Jack kept his gaze on the page as he wrote, picturing it for himself as his notes seemed to spring up of their own accord. More than a legacy? What went higher than that, Ancients like Death? Vengeance was an old concept after all...Black and white, Vengeance and Grief? He remembered Chel's journal from Wonderland (yet another thing of hers he kept around) and their discussion of queens. Teeth? He didn't know anything about teeth, but he made a note about them anyway. No such thing as any detail too small. Head touching? Probably explained the bleeding out on their side.

He reviewed his notes over. By the time he finished, Jack looked grim. (On the inside, things churned anew.)

"All the more reason to keep an eye on Axten," he said as he looked up at them. "God damn it, I'm watching like four ******** people now..." Well, somewhat. Finn and Ripley were away and could watch themselves, but he felt like checking on them occasionally anyway. Chris and Chel, though? Going to be a full-time job.

He pinched the bridge of his nose and for once looked as tired as he honestly felt. "Did they change how long they'll be keeping you here for, Craft?"

"I'll be fine," He snapped at Jack automatically. This wasn't about him. He didn't want it to be. He just wanted to make sure Chel was okay and ensure it never happened to her again. He sure as hell didn't want Jack thinking he had to keep an eye on him and keep up some kind of file. ********.

"Please say they're letting you out soon. I've seen enough lifers to last me a month." One of the younger techs made an indignant noise, and he ignored them with a wave of his hand.

"They don't tell me that..." Chel said absently, looking at the other life techs. "I figure they don't know neither."

She had more pressing matters to address anyways. Her hands went to the bandages one more time, tugging at them gently. "What... What did I do on this side? I didn't hurt anyone or nothin' did I?"

Great.

"You didn't hurt anyone," Jack assured her, ignoring Chris again because clearly he didn't know any better. Well, aside from her bleeding out, she hadn't hurt anyone. "The thing just ranted for a few minutes before you came to. Don't mess with those bandages, and maybe they'll let you out early."

Sweet Pea:

Noemi nodded. "I will not say no!" After all Chel was the one who helped Noemi out more then once. And she...was the type to never say no.

"I can try, si? Tell me what these duties are?" Noemi cocked her head.

Told You So

God, it hurt something inside of Evan to see Chel so weak and fragile. He wanted to break through the glass and carry her outside, into the sunlight, as if that might somehow revitalize her. She sure as hell didn't belong down here in a glass and metal box, no matter what had happened to her.

His attempt at a smile was weak and easily overcome by worry. He didn't bother trying harder; this was not a happy occasion. "Tell me anyway," he said.

Told You So

While Evan felt nothing but pity, Chel's annoyance grew. "Don't look at me like that," she said. Even if she was tired and broken, Chel was still Chel. "Don't need that pity s**t."

She looked at the life techs. "You mind catchin' him up on this s**t? Ain't exactly feelin' peaches in my throat. Could use some water." She was very pointed in pointing out that they only fed her once a day (and it was meager, pathetic even) and gave her water twice a day.

The life tech rolled his eyes and muted the microphones, severing Chel's connection to the room. She sighed and returned to sitting on her cot, waiting for the life tech's story to be over (why would she stand the whole time? Such a waste of energy).

Meanwhile the life tech filled Evan in, but only on case related details. The fact that Chel had made a deal with Merlin, but not why. The possessions, but not the altercations.

Sweet Pea

Noemi's sweetness caused Chel to pinch her cheek weakly. "Mostly just some pod duties and lighthouse stuff. Real boring, I took them from a moonie." Moons had the worst duties, in her opinion. All that island maintenance. "But if it gets too hard, tell me sweet pea. Ain't gotta push yourself over your limits."

She frowns somewhat deeply. "I can't pay you though ... They took my stuff, dunno where they're keepin' it. Um ..." She fidgets, pulls on the sheets like there's going to be something under them. "You can ask Chris for the key to my room and take anythin' you like?" This is quintessential Chel; procuring something to give when there should be nothing. "Got a pretty nice Nintendo 64, it's runic'd up and everything- that's probably worth enough ..."

Loyalty Mission

By the time Abbi had gotten around to finding Chel, and mostly recovering for her one night of being really insanely drunk, quite a lot more had happened. Namely that her friend had been quarantined and practically off limits to visitors. Which meant the teen had to get creative if she wanted to visit her friend, and by creative that meant stalking the area to figure out its weaknesses.
Unfortunately for Abbi, she found only one and it required her to get up really stinkin' early in the morning to enter the area.
And make out with a guy she didn't know who was supposed to be conducting his portion of the study.
And hit him over the head three times because shields.
And steal his lab coat.

"This is the worst stealth mission I've ever accomplished." The teen muttered as she shimmied into the coat and carefully hid the man in a conveniently placed broom closet. But she didn't feel too bad because she had mostly succeeded...
"Sure am glad I, a Life Tech, got to participate in this uh... This study that I definitely know all about." She called out as she hurried down the hall, bouncing on her toes to keep the tails of the coat from dragging the ground. But no one was around, thankfully, so she was able to just hurry on toward what she suspected to be the right place.
There was some shouting of Chel's name, however, because Abbi was actually a bit lost...

Loyalty Mission

Chel had had quite a bit of time to think.

When Abbi approached, Chel's face softened. This was the second time someone had snuck in to see her. It did make her feel wanted. Perspective was provided.

"Hey lifer. Coat's lookin' good on you," she told Abbi with a smirk. "Really suits you."

Loyalty Mission

Thrown off guard by a chair left standing around, Abbi careened into it and startled herself when she mistook it, only for a moment, as someone who had caught her and was going to get her in major trouble. They made you serve time for using one's feminine wiles for evil right?
But it was only a chair and the teen set it to rights with a thankful sigh, only to jump once more when someone spoke to her. She whirled around to face the large glass and jumped again when she saw who was speaking to her.
"Holyasdg;jasdg."

The actual words Abbi had said had turned into three separate words at once and she threw herself at the glass, only to trip over the combination of chair and lab coat.
"OHMIGOSH ARE YOU OK?" She screeched as she fell to the floor, kicked the chair away and just used the floor to slid herself on frantic hands and knees to the glass.
"Dumb question, obviously not, sorry. Better question: Why aren't you in the Infirmary!?"

Loyalty Mission

Chel faked a set of claws raking the air like a cat and said, "Because I'm dangerous." She scratched at the bandages on her head, tugging them because they were getting uncomfortable. Although she was still horribly marred, such a length of time had returned some of Chel back to the forefront. Because at the end of the day, trauma didn't leave a different person completely, it just left a changed person.

"Doin' fine thigh highs," she reported. It wasn't true at all, but if it satiated Abbi she was fine with it. "What're you up to?" Which was code talk for 1) how did you sneak in and 2) why.

Metal

Hands moved over metal, fingers fitting the spaces between the lines.

"How much is this one?"

Chris rubbed the side of his face and sighed. It was too much to hope for all this s**t to be over, apparently. "What did it rant about? Anything that could be helpful?"

He wasn't quite sure what anything would help. Finding and stopping this thing? Neither of them seemed willing to entertain that it could be stopped.

"That's good," she says, but is afraid to admit it isn't enough information to satiate her need to keep everyone safe. At this point she isn't sure how much information she's allowed anymore. Because everything needs to be given to her; she can't bear trying to take it.

Chris asks a question and it gives her an opening to do the same. She's relieved for her cousin's presence. "Yeah I mean ... Ya gotta tell me more than that Jackles." It's a weak command, but it's her first. "Don't I deserve to know what's crawlin' around in me?"
