Alucard walked into the Captain's desk and smiled. "Well this place is certainly different." he said to himself as he made a note to open up the Beluga so he can begin working. Alucard then made his way to a table and looked at all the people in the building. "Very lively I like it though the music needs to be changed if they expect me to dance." he said and smiled while looking at the menu for food before putting it down. "No money yet will just need to hold out till I can get my pay check." he said to himself

Why do I miss someone I never met?
With bated breath I lay.

At first, Zoe was unsure if the music came from a club or a high-end bar of some kind. Sure, oceanfront property was expensive, sought after, and it seemed also to have a pretty sound market for individuals if there were flashing lights going on and beginning to make the entire place sound like the central location of a rave. (Not that she had ever attended one of those. Her crowd usually consisted of readers, story-lovers, and people who made adventures from words.)

Curiosity drew her further into the structure, at least to get a look at it. She was given an odd look or two, but after she sensibly put on her shoes, there didn't seem to be too big a problem. Yes... this place was definitely different. She found that she hesitated a bit, unsure of whether she was really curious enough to step inside. She saw the source of the music and she learned a bit more about the demographic of the area by taking note of the people inside, a fair number of whom were dancing, while an equal number of people were seated in pleasant conversation, and a few others were on their own.

Somehow, Zoe wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a club, restaurant, bar, or what... Though that might have been because she was still new here and anything could be anything. That made sense. She wandered inside, though she hovered awkwardly by the walls as she did so. People seemed to be having fun and she didn't note any who asked after her ID. Maybe this wasn't a club? Or would they ask if she ordered something? She shrugged it off and took a seat by what seemed to be an open table. It wasn't far from a stranger who was pale and yet carried himself comfortably. She offered a slight smile and half of a wave, but then would turn away so as to not be a worry that she was staring. Friendly acknowledgement of presence. This was safe.

And all the poetry in the world finally makes sense to me.
Sometimes a dream turns into a dream.

Okay, so there might've been some truth to the whole 'walk may be a little long thing'. Yeah...It was a 30 minute walk. He expected it to be maybe 15, tops. Nope. This resulted in the man half jogging there(he didn't care enough to run) and half speedwalking. It was a bit of a pain in his butt, but what matters was that he got there in time and hadn't forgotten anything of dire importance. However Gideon learned a lot more than how long it took to get to work from home on his way there. He learned the faces of the people of the city. There were more women than men roaming the streets, and statistically, it made sense. Beautiful women and men, busy and happy. He enjoyed seeing that. It was a lot less crowded than the streets of Brazil or his hometown when he seldom visited, but that was alright. Bustling or not, you could have some fun and enjoy yourself with the right people. Or, like him, alone.

Gideon approached the building and fingered his necklace absentmindedly, still humming to himself. It was big and fancy. He'd seen pictures of it on the internet, but didn't expect it to be quite this lavish. It explained the work uniform they had him wear - black dress pants and white button-down shirt, black belt, grey vest, black tie. He liked to wear loose fitting clothing because it was comfortable, but truly Gideon looked good in just about anything. It was safe to say he looked damn good as a bartender, as he had to get a bit dressed up for that.

The sangria haired male made his way inside calmly, his humming dying down as to not bother the patrons of the establishment. There didn't seem to be too many people here. He was sure it would get much more crowded later. The divider sliding wall was pulled back to allow him entrance to the bar, which led back to the break room and exit. He went straight there to find his "cubby" of sorts. It was there he found the employee's restroom and changed into his uniform, coming out with folded clothing he put into a little locker. His phone and wallet were tucked into his pockets, books by his side. It was a science novel of sorts, exploring synthetic biology and its use in dealing with crime. He found it interesting. Gideon emerged from the back room into the bar quietly, finding a series of notes taped to the bottom of the far register hidden by the ledge. On the top was his name in big red letters. He picked it up and read it.

Welcome to the Captain's Deck, Gideon. Hope your Brazil trip went well.
Here I've given you a few notes about ringing up customers and dealing with any questions you might have. I wasn't sure if this was your first time bartending, but you seemed to latch onto the drink mixes nicely.

