"F-For! Hi!" Luxara wobbled a little at her buddy's tugging. But she still smiled, so happy to see a friendly face. "W-when did you get here? Did you...?" Her face fell a little as the tealblood went on and on. Hmmm no. Forera likely hadn't seen Gan. Or else she would be talking about him, right? Luxara swallowed. She'd have to tell Forera the bad news sooner or later. This couldn't happen again; no one deserved that. "Y-yeah, it'd be nice to get all of this off." So much dirt and soot, wet and smeared from her crying.
She kept quiet the rest of the way to the bathroom, wringing her hands a little as she tried to think up what to say. Once she was at the sink, she pulled her dirty old coat off, wrapped it around her waist, and washed her hands...arms...face...wetted her hair and horns a little... "That looks better, I think." Luxara said to the mirror. "But, um, For...before we go...I need to tell you something." If she waited until they were around the others, she might risk crying again in front of THEM, too. Or possibly making her buddy upset around the team. That wasn't nice to do, she thought. So while they were in the bathroom, Luxara told Forera what she could about when she met Ganyma out here, and of course, how he was on the opposite team.
"I don't know what to do, For. If we have friends we're fighting, then...? I-I don't think I like this anymore." She wrung her coat sleeves.

"Oh! Uh, I just got here, ahaha!" She giggled nervously, and led her to the bathroom, the awkward silence heavy in the air when she watched the greenblooded girl wash herself. Forera didn't know what to do when she finished, sliding a hand through her hair and stopping when she heard the words-- 'I need to tell you something.' "Uh... Okay!" She was pretty bad at any other emotion other than her giddy excitement and the petty anger she sometimes felt, so this was a little strange for her-- actually having to deal with the emotion of someone else...
So she stayed silent and while Luxara explained, the fun, exciting illusion of the entire battle shattering into a million pieces.
Forera's expression was unreadable, something mixed between shock and fright, betrayal and disillusionment. She couldn't speak-- her pump biscuit felt like it was being squeezed, and... was that a dull ache in the back of her head? Serpentmom licked her cheek slightly, and Forera was pulled back to the world, hearing the last bits of Luxara's story... That's what it was, right? A story...?
Then again, why would Luxara lie?
Forera pursed her lips. She... she thought... she was helping out... wasn't she? Swallowing nervously, remembering she wasn't the only one here with emotions, she reached over and touched her friends hand, breathing slowly and carefully. It still didn't enter her mind, now... Was this really the game it sounded like it was? Now that Forera thought it logically-- was this... ever a game? She lived life excited for the next thing, uncaring of the two sides of conflict, choosing the one with the nicer flyer... I mean... it did have pretty purple colors...
But they were just colors. Trolls weren't actually discriminated in that way, were they? She... dimly remembered seeing a redblood being screamed at in NHC by some blueblood, but that was just because... they were... weak... Wasn't it? She clenched her teeth, taking a deep breath and pushing away her emotions, realizing she was squeezing her friend's hand a little too hard. "I... I see what you mean..." Her voice-- was it just her, or did it sound a little dull? "Luxy... I..." She wasn't sure what to say. She really didn't know how to respond, for the exact same feelings of how ******** lost she was were erupting through her mind. Tears pricked the corners of her eyes, and all she could do not to start bawling was to close her eyes and breath in calmly. She wouldn't burden Luxara with her feelings right now. She needed help and comfort...
"Hey, hey, I... I'd say we..." She... "...I d-don't know." She stuttered. Why did she stutter? What was this... another lick on her cheek? It was longer than before. When she slid her hand up to rub it off, Forera realized it was actually a teal tear-- not her lusi's tongue. In fact, her lusi was observing this new side of Forera, never having seen it before. She hissed a little then turned away, turning her attention to resting on her shoulder while Forera quickly wiped the tear away. She was strong. Tears were a sign of weakness... then again, Luxara was showing Forera her weakness too. But she hadn't done it intentionally...
"I don't like this either..." She whispered, then sighed. She rubbed her shoulder. She let a small, unfitting smile break onto her face, and all Forera could do right now was pull her friend close and hug her, extremely scared. "M-maybe... we should think about this more later..." She mumbled-- "We should move from here... Who knows what could come..." She said, starting to pull her away too. She felt bad that she didn't know how to respond. But what could she do...? She was just like her, scared and confused, unsure about everything.
She'd have to talk with Ganyma after this finished. If he was still alive... but he would be.
It looked like Vulpin still had company, so Etsali just kept wandering. Might as well revisit some of the other old bases while she was it, she guessed. And here were those giant hives just ahead, the ones they'd had such fun building on before, she couldn't wait to- Her base was gone. And from the ruins she thought there'd probably been another base entirely built over it too. She glanced around warily, in case there were still some rebels about, and then moved forward to rebuild with a little sigh. It wasn't as much fun with no one here to help her build. Maybe she'd go back to the Old Market after this whether those weird recruits were there or not.

