"I wish it was as painless as it is for humans." Filix muttered dryly, leaning across the bench to get a flower from one of the bushes.
She blinked when Muris started crying, feeling almost guilty that the poor girl was having to go through that. Filix almost knew how she felt, but not quite. Luckily, Rosa and Aesculus were quick to comfort Muris, so Filix stayed where she sat. Besides, Aesculus and Rosa were so close... perhaps they'd forget their differences as well?"

Cervus stepped out into the garden from the shelter of the main castle, and there was a smile on his face as he approached his now adult cousin. The resemblance between the two fey was clear with both fully grown. "Alces...I saw the light from the window of the tower and realized what was happening. Are you well? It is a relief to see you wholly grown."
The King looked at the young man with a bright smile, obviously pleased to see his people coming into their own without too much incident. He looked about at the others and dipped his head. "It is good to see you all at my cousin's side to help each other through these transformations."
He crouched to wipe at one of Muris' tears with a fingertip. "Fear not, little one, for these transformations mean our people grow stronger by the day."

"But they look so different! And they're older, so they change..and I was just getting used to everybody the way they were, and now they're not..and.."
She looked up at the whole group of them, and burst out into tears again,
"I'm sorry I'm such a baby!"

Shaking his head Alces looked at Rosa, then at Aesculus, "That can't be true! Aesculus has become a handsome young man." He looked at the other male Fey and gave a nod at him.
"It is all right to cry Muri. You aren't being a baby." He said in the same comforting tone as before and leaned forward just a bit to give her a gentle pat on the back, "Our looks may have changed, but we are still the same person inside."
The moment the young man saw Cervus, he looked up at him and went to stand, but when he found that wasn't going to happen just yet, he gave a polite bow of his head, "Hello King Cervus. Yes I am well thank you." He smiled back at him as happily as he could, "I'm glad they were here as well."

"Shhh... you're not a baby, dear Muris. It's a lot to have happen, and no one blames you for crying. If it makes you feel better to cry, I am sure we all understand." His voice was gentle and soothing- it almost made serious, distant Aesculus that most of them knew unfathomable. This might be doubly so for Rosa, to whom he was quite cold.

Rosa blinked rapidly. My this was incredibly uncomfortable. After a moment she turned her head to one side. Well he is certinly living up to his father's reputati- Rosa's thought stopped as her entire body sent a shiver up her spine, causing her to jolt and litteraly go , '"UGH!" As if she just saw the most disgusting mental image imaginable. She went to pull Muris back at first, keeping the child away from Aesculus, only to spy Cervus coming. She dropped her arms to her side and quickly she jumped to her feet and went to thread her arms in Alces' support, smiling HUGELY she looked at Aesculus, "Yes, of course Alces. It is good to see Aesculus grown! And.. healthy! ...ever so handsom! And.." She gagged slightly and shook her head, though in quite honesty she did look, allbe it suddenly, like Aesculus' number one fan. "Muris you've no reason to appolagise. Our kind, caring Aesculus is more then happy to lend his shoulder and you already know I would be." She continued, only to Filix, in the end, a very 'save me' look. Aesculus. Cervus. Crying Muris. The only person she really wanted to talk to right now was Alces and maybe have Filix around to taunt but now she felt trapt, even if she had no good reason.

She sniffled a bit, then hugged each of them in turn, wiping at her eyes,
"'m really sorry," her voice was a bit muffled now behind her hand as she brushed away her tears,
"Thanks, everybody.."
She blushed, then, realizing that she'd made all fo them pay attention to her when really Alces was the one they were supposed to be paying attention to,
"You really do look nice like that, Alcie. 'n um..you too, Aesculus.."
She just wanted everything to go back to the way it was, though. Even if Aesculus was still nice to her, he seemed even -smarter- if that was possible.
Then she smiled,
"I'm glad you've changed your mind about Aesculus, too, Lady Rosa!" she beamed up at the older Fey through tearstained eyes,
"'n I'll be good now, I promise."

