His steel blue eyes flicked up when her hand touched his own, expecting to see her hatred. She hated seeing an already deceased rabbit stripped, surely she was another who'd despise him.
There was no hatred though. Compassion, empathy, still lingering horror. Did she understand? "You bring up a very comforting point. I'm certain the Guardians know exactly what they are doing." It was why he did it. They were far wiser than he, so they must know what was best. After all, they knew they could trust him to carry it out correctly. "I appreciate it...do you have any additional questions?"EvilSilverDragon Lolol only took like half a day directly in Rakens presence without him hiding anything.

That she was able to comfort him even a little bit was the best outcome possible. Her own discomfort at the whole ordeal faded in the face of her faith in the Guardians. They had never failed the isle, it was they that failed them. No benevolent Guardian would order the murder of children. The matter was soothed over from there.
Shaking her head she said, "No, I don't" The mission was given to him by the Guardians, that was an extreme honor. There were probably pae on the isle that would be unhappy with her, filled with questions and wonder. Rather, she had the wonder but not the personality to pry. It was enough to be reminded the Guardians know best and they guided the mission. Never would they let one of their own go astray.Tartara Seabreeze Instead of replying I was working on unlocking my old photobucket, it worked!

He watched her for a moment after her reply, slightly surprised that she didn't have more questions for him. It was an opportunity not afforded to very many pae, as he typically brushed off others with one word answers about the event. But if she was satisfied, he was more than happy to oblige. "Alright. A more pleasant change of conversation then. I'd like to know more about you, if you'd indulge me?" He knew she lived in the time of HQ, liked gardening, reading and had a family...that was about it.Evilsilverdragon Just noticed that we are on page 6! Wooo!

He wanted to know about her? Blushing she looked to the side as her words came to her, "Me? I am not very interesting, I am afraid." He was chosen by the Guardians to do great things. There wasn't anything such as that in her life. What she had was wonderful but not world changing. Even so, she looked back to him and answered stronger, "I would be happy to answer any questions you have." Smiling again, she reflected on all the happy if hazy memories of her own childhood and past. Even now she could picture her mother and father clearly and her siblings from Sunny and her hat to her baby sister.Tartara Seabreeze longest one on on rp evers, so much fun biggrin

He smiled lightly with her humble attitude as he settled into his chair, relaxing. She was an attractive female, and the bit of blush was becoming. "Well...what are your dreams? Your aspirations? What do you want to be remembered for?" Perhaps a heavy question for a stranger, but things like 'whats your favorite color' were so dull. And the only way one could learn about another was through sharing information, either verbally or physically.Evilsilverdragon Go Menolly and Raken! Woooo!

Her dreams? That was going to take some time to answer. The short of it was she didn't have much of a dream, just to be married with children of her own supporting her community. That hardly came easy into words for some reason. "I dream of a family of my own, husband and children with a little home of my own. " That just felt insufficient some how but it was the truth, of all her dreams, that was the one she held dear.
There was more to her life, certainly, but that was the honest face of it, "I want to support others, help the faithful as a whole live better. I'd like to give back everything I can to the Guardians in show of thanks for all they have given to me. It will never be enough." Never could she match what They had done for her. That didn't mean she wouldn't spend her life trying. There were little things she did everyday. Those would add up someday.
As for what she wanted to be remembered for, that rolled into the other two, "I want to be remembered as a good daughter, wife, mother and believer. I want my mark on the world to be making other pae's lives better. If I could see peace restored to the isle somehow, that would be half of everything right there." With a mate of her own, that would be the whole of it.

He listened closely, as this would be something close and dear to her heart. Her hopes were simple, but meant the world to her so were important. But there was a take away. Mention of having a family.
He pointedly smoothed his face to not give away emotion, but internally he paled. What if she believed this some sort of date?
What if it was some sort of date?
She was looking for a mate, something he had no interest in. He had one before, and she had broken his heart. "That's a wholesome wish. With your service to the Guardians, perhaps they will send someone to you." Not him. Definitely not him.