Forera was a great friend, and it hurt Luxara to do this to her. She had just dragged the tealblood down with her to his pit of despair. But it was better than letting her be. Ignorance is bliss and all, but...
When Rera came in for the hug, Luxara squeezed back. Hopefully she appreciated the gesture as much as Luxara had. "Yeah, we'll...put this away for a bit. Good plan. Might as well get back to Vul and Ets." She let the blue-haired girl pull her along out of the mall. Then she got on Stagdad and offered to let Forera ride along, too. They would get back quicker that way.
When they found Vulpin he was...tied up? But surrounded by new friends? How confusing."Vul! What the HECK?!" Luxara jumped off her lusus and ran to his side. "What happened to you? Did you get wrangled or something?" She couldn't help but smile at how ridiculous this was. She even let out a little giggle. "Ohhhh dear. Hold still, I'll get you out of this..." She started working through the knot, mumbling about what the HECKY goes on when she's not around.
The base didn't quite look good enough yet, so Etsali put a little more work into it. While she was working, though, she suddenly got a chill. Something felt very weird about this place all of a sudden, didn't it? Deciding her work would hold, she and Keeper scurried off before anything strange could happen.

His new minions stared at him strangely. He ordered them to untie him, then pleaded, then begged. None of them were particularly interested in helping him, if fact most of them were focused on building some sort of fire contraption for cooking. Vulpin didn't understand the severity of his situation until his recruits hoisted him into the air and started to carry him over to the fire.
The trolls noticed the sounds of footsteps, dropped Vulpin, and scattered. Vulpin fell face-first into the ground. He shrieked happily when his teammates rounded the corner and Luxara began to untie him. She may have giggled at his situation but it would all be explained in due time. He would finally be free from these horrible binds!

Forera felt a little angry at the world right now, but kept her opinion to herself, expression the default happiness... but anyone could see she didn't look the same as she did before. She needed to rethink a lot of things now, starting from number 1-- her life. But that path was not for now. It was for later... She needed to think long and hard about this. Nodding at Luxara's words, Forera led her away, taking up the ride she offered with stagdad, letting her mind wander for a bit.
So the base she built at that theatre... was for her friend's enemies?

The showground she loved so much was made for the express purpose of going against her friends? Her pals, the people she cared for since... well... since she first arrived in NHC. Ganyma... was her fighting buddy... the thought that crossed her mind when she found the grounds... she thought she could've fought him there. But not anymore. If she stayed the way she was... she would have to kill him... and she couldn't do that. He was one of her best pals. They fought together. And he won. That in itself should explain everything...

And those residences too... she had spent so much time on them... only to regret because they were her friend's? She should've felt proud... but all she felt right now was a dull depression.
Was this how the military was? It sabotaged the minds of mindless children... like herself... and... made them believe they were helping, when they were really going against the trolls they cared for?
Forera couldn't finish her thought process, because they'd arrived at the place where they were before. She looked around then blinked at Vulpin still on the floor, sliding off Luxara's dad and feeling the same dull, unfeeling smile grace her features. Serpentmom wrapped herself a little tighter around her neck, nuzzling into her charges neck, trying to make her feel better. Walking up to Luxara, she grabbed her hand, pulling it away from the knot, bent down and retied it, looking up toward Luxara. "Hey, Luxy, today's Girl's Night. We were gonna paint our faces with makeup 'nd stuff. Wanna join in? I dunnknow where Etsali is... we need to make Vul look amaazzinnggg!" Her normal vigor was dulled, but she hoped no one would notice.

