Hey there! I'm here because I got an invite and it sounded like the sort of place I ought to be!
A venerable old nerd, I still do my best to keep up on several fandoms (and am very much looking forward to the first episode of Season 2 of Defiance tonight!). I used to collect video games like mad, and was a manager at a GameStop for several years (but I got better...) and have been role playing for over 15 years.
Now I'm all grown up, with a kid of my own, and find much less time to indulge in my gaming hobbies, which has caused me to be much more selective with the titles I invest in. Currently obsessing over Borderlands 2 and Skyrim, looking forward to the Borderlands Pre-Sequel, and playing a lot of D&D 3.5 and CyberPunk 2020 when real dice need rolling!
Always interested in meeting like minded folks, and looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Im 25 married with 2 kids. Im a stay at home dad due to a back injury so im pretty much on gaia 24/7 trolling about looking for something to do so mostly i work in secret on some random project no one will ever see or im off in a guild Roll Playing.
Sometimes i get on Xbox and play Skyrim or Minecraft but im out of gold for a while so iv not been doing that much lately.
Im working on a fake'mon table-top dice game for me and my friends to play on his days off but its a long ways from being done. Besides that on gaia im working on a Zombie RP-Guild.
Thats pretty much the bulk of my life to be honest ...
Im a fairly nice guy to get along with and i tend to ether stick to myself posting randomly in the CB or chatting with the few friends iv made on gaia.

GameStop was a fun place to work part time or as a temp gig, but they are horrible to their staff... they know that everyone wants to be there, and so if you won't put up with the lowest wages and unfair practices someone else will for less. My advice to people who think it might be fun to take advantage of the discount and learn a lot about games is to enjoy working there but never, under any circumstances, accept a set of keys. The moment you do, it stops being fun and starts being an origin story for dejected supervillains.
Never played the first borderlands, but am really enjoying the second one... got my first taste of it at PAX two years ago, and was lucky enough to pick it up for $10 on a Black Friday sale. (GameStop anecdote: My DM used to enjoy telling people Black Friday was the day companies go from being "in the red" to "in the black." I told him it was the day his staff wishes they were dead... he didn't see the same humor in it that we did.)
Another great thing about Borderlands 2 is that there is a no-gore option, so I play it "with" my boy, who is three... he like to give me instructions like "be that guy" and "go over there" and "MORE GUNS!" He grew up sitting in my lap as I played Skyrim, and has never had a problem with things like violence, having no trouble distinguishing game from reality, but he HATES it when a character falls a long distance.

Awe. That is adorable. Well congratulations on being a dad. I'm glad to see a dad spending time with his son and I find that a very admirable trait. I'm sorry for your dreadful experience in the Game Stop. I'm sure after being there myself and seeing some of the people that go there I feel bad for you. From the horrid smell from some people to the 'I didn't do my research before buying' people; I don't blame you for your joke.

Well I got an invite in a PM about this place and well I consider myself a nerd so I accepted. I mean I did apply for KotN season 3 after all. My hobbies include video games, playing with my cats, playing Pathfinder with some friends, and occasionally reading. I've been playing video games since I was five which means I've been a gaymer I mean gamer for 18 years, yes I've been playing long enough for my gaming to be an adult. I play a multitude of games series being KH, Pokemon, FE (Fire Emblem), Devil May Cry, and Dragonball Z just to name a few. My favorite series is FE, favorite game Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, favorite video game character class Pupil from FE 8, and favorite character Soren FE 10 more than FE 9. Yeah as you can see that's all from fire emblem. Interests just kind of rotate. I watch animes and end up getting my fiance into them as well. Recently I got him into Sword Art Online, Kaze No Stigma, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, and DeathNote. I also have interests in finishing my book series I'm working on and that has been in the works for the past four or so years. Well Plans for the future include having a wedding to marry my fiance, graduate college with my accounting degree, get a good a job after graduating, and eventually become ruler of the world I mean have a family. I'm excited for OR and AS that comes out in November. I'm not really that up to date on most things that are suppose to be coming out right now with summer school. Learning I guess would be accounting since that will be my profession but other than that it's really not much. I mean I am still slowly teaching myself Japanese since I've watched anime for a while. If I could go anywhere in the world I would say Australia. It's nothing to do with going somewhere hot, I live in Florida after all. No it's because of their accents and they'd be in bathing suits on a lot. But that's besides the point. Yes my fiance knows about the accents and he agrees with me about them.

Thanks it's been four years. We actually met through an ex of mine. School has been really long but it should all be worth it. I loved KH and KH 2 but chain of memories was not a favorite. I haven't played BBS but some friends have told me that they didn't like storyline so I'm skeptical about it. FMA: Brotherhood I liked better than FMA and there were many differences that they did better in Brotherhood. Thanks on the book it really hasn't gotten that far been busy with other things but I pretty much have it all outlined for the first book just need more characters to bring in >.> I'm bad at names lol. That's great for him/her. Hopefully he gets a better publisher than one my friend had that pretty much gouged her. I am good with more friends they make the world go round after all. I'll keep that in mind. I'm here to help people too because I've been through a lot of different things in my life, including the whole coming out thing. My parents didn't really care but I've had friends I've had to help through the whole thing and they're great now. I'm glad to be here.

We are glad to have you! I agree with FMAB vs FMA. FMAB had the perfect storyline with excellent character choices/development. They did so much better in FMAB. I'm sorry to hear that your friend had a bad experience being published. I hope that she still writes. I would like to introduce you to our Crew member for the LGBT community and his fiance; x-Phoenix Phyre-x and o White Raven o. I've also included Stoner, who is by far the most talented roleplayers I have ever met.
They are excellent friends and this community would love to hear your story and offer you the best support we can. I am glad your experience with your parents went well and that you had excellent support. biggrin