Cervus rose again, clasping Aesculus on the shoulder a moment in cameraderie before looking to Alces. "When you've recovered from your transformation, we should set up your official duties as my herald, cousin. For the moment though, I must go inform my betrothed of your adulthood and handle some matters. We shall speak soon." With another nod to the rest, Cervus departed.
((Jhiri's eyes hurt from painting 4 fey in a week, gonna go to bed now, nini!))

Filix stood up when she saw the King, bowing her head respectfully. She glanced up again, blinking at the second set of tears. Filix's heart ached for the girl, but crowding her wouldn't make anyone feel better.
She was distracted then, by the very odd behavior of Rosa. True, Filix had hoped that Rosa had grown out of the strange feelings towards Aesculus... but this was NOT what she had pictured. At all. Healthy? Handsome? Rosa was pretending to like Aesculus, and for what? Filix glanced back at the king, and grinned. Maybe he'd had a talk to her about it... if there was anyone that could get her to behave, it was Cervus.
Filix sat down again on a bench, folding her hands calmly in her lap while she watched Rosa.

"I know how we'll make you feel better." He gave Muris a rare warm smile and turned around. "Hop on my back. Don't worry... now that I'm bigger, I can carry you."
As he turned around so that he could give Muris a piggy-back ride, he looked at Rosa. He wasn't entirely sure she was sincere seeing as her actions and words seemed a bit... acted. She was moody, but such a dramatic change with that stubborn, illogical streak made him doubtful. He was banking on Cervus' prescence considering her comment before he arrived that Aesculus had only pretended not to hear.

"Very well my King." He nodded and smiled at him as he watched him leave.
Alces blinked at Rosa, and looked at her oddly, it was a mixture between a confused look, and a surprised one. He wondered to himself what that was about and had almost gone to move away from her when she threaded her arm in his but stopped himself, "Is something the matter Lady Rosa?" He looked towards Aesculus and gave him a shrug, as if to say 'women can be so confusing'.
"Well, thank you." Alces told Muris and smiled at her, glad to see she had stopped crying.

Muris blinked at Aesculus, confused for a moment, and then wrapped her arms around his neck so that he could pick her up,
"Where are we going, Aesculus?" she asked softly.
It was really odd, seeing them all like this. She felt bad for crying, but it was a lot for such a little girl to handle all at once. It wasn't just that they'd all changed, but that they were all there at once, and Muris had always been a relatively shy child.

Rosa, who had apparantly been holding her breath, let it out as Cervus left - the slightly pink look on her face escaping as her normal coloration returned. She looked at Alces and removed her arms, deciding that look wasent exactly a 'thanks for the help' one, and at the moment she wasent going to do anything she thought for a moment might not be appreciated. This kept trailing in her head, and she came close to snubbing him for the imaginary indignantation before she shook her head, "Farewell..." She bent over and went to kiss Muris' cheek. "Take care." She said, before she leaned even closer and went to whisper something that sounded like, "Dont let him entrance you." As she stood up and glared at Filix, "Thank you, my beloved sibling, for your AID!" She scoffed this time and looked back at Alces, shaking her head, "One would think, now that we are all adults... you wouldent be so.." She paused. "No. Nothings wrong, Alces. Perhaps I simply read your expressions wrong, but if you would rather someone else help you up you should just inform us. It would be quite silly to suffer all because you didn't want to speak up."
Now of course it was anyone's guess what she was thinking. Probably some concieted notion that Alces was intimidated by her and that funny look she just got was evidence, rather then confusion and suprise.

As the gangly youth stood up, she was now just as tall as him and the others. To ensure that Muris wouldn't fall, Aesculus held her legs sucurely as he stood.
"Where would my lady like to go? We can stay right here if you like. See? Now you're just as tall as the rest of us are... I daresay you might be taller than Rosa!"

"Oooh!" Muris giggled delightedly as Aesculus stood up,
"You're right! I -am- taller than everybody!"
She giggled again,
"But s'not that I was short that was bothering me so much..though bein' taller would be nice so's I could ride 'n all.." She maintained a rather light grip around Aesculus' neck so she wouldn't choke him. Her papa had lifted her onto his shoulders enough that she knew what would hurt and what wouldn't.
