Okay, this was too far.

Roar was already causing enough trouble before the blue went for her. When Commander charged and tackled the green off Yevalee (with obviously no consideration for the young man she was standing on), Seytev hollered.

"Hey!" he snapped. And then the tangle of wings, this one far less innocent and playful, headed for Deruvene, he moved. Rushing toward the tangle, he positioned himself between the babies and Deru and planted his feet. "Come on, really?" he snapped. "Cut it out! You're hurting people!"

"Yevalee, you okay?" he asked, reluctant to move. "Someone call the Healers!"

She just playing, she’ll get bored, she’ll get off, keep it together and don’t panic. First it was calmness of okay, not dead, he more she stayed on him, the more heat of the sands baked his skin and the more difficult it was not to panic and

Claws were digging and it was jarring and spots swam as he bit down on his lip, trying to keep from crying out and drawing blood as the dragonet ripped skin. He shudder, giving a soft hiccup as he tried to figure out if it was safe to move.

She had climbed a candidate... Oh shaff you go little girl! Jasiline had tears coming from her eyes as she burst into laughter. "Oh shaff off!" She gasped and playfully punched Brishen's shoulder. "I blame growing up around whers." Her ribs ached. Something about seeing that little green (who she was already enamored with) claim her victim so proudly had just set her off into a fit of giggles. It was a beautiful sight.

Well until one of the candidate's got between the fighting pair and the hatchlings. Jasiline sat forward in her seat, all business but with a wicked light in her eyes. "Ohhh buddy that was not smart." Maulings she could live with (especially if they were funny!) but she did not want to see someone die with so few dragons on the Sands.

Unnoticed in the chaos of squabbling hatchlings, a pale blue egg had been gently cracking throughout the fight - and now the egg hatched very quietly and gently. The vivid green dragon inside simply stepped out of the shell, butterfly-like wings unfolding as she took a look around, blue eyes blinking. After a moment, her eyes narrowed on the fighting blue and green - that was not nice - and she began to move purposefully that way.

The fighting pair rolled this way and that, each of them attempting to get the upper claw - the green seemed both strong and determined, and despite the ichor now dampening the sands absolutely not ready to quit.

Grim and silent the dark blue Commander struggled to get a purchace on the ground with his back feet and to grasp Roar with the fore, to push her back, away from the gaggle of candidates. The green was nearly as large as he was however, and seemed a little more willing to use her claws.

Roar went for Commander’s throat with her powerful jaws, snapping short only an inch away. Whatever else she might be, she would not brook being interfered with, though Commander’s superior strength was beginning to tell.

Peth had coaxed Zarike right to the front of the Stands and the pair managed to claim a space at the barrier that supposedly kept them safe from the chaos below. Where Peth was watching avidly, his long brown neck reaching over the top of the barrier, Zarike's heart was in his throat. Yevalee was injured... possibly very badly. He couldn't tell from back here, and Seytev was putting himself in danger to help.

They look like they're having fun~ Peth dropped back to all fours and before Zarike could grab at him, was slipping between people and making a bee-line for the stairs leading down.

"Peth! Peth Shaff!" Zarike hissed, trying not to attract any more attention than a young man and a brown hatchling in the Stands already did. Peth stop!

I'm tired of being up here alone. I want to be down with them! I'll be safe. He threw in that last bit as an after thought, maybe the worlds would calm his rider down. Peth had found the stairs and was eyeing them, working out the best way to get down. when Zarike caught up.

"We can't go down there! We'll meet them when it's all over but we can't go now!"

There are others down there! I want to be down there too! Peth huffed and stared up at Zarike rebelliously. At least at the bottom? I want to be down there with them.

What if one of your siblings needs to get up here? It wasn't common, but it had happened before. And we're in the way? We could get hurt. The people around us could get hurt. Or worse, they might not be able to find theirs or get to theirs fast enough? Zarike left that comment silent between him and his dragon. He'd rather not alarm the people who were already staring oddly.

Better then that we're down there and out of the way! Peth trilled at his logic and turned, scooting down the stairs in an undignified fashion followed frantically by Zarike. See here! We're out of the way and we can see them! Peth was quite proud of himself by now even as Zarike tried to work him back, further away from the Sands and out of any potential line of fire. The vicious way Commander and Roar went at each other set all sorts of alarms off in Zarike's head. He didn't want Peth anywhere near that till those two were safely Impressed.

Brishen snorted and gently punched back. “You would totally grow up around whers,” he replied, watching the unfolding chaos. He didn’t think the clawed candidate would die, but those wounds would need tending too and he was likely going to be off the sands for the rest of it.