We have two waitresses and one waiter. Their names are Melody Brooke, Hazel Brown, and Erin Thomson. Do your best to maintain professional yet friendly communication with them, if at all possible. If you have any questions, please consult the notes I've made for you or give me a call. This should pretty much have everything you need.

                                                                  Don't forget to card!

                                                                  - G.M.

He flipped the page and read over the rest of the notes they had left him. It didn't take too long. They were detailed and certainly helpful, but concise and to the point as well. The note told him to go back into the office and get the register key from a desk. He did that and turned it on, unlocking it. The key was returned once he was finished with it. It didn't take a genius to figure out how to work a register. And this one was exclusive to bar drinks. The other servers had their own system to order food and drinks. They'd order from him, he'd make em', they'd put it into their system. However, if someone came in to have a nice drink and sit at his bar, they were all his. Happily. He liked being around people.

Gideon untaped the notes from the register and put it along with his books(the leisure and drink book) on the bottom of the bar's inside ledge for easy access. Behind him, directly to his right were the glasses. Below them was a classy fridge for fruits and garnishes. To the left of that was shelf upon shelf of alcoholic drinks, to which he turned to inspect. Fancy stuff, really. Good quality, and they had a lot of it fully stocked. Lucky people. Too bad he couldn't drink any.

He'd memorized the menu. When you lived a long as he did, especially alone - you knew your drinks. You knew them well. He was prepared to serve things that also weren't on the menu, should they be asked for, too. They also had this cool freezer attached to the fridge for the glasses - it chilled them considerably in the time it took to make them. He thought that was pretty cool, and he was right. It was really freaking cool. Far below freezing, really. He found that out the hard way by opening it up himself. Once Gideon finished his inspection of all the goods, he sighed softly and ran a hand through his fiery hair, toying with a few of his braids. He hummed softly to himself and took to organizing a few things here and there, making sure he knew where the appliances were before taking to polishing the glasses.

Alucard noticed two more people walk in and looked at Zoe first. "Hmm she must be a resident here but i haven't seen her at my district." he said then looked to Gideon. "And he must be the bartender. Maybe i can atleast get something to drink." Alucard said got out of his seat before pushing the chair back under the table and walked over to the bar. "Excuse me, sir i would like a tomato juice non alcoholic." he said as he sat down at the bar and looked at Gideon.

"If dreams can't come true, then why not pretend?"

The first day had been slightly hectic for Hazel, first off her moving truck had somehow ended up at the wrong house. So she couldn't move in currently. However what she could do is work, she had already discussed with the person in charge over email. She had worked as a waitress before so how hard could it be? But her heart couldn't stop racing, this would be her first challenge. Could she hold a job on her own? She's always been somewhat dependent on others. But not she was determined to depend on herself. So with those thoughts in her mind she entered The Captain's Deck.

She arrived somewhat earlier in the day, she had been walking around the city. A smile was on her face when she realized it was partly on the beach, she adored this location. Perhaps other things will go her way as well. She walked into what looked like a small cubby room. She opened the cubby labeled with her name with the key she was sent. She found a white blouse, black skirt that had stopped just above her knees. She slipped on the attire quickly with the added touch of her already wearing black sneakers and leggings underneath. Placing her hair in a high ponytail with her bangs partially hanging out she went back into the restaurant.

"What to do first...hm..." she muttered to herself, she noticed someone working in the bar though. Maybe he could help her or at least give her something to do. So she made her way to the bar, but planned to keep a watchful eye on the dining area incase anyone came in. She entered the bar and she saw him. The bartenders name was Gideon. She noticed a patron at the bar so she decided to keep conversations short for now with co-workers. She walked up to Gideon "Hey, any orders yet? Oh! By the by Im Hazel. I guess we'll be working together!" She said with a friendly tone, maybe she could make some friends here too! Or maybe even something more.

Why do I miss someone I never met?
With bated breath I lay.

