found that they were identical in every way, save their gender. The last pokemon he'd sent Zak had been.. a male, the only male Froakie he had, so he'd switch it up this time. Zak hadn't stated he a gender preference, and as far as he could tell gender didn't factor into battles, unless you were dealing with the few select abilities or moves that targeted gender.
With the pokemon decided Apollo lifted his wrist up to his face-- he'd heard somewhere that craning your neck down wasn't good for the body-- and began typing out his response.
Glad I have your interest, hopefully I can keep it.
He'd have to remember to look up what exactly that nickname translated to, there was no reason to be flattered over a name that could very well be an insult. That'd have to be the next item on his itinerary.

Apollo reviewed the message once more, reading over his own words and then pondering just how Zak would react/respond to them. It'd be better to just wait and see instead of thinking them over, and with that he sent the message. Afterwards he turned to look at his pokemon, who had grown fidgety just standing there. "Go outside and train," he instructed. "I'll be here for a few more minutes, and join you when I finish, so make sure you don't go too far."
Sylvia gave a nod, already used to this sort of laissez-faire training, and with a c**k of her head had the other two pokemon follow her out. Finally! They were getting back into the swing of things.

With a light stretch Apollo set to transferring the Mudkip over to Zak, holding back a light yawn as he watched his water-type number go down by one. One down, eleven more to go. The bright-haired male stretched afterwards, one hand grasping his wrist right above his head, before he turned to reply to Zak. Their messages had shortened tremendously, which hinted towards the end of their back and forth. That was fine by him, he'd enjoyed their brief stint of flirting/trading but he'd noticed how much of a horribly great distraction texting Zak was. It was nice, but he still had pokemon to train.
Before he replied, however, he made sure to check the translation of that little nickname Zak had given him. The result caused him to chuckle lightly and Apollo shook his head good-naturedly. Kitten, huh...

Well, that was the end of that. Looking over his message Apollo almost erased the very last part, it certainly made him laugh but then again that was just his sense of humor, but his fingers were faster than common sense and, without any edits, he sent the message.
Meanwhile, Apollo's pokemon had found their first pokemon. Sylvia looked the bug-eyed rat over once before she shook her head and turned away, knowing for a fact that this pokemon wouldn't provide much of a challenge, thus leaving the Patrat open for either Kahn or Mona to take. The latter took up the challenge, though to call it a 'challenge' was a bit too generous, considering the fact that she'd defeated in just one move. Mona seemed pleased, however, and looked at the her hand in awe. "Verily!"

Apollo pulled his arm up to rest against the PC and with his right hand he typed away on the machine, deciding to go with his GTS idea and sending off a few more pokemon. There! That'd certainly made a difference, and although he still had a few pokemon left to find something to do, at the very least their numbers had gone down a bit. That made him feel better, he didn't like the idea of all those pokemon being cooped up in a machine. He could only hope that these pokemon went away to good trainers, though the GTS' near anonymous system certainly didn't guarantee that. You just knew that a pokemon was being given to someone else, you weren't given the luxury of being sent a basic profile of said trainer.
Apollo was still thinking over the idea of sending pokemon to strangers when the group of pokemon came across their second pokemon, which Sylvia took out without thought. After Mona's strange outburst Sylvia now gave the Riolu the occasional side-long glance and Kahn simply shook his head. Mona didn't seem to care. Besides that, however, the three seemed to be getting along rather well.

It was only once they were in the city did Dianna set Huey down onto his feet, ruffling his hair gently in a gesture he was positive was meant to be taken positively. Huey brushed himself off gently, murmuring a word of thanks to his pokemon, before he took a deep breath. Well.. that had certainly been odd! But even a hailstorm of nuts wouldn't damper his fighting spirit. Before he took off to the gym the blonde took a quick pit-stop at the nearest department store, purchasing a few items, and after some thought taught Minerva and Beep moves from the various TM's he'd collected. Although he planned to allow Rags to battle the entire time, it was just nice to have a few pokemon with strong moves to act as back-up in case things didn't go as planned, and he knew from experience how often that happened.

Rags gave a cheer, hiked up his loose skin, and led the group into the museum, not faltering once at its appearance, and after passing through that section of the building made a beeline for Lenora. "Good afternoon, Mrs. Lenora," Huey greeted, remembering his manners and bowing towards the older women. She looked up from her book and smiled gently. "I've come to challenge you to a battle!"

Lenora returned her watchog with a wide smile, despite the fact that she'd just lost. "Seems my theory on you was correct. You're quite a talented little boy aren't you? I'd say you have the basics down pretty well at least, so here's the basic badge to prove it." She chuckled, handing Huey the badge with a smile. "And here, you can have these disks as well, I'm sure you'll find good use of them. Keep up the good work, okay?"
She grinned at the boy and ruffled his hair, a bit of her motherly side showing in the gesture before taking her leave to go heal up her pokemon.

