Itherael nodded his head in acceptance of the ordeal, and looked onto the scene being played out; his interference in this matter was done, and he stuck to what he did best when in the mortal world; observe and record, which he wanted to make sure he had for this moment since his Scroll had nothing on this Aurora girl, and it made him shutter at the thought. This could - no, was - the turning point of an era, whether it was good or bad, even he could not tell for certain... When Aurora saw the man walk up to them, his hood hiding his face, which surprised her a little, straightened up and tried to clear the tears away. "C-can I help you s-sir?" The man remained silent for a moment before kneeling down a little to their height; the woman was surprised by how big he was. "Are you Aurora Shonryu?" At first, she was confused as to why he was asking, but then remembered that there was an investigation going on and replied. "Y-yes, sir." "Good..." He reached behind him and pulled out a wrapped blade, which made her back off just in case until he placed the tip on the ground before her. "What can you tell me of this blade?" Now she was completely flabbergasted about THAT particular question. Seeing no real harm in it, she unwrapped it and made it visible for the few watching them, which wasn't anyone of the mortal plane. Her teary eyes widened as she got a good look at the blade before her; the handle down to the 'cross' seemed to be pure golden as the sharp edges glistened and, when she ran her finger down it a little, noticed that it could still draw blood. What really got her interest was the shining center of the 'cross' above the handle and below the actual blade that glowed and flashed endlessly. "Um... may I?" "Heheh, of course..." He let her have the handle, and her body pulsed from the power surging through her arms and into her body. 'Just what is this sword? It feels so bright and.... it must not belong of this plane!!' When she lifted the blade off of the ground, it didn't seem too heavy, but it wasn't lightweight either, the balance being just perfect for a two-handed sword. After a few slow swings of it, her real smile was making it's way back onto her face, then she noticed that she was still around people, and her face went red from embarrassment. "Sorry sir..." She tried to give the blade back, but he stopped her. "No, please keep it. Circumstances dictate that I cannot continue on with my duties anymore, and with no children to continue, I have watched many people here to see whom among them could continue on my duties." "But.... why me?" A smile could be felt from the hooded man as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "Because you cried for another. Many people can cry for personal pain, but pure-hearted individuals shed tears for the sake of others. And you truly have a pure heart. I want you to have this blade, but I want something in return.... I want you to continue my duties and spread Justice to the world." Something would seem odd for Derrick if he was still focused on the conversation as, unseen by any mere mortal, his hand on her arm was transferring something to her, which soon ended when Aurora replied. "Yes, I will continue to spread Justice, and to protect the innocent." With a nod, he stood up and turned his head to Derrick. "You are destined for many a great things, Derrick, and I wish you the best on your path with Faith." Now THAT should be ringing some bells as he normally should NOT know about something like that. But before anyone could ask, he turned and walked through a crowd, which, when it parted a few seconds later, he was.... gone. This threw Aurora in for a loop, a hundred questions running through his head in a minute. Just who was the man?

Darrick was wide eyed and sweat ran down his face. He didn't know who that man was either, but he knew more then most by what he said, maybe even the answers Darrick was trying to find himself. Then he looked to the blade that the man left aurora. He stood and stepped beside her, "that man... this sword..." his eyes went wide and he suddenly shot his head in the direction Percillia and Itherael were, even though he couldn't not see them. Percillia's head turned to the side, she then gave a nod. He could feel her there, her guidance was clearly working and now it seemed two unlikely fates were going to be together. Percillia looked to Itherael one last time and without her lips moving a voice was heard, " Together these two will clean dis-judgement from those who dear to place it in their own hands. I don't not have to be of Fate to know this. For I have chosen a child who could not be judged, and it seems my highest ranking had chosen a successor of his own to aid that same cause. One will stand for the people, and the other..." she turned to head away as two large wings appeared from her back, one black wing, one white wing and as she disappeared the words echoed, "will keep the demons at bay..."
And now Darrick and Aurora would have noticed everyone was staring at them. Darrick was quick to shoo Aurora back to her room where they could safely converse, whatever it was that happened, this investigation was probably over now. He had a feeling so to speak. As they entered the room Darrick placed his back to the door and slid down it to a sitting position. "That women... the one I'm looking for, she was here... I felt it." He mumbled, "that man was somehow connected, because he knew of what odd connections I feel to things even I don't understand. He had answers, and something tells me to questions I may not ever have answered." He looked to Aurora with a serious expression, "It could be possible that that man who presented that blade to you was ahead over everything. That he was the mastermind behind the tornimate, the church... he must have seen our fight in that ring." He was more or less just saying empty words though through his lips, his mind was wondering to the blade the entire time, and what connections he may have had to it. He held out his hand, "may I see the blade for a moment?"

Aurora was confused as all hell when Derrick pushed them to her room, then finally tuned in on Derrick's rambling. "No, he wasn't the Arch Bishop. The Church has dozens of these academies around the country, plus I've met the man personally when he visited my family years ago...." When he asked to see the blade, she felt hesitant, like it was a part of her now after such a short time, then she felt a pulse from the blade again and it calmed her. "Just... be careful with it. It feels different from anything else." When the blade would reach his hand, he too would feel the pulse from the blade, it's power almost threatening to overwhelm him, like he was being judged. After a few seconds, it receded back to the blade, and the light from the center piece reverted back to being a glow.