Satisfactorily at ease and having contented herself by seeing that she was not being a bother at all, Zoe was able to relax somewhat in the energetic environment of the bar. She found a menu and glanced over it, seeing almost immediately the heavy focus on drinks and alcohol, as there was a much longer menu for these drinks as opposed to edibles, and what there could be ordered as far as food was concerned seemed to be party snack foods, or finger foods that could be taken with you and enjoyed in a relative hurry.

Then... this is a kind of club, isn't it? Zoe thought to herself as she lowered the menu onto the table. Then there was the question... was she really that hungry? Or thirsty, for that matter? She considered this as she drew out some money from her pocket and counted to herself. She knew it wasn't a lot that she brought with her, and this was just because of the principle. One didn't want to be robbed blind in a neighborhood they didn't know. A person could get along fine with just five dollars. Five dollars also wasn't terribly much to lose if someone was desperate enough to rob you for five hundred cents. It was enough for... one thing, if she was hungry enough. She could save so much more by going to the local food market and buying the base ingredients to make something herself.

She frowned and put the money back into her pocket. No need to spend money right here and right now. Perhaps just a glass of water and she could sit back and take the chance to learn more about the people who came to places like this. It was a demographic that she hadn't experienced before. She moved herself over to the bar, where an employee with red hair appeared to be working, though he was engaged currently with talking to a long-haired individual whose... this was curious. The energies of both individuals were different. One seemed only very, very slowly to change, almost imperceptible, while the other she barely could read at all, save that there was more of it than she expected. What kind of individuals were these, if they were so blessed with longevity?

And there was a youthful girl who also went around the bar. Another employee, from what she said, and she was excited for the chance to work with them. Her energies, while vibrant and full, did suggest youth to Zoe's eyes. Yet... there seemed to be no real end to it. How was she so different?

Zoe waited patiently by the bar for her chance to request water. It wasn't a rush.

And all the poetry in the world finally makes sense to me.

Gideon's polishing of glasses came to an abrupt stop when he saw an older man approach the bar, ordering something a bit out of the ordinary. Tomato juice,hm? He enjoyed tomato juice, too. In fact, during the summer Gideon would have a nice glass of it with Blood Mary ice cubes. It was extremely refreshing. "Certainly, sir. I'll have that for you in no time." The sangria haired man responded briskly, turning to pick up a highball glass from the shelf. He opened the freezer and put it in, pressing a button so the cooling process could begin. There truly was nothing better than some tomato juice in a nice, chilled glass. He only wished they kept tomato-juice ice-cubes, too. It wasn't a problem. Gideon could make them himself later.

Once the glass was placed in the cooling device, he walked over to a cabinet where the tomato juice cans were stored, along with several other fruity juices. He popped open the lid with ease, feeding the liquid into a titanium cocktail mixer where some cold ice was deposited from the cooler. Gideon firmly grasped the lid closed with his thumb, shaking it with both hands so the liquid could get nice and chilled. Standard procedure at any bar - your drinks were served nice and cold. After a good thirty seconds and a beep resounding from the contraption, Gideon set the mixer down and produced a cold glass from the freezer, popping the lid so juice flowed into the highball with ease. Very cold and refreshing; didn't need any ice. He garnished it with some mint and produced a coaster for the man, putting it in front of him.

"Please, enjoy." Gideon smiled charmingly, only to have his attention brought away by someone else. While the sangria haired male had been preparing the beverage, he hadn't noticed a coworker walk in and prep. It was only her voice that made him realize someone else had joined him.

Gideon met her gaze and offered her a pleasant smile, putting away the mint and throwing away the can. He put some glasses into the freezer(most poplar ones) before addressing her. The girl had bright eyes and clear skin, along with long wispy hair that accented her sharp, cute features. She looked young. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Hazel. My name is Gideon. Just one order so far." He walked over the the register and digitized it, not pressing confirm to print the receipt just yet in case the man wanted another glass.