"Well, I haven't really painted my face before...unless you mean like with mud? I've done that! It's good for blending in to your surroundings! But..." Considering the colorful paint on Forera's face, prrrrobably not. "Do you usually tie people up for this? Cuz Vul doesn't seem too excited about that." She wasn't sure. Something about this felt...iffy. "Can't we untie him and someone can hold him still or something?" Vulpin could be a big snobby baby sometimes, but this just seemed wrong.
It's a new day! The fighting has slowed; the forces on each side are becoming tired in spirit and resource. Captain Puchen has made it her duty to visit each team in the field to "raise morale".
"Attention, troops! Your attempts at quelling the rebels have been pathetic! Surely you see that their numbers dwindle, compared to us? So why, I ask myself, are we LOSING GROUND?"
She stalks in front of your group, shooting icy eye contact in every direction. "This is unacceptable. A disgrace to the Alternian Military. The rebellion should be a smear on the ground. I want to see each of you in the base or on the field, working your nubs off for the glory of Alternia. Do you hear me, recruits? No more of this messing around. Take them out, now."
Today's Happenstance(s):
Mapuye's Warcry applied to Royalist Troops today only: 1: Gain 1 additional action per troll, and 1 additional action per extra page. 2: Add 1D6 to all construction rolls 3: Add 1D6 to all demolition rolls 4: Add 1D6 to all recruiting rolls 5: Pick any coordinate on the map to unlock. This effect can be used once per page. 6: You can mobilize troops from one friendly coordinate to two coordinates (friendly or enemy) at once with one action. (The effect rolled in this thread only applies to the team the thread belongs to)
Members of the Royalist and Rebel Teams can roll 1D6 once every hour in the Coastal Base or the Wooded Sanctuary thread to assist the wounded in the medical bay. The corresponding number will subtract from the number of wounded, and at 0 this effect will go away. If a 6 is rolled, a new action can be taken. These posts must be accompanied by RP text.
Each troll is refreshed and ready to go with 2 available actions.
ALSO:Trolls with the journeytroll intelligence ability: Since so many coordinates have been unlocked, many re-rolls have been necessary to get a unique coordinate. But no more! The new ruling on the journeytroll intelligence ability is this:
Each re-roll will increase in numbers by 2D6. So, if you don't find a coordinate on your first 2D6 roll, roll 2D6 again. If there are no unique numbers, roll 4D6. Then 6D6, etc. The FIRST unique coordinate unlocked will be considered the new coordinate. So: Bobbie rolled 4D6 and got 2,2, 5,5 and both sets of coordinates are unique. She ONLY unlocks [2,2].
IMPORTANT:The last official day of the Territory Game will be on Sunday. Come Monday's refresh, the mechanics of the game will cease as the scores are tallied, the threads are reviewed, and we prepare for the final phase of the meta. You will still be welcome to RP in the team threads, but please plan your actions accordingly!
Refreshers: POSSIBLE ACTIONS ARE:
Build: Roll 1D6 to build on a coordinate that you have unlocked – the roll result determines the durability of the base. You can also build on friendly bases to add durability, up to a maximum of 30 durability. You cannot build on a coordinate that already has an enemy base on it. Trolls with training in Construction get a bonus to their roll: Apprentice: Roll 2D6 Journeytroll: Roll 3D6 Master: Roll 4D6 Grandmaster: Roll 5D6
Rally: Roll 1D6 to organize defenders, which can be assigned to any coordinate you have unlocked. The roll result determines the amount of defenders you have rallied. Defenders will be on stand-by until you mobilize them. Defenders are the second level of defense that can be assigned to protect a base. You must use defenders to take out defenders if you want to demolish an enemy base! Trolls with training in Recruiting get a bonus to their roll: Apprentice: Roll 2D6 Journeytroll: Roll 3D6 Master: Roll 4D6 Grandmaster: Roll 5D6 Demolish: Roll 1D6 to destroy a base on a coordinate that you have unlocked – the roll result determines the amount of damage done to the durability of the base. At 0 durability, the base is destroyed. You cannot demolish a base with defenders assigned to it. Trolls with training in Demolition get a bonus to their roll: Apprentice: Roll 2D6 Journeytroll: Roll 3D6 Master: Roll 4D6 Grandmaster: Roll 5D6
