June 28th, 2017: Lanzer ElegantlyLuminous Games -- Lake Kindred I've asked this before and I know that the staff don't have to respond to repeat questions, but I didn't think it hurt anything other than my pride to ask this again. Would it be possible for there to be an LK representative here at ATS? It doesn't have to be all the time, but it would be nice if we could sometimes see a response other than "We'll pass this along to Lionheart" or radio silence. The radio silence gets really unnerving after a while. sweatdrop Failing that, regulars updates to the Official LK Update Thread would be nice. (And because I'm me, here's a SF thread with some support.) Actually last time he answered a question I just posted his answer on his behalf, but I'll ask him to drop by the feedback thread also. Q: When you guys gonna add a clear all button to the notifications? Or stop the spam of it. I give you some credit for lowering the amount done, but the problem is far from fixed. It's still kinda annoying. And none of you guys address it. Ever. Clear all button sounds like a good feature to have, I can slip that through in-between projects. I'm sure there's others who prefer knowing Ask the Staff is a regular Tuesday feature, but... Perhaps you could make the non-Tuesday AtS a more regular thing? Like once a month, or once every couple of months? Sure thing, we can definitely change things up every once in a while.

August 1st, 2017: Lanzer ElegantlyLuminous Games -- Lake KindredCould we pretty please have some more interaction with and communication from the staff members working on LK? I know that lionheart is busy with the economy project and that maybe he'll be more active with us now that it's coming to fruition. I get that, I do. But with the way that the settings button was recently added in (i.e., without any notification whatsoever), I'm just a little concerned that all updates are going to be made silently and/or secretively like that. Don't get me wrong- I'm both thrilled and grateful to see an update and I can certainly understand any hesitation after the Sycamorte nerf blowout. It's just... I don't know. The radio silence about LK leads some of us to start putting on tinfoil hats and speculating about when or how the game will end. (Let's be honest: the tinfoil hats are not attractive.) Some simple interaction, whether it be updating the Official LK Update Thread or posting in one of the casual chat threads like the ones asking about your favorite kin, would go a long way towards restoring some faith. Side note: thanks for adding the settings option! As someone who deals with chronic migraines, I'm adoring the auto-mute. Sorry but not all developers and artists on Gaia are as talkative as me and others who frequent ATS. He still loves putting in time to update the game, and supporting LK players, and I forward questions for him to answer as often as I can. Communication is a completely different skillset that some enjoy more than others.

Is he still going to take periodic feedback on projects for the larger projects? I'll be putting a list together later, though right now there's still a lot to fix on the new currency project, and there's a ton left to do for Gaia Mobile. Hope to free up some time soon!

There's a lot on the first pages that have not been addressed, but questions on later pages have. Not getting LK questions answered is pretty normal for AtS because the one staff member who can work the game doesn't attend AtS and doesn't like talking to users, according to Lanzer a few weeks ago. Expect to ask the same questions five weeks in a row before getting a vague response. sweatdrop Whoa!! He likes the users he is just kinda shy. I wasn't saying that he doesn't LIKE users, but that Lanzer said he doesn't like TALKING to users. I don't think any staff dislike users! He doesn't like TALKING. Great guy though! codemonkey37179 Azura Meira LOL @ this getting addressed but not the actual LK questions (with a few exceptions) Well, because we don't know the LK answers. Code works a bit differently than a lot of workplace stuff. I left Gaia about a month after the LK code started. I worked on just the very start of it. Lanzer had already left a year before that. We all manage our own stuff and help each other out where needed. Gaia is a big site. No one (not even Lanzer) can have all the answers in their head all the time. Lionheart was working on the currency project for a long time. He is quite passionate about Lake Kindred though and I'm sure he will update as soon as he can.

Was wondering if you guys were still checking the userevents email! I sent an email like two weeks ago for the Halloween Heart break cafe event and have not gotten a response. I get those e-mails also and my inbox has been buried to death in trying to help out with subscription, but I'll take a look for it and make sure we get back to you. Zero Omega vanillea OtherSometimes the staff postpones an ATA saying they are currently "understaffed". But usually only 1 to 2 people reply to questions. So it's a bit weird? We usually try to have four to five people on board for ATS: Jak, myself, Lanzer, codemonkey, and an artist if they are available. When we get short staffed, we're normally down to two or three people and can't properly run an ATS, so we'll postpone in.

October 10th, 2017: Lanzer GodNoct Features? I thinkHow do I join SCAS cause i asked in the Gaia live stream but the chat was booming so I didn't get an answer. They said if I had ideas to post in the SCAS guild but i'm not in it though I have a lot of ideas and opinions. That was just a quick test as we needed to see how much bandwidth it took. We quickly reached the maximum 1BG bandwidth for our server with only 130 users. We will need to do a lot of work to ensure that we can release this features to every Gaian. sweatdrop

January 9th, 2018: Zero Omega Darc Nightgale Not sure where this would go under.So last year I applied to join SCAS. I got an email back in June to fill out a non-disclosure agreement. I sent it back filled out, but I never did hear anythin' back. Just wanted to know what happened? It's likely we fell behind on collecting the NDAs and accepting, we'll look into updating everyone who applied to SCAS sometime within the next couple months. Lanzer The Nephilim Rosier Events?At the beginning of last year (nearly exactly a year ago), some of the Artists took over AtS and an absolutely adorable free gift was created for the users who posted in the thread. We were since promised more of these sorts of take overs, with users being able to ask questions to the artists and the freebie being released some more so more users could get it. It would be great to see this happen and bring the item back into circulation too! I shall give a gentle nudge to the art team.

I checked your post history and you've just posted memes instead of helping other users. Consider that my question to the staff in general, I guess. Jak Bauer's job is morale. But a lot of users feel like their questions are being passed over for the sake of him being able to post memes, and not just him, but other staff who have conversations with each other in these threads without answering user questions. I thought this was "ask the staff" not "staff talk to each other and post nonsense" I don't see that this helps the site be any more transparent or accountable to its users like it's supposed to when it's being derailed constantly. As far as I can tell, you and Lanzer are the only two who consistently provide answers to user concerns. The rest makes us feel like we're ignored and I don't see how that's good for morale. confused I understand, but there is a lot going on behind the scenes as well. Especially when there are things in their area of customer service that come up that can not be discussed in public. So what I normally do in ATS is scan for questions I know the answer to. I think the others do the same. If no one knows the answer it tends to fall by the wayside. Usually, these are art questions. It is not that we don't care, or that we want to ignore anyone. I come to Ask the Staff to talk to users, as that's what a good amount of people use the thread for. In terms of questions, I can't answer many, but when there's Project Recolor questions I do try to chime in where I can! codemonkey37179 2sammygate miscSCAS needs to get some people who specifically have slow computers, to test how bad features will lag things. What are you having trouble with? Do you have a slow computer? Maybe you can apply???

Hi there, If we can answer it, asking again sure does help. But sometimes there are questions we just do not have an answer for unfortunately. [ Note from Platonix - a post at the start of each Ask the Staff lists a few different reasons why Staff might not have an answer for a question. If they don't answer a question, though, they don't bother telling us which reason applied, and at least one of the reasons allows for the possibility that they'll have an answer next week.