“And there goes the hatchings.” He couldn’t judge who would win, the blue was fresh and had quite a bit more strength but the green was vicious, willing to use her claws. “And new green is going to get involved with the other two.”

Oh...shells. Deruvene could only brace himself for the impact of the two dragonets. If he thoughts gut of it like two of his siblings at play he could handle whatever, and so he accepted that the outcome was going to hurt. His plans not to get shredded out the sands, he took a hit that staggered him enough to drop to a knee. It really hurt, he was getting unhappy, and he watched the events as he got back up. He could check for wounds later.

At the sight of abother approaching, he glared and pointed. "Don't you dare get involved! We don't need more of a mess!"

Jasiline nodded. "No lie Brishen. I wanted to be a wherhandler before I got to the Weyr." She grinned. She'd never think of them better than Sanuyeth, but she still had a fondness for the big brutes. They were simple, straight forward, with a single goal and they worked at till it was accomplished. She could get behind that anyday.

You are an idiot. High above them Sanuyeth snorted which only brought another chuckle from the green weyrling.

"Say... half a mark the green wins." She cast her eyes sideways at Brishen.

"You didn't miss anything all that interesting," C'tis replied to L'ris with a shrug. "No Impressions so-

"Ha!" As the second green rolled over on her back and Bakarn moved forward a wide grin spread across C'tis' features and clapped L'ris hard on the shoulder, momentarily forgetting that he was supposed to be an angry b*****d. "There goes my squire, first Impression of the day!" Ahahaha, he'd known he could do it and.... Aww, shards, now he needed to get and train up a new squire. This realization only took a little of the wind out of his sails however; he was still pleased for his squire, and thoroughly intended to brag.

S'ol winced, still anxious despite the first safe Impression being made. That green was... well she didn't seem vicious as such but she wasn't safe, that was for sure. When Deru went down to one knee under the impact of a tumbling ball of green and blue he winced harder but it seemed as though his squire was still in one piece, he was well enough to shout at a candidate anyway.

Kidder gave a hiss of protest, less to do with his fellow candidates and what he saw as a string of people thumping their chests and attempting to out noble each other (he at least would admit that his failed attempt to keep Deru from being colored with was purely selfish), and more out of concern for the dragons. He already had -opinions- about the hatchlings and he did not want one of them to die today. Damn if he was going to flirt with those claws again though. No one wrote bards tales about momentarily stopping a bull headed predator from fighting another bull headed predator. Not last he had heard.

-He's not worth your time, go find yours!- He encouraged. She'd heard him before, but he actually doubted she'd listen. The stronger blue... In her place he might feel the same way about trying to prove himself. Of course he'd fight dirty if he had to...

Breathe and get up. Yevalee shifted slightly, slowly pushing himself up, eyes tightly shut because he didn’t want to look at the blood he could feel trickling down his arm. He shuddered, licking his lips, copper tang of blood in his mouth. “No…”he managed to get out and swallowed down bile.

Slowly get up. Or at least sit up… sitting up is good. Fainting was bad, and the spots dancing on his eyelids was not a good sign. Breathing was good… focus on that first, then going to find the healers.
PostPosted: Sun May 25, 2014 9:12 am

Brishen snorted, watching the mauled boy slowly sit up. He might be able to get to the healers on his own will power, after the world stops spinning. “And it always comes down to marks with you doesn’t it?” He teased, and thought about it. “I’ll take it. I rather like the blue.” He could afford half a mark and had a soft spot for blues.

"Not always! Just most of the time." Jasi grinned. "Deal!"

"At least I'm not betting on any of their lives. I got a little more class then that."

“Really?” Aeglentine peeked from between her fingers, then regretted it, covering her face again. “Oh, how can anyone be enjoying this?” She could hear someone - some of the riders? - taking bets, which was dreadful behaviour. She would have expected more from them - just a little more… nobility.

“Congratulations!” L’ris crowed, taking the slap without flinching. She was only a little smaller then her friend, and just as strong. “She looks healthy - shaff, they’re all proving it. That’s good luck, after that brown!” She’d heard all about that, and felt sorry for the poor kid who’d Impressed him. If the creature lasted more then a month or two, she’d be surprised.

Deruvene shouted at him, and Seytev marked him as 'just fine' and took a deep breath. The dragons were fighting. Roar went for Commander's throat, and Seytev swallowed fear. They were ignoring him. All right.

Focus on what you can change.

Behind him, Yevalee was sitting up. He wasn't okay. He needed help. "Hey," Seytev said softly, turning to the other young man and crouching down beside him. "I'm here. I got you. Can you stand?" He reached out and laid a hand on Yevalee's shoulder. "Or do you want me to get a healer and bring them to you?"