Intelligence: Roll a new coordinate (2D6). If you roll a coordinate you have already unlocked, the roll is wasted. Trolls with training in Intelligence get a bonus to their rolls: Apprentice: Roll 2 new coordinates (4D6) Journeytroll: Roll 2 new coordinates (4D6); if at least 1 of the coordinates is not unique, re-roll. Master: Journeytroll effect OR select one new coordinate from another team and unlock it. You must post with roleplay in your own thread and the other team’s thread for this to take effect. Grandmaster: Journeytroll effect OR Master effect OR… Roll 1 coordinate (2D6). If your allies control the coordinate rolled: add 5 durability and 5 defenders to that coordinate (may surpass the maximum durability/defender limit by 5). If your opponents control the coordinate rolled: it loses 5 durability and 5 recruits (does not apply if the numbers would decrease past 0). You additionally unlock the coordinate.
Mobilize: Choose one of two options: 1. Send defenders from your stand-by or a friendly-base you control to any friendly-base on a coordinate that you have unlocked. 2. Assault an enemy-controlled coordinate that you have unlocked using defenders from a friendly base. Defenders must be deployed to a base before they can assault an enemy base and cannot attack directly from your standby.
POST IN THE WAR ROOM THREAD IF:
You build a new base on a coordinate You reinforce a friendly base You assign defenders to a base You assault a base You do damage to a base You destroy a base You use the Grandmaster Intelligence perk to affect a base
With a little extra building done on the way, Etsali ambled idly back towards the Old Market base where she'd left Vulpin. He was probably untied by now and they could laugh it off and go find the others! Or maybe Forera and Luxara would already be back? The city was kind of tense now, with all the explosions and all that kept happening, and while building bases was still interesting, she had an urge to stick closer to her team while she worked from now on. At least then there'd be more of them to fight if rebels tried to come after them.
As she rounded the corner towards the market, she was rewarded by the sight of all three teammates and immediately brightened. "Hey, you came back! Are we gonna have our girl's night now or-" She paused, eyes widening as she caught movement in the corner of her eye. A turn of the head revealed Captain Puchen herself marching down the street towards them. Oh. Oh, she didn't look happy. And since she was in charge, that couldn't bode well for those rewards the thief had joined up for.
She looked back at Forera and Luxara, and then down at Vulpin, and gulped. This wasn't going to look good at all, oh no. Thinking quickly, she grabbed the girls and pulled them to her side, making a neat little line inbetween the oncoming Captain and the subdued orangeblood. Now she wouldn't be able to see him...right? Maybe. She didn't say anything about it, at least, but her words were harsh nonetheless. Wincing, Etsali considered them and glanced over once the scary woman was gone.
"I guess...I guess we have to do more then!" It was oddly tempting to run away, but they'd seen her face and they'd find her. "So maybe we should try...knocking things down some too?"

"HEY GUYS WHO WANTS TO HELP THE ROYAL CAUSE SO OUR LEADER DOESN'T EAT US?" Luxara called frantically after the terrifying blueblood had left the group alone. She giggled nervously, close to hysterics again. "I MEAN I JUST REALLY DON'T WANT TO BE YELLED ANYMORE? THERE'S...FREE FOOD AND WAR PAINT. I think."
Either her cuteness, obvious distress, or the free food won some trolls over. But it was probably the free food.