He adjusted his tie and leaned to the side, examining the girl with low lidded, calm eyes. She was pretty. "Are you familiar with the other servers, Hazel? Melody Brooke and Erin Thomson? Welcome, by the way. This is my first day. I hope we get along nicely." Gideon grinned fetchingly once more, checking his watch. Unless they were late shifts, they should have been in by now. He didn't stress about it, though. Whether they came or not was up to them, not him. It just meant he wouldn't be able to be fully acquainted with all his coworkers the first day. That meant more work later.

As if able to hear the silent request of another customer, Gideon turned on a heel and approached the woman. His smile was back. "How may I serve you today? Could I interest you in a cocktail?"

Hazel nodded and smiled brightly, she liked him already. As a friend! She wasn't getting into romance anytime soon. After she had went back to the dining area to scope things out she figured it would be alright to stay back here for now, she went behind the bar and automatically went to make two waters for the two seated at the bar. Water was free so why not? She went behind the bar and got out two regular glasses, filling them halfway with ice. She was no cheap stake to try and cheat them with just ice and barely any water. She poured the two cups and then served them to the patrons with a napkin underneath with the name of the place and black skinny straws.

"Here you go~ water's free so don't worry about it. Would you like to order any food?" She asked the two, she fished around the bar and found a notepad and pen to take their orders with.

"Thank you sir." Alucard said then looked at Hazel. "I will take a burger medium rare please." he asked before taking a sip of his tomato juice before turning around and watched the crowd. "I would assume that this place is more lively as time goes on." Alucard said before turning back around and took another sip of his tomato juice and wiped his mouth before removing his gloves and placed them on the bar beside him before he looked up

"This place seems more of a nightclub then a restaurant, so it will get more lively later in the afternoon once most get off their work shifts." She explained as she scribbled down his order, she walked away and went to place the order on the turner in the kitchen she walked back to the bar "The order will be ready soon sir, about fifteen minutes top. I suppose you're new here too?" She asked making some small talk. Always keeping an eye out for new customers though.

She noticed something strange about the two patrons..they didn't seem exactly normal. One looked like he belonged in some retro video game about slaying vampires, the other looked almost ghost like that it was enchanting. But to be fair, was anyone completely normal?

"Yes i arrived in town very recently. This city is a lot better than my previous residence. very lively and interesting creatures from all over the world." Alucard said and took another sip of his tomato juice. "I take it the reason you are asking is you're are new here as well." he said as he sat at the bar lightly tapping his claws against the table while being careful not to pierce the wood with his claws.

"Yep! Came here early this moring, though my moving truck seems to be having lousy luck following. Somehow ended up at the city a few hours away. So Ive spent the day wandering around, the shops aren't too pricey but I left my money in one of my suitcases.." She said with a soft sigh "Though I have enjoyed the city. It's all so new and wonderful. Especially the people, hopefully my truck comes by tonight so I can move in" She noted and began to wipe down some of the counter.

So far so good, she liked the slow and easy atmosphere of this place during the day. She could only wonder what it would be like during the night hours, she was a tad worried about how crazy or lively it would get. Did they have security guards or would police come? She was a waitress so she didn't worry about it too much

"I moved all of my belongings here myself. That way i didn't have to deal with the moving company and so i could keep track of all my things." "Its alright, I think I can manage, plus I don't have any money with me to pay you with. But thank you for the offer Sir."
She said with a small smile. She then left back to the kitchen, it was almost ready so she waited there for a bit. Once ready she placed it on a tray, it looks delicious! She went over back to the bar and placed it in front of him. "Here you go Sir, one burger medium rare. " She said and placed the tray back. "If you need anything else don't be afraid to ask." She informed the man, she enjoyed the job. Interacting with people was one of her strengths. Plus the food here seemed pretty good, maybe she could get a discount.

She looked over to the bartender Gideon, it was interesting to watch him work. She hadn't been to many bars but this one seemed more elegant and fancier then your run of the mill pub. Maybe the snazzy bartender was part of the reason. She caught herself staring at him to much and looked away, she kept busy by memorizing most of the menu.