Menolly gave a nod, affirming, "Maybe. I hope to serve Them however They see fit." In the end, it wasn't her dreams that mattered. It was what the Guardians wished of her.
There was no real dwelling on it, moving on, "Should They ever see fit, I hope dearly to bring peace back to the isle." Desperately she want someone else in her life. Yet at the same time, the Guardians and Their will was more important.
She would just be 'married' to Them until her future arrives. Without dwelling she continued, "I enjoy helping to keep the Hall of the Lost clean and respected. Helping out with the dinning hall is also fun." Even so, she was embarrassed enough, with all he did she must sound so silly. It was small in comparison but it was hers.Tartara Seabreeze Definitely not Raken, never Racken rofl

He nodded to her nod, completely agreeing. He dedicated most of his life to serving the Guardians. The whole reason he was a skilled fighter was to become an Elder, but even when that passed he was still determined to gain their favor. "That's noble of you help out. Pae would over look the importance of upkeep, but it's an important roll that must be filled." He himself wouldn't do it, however his skills would be better utilized in other fashions. He was a warrior pae and a scholar, it was how he was best used.Evilsilverdragon If there was a dating wheel he'd totally be the smallest wedge instead of the biggest. Never Raken.

He saw things in a similar way, even in the City it was still amazing. Smiling at him she acknowledge that by adding, "Every pae has their own strengths. Just one more marvel of the Guardians, putting their faithful just where they need to be and just where their strengths are most suited." Just the power and foresight of the Guardians was awe inspiring.
Had they picked say her for the mission with the tree, she'd have failed. It wasn't in her to do something like that. Not that she was judging Raken. He was so strong and she admired his faith. It was truly a gift to spend this time with the demon.

It was comforting hearing someone else with such an unshakable faith in the Guardians. His other family members were believers, but not nearly to such degree as himself. It was nice knowing he wasn't alone. "I pray that one day I'll know even a tenth of what they do."
When he next inhaled, he smelled the rabbit roast. It was cooking well, and the scent was delicious. "I think we may have made a delectable roast."Evilsilverdragon *spins wheel, lands on Raken* Raken: o___o;

The idea was a nice one, and reminded her just of the gifts. "Thats why the Guardians gave us the power to communicate. To collectively learn and share. What one doesn't know another might!" Even between them, she knew things he didn't and he knew so much she didn't. Learning from him was a treat and to be able to reciprocate a returning gift.
He brought up something else, the something that was her favorite part of cooking. Inhaling the scents herself, she closed her eyes and remained still for a few heartbeats just soaking it in. As her golden eyes opened they remained attentively glued on Raken's own eyes as she remarked, "This is why I love cooking. Working with someone else to create something so beautiful." Realistically it was just a roast. It was, however, also the combination of skills and cooperation to create something good and positive. Mundane but the perfect example of just what she wanted close to most in the world.

"How glorious indeed that the Guardians gifted us the capacity for intelligence and room to grow as individuals." Must never forget that all that they had was because of the Guardians. They were their creator, their savior. The reason they could enjoy the gift of life.
She had beautiful eyes. He noticed them, and perhaps appreciated them for the first time when she locked them on his own. The eye contact combined with mention of creating something made his face warm. He was thinking of things he should not be thinking! Perhaps he had been in solitude for too long, and he was a mortal male with desires known by flesh. A reason he was imperfect, unlike the Guardians. She is beautiful. The thought crossed, in answer to saying the meal was beautiful. Sinful thoughts. Distracting thoughts. He ripped his eyes way. "Collaboration can yield the best results for any project. How did you become so worldly?"

It was hard not to feel some pride at hearing him agree with her. It was a odd place of both pride and shame of said pride. It really wasn't good to be prideful after all. It was just so wonderful to spend time with him. If they were both below, would she have ever met him? Without the HQ there was a good chance they would never cross paths. Finding others that believe in the Guardians.
The Guardians were kind, to allow her to meet him.
When he looked away from her she tilted her head slighting to side, curious what was on his mind at the moment. Was there something in he direction he glanced? That followed a question she didn't know the answer to. Going shy herself she distracted herself by tucking her bangs behind her ear. Responding as best she could, "I don't know about that, just great parents? Grace of the Guardians?" Her mother and father were amazing and the foundation of who she was. Her faith was also the bricks of her whole being. There was probably a better answer out there but there was no finding it.Tartara Seabreeze She is at a loss for words, poor baby.

All in all, this evening had proven to be a refreshing break from his normal ones in solitude, reading. Even if it did present questions he'd rather not face. "I'm sure it would be an honor knowing your parents. Perhaps if Guardians are willing I'll meet them one day." He'd especially like to meet her father, if just to get the nagging feeling from the back of his mind.
In one smooth motion he lifted from the chair onto his feet. "Would you like a drink? Goats milk, water, tea?"Evilsilverdragon Oh he'd LOVE to meet her parents XDDD
