There wasn't much of an opportunity for her to celebrate her victory. Murphy gave a little chirp, blinking as she found the ground underneath her feet beginning to move, forced to hop back as a Sandshrew suddenly sprung up where she'd been standing. Another Sandshrew appeared and this time Murphy was ready. Without the slightest bit of hesitation, she powered up her aqua tail move and struck it down well before it could fully pop out of it's dug hole. She chirped and looked up excitedly at Dresden, who gave a nod of approval. She'd pretty much picked up quickly on what needed to be done and did it, which was good. His ears twitched as he looked out to the distance though, more lumps approaching their general direction. It wasn't over just yet.

While his pokemon went about training, Faraday strolled back over and plopped down next the Zorua. He eyed the fox a moment as it stared intently at the device, seeming to soak up the new information concerning the most recent of wild attacks. "So how’d you learn how to read, exactly?" "NERD." Faraday spontaneously announced, laughing to himself again. He saw the fox look confused, blinking and staring at him. It was pretty darn clear that he had absolutely no idea what Faraday was calling him or what the word even meant, which given his recent hatching, made a lot of sense. "A what…?"
"N. E. R. D." Faraday spelled out jokingly, smiling still to himself. He knew the Zorua was confused and that he’d probably owed the creature an explanation, but that could come later. Evidently, the pokemon recognized that as well and huffed, returning his gaze to the device. Apparently, he didn’t have any desire to be mocked or he just didn’t have a sense of humor developed enough to follow. Faraday watched him, his grin lessening to a proper smile before he went about his own business.

He took a gander at his watch to get a clue of the time as well as look up information about the next gym leader. Flannery was her name and apparently she prided herself in the use of fire types. This made it all the more important that Murphy got in some training. He was kind of curious when the Mudkip would evolve; did he want her too? He’d kind of chosen her as a starter for a reason; a Mudkip had always struck him as a nice pokemon to have for a magic trick. He’d have to see what she evolved into; could he make use of that?
"So what is it you do, exactly?" Once more the Zorua spoke up, diverting the detective’s attention. Faraday frowned a bit, seeming uncertain of what the fox was referencing. It took a moment of thought before he developed a potential clue.

The Zorua was watching with a sort of skeptical interest; he certainly didn’t see how it was possible, given the description, for him to be secretive and out in the open all at once.

"Good. Then it makes sense that the last thing you expect of the guy you’re searching for is for him to be inked up, freckled up and well… just a sight for sore eyes," he gestured to all the incredibly obvious markings of his person that would’ve made his current persona as ‘under cover’ all but a failure. In a way though, it worked though. No matter what, he’d be in some kind of disguise when he went undercover; there was no using the same face more than once. But so long as he hid the really obvious things when he did and then wore them in the open when he wasn’t, then chances were far better that he would be overlooked. It’d worked for him a vast majority of the time anyways.

With that conversation handled, Faraday resumed his research into the next gym battle, giving Murphy another spritz down before he did. He glanced up once in a while to make sure everyone was doing alright; some of these wild pokemon were getting hits in, especially with Murphy, so he wanted to make sure nothing happened to her in particular. Chromie didn’t seem too keen to join on the fighting which he didn’t really blame her for; ground was particularly hard hitting against fire types. She herself didn’t quite have a move set that made her fit for battle either. He really needed to look into boosting her moveset if he could.

"Hey Chromie, come here for a moment." Faraday ushered. He snagged the pokedex away from the Zorua, much to his disapproval, hovering it over the Charmander a moment. Soon the data that he was looking for came up and he took a moment to browse through it. He ‘hm’ed to himself as he looked, gently placing a hand on top of the Charmander’s head.
"We’ll need to find a nice grassy place to train you in, you know? So you can get strong too." He murmured. It’d be kind of cool to have a Charizard at some point, but that wouldn’t happen until he got her training. Chromie gave a gentle ‘char’ in response, claws pushed to the end of her snout as she sat there and shut her eyes. Faraday smiled and gently patted her head. "Don’t worry, we’ll find a place for ya to train." Chromie’s head bobbed a bit before suddenly she became enveloped in light.