*Darrick looked over it carfully, now even more confused. What was this he felt when he held it... what was it about this blade that made it so... He carfully took a few swings... it was heavy, but not too heavy. He studied the swords disgn carfully and turned it back and forth before nodded and handed it back, "we should keep this to ourselves then... the blade part. At least till we know what it is, and why you now have it." Boy was confused now. He thought he was then, but not now, now he was worse. He stood up though, "alright I think we have a heading on a new objective. Figure some information out. Does this church hold any forbidden books or anything like that you may know of?"

"Um... we don't have any kind of forbidden books, there's the old tomes in the library we can try. Come on." With that, he pulled dragged led him towards the library section of the academy, then shooed him down the isles until they came to the copies of the oldest tomes the order had. "What is it your looking for here?"

Darrick glanced to her then back, "an explanation." He started to search the books, seeing if there was anything percificly on old special weapons, or maybe even the history of the place. To see if there were any recordings that might tie with who that man was or maybe even the blade he gave them. It was just a feeling, but again, that was a lot to him.

Most of the old tomes didn't have much, but when it got to the origins of the Paladin Order, things started to connect... "The Paladin Order began in the First Millennium, the turning point of the age, when several beings descended from the Heavens, calling themselves Arch Angels, and gifted Man with the power to fight the darkness with their divine Light. Each Order tied to the Church was in honor of the Arch Angels themselves, the Paladin Order being the most successful of them all with their 6th sense of delivering true justice and protecting the innocent, as was the single order given upon them by the Arch Angel, Mana, whom had approached a group of apprentices, one standing out as Tyrael, whom, for his services, was deemed to become her Angel of Justice...""Wait... that picture!" Aurora had to interrupt Derrick's reading to point out one of the many pictures that was detailing that day, and had her finger hovering over one that showed a woman with wings and a scale behind her, used to mark her as the Arch Angel of Judgment, bestowing the sword in Aurora's current possession to a man in armor with a hood concealing his face. "El'Druin, the Sword of Justice." This brought up as man questions as it did answers.

Darrick nodded. "There's more here... but not on that subject... maybe it connects somehow..." he read on:
From the First Millennium of the Arch Angels, came after the choosing of the Angel of Justice the first judgment of an angel appeared among a counsel. It seemed that one of the Arch Angels had been able to cheat the rules of heaven and therefor was judged by the lord himself and sent to the hells for his horrible and secretive sins, this being Lucifer The Dark Angel. From that time it was deemed that no longer where there to be eight lights of the heavens, but seven.
Darrick thought about what he read... "that means that after the Angel of Justice was chosen, he found one of the Arch Angels were dirty, therefor he was cast down to hell... Lucifer..." He looked to the blade, "and that sword is exactly the thing that sent him there... which means..." he looked to her meeting eye to eye with interest.

"Oh crap. Could there be another corrupt Arch Angel? And whom?! And why me?!!" Aurora couldn't comprehend anything anymore due to the shock of the knowledge acquired today. She was crowned to become the next Angel of Justice, but it wasn't by Mana; she died almost a millennium ago, and there was no known replacement yet. So why did Tyrael choose her, of all people? Steam exploded from the top of her head, causing her to pass out from the mental exhaustion.

Darrick put the book back and gave a nod, "that is what I call Fate. Now learning the reason you were chosen for is something entirely different." He closed his eyes, "even so all answers come In time just like mine will." He looked to her, "the real question is what to do now. Sword or no sword, where should we head. My faith isn't really speaking right now. He frowned. But surly enough they were being observed. And there was a smile upon them.

As Aurora was recovering from her little 'nap', a paladin approached them and looked to the confused trainees. "You are both needed to speak before the high paladins. Please, follow me..." As the trainees followed, he noticed nothing out of the ordinary with her blade, since no one really paid any attention to it's true identity or it's history. It was a few minutes later that they stood before several veteran paladins, adorned in decorated armor that represented each Church dedicated to the Arch Angels, but Justice was not present.

Darrick was unsure what to do or say here. He dicided to keep his mouth shut, he wasn't here because he earned it or nothing like that. No, it was about Asura. And that was certain. Perhaps they were going to re-issue the test or something since it was staged aginst them. But then again, maybe not. It was rather intimidating in this place. He glared carfully keeping notice on just about everything.

"Aurora Shonryu, you and your partner Darrick were assaulted during the exam, and yet even though we should not be considering this legally, you have impressed us immensely." Aurora was looking at them, bug eyed and confused as all hell. "Aurora, despite that the test's weapons were.... altered, you managed to keep your charge protected until we had intervened. Darrick, even though the attackers were ignoring you, you did the right thing and rushed in to assist your 'protector' until we came along. You have both done well, and by the majority agreement of us High Paladins, we would like to bestow Aurora, should she choose to accept, full status as Apprentice Paladin." At that moment, the world seemed to fade away for Aurora, letting the words register into her brain. One moment of silence.... two.........three...... "YES!!" The newly named apprentice screamed into the air, bouncing around in screams of joy, and surprisingly kissing Darrick from the high of the moment. After she calmed herself, the kiss registered and her face went red of embarrassment. "S-s-sorry Darrick."

Darrick blinked. His first kiss, and yet he wasn't sure how to act. Why was she red faced? He shrugged, "congraz Asura. I told you that you could do it." He replied. Still no smile however, even in the enlightenment of the moment. He placed his hands to his sides and turned half way and glanced to each of the paladin's. Did they know about the weapon? Why was there one missing? More importantly, why was he invited in here. He wasn't gaining anything as a title or anything like that. Just his friend was. Still he had to agree he was glad to have been there however, letting the kiss off his mind like it never happened... for now. Later... it would bug him. What did I mean?
