[NPC] Brown Ititth
3d20 speed

It was clear Banshidheth wasn't quite ready to be caught. Ititth trailed near the back of the pack. He was tired and his muscles were sore. The brown struggled to breath regularly instead of huge gasps. He wasn't landed yet. With a determined grunt he tried to force more speed into his wings.

13, 12, 15, 10, 17, 20
(Rolling for Toughness)

Gohulmordth was dissappointed – Goroth wasn't disemboweled or otherwise injured. He was not liking the pace of the flight as it rose – though he was good at speed, he did not like it. Still, he was going to try...

Banshidheth was, admittedly, a difficult gold to keep up with. Exceptionally large - albeit slender for her size - there were few dragons she could not outlast, if that was her goal. She could fly until her suitors had all dropped out of the sky, but that would be counterproductive. They had followed her gamely, and the time to choose was nearly upon her.

Her rider urged her to decide, but she gave another push, soared just a little higher into the night.

This is painful. Roll your best stat and maybe we can put these guys out of their misery.
(If more than one dragon matches her in the same turn, she'll choose between them.)

Brown Rugarth

(rolling Toughness)

Rugarth was clearly feeling the strain now. He barely resisted panting as he fought to keep his wings pumping at top speed. If all golds flew this long and strong, perhaps there was a reason after all that bronzes typically flew them, But he was larger than average for a brown, and refused to give up yet!

[NPC] Brown Ititth
3d20 toughness because he doesn't have a best stat. DX

The rest of the pack of males were quickly tiring. Ititth hoped the gold would make her choice soon. He doubted that he would have the luck to be chosen, but tried to keep going until the end.

Brown Snalth

His wings ached with the effort he was putting into this, but Snalth knew that he could keep flying. At least for a little while longer. He was a strong brown, steady, and sturdy, but she was even more so. A worthy queen, and he hoped that their efforts were pleasing her.

So close and yet so far! Chest heaving like a bellows Acriculeth fought against his weary wings to race onward after the tantalizingly close gold.

NPC Brown - Goroth (R'gar)
Toughness = 4d20

Goroth was trying but he just wasn't gaining any ground, others moved past him, but he slashed at them as they did, if he couldn't catch her he could at least vent his frustration on others in the hope he would foul them and stop them from catching her.

Brown Gohulmordth
3d20 Strength, 4d20 Speed, 2d20 Toughness

13, 12, 15, 10, 17, 20
(Rolling for speed)

Gohulmordth powered as fast as he could through the air, but he soon found himself falling behind as he began to tire. He bid the queen a mental goodnight and, hopeful of seeing a good ichor rain in the last few stretches of the flight from the ground, spiraled out of the column of dragons.

Toroeth would prove that his slow and steady, his patience and persistence would pay off. Using his large wings and taking a deep breathe in his barrel chest, he pushed his way past all his obstacles like a herdbeast pushing past a barrier. He was within reach and extended his claws. A merry chase, my queen. Those who strove to show off have not won this day.

With a surge, he grabbed her. Will you take patience and loyalty now?

((Oh Toroeth....you were so very very close. XD; ))

As she flew on, one of the browns bespoke her, reached, grabbed. Banshidheth - and her rider below - screamed in rage. Wrath overtook lust, and was projected with her words to all. Patience? Loyalty? You are no better than Goroth! You should have learned from his mistake.

The gold twisted in his grasp and lashed out, all claws and teeth and fury, seeking to shred and break the male who presumed to take her rather than wait to be chosen, to throw him from the sky. If there is anyone who thinks Toroeth worth saving, she broadcast to the dragons of the Wherhold, Catch him.

She screamed again, whipping around to face what males remained, and spat venomously, Is there anyone else?!

____

...angry Queen is angry now! Don't roll this time - she'll choose from the males with one number left, but in her next post.

Goroth laughed as another male was punished... badly by the gold. She spoke a good game about chosing but she soon would be forced to choose the nearest male. He was one dragon who wasn't going to catch the other Brown, let him learn his lesson, still, he was mildly jealous that the brown had been able to grab her in the first place, Browns almost NEVER caught the highest ranking Gold, he wished it had been the Bronze that Banshidheth had shredded though.

Brown Rugarth

Rugarth had been straining, and failing, to get closer, when another brown surged forward. Rugarth saw Toroeth reach and grab for Banshidheth, and he drooped with disappointment and tiredness, thinking the Flight over.

And yet Banshidheth proved again that she would not be taken. She screamed and lashed out at him, causing Rugarth to hurriedly backwing in order to slow his flight, so that he wouldn't crash into them. He glided, wary, as he watched to see what she would do next.

[NPC] Brown Ititth

It was painful to watch another brown close with the gold. He was about to give up and circle down when he heard and felt the gold's rage. His eyes opened wide as the queen turned vicious and tore into the offending brown.

Down below his rider asked him if perhaps he didn't want to reconsider his position now. Ititth hesitated to answer. He didn't think he was really close enough that she would consider him anyhow. Still he felt compelled to answer her question in his gentle voice.

I'm sure they can see it would be unwise Banshidheth. I am sorry. This should have been good for you. He doubted any male would make the mistake again for this Flight. The brown was truly sorry her moment to shine was marred so by greedy males, and he let her feel that. To rest his wings a moment he kitted sideways a bit.

(Such is Life. Poor Toro! )

And he had pushed to far. He let his lust and confidence overcome him with his grab. Bandshidheth turned on him, not pleased by his actions. Gold clashed against brown as she let her displeasure known. Toroeth roared with the pain and floundered in the sky. He managed to ease his landing though it was more a meeting of body and ground. J'rold rushed to his Dragon who was injured but not life threatening.

Red eyes looked up. Good luck to those who continue. Apparently our gold wishes for sacrifice and bloodshed. In truth, Toroeth was angry for letting his pride get the best of him. He would sulk and brood. Hopefully, after the numbweed set in, he would forget.
