Approach the pack of wolves, she drew her two daggers in reverse mode. She take a stance, then silently dash towards them to give an attack combo, until the pack of wolves start charging towards her back. Lisa quickly turn her head, then she evade by flip backward, then throws the kunais to pierce them. She landed on her feet as the whole pack disappeared by white light. She sigh and open her player menu and check the request menu and check her starter requests, she complete all of them. Kuhaku approached an NPC with fighter's gear and looked around, having accepted his class quest without a second thought. There were 1000 players playing in this game, divide that by the probability that each class is equal in numbers...damn. That's still too many players to fight over mobs for. Just hang in there Shiro. After this, we will be all good and people will start spreading apart in this virtual world. He looked at his quest once more. Hogs? He has to slay 3 hogs for his class quest? He brought up his menu and began to look at his stats. No matter how realistic this world is, it's still controlled by parameters, by numbers...
Kuhaku didn't hear Dahlia when she mentioned there being a timer in the options menu, but heard her question while looking through the multiple menus, including his inventory. "Ah. I'm ready to go." His tone in his voice made him sound more serious than excited. He closed out of his menu and paused, not bother to look at the level one quest. He grabbed Dahlia's hand and started running out the gate, "Let the game begin."

Magnus sheathed his sword by his waist and approached Dima as soon as he checked his EXP bar, and the little profit that he shared with Dima. As she approached him with health potion in hand, he sheepishly accepted it and then consumed the contents, watching his HP bar rise back up. "Thanks," he muttered, a little embarrassed at his poor performance. Being confident with nothing to show for it was always an embarrassing thing for him.
"That skill in archery of yours is astounding. I'm sure you did archery outside the game too. Someone who hasn't done archery in real life wouldn't be as skilled as you are in a VRMMO. Magnus said, trying to shift attention from himself to Dima. Though... asking about personal information may have been a bit of a leap. He decided of topics to switch to once Dima shows discomfort about his inquiry.
Though, as he did, he pondered. What WAS his long-term plan in this game? It certainly wasn't to just 'try it out'. "I don't know yet. Probably to just make the best out of my time here, you know?" He answered, before nodding as he made mental notes of Dima's synergy. "Good thing we paired up, huh? I happen to operate better with archers or mages. I like to be in front so the people in the back won't have to worry about a thing. But yes, having someone who has healing capability would be nice... maybe during or after the banquet, we can look around for people who want to team up?" Magnus suggested, idly handing Dima some sort of crafting material that he got from the wolves.
"This thing is apparently used to make some nice beginner gear but... the list doesn't show anything a fighter would need."

Rilo sat in a nearby tree as he watched the young woman dispatch the wolves with haste. When she whipped around to see him, he smiled and spoke up. "That was very impressive, dear!" he said as he dropped down from the tree "Not the most roguish way to dispatch with the filth, but effective nonetheless." He spoke as the wolf carcass' drifted away."Though, I must admit, you followed me quite stealthily back in town" he stated, pulling the hood off of his head to reveal the whit top-knot and blue skin underneath.

She look on her upper left, her level increased to 1 to 5, probably because of her quest, she only have few more EXP to reach to level 6. She open her player menu once again to check on her stats; her attack and defense with special attack and defense increased, health point increased. She notice she increased cunning, dexterity, and stamina. She check all of inventories, she have wolves pelt, fur, and fangs, she have to sell them or forge them with few weapons. When the elf mention about her following her back in town, she stopped for short moment, she gave him monotone glaze, then she close her player menu and check her time in Japan, she need to have to log out soon for dinner she have to make before her parents return, "I need to get those weapons and upgrade them, but why is this elf rogue wanted to talk to me for?" she thought as she unstealth her twin daggers. She look at the elf man again, then silently walk pass him without giving him a reply.

