`Hydro Wow. Ventured out into the GCD and made that thread about Alchemy items and mostly greeted with cynicism. People are so skeptical of even well-meaning ideas. Then again, what is the GCD these days except a battlefield of GG-hate and LOOK AT THE NEW SHINY ITEMS. Yeah. The GCD can be rough too. Like, I am not a huge fan of all the item threads. I wish we could make a plot/npc/etc subforum.

Winter Hue does such a nice job with them but I feel like they're the only positive thing in the GCD so I don't want them to move either. GCD needs hugs.

It's hard to read threads I care about.

The negativity is even worse in the SF. I'm surprised that the GCD does not totally pull out a McSourface. Looks like the GCD and SF switched personalities, huh?
I wish the GCD would be filled with 20+ pages of plot threads again. Conspiracy theorists like Uncle Haijin and Fractale had left. (Haijin is my plot inspiration haha. See my font color?) Almost everyone in the old fanthreads had left. At least we're still here! smile
I suggest we post in the official plot thread, if it's okay for you guys.
ANYWAYS, I'm getting an accounting degree in 2015. I'll have to pass those uni entrance exams first from August to October. I'm going to ask you guys if accountants are as well paid as actuaries in the US. I'm also considering being an actuary though.

I have a friend who has her accounting degree. Unfortunately she works in a consumer service position in a bank because she can't find an entry level accounting job that pays as well as her current job. She's having a hard time finding something that doesn't require accounting experience. Even with degrees these days, it is harder to get onto the hamster wheel. Need a job for experience, need experience for a job, need a job for a car, need a car to get to job....*sigh* I'm almost done with my second degree and job hunting again....

Second degree?
That sucks, man (your friend). Perhaps people from my country are idealistic when it comes to being an expat. We think it's waaayyy better, but it's not. But I want to migrate to the US ...for the snow smile
It's hard to get a slot for your course and even harder to find a job! I wanted to take Psychology, but I hate the jobs that go with it.
You guys are lucky. You'll just have to take the SAT. Me? An exam per uni. gonk
Am I the only incoming hs senior (next week) here? I feel like a baby! I can be the baby of the guild! XD

Am I the only incoming hs senior (next week) here? I feel like a baby! I can be the baby of the guild! XD Yep. I'll have two Bachelor's if all goes well. First degree in Communications. Second Degree in IT. I wouldn't say it is easy to get into college, it just that there are so many, plus there are schools designed to take those who aren't whizzes at the SAT. I cynically say that there are plenty of schools out there willing to help you track up your student loan debt. (Which so far I'm managed to avoid, thank goodness). Where are you living now, Shania?

Philippines. smile Almost all my cousins are in 'murica. I would love to live here for the rest of my life, but I also want to go to the US for a while.
Wow.
True. But my country's pretty biased with colleges. Employers prioritize people from University of the Philippines cause they're smart like that. Haha
Where are you right now?

Southeast. Don't see much snow. Btw, my friend tells me that insurance companies are readily hiring Actuaries. Accountants usually make less.

With all the talk of trees, I was reminded of Celtic Tree Astrology.

What kind of trees are we growing anyway? Just Casimir?

If the site was more focused on the Gaian world instead of cash pushes, then there would probably be more plot/character threads.

While we're seeing Edmund again there's not much of a focus on him right now to get the Sexy Party really posting again.

Sexy Party. xd That's what she calls it Edmund's Sexy Party. She considers herself to be Edmund's personal stalker and if you go to her profile you'll see her sitting in a bush outside of Edmund's shop. xp