As Rags came teetering back to him, his depleted health making him unsteady on his feet, a slow grin blossomed Huey's features. "Thank you, Mrs. Lenora," he murmured and ducked his head down when his hair was ruffled, subtly hiding the color of red that plastered itself across his cheeks. Talented.. well, maybe..
He took his winnings with a grateful nod of the head and watched as Lenora walked away, leaving him alone with his thoughts and pokemon. The child turned a thoughtful glance to Rags, looking him over to check to see if he had the strength to carry himself to the Pokemon Center. His body was battered and he blinked sluggishly from time to time, weaving on his feet; he certainly wasn't in any condition to be walking, even if it was a short distance.
With that decided Huey returned Rags, but only for the duration of the trip to the Pokemon Center. Once the Scraggy had been healed he was out of his ball, a curiously expectant look on his face. "We're going to challenge Burgh now," he replied, though his words were directed to all of pokemon currently out of their balls. Burgh was a bug specialist, much like Bugsy, so he'd need to take him on with pokemon who wouldn't be rattled by the sight of the creepy-crawlies.
Huey kept this in mind as he made a few changes to his team, switching in pokemon who hadn't been trained in a while, and once he was satisfied he headed back out into the forest.

It didn't take long for Apollo to locate his pokemon, it was the exact reason why he'd told them to stay near the Pokecenter, and the musician smiled down at the three. "You get much battling done?" he asked, curious about how much progress they'd made while he was gone. Sylvia shook her head, obviously disappointed by this fact, and folded her arms over her chest. Apollo hummed thoughtfully, almost as displeased as his starter, before he set his sights towards the city's northern exit, where the treetops of the forest could just barely be seen. It was about time he started thinking of finding a new training area. The city's pokemon weren't strong enough to provide his with a challenge, and it was about damn time he got his second badge.
That solo number certainly wouldn't impress anyone, it didn't even satisfy Apollo himself. He really needed to get things into gear, train up his pokemon and just... whizz through the next few gyms, five was an amount to aspire to.

With a jerk of the head Apollo motioned to his pokemon to begin following him as he began to make for Pinwheel forest, his saxophone case thumping lightly against his thigh every few steps. Unfortunately for them they didn't get very far before Sylvia was attacked by a pokemon who, to the rest of the group, appeared out of no where. The two went rolling, their momentum only stopped when they crashed into a nearby trash can. Quirking an eyebrow at the bedlam the bright-haired male turned on his heels to inspect the fight that had broken out, now that an unsteady Sylvia had returned herself to her feet.
Her opponent was an avian-like pokemon, and despite the type disadvantage she quickly put the bird in its place with a powerful sweep of her tail, sending it back into the very trashcan she herself had picked herself up from. The little eaglet, although bruised and slightly out of it, somehow managed to find its feet, but before Sylvia could deliver a blow Apollo stepped in.
"Woah there," he exclaimed, and put case down directly in front of Sylvia, providing her with an obstacle she'd have to get over if she wanted to continue her fight. Which she did, of course, but thought better of it when her trainer gave her a meaningful look. The bird cocked its head to the side, turning its attention from Sylvia to Apollo and instantly narrowed its eyes, from the way it looked over him the man felt almost as if he was being sized up. Surely... this pokemon wasn't thinking of attacking him. But, alas, that was exactly what the pokemon was thinking and with a mighty squawk it charged at Apollo, its talons clicking against the cement.

Perhaps it was due to the bird's stature, or the fact that he had three (okay, technically two) loyal pokemon within spitting distance, but seeing the pokemon rush towards him didn't exactly strike fear into the musician's heart. He wasn't dumb enough to dismiss the pokemon, or its talon, entirely, however, and made sure to step back and over his case as it charged at him fearlessly, as it ran the pokemon seemed to calculate in the obstacle in its path and prepared to take measures to avoid it. It never got the chance, much to its dismay, as Sylvia hopped over the case and treated the bird to yet another Aqua Tail, this time swinging the extremity vertically so that the pokemon hit the wall.
From behind her Apollo heaved a sigh, fingers running through bright tresses. That had been a bit... excessive, but at least he wasn't being attacked anymore. The man scratched his cheek in thoughtful consideration, unsure of what to do with the little bird; he didn't even know what species it was, let alone if it was simply wild or a trainer's lost pokemon. Luckily, he had a pokedex to clear up one of the two mysteries.
"A Rufflet, huh?" Apollo spoke the bird's name out loud after a quick scan of his handy little device, peering up from over it to stare at the unconscious bird. He closed the pokedex with a snap before putting it away. Well, that had answered one question now to find out-- Apollo found himself mentally derailing when a croak sounded from, what he could've sworn was unconscious, Rufflet. Wary now, he turned to look at it fully and with a raised eyebrow watched as the eaglet pulled itself onto trembling legs, shook itself to clear its head, and blindly charged in the last direction it'd seen Apollo in.
Not quite willing to allow Sylvia to slam the pokemon again Apollo acted quickly, pulling out a pokeball from his bag and giving an underhanded toss to capture the pokemon. He didn't expect it to do much, honestly he'd only done it as a diversion tactic, but three shakes later he found that he'd actually caught the little barbarian.
