Trinity noticed how surprised he was that she could read him. She finished putting away things before sitting down next to him. "I don't care to know what you been through but I do see you as someone to care for. You are in my care and to the world you are my Pokemon. I take the time to find out what my Pokemon like. What will make them more comfortable or what can make them better in battles. I know you don't have any reason to actually listen to me or follow me around. Frankly, I was assuming once we left, Professor Oak's lab, you would of left to go on your own." She said honestly. She didn't think he needed sugar coated words.

Shadow blinked, then stared intently a moment, gauging Trinity for sincerity. He seemed to find what he was looking for, because a moment later his cheeks actually turned a little pink as he glanced away, a voice sounding in her head and that of the other awake Pokémon. "W-Well, I could've left, but that would've meant leaving Torch behind, and I wasn't willing to leave him in the hands of a human who's probably never trained a Fighting-type in her life - it wasn't that I started caring or anything," he insisted. ...On another completely random side note, apparently he wasn't the only person he was horrible at lying to.

Trinity looked at Shadow in shock from hearing his voice. "I have heard of certain Pokemon being able to speck to Humans in their minds. You have a nice voice. And please you know Torch is super cute and he didn't question your aura or how I have you. That's why I choose him out of the other Torchic that my dad's Blaziken had." she said not questioning how he could talk to her in her mind. Trinity smile slightly, "I do and don't have an idea how to train a fighting type from my father but I figured you have a lot more experience being one yourself. I thought to myself that you could help me out without actually battling for me. I'm not sure I will use you in battles or not. Only if you agree to fight I guess. Though, I promise to not really stop you when it comes to Team Rocket but I figure I already told you why I would stop you situations." she said carefully placing a hand on one of his paws. "I'm glad that you chose to stay with me." Trinity said.

Shadow considered this a moment, then nodded gruffly, pretending that his cheeks hadn't gotten a little redder at her offhand compliment to his voice and the feel of her hand on his paw. "F-Fine, I'll battle. I-I mean, it's better than putting Torch n' Saph against opponents they aren't ready for, right?" he "mumbled", trying and failing to conceal the standard Fighting-type eagerness for a good battle. Interestingly enough, he didn't answer that last comment, mostly because he wasn't quite sure what to say to that - he wasn't terribly good with emotions.

Trinity laughed a little, "I'll think about that, but I don't think through is going to be battles that are going to happen that will be challenging for them right now. The route we are on is full of starting out trainers and wild Pokemon that are between the levels of 2-5. The stronger ones tend to still off the path." she said. "Though, I'll choose you for any battle for Team Rocket. I don't want the chance of Jet, Torch, or Saph getting in there hands. Now I think this is enough serious for now don't you think? the trainer joked to the dark/fighting/steel type.
((Hey how do you want Trinity and Shadow to get a mega stone? At the fossil place in Kanto or the trainer school in the town with the first gym?))

(Meh, up to you. Keep in mind, though, that you won't be able to Mega Evolve him right off the bat - the requirements for Mega Evolution are 90 Trust, 90 Affection, 50 Trauma, 25 Restraint. Also, I think the trainer school is in Viridian, not Pewter. Of course, we could also go with option three (and no, I'm not telling you what it is, if you pick it then you'll know it when you see it).)
Shadow nodded, seeming satisfied with that; he didn't want to have to waste his time on weaklings, anyway, and he'd take any chance he could to kick Team Rocket in the gonads (figuratively or literally).

((God dang you know it's going to kill me to want to find out the third option right? Ok I choose number three. And I figured as much I just wanted to know because how cool Mega Lucario looks.))
Trinity smiled at how pleased Shadow looked at the news she gave about team Rocket. "Ok I'm going to bed. Don't stay up too long and Be sure to kill the fire when you come in the tent." she said walking into the tent. She smiled at the three others and was quickly cuddled by Torch and Saph. Jet sleepily slept over her head.

(That's actually why I chose Lucario for my char - I wanted something that could Mega evolve, and I'd managed to narrow it down to either Dark Lucario or Phantom Torchic. I just picked Lucario 'cause he has aura and telepathy. And yes, I know. That's actually part of why I offered it - I'm EBIL like that. EBIIILLL!!! twisted)
Shadow nodded. "Yeah, 'night." He poked at the fire a bit, but eventually put it out and went into the tent as well, heading to sleep as well.

