"There ya go!" Pep talk completed, partner re-energized, Regina gave the younger troll a twirl. Of course, they might not win, seeing as they came to the floor late, but she didn't really mind. She hadn't joined this to get the prize, since that would probably mean removing her hood and causing a minor riot. And of course, if she decided that she did want to win, she could again simply remove her hood. It was amazing how many things you suddenly won when you were the ruler of the entire planet, even if you weren't even competing in the first place.

Nervit lit up - that was the only way to put it. If you wanted, you could even make the candle pun relating to her sign because she was glowing as she talked about the tea dances to Skaeys - not even noticing his slip as she began to babble. "It's fantastic! I don't dance myself,I'm there to serve tea and cakes that I get supplied from a local orangeblood like me - we split the profits 60/40 because she doesn't actually host, only cook so. But the dancers, oh wow. It's beautiful. they do all the regulars, plus some of them even know highblood dances even though the highest there is teal." Her voice dropped a little at the last bit, quiet and secretive but still very excited about the dancers.

Odette twirled with her partner, reveling in the cool feeling of wind on her skin as she spun in place. Goodness, was she starting to sweat already? Come to think of it, it was probably from the nervousness and not the dancing itself. Well, it wasn't like she was going to stop now, not when things were really getting fun! She couldn't help but giggle as she moved in time with her partner, adding a little bit of elegant flair here and there.
But in the back of her head, Odette knew that they were horribly behind in the competition. If they were really going to try and win, they'd have to pull out some impressive, judge's-eye-catching moves. Odette wasn't quite sure what she could do, after all she was only following her partner's lead. Sure, she could try to take the lead, but she knew that she didn't have the courage for that. She settled for talking instead.
"Hey, if you want to try some big moves— not that your moves haven't been great already!" Odette blushed a bit at her blunder. "I mean if you wanted to put on a stunt of some kind, I'd be thoroughly willing!" Glad she had mustered up the courage to speak, Odette felt warm with the idea of pulling off some big moves. Her partner had surely shown that she had some talent, and Odette was sure that there was more to be seen.

He misstepped, badly. The music outpaced him by quite a bit and he tried to keep up and listen to her story and watch his feet and something just, gave. He pulled away when he should have twirled and well, down he went. His ankle throbbed for a moment, a warning at him to not do that again, but he was already laughing, a soft chirping sound that kept trying to dissolve into shamed peeps. His face was flushed a bright rust red as he pushed himself up and dusted off his pants.
"Ah sorry about that. I guess I'm really not made for dancing." He said, forcing his harmonics to form actual words and not bird just chatter. He hoped Taldad hadn't seen that. He didn't need the overprotective Corvus to barge in and ruin the event for Nervit even more than he was already doing. "Let's ah, try to salvage this?" He offered her his hand, "I'm sorry, I don't think we'll be ranking anywhere high because of me." The smile he offered her was lopsided and held a tinge of sadness.

Troll: Keionx Rutace Partner: Vremea Everai Friends. Keionx had those. ”That doth sound... splendid!” she said, ”And thou, too, art splendid. Like a flower, slow to open, thou simply neededst some time?” it was almost a question – Keionx rarely tried one of the flowery analogies she so admired in the stories, and she was a little concerned about it.
Then again, it sounded good. She too, was like a flower... sort of. In the same analogy, she had already bloomed and... was she wilting? No she was not! She would stop dancing poorly and return to the higher standards that she - as a knight in training - was supposed to uphold with elegant ladies like Vremea.

Chuckling at her comparison, Vremea gave Keionx a small twirl, nodding at her softly, though she couldn't help but feel like her statement of being a good dancer was a lie. "It seems so. I must be a late blossom." She murmured, negativity curling into her voice as she felt her throat clench, remembering every times she failed someone-- but she stopped herself, her smile sliding back onto her face. She couldn't frown infront of her-- she seemed bright, full of energy... If Vremea frowned, Keionx would too. So she had to smile. Pulling her back into the dancing position, she continued leading the younger girl, smiling all the way.

Aandes tried to recover from his little moment. He spun, feeling the rubber of his sneakers scoot against the floor. The inertia of the moment was going to his head. Everything in the room felt wishy-washy swimmy. Rasali had done this to him, and it called for REVENGE! Aandes' face was hot and flushed from dancing. He bounded up next to Rasali and took her little hands in his.
Suddenly, Aandes acted. It came easily and instinctively, but it was the perfect retribution. If Aandes had thought it out any other way he'd come to the same conclusion. In fact, it may not have been a strategy in the first place. He gave Rasali a spin, wrapped his arm around her, and bent down (significantly, given his growth spurt) to give her a minty kiss. His first kiss. First kiss. The young troll pulled back from the quick peck, as though he was shocked at himself for the action.
Revenge was sweet.