Dima raised a brow at his comment on her archery and replied with a shrug, "I always pick the archery class in MMOs when available, I'm sure by now I've learned some tricks of the trade with the the class. Besides, Dima doesn't exist in the real world-there is no real connections between the player and actual person, I'm sure."
She listened as he changed the subject to his plan which was to 'make the best' out of his time there. "So, you want to team up, permanently then? I suppose we could start a guild. It is likely some of the other bloggers will contact me after the banquet for a guild, you know. We've worked together before, and since we make it a habit to know games we tend to get through quicker. I'm not particularly interested in teaming up with them, this time, but I plan to keep up at the very least."
She laughed, "Would sound like I'm the one trying to drag you around in that case." Looking at the material he handed her from the wolf she pulled up the menu and said, "Hmm... wolf's hide. Good for making bow strings, go figure. I suppose the logic is it is technically a leather sort. That can increase power of a bow. I'd say it is worth the exchange for that potion-though selling it sounds like the best choice, I'll save up for a bow worth investing in," She added.
"Metals would probably be what fighters need, right? And, I'm looking for similar along with wood... wait there's a bow you can get with some platinum, gold, and a sapphire, along with wood and a frog heart." She showed him the bow in her menu and said with a big smile, "Now that is pretty and has some nice stats. I think I've fallen in love. If I grind right, I'm pretty sure I can get this in a few hours tops."
"Anything you have your eye on?" She added still admiring the bow option she had found. "Upgrading weapons, I feel is a good starting priority. And in doing that you gain experience points and some money along the way, seems like a win to me."
She arched an eyebrow as she watched him sorting through his menus. When he talked, he sounded so serious, especially for the start to the game, but it was refreshing. Better than staying around people who had no idea what they were doing. A small gust of wind came by, she she ran a hand through her hair in an effort to keep it from tangling, but Kuhaku unexpectedly grabbed her other hand. Dahlia's eyes widened as she felt herself suddenly being pulled forward by him. Catching her balance, she started to run after him and keep up with him so he wouldn't pull on her arm too much. As they passed the gate, she heard him say to let the games begin. Not able to help it, she let out a small laugh, but it was caught by the wind, and she doubt he heard it.
After running for about ten minutes, they finally made it to a small are where some people were sprinkled around in various spots. She pulled on hid hand slightly so he would stop. "One minute, let me check..." Quickly opening her quest menu, she looked at the small marker to make sure they were at the right spawn point. A small smile pulled at the corner of her lips as she saw the small pink light blinking, indicating they were at the spot. "It seems we made it here." she said before looking up at him. "Ready to get started?" she asked. Though the hogs were a low level monster, it would at least give them some practice with their skills. Now that she thought about it, she hadn't even looked at her skills list in depth... Closing the quest window, she instead opened her skills. Biting her lip lightly, she scrolled through the skills. 'Myriad Strike..?' Dahlia quickly read the short summary of the skill before closing the menu. She would probably test that out a bit later.

Rend also exited the town gates. He had played games that rewarded players for fully exploring towns, but he could try that later when it was less crowded. For now, he decided to leave town and test out the combat.
I wonder how spells work here. He stopped briefly and started scrolling through his menu. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw someone (some sort of swordsman class, it seemed) going away from town along a path less traveled by the other players. "Looks like he has the right idea."
Having gotten the basic gist of the system anyway (practice makes perfect...), he closed the menu and started off in the same general direction. He intended to diverge from that later rather than follow his fellow player completely; early-game clingers-on were fairly annoying in his mind.

Kuhaku quickly let go oh Dahlia's hand, scratching the back of his head as he looked around at the hogs, "Sure thing. Let's get started." He walked over to the side of the hog, taking a deep breath before quickly drawing out his long bladed katana and slashing at it. He pulled aggro from the hog, the hog snorting out from his nostrils and charging at Kuhaku. He simply smirked and thrusted his katana forward into the hog's mouth for a critical. Unfortunately, the hog was still alive with a little bit of health left, "Uhhh, Dahlia-chan. Could you do me a favor and poke this pig with your sword? Pretty please?" he asked the second sentence with a cute joking tone.