Fortunately, due to the others' company he was able to sleep without nightmares this time.

In the morning, Trinity snuggled in to a furry chest. She then paused in her sleepy mind. thinking over her Pokémon. The only one with fur she could think of was Shadow. Her heart stopped then slowly opened her eyes. She took in her surroundings. Torch and Saph were snuggled in her stomach and Shadow's. Her own face was growing red as her head laid on Shadow's chest right next to the spike. The young trainer looked up to check if he was still asleep and saw Jet looking at her, smirking. She pouted at him as she slowly got out of the cuddle fest. Torch and Saph sleepily cuddled on to Shadow's stomach. Jet fluttered on to Trinity's shoulder. Quickly, she made a note for Shadow to let him know she and Jet were training/gathering berries for breakfast. She pinned it to his spike carefully. Jet was loaded with the same weights and he was told to fly next to her as she looked for berries. Jet helped her. The two of them grew closer. A trainer challenged her to a battle then. Frowning, Trinity nodded and let the trainer toss out his first pokemon. It's a Rattata. Jet did an attack that Trinity didn't know Jet knew. He used a fury attack. She was amazed as he did the attack perfectly with five bows in a row. The Rattata didn't have a chance. The other trainer gritted his teeth then returned his Rattata and sent out his Pidgey. Jet glared at the other flying type. "Jet, use Leer then follow with a peck." Trinity ordered, Jet followed his orders easily. His leer caused the Pidgey to get scaried by him perfect for him to swoop in for a strong peck. The Pidgey cried out then tried to used sand attack. He grunted as sand got in his eyes but he shuck it off. "Fury attack" Trinity said and her bird type won using the move. Trinity smirked as she walked away with the other trainer's money. She noticed that Jet had been battling with his weights the whole time. "You ok there, Jet?" She asked as she picked multiple berries. Jet landed on her shoulder nodding. The two walked back to the camp site and Trinity set out the berries on a blanket.
Sure enough, Shadow soon awoke. He panicked for a brief moment, then calmed down, noting the note on his spike and reading it. Of course, when he went to get up, he was presented with a new issue: when Trinity had left, Torch and Saph had instinctively latched on to the next closest source of heat... and so Shadow found himself pinned down by a pair of sleeping Pokémon in such a way that he couldn't get up without forcefully dislodging them and hurting them/waking them up. Fortunately, he soon spotted Trinity, and his voice resounded in her head. "A little help here?" he "whispered", making sure to exclude the two sleeping Pokémon from his telepathic speech.

Trinity heard Shadow and looked in the tent. She smiled at how helpless he looked. Carefully, She picked up Saph and Torch. The young trainer walked out with them in her arms. Torch slowly woke in her arms and he woke fully when she placed him in front of the pile of berries. Saph though, she kissed his forehead and he woke up. She fed him diced up baby Pokémon food. Jet was eating his berries. Trinity took off the weights to give him a break. He then flew over to Shadow. Smirking, he then started to tell him what happened at night. "So last night, you and Trinity got really close. This morning, she woke up snuggled to your chest." He teased the larger Pokémon. "Come on, Shadow. Jet and I found some good berries." Trinity called to Shadow.
Shadow sighed in relief and got up as well, only to turn a little pink when he heard Jet taunting him. Still, he kept his cool, instead noting privately to the Spearow, "So? If she likes to use my chest as a pillow, that's her business." He paused slightly. "...Er, just out of curiosity, how did she react to that?" he asked casually, maintaining an air of nonchalance that gave away nothing about what he was really thinking, even as he started walking out to meet Trinity and the others.

Jet fluttered on to Shadow's shoulder. "Well she had no problems snuggling up to it but she then connected the dots on who it was she was cuddling up to. She turned the brightest red I have ever seen. I think you might have a chance." the bird said being truthful while also teasing the other. "You are interested in her right?" Jet asked smirking. Trinity finished feeding Saph and started eating some berries as well.
Shadow apparently turned spontaneously deaf at that last bit, pretending not to hear him no matter how much the blush under his fur indicated otherwise. Instead, he joined the others outside, taking some berries with a "Thanks" and starting to eat.