[ Finally Rasali was getting into the true party spirit. No Old Hemisect flashbacks, just annoying Aandes and dancing. Two fantastic pastimes.
And then it happened. Rasali should have noticed sooner. Aandes had stopped sulking. Aandes wasn't the type to just get over his own ego--not that easily. He clearly had a reason, a plan. Rasali needed to figure out what his angle was before he could- before he could...
Rasali's face felt warm, starting with her lips and spreading out over the rest of her face. She was seeing green. Aandes had just-! Aandes had just!?
Aandes pulled back and Rasali stayed put. She was practically frozen, but feeling very, very warm. ]

"A stunt huh?" Regina would have been a lying if she didn't say that idea was right up her alley. And the dance was winding down, all the other competitors running out of energy. Alright. She looked at her partner again. If the other troll had been a bit stronger and less ... less little, she would probably have tried to start a mosh pit. But thanks to a lot of hard work from her advisers, she was slowly beginning to grasp the laughable idea of compromise. "Right, let's clear some space. Follow my lead!" Grasping Odette's hands, she spun them both forward across the floor. Total: 69 (64 + 5)

Matching her partner in perfect time, she skipped around the room with a large, joyous expression. Her partner was right, all she needed was to relax and have fun! Odette couldn't help but laugh as she spun around the floor. She felt a little bad for the trolls quickly dodging out of their path, but she was so caught up in the moment she hardly paid heed. She could always apologize to them after the dance was over. A happy, bubbly feeling boiled up in Odette's blood pusher. She looked at her partner, hoping she was enjoying the dance as much as she was. The bounce in their dance moved her partner's hood up and down ever so slightly, allowing Odette a better peek at her partner. Her eyes widened at the sight and her blood-pusher started to beat so fast it felt like it was going to burst. "My goodness, you're beautiful!" Odette said in awe, "Why would you hide such a lovely face?" A warm blush crept across the redblood's face. No, what a stupid question! Odette thought, yelling in her head. Of course she has her reasons, and she's probably trying to keep it secret! Stupid, stupid...Total: 78 (69 + 5 + 3 (same number) + 1 (odds))

Oh my god that laugh was adorable. Nervit's face flushed as she found herself laughing too - if not making bird noises. Carefully she helped pull Skaeys up and she shook her head, beaming at him as she spoke. "It's okay, we've had a ton of fun, and that's what important!" Then she paused, taking a nervous breath."If you'd like, we could always meet up again and I can show you some of the instructional videos I own. Or of course we could do something else if you've decided dancing isn't your thing!" Nervit smiled again at Skaeys hopefully- the pair o them had made a little bit of a fool of themselves with all the tripping and falling, but Nervit had had fun - she hadn't been lying, and she'd like to see Skaeys again, that was for sure!

It was a statement that Vremea would appreciate, being as it was a quote from an old epic romance, a sappy sort of thing in the old style: all emotion and epic tales of idealized love and hate, and not a single 'intimate' scene in sight. ”And their fragrance filleth the air with joy as their beauty doth reveal itself in the moon's light...” she smiled, happy she remembered the whole quote. It had come to her as they had danced, the movement of her mind matching the steps of her feet. This was fun!
”Doth thou thinkist it so?” Keionx asked, momentarily curious, ”I hath scant knowledge of flowers...” Except for the vicious ones that grew in bogs and ate unwary trolls, and that wasn't the sort of knowledge that mattered here... Current point total: 106+1

Something inside him relaxed as he heard her join in on his laughing and the fact that she was having fun took away some of the sting of his failure. It was...an odd feeling, knowing that someone was enjoying his company enough to want to see him again. To interact with him, maybe even practice dancing with him! A bit of worry started to gnaw on his wastetubes though, he didn't have...a good track record with trolls. One had even called him the 'Love em and Leave em' type. But...
But how could he explain the burning need to leave he got?
He huffed mentally at his thoughts. Look at him! Worrying when it wasn't even time to worry. How unusual. Instead he tightened his grip on her hand just a tad, the one he hadn't let go of when he'd taken when she went to help him up, again. "I-I'd like that, a lot."
He wasn't paying a lick of attention to the song as he started to sway in time to the beat again, instead he was looking at her. Her face (not her eyes), her nose, her hair, her horns. Finally he looked into her eyes, saw how happy she was in that moment, and Skae grinned his crooked grin again, his own eyes lighting up. "I would, I really would like that. Hey! Can we practice dancing again too?"

Keionx was such a flatterer, it was adorable. Feeling a soft, light yellow blush slide onto her face, the yellowblood let a smile tug at her features. She knew that quote... It was from one of the first books she read, filled with adorable love and hate. She could remember the exact moment she read it, many sweeps ago... With a slight sweep of her feet, Vremea felt her smile grow wide, almost tripping.
After Keionx mentioned having little knowledge of flowers, Vremea's eyes widened. "Oh goodness. I shall have to fix this! We will visit Four Fronds one day. It has the most amazing flowers..."

Regina glanced down at the younger troll and shot her a sly smile, preening inwardly. "Well --" Suddenly she jerked the younger troll to a halt. "Aw fishsticks!" There, at the end of the dance hall were two royal drones, resplendent in their tabards, sent to fetch her back home. There was no way she was going this early! Gl could wobble and howl all it liked in her dreams tonight, she was having too much fun. "Sorry to dance and dash redblood, but I can't stick around for the end." Letting go of her partner, she gave a quick, slightly mocking bow. "You were pretty good at the end though. This ain't the reward I was hoping to give, but our time's been cut a little short. Here buy yourself somethin' nice with this!" Reaching into her robe, she grabbed one of the gold decorative buttons on her waist, and pulled it off with a short, sharp tug. Like the rest of her jewellery it was 24 karat, the inner circle marked with her symbol. Slipping it into Odette's hand, she turned and disappeared quickly into the crowd. Total: 79 (78 + 1)