"If it isn't too much to ask, yes, I'd like to team up permanently. Having someone to rely on when the game gets a little too challenging is always great. And making a guild wasn't too far off my plans. It takes quite a hefty amount of money to start one, though I doubt we'll have money problems when we really get the ball rolling." Magnus said, then pulled up his menu and browsed through the items he can create through the crafting stations in major cities/settlements.
Magnus looked at the bow she had taken a liking to, and he nodded in agreement. It looked appealing and the stats were very nice. "Metals... some crystal fragments... Somewhere later a dragon scale. For now though, I can get this one within a few hours." Magnus showed Dima a simple-looking sword, but the strength stat it gave was enormous. "Now that I think about it... we should gather as much crafting materials as we could pass by. Not only do we get a small pool of experience for gathering, we can make money AND have superb weapons." Magnus seemed excited over the rather simple idea, but it shows how much he's missed playing games.

Dima put her hands on her hips and cocked her head as he said he wanted to team up permanently and having someone to rely on when the game gets a little too challenging was helpful. In addition he was interested in making a guild. "Hmm... so were you planning on being guild leader? Hell, it looks better with a fighter class anyways. Teaming up sounds good but I get an extra vote in every group decision. And of course, my blogging activities are classified, if they know it fine, but if they don't well... they don't need to know. Start thinking up guild names if those terms work for you."
Leaning over she looked at the sword that Magnus pulled up. It had impressive strength but it didn't help at all with agility or speed-if anything it would hinder it. Of course the bow she had her eye on increased accuracy, practically tripled a standard range, and gave a small boost on strength. "Simple but sturdy," She agreed on the sword. "Any of its weaknesses is easily countered with an archer, especially if I get that bow I have my eye on. Gives you a hair of a boost on your range too. Gathering sounds good, but don't forget upgrading armor is useful, especially for you with any armor that is good with defense. If I'm lucky I'll run into my go-to man for selling stuff. I never fail to be impressed with his ability in MMOs to manage to get a hold of about anything and sell anything too. Actually it is sort of disturbing considering who he actually is."
The guy she was referring to was an economics major who seemed to make more of his goal in games to make as much money as possible than to actually beat them. She was pretty sure he had figured out her real identity a long time ago, they just never paid attention to each other in real life as they hung with different crowds, and out of common courtesy they never busted each other's non-gaming connection. They might not exactly be friends in any situation, but they tended to make business relationships often-he gets her what she wants and sells what she doesn't, in exchange she helps him track down anything he is looking for, for someone else. And, in the end he made a fortune being the middle man with decent profits and connections to rarer items for her.
"But, more importantly experience, money, and having superb weapons," Dima added with a large smile at Magnus, taking down her menu screen, "now you're speaking my language. Lead the way, Captain," she ended with an exaggerated bow before she put her bow back on her back.
Dahlia sat back, crossing her arms as she watched him attack the hog. Every time he brought his sword down at an elegant arc, she could tell he was enjoying it. She was waiting for the hog to disappear in a cloud of pixels, but instead he only reduced its health critically and into the red zone. Arching an eyebrow, she briefly wondered why the attack had been a bit weaker than usual, but it was probably because they were still such a low level. When he asked for her help, she smirked slightly and stepped forward and drew her sword from it's sheath and quickly stepped forward. Taking a deep breath, she then brought up her sword and with quick movements stabbed her sword forward a few times quickly, only going for the fatal points. After her third quick strike she jumped back and sheathed her sword as she hog suddenly froze and then started to break apart into fragments of pixels, and then finally disappeared. "Well, one down and two more to go!" she said happily as she looked over at Kuhaku. Adrenaline coursed through her, and it made her feel that much more alive, though games always had that effect on her. She did love this game's battle system though, since it made an effort to make everything more real for the player.
