What It Was Worth
"Nah, you're a hunter. Definitely not squib material."
Stormy hesitated, then slowly reached for his hand. "You don't have to tell me what happened, but I know you had to make a difficult decision. Living through stuff like that's not easy. But I think you're a Slytherin 'cause you found a way to survive, all on the go."

What It Was Worth There was that, at least. Sometimes Stormy always knew the right words to say. He didn't pull away from her touch, and squeezed her hand a little bit too tight. Turned away to rub at his eyes, Leslie unleashed a shuddery exhale. He was such a ******** pansy. "Thanks, Stormy." It was, perhaps, the first time he'd ever actually used her name.

What It Was Worth
She smiled gently and squeezed his hand back. "You know what else? Slytherins are totally cool bad boys," she told him. "Well, the ones that aren't so mean. If you want, though, I could read to you? I really want you to get to the end, 'cause there's a really cool guy from Slytherin who totally redeems himself, and it's really bittersweet but worth the read."

What It Was Worth He was just too tired to be suspicious. Stormy had already, literally, made her way into his life. She was the only other person that had seen the inside of his room, even if it was because she'd broken in to vandalize it. "Sounds about right," Leslie said, yawning again, and then handed over the book, sliding it across the sheets. "Yeah, that sounds good. Reading hurts my eyes." He pulled away, rolling onto his stomach to rest, sighing. "Might pass out though."

Moral Dilemma "Which one has the least amount of boring narration?" he asked, honest. Leslie was familiar with the listed names, of course, and had even seen one or two, but most of them were earlier. Sneaking into theaters to watch as many movies as possible before getting kicked out had been a pastime, but most of the time they tried to see rated anything rated R. "Isn't that kind of a waste of money? They're like, ten pages."

Moral Dilemma"Um. Probably Spiderman," Noah offered after a moment of thought. "I like getting the collections when I can, so it's like a bunch of issues collected into one volume so you get the whole story arc. I don't think it's any more of a waste of money than any kind of book, I mean, unless the story sucks, and then if it was like a novel with a sucky story it'd still be a waste of money, right?"

Moral Dilemma "That'un, then." Leslie looked at Noah funny, because to him, it was all a waste of money. "I won't uh, ruin it or whatever." I take care of other people's things.

Moral Dilemmas"Okay. I'll bring it for you then." Noah hesitated, couldn't think of anything else to say, gave Leslie an awkward little nod and hurried out to resume his duties before anyone could come by to see why he wasn't working right now. Later that day, he scooted in just long enough to deposit a largish volume of the collection on the bedside table. It was marked Volume 1.

What You Had & What You LostNot one to skimp on affection at such an important moment, Abbi sighed with a lopsided smile before she wiggled down to get more comfortable. Cuddling with Leslie felt weird, but special because it was like earning favor. An idle hand poked at his hair, unsure if she wanted to play with it or not. While he talked she listened, carefully categorizing and trying to memorize what he was saying so she would have it for later use should the need ever arise. Sincerely she hoped it wouldn't come to that, but the girl had been at Deus long enough to know that sleeping lions did not often lie for long. Everything he says is confusing, she can't put pictures to it but she is reluctant to ask after it any further. What Abbi does know is that she has no words. If she says her initial instinct of 'Its over now' she knows that doesn't cover it. What happened is over, but his experience will stay with him. Maybe, she muses as she brushes a hand over his shoulder again and again, maybe that's what is really the worst about everything that happens. Things stick, they don't just happen and are forgotten, they hang around and weigh people's shoulders down. But she has to say something, she can't just let him sit here and cry. For a second the teen lets herself drift off, she lets her mind wander through all the words she knows and likes to hear. Song lyrics and snippets of poems and kindness people have said to her all filter by and everything comes up short. What she finally settles on does too, but she still wraps her arm around Leslie's shoulders and gives a squeeze. "You're gonna be ok. Not right now, not in a few weeks... But I'm here, ok? I'll stay as long as you want."

What You Had & What You Lost If Abbi did decide to mess with his hair, she'd get a contented kind of sigh, both uncharacteristic and a little bit precious. He takes comfort in her solidity, in the gentle promise of her words. "Thanks." Emphatic and raw. "I...thanks, Abbi."
